I'd say knives are worse, just because it's really only Mel Coat that's a stinker for Coats. Selene has a single build, sure, but Godsents are solid. Nyx and Shiva are good

Just want to say that if you enjoy a “bad” weapon, that’s perfectly alright! I find pan loads of fun myself. Most of what people are saying here are only majorly applicable in high fear, speed runs or whatnot. If you’re playing casually, use whatever you find fun!

Grisly gain is the same as it was before, except plasma now regenerates 15 magick instead of 10. My issue with it is that you need to have your entire build centered around it, including a legendary boon, for it to feel fun and strong. I can slap born, glamour or even lucid now onto any build and have a good time

if you do, then that just means dialogue is getting clogged up. Characters can only say one thing per encounter, so if you need a specific piece of dialogue for an incantation, then it could just be stuck in the priority list.

The major difference between Hades 1 & 2 at max fear, is that in Hades, you only get to 1 Boon offered to you (instead of 3), and entering each region your forced to sell a Boon.

Basically the RNG is too severe in Hades 1. That's why there were multiple seeded max fear clears but took years for an unseeded.

each boon has an element associated with it. There are special Infusion boons that offer you a bonus based on how many elements you've collected

for example, Poseidon has an infusion boon that gives you +15HP for each water element you collect. All of Poseidon's boons are water element, and so are some of Aphrodite's, Demeter's, and a handful of others. It'll make sense as you play and start using them

my biggest problem with the hades games from a gameplay standpoint is that the devs are kinda secretive with numbers and exactly how things work

there’s quite a few hidden mechanics (eg poseidon wave icd, scorch ticks not working with air quality) and also a lot of interactions and things like pom and rarity scaling can only be found out through wikis or lots of testing

some other things the game doesn’t tell you as well like how % damage bonuses are additive but % damage reduction is multiplicative

Arc Flash always underperforms dmg-wise and players walk away thinking it's bc they would’ve triggered blitz with regular omega dmg anyways

When in reality it's because the thundercloud animation acts as a built-in ICD for Blitz where it cannot be reapplied until the animation finishes

So there's very few scenarios where Arc Flash actually increases blitz triggering rate, especially compared to using a different dmg source (% gods, splash/scorch, etc.) to trigger it

Poseidon was changed from a %-based damage boost to flat damage effects, so he's really good but in different situations.
Aphrodite I'm pretty sure has bigger %-based bonuses now at the cost of being limited to "close" range.

it's not exactly that. I go into detail on the bugs in the link above. But basically they gave all the coats a faster base channel time for the o-attack in like patch 11 or whichever one it was except Mel Coat. But because Mel Coat has 20%, it narrowly comes out faster at rank 5 (like 5% faster ish). Obviously still really dumb because it should be 20% faster. And then there are bugs with stacking other sources of omega move speed, attacks speed, strikes speed, channel faster, etc. on all coats. And Plasma just flat doesn't do anything at all for the o-attack (also on all coats) even though based on tooltips it plainly should.
