The 0/3 refers to the number of riddles you’ve solved in the lobby with the dolls. Collect dolls from all maps then go to the lobby and solve the first riddle (on the floor in front of the desk). Once it is solved the floor will change me and you’ll get a new riddle. Rinse and repeat.

And you may need to be at 1x or above for dolls to show up in the lobby.

I play on 200% sanity drain, no hiding spots, 150% ghost speed - I do not usually see hunts. You don't need crucifix and smudge yet. Just farm tanglewood until you are comfortable with game mechanics. It can be scary in the beginning, then it gets easier
