Crucifix only work when in range of the ghost when it attemps to hunt. So it's best placed into the ghost room in a place that covers the most area of the room, and if possible without opening up spawn areas, some of the outside of the room. It can work when equipped, but you still have to be in range of the ghost.

That can be another thing that stops you from getting motion sensors. Ghost just chilling in the corner. They can warp when doing a ghost event too, so they can technically avoid them that way too

Prison is by far the worst map in the game. High school probably the next. And it's not due to the size. It's because there are tonnes of high sightline areas with nowhere to escape to when the ghost hunts. Plus massive rooms that the two crucifixes cannot cover

Maintain your sanity a bit better if possible, and when you’re around average hunting sanity range, carry a lighter and incense.

Maintain your sanity by turning on some lights. For example, if ghost room is Laundry Room of Tanglewood, turn the lights on in the foyer and living room, so that when you’re waiting for evidence, you’re not losing as much sanity.

If the activity starts to ramp up, go take a sanity med (it’s somewhat guesswork since the board in the truck is broken, but I use activity of the ghost to figure out if I’m losing sanity).

When you first enter the contract, look for hiding spots right away so that you have a plan of where to run. I usually open a door to the hiding spot ahead of time and sometimes I toss the T3 lantern or a T2 UV where I’m gonna run to so that even if I’m distracted and think “oh god where am I going”, I’ll see the light and remember.

Turn on lights near the ghost room, keep your ears peeled for any sounds or interactions, be wary of the Mimic since they give a fourth false evidence which is Ghost orbs. So if you get UV, Spirit box and freezing then orbs, it's a Mimic

Another tip for finding where the ghost is: if you don’t have a hearing impairment, listen for things being thrown. You can use the EMF reader to confirm (within a certain timeframe of the ghost touching the item) - that can help you figure out where the ghost is hanging out usually

what I know about goryo short roaming is that it can set a waypoint literally anywhere within 3m of itself (even if it’s waypoint is the other side of a wall) and it will only go to it as long as it’s waypoint is outside it’s favorite room
