Seydlitz double DD gun to chop down Laffey, AA doesn’t matter when you have Nakhimov

Switched out 457 to Hood gun on Lion for the same reason of anti frontline, you would also outspeed enemy Warspite and Lion just incase they target fire you

French torp on Laffey and Eldridge for that reason as well

Then Nakhimov with double rainbow planes would sweep the backline

On a good fight, you would win the frontline fight while your Nakhimov would remain unspotted

On a bad fight where both your Laffey and theirs die, you would still win as long as Nakhimov remains unspotted

As for how Nakhimov can remain unspotted then top position to avoid Lion’s barrage, Fairy to mitigate any potential torps (even tho she is concealed so it is less likely for her to get targeted), then she has concealment wipe and burn damage nullification

All that’s left is for you to focus on damage to finish off the backline

I think I also timed Nakhimov’s airstrike with Seydlitz’s 2nd launch so the slow kicks in

And ofc Laffey middle with Manjuu and Invisible Smoke

That’s as far as Ik the best survivability item for her

As for whether Eldridge or Jintsuu tanks then it depends on how lucky you are feeling

You could also test switching out Jintsuu Meta for Z52

Also note that this fleet is specifically for countering triple HMS. Against Seydlitz comp with Musashi top then it would be less effective since Musashi can hit Nakhimov bypassing concealment

Yeah I don't have issues with that team. Probably the only other one I'm somewhat wary about is Lion Alsace +1 (honestly forgot who it was)

As for why I chose french torps then they have high damage against light armor instead of heavy

And it has fan shape launch

Jintsuu still runs tea torp for backline snipes

But since Eldridge’s and Laffey’s torp damage aren’t too high, I use french torp to potentially rng kill enemy Eldridge early or at 16 seconds

Yeah I've seen those against me now that I think about it. My whole VG uses those 'tea torps' but I certainly like your approach more

Triple HMS’s advantage is that AP guns on 3 BBs would focus fire your backline

But it is also their disadvantage that none of their ships actually aid in killing Laffey

So if your Laffey won and theirs don’t, Nakhimov have free reign

At least that’s the concept that my fleet aim to exploit

It may not work against other counter comps tho as stated
