** BEGINNER’S GUIDE**

Hello, Investigator!

First, start with training if you haven’t yet.

Overall, the goal is to enter the building/area of the haunting and identify which ghost it is. How? First, start with finding which room the ghost is in. How? Start with using the thermometer and find the coldest room.

Next, place down the evidence collecting tools that you start with. Often very basic and all tier 1. When you play with others they may have better tools.

Watch for the evidence. (You learn to use most of these tools in the training).

But watch your sanity! The ghosts can start hunting at certain sanities or some even hunt early. Keep an eye out for hiding spots like closets, behind trash cans, or bins. Make sure to turn off electronics before you get there as ghosts can sense those!

Once you feel more comfortable with identifying the ghost you can start taking on the extra objectives like a ghost photo, EMF detection and more.

Once you start learning more you can find out ghost behaviors and even identify the ghost based on behavior. Like the speed they go while hunting, cool down periods between hunts and more! For details on ghost, how to use cursed possessions and more check out #1254568921110024254

When you feel comfortable enough for a perfect game here is what you need:

Hey y'all, I'm having an odd situation with Grafton Farmhouse and Idk if its intentional or not. We were getting temperatures of 1.1-1.2 in the attic, but the ghost ended up being in the master bedroom so we got completely thrown off. 2nd time this has happened (first time we couldn't find the room it was in before we died)

Does Grafton have any odd situation with the attic's temperatures reading lower than it should be? I know it usually stays at the weather's ambient temp but 1.1 does not seem ambient at all

very possible it just happened to change rooms when you found the old room. it takes time for a room to cool/warm up. beyond that i'm not sure about grafton's ambient temps but i'm sure it's similar to camp woodwind and maple lodge

Well @true pine and I just did our first community challenge, and we didn't die once, (close yes but not death)

While yes we know that living is not needed we only need to get the ghost correct for it to count we tried a new strat for that one. Those useless sound speakers were somewhat useful and 4 of them placed in strategic areas of that map can help narrow down what the room location is.

Though I think I would like more hide and seek rounds, so basically no hunt but find the ghost room where it's quiet and roams rooms. I know that's achievable with the custom difficulties but turning on friendly ghost makes money and XP not grow which is kinda shitty. I would love them for the large maps when running solo and even at a X 0.5 multiplier would still feel somewhat worth it. But we got the new tripods which is nice as the way the wife and I do it is I buy some upgrades and she gets different ones till we have the truck with the all same type of equipment. But with her and I working together the game is so much more fun. Never thought this would be a good couples game lol

When breaker is on jinn will be evry fast when hes far away and sees you - and willxget normal speed when hes closer. Also you can cross him off if ghost every turn off breaker - since jinn cant do dat

if the breaker is on it’ll immediately speed up to 2.5m/s when it gains line of sight, until it gets within a couple metres of you where it’ll go back to normal speed.

usually easy to test by sitting at the end of a hallway etc and calling it over, if it’s goes normal speed > rapid when it sees you > slows back down when it gets to you, it’s a jinn.

Twins are either 10% faster or slower than normal speed ghosts. After a while you can hear it quick on a single hunt. But you can just wait out a few hunts and see if they change speed

One is faster, one is slower than regular ghost speed. It takes a while to get a feel for it but you can use the bpm ticker on the cheat sheet pinned in #fan-creations . It can also help to just have it do several hunts so you can tell the difference

Any good suggestions on how to loop? I seem to run out of stamina from sprinting. Like do you just sprint along the long parts of a loop only?

Been managing my hunts, but definitely not having much luck with a smudge and hide strat (I make sure electronics are off or out of hand)

yep, it takes 5x as long for LoS to drop off as it takes to accumulate, so ghosts will "coast" at that higher speed after they can no longer see you.

First, All ghosts chill their room, so you'll be looking for a room that's colder than the others. This can take a few minutes on amateur b/c the breaker starts on. You can look for Ghost Orbs, which always indicate a ghost's favorite room. Keep your ears open and listing for interactions; use an EMF read to track them down.

i just use text anyways bc i can't bother to figure out what i wanna say to it, but, on pc, if you tab out of the game while using System Voice mode, it will stop working, and you have to tap windows key twice to get it working again, or tab out, then click the phasmophobia icon in the taskbar to go back into the game and voice recognition should be working again from there.

don't worry about apoc then, focus on just improving your identification rates, start on professional, then start using cheat sheet in professional to familiarize yourself with the ghosts' abilities, then bump it up to nightmare when you're comfortable with each ghost somewhat. at least get comfortable with ghost speeds and blinking patterns
