Basically here's the TLDR:

Alan is a writer who got trapped in the "Dark Place" by the evil entity in that realm (called the Dark Presence). The Dark Presence can change reality through the power of art, so it takes artists to try to break in to the rest of the world.

Alan knows this and is trying to write himself out of the Dark Place, but he knows he can't just do "I escaped and lived happily ever after, the end!" so there's negatives too. He reaches out to people through his writing to try to get help escaping. Cue us ghost hunters!

vr and consoles are the most affected ones, vr players can't even crouch in game to grab an item without their arms flying everywhere
and the grab from far new mechanic fails 50% of the time or grab the wrong item

plus there was a "fix" on headgear about vr players being able to pick from pc players
(they can still steal it and you won't be able to equip it again unless you go to the van and put the invisible item from your head into the tools place)

i originally preferred how the salt was put down, how we switch items etc before this update. Even turning the parabolic microphone on and off and the sond recorder has a bit of a delay. Most of the time, the sound recorder doesn't want to pick up the sounds of the crucifix burning and other sounds. I love this game so much, just wished it was more focused on the character customisations then the animations of how items are handled. This is my opinion on the matter

Something I've wished since day one is that you get to decide when to end the round when you get got. I solved the ghost but forgot to mark it because I was doing event stuff and didn't get a chance to mark it before the match ended.

Yeah, journal opens so slow even with the supposed 5 sec delay there's no time to mark a ghost, they need to fix that. Just give a button to "continue" with a more reasonable timeout of 10-15 seconds!

Sorry if this has been covered already, but is anyone still having issues with their mic not being detected since the player character update? Yesterday even the ouija board wasn't picking up my voice, along with the spirit box. At least then my mic was showing in the journal as registering, but now my mic isn't showing that at all (like the green test bar jumping up). I've checked on my laptop outside of the game and the mic is working fine. Also other players can hear my voice in game, just nothing to do with the equipment etc.

I got an idea for a ghost: a normal speed ghost that would have 2 abilities: something unique to it that happens when it's not hunting (like the banshee scream or mimic orbs for example), BUT when a hunt seemingly ends, the ghost will continue hunting for 2 more seconds but it will be invisible and inaudible and the lights will be turned off as if the hunt did end, the only way to tell that the hunt is ongoing is to check the front door

but i mean, achievements being different across platforms are not uncommon (take terraria for example, had absurd achievements on console while pretty easy ones on pc)

so that doesn't stop them from adding achievements for pc only while they work on adding them for console in the future

so my guess would be that they only did not add achievements related to the new ghosts because there are ghost trophies related to them and it wouldn't fit in the lobby display shelves

they'd have to make extra shelves and there's just no room for it

i just realised the reason we go "oh, its not a shade" if the ghost does a singing event is because if it were a shade, it'd be too shy to sing in public and i find that cute. Until next time

Grab crucifix, smudge+lighter, parabolic, night vision.
Open door.
Have crucifix on your hand and proceed to the director's office (the one with a table that u can use to loop.
Wait for a hunt.
Use parabolic to locate the ghost approx location.
Look for speed traits and item throw noises.
Go back to truck.
Throw all smudge, all motion sensor, all firelight, emf reader, camera, video camera, audio recorder, all salt, and any other item of your choice inside the building.
Place the salt and motion sensors in a way for wraith, phantom, banshee, gallu test (look this up on YT if u don't know what I meant).
Place firelight for either light up your path or do onryo test if the room is near. Lighting up path are rlly useful especially during panic moments.
