Without major changes to that system, it's not exactly necessary to do a reset on launch of 1.0, but it would also reset everyone to the same starting point.

How does salt work I'm confused thought it was for UV foot prints

you can pour salt on the ground in like doorways and stuff and see if there are footprints. theres one or two types of ghosts that dont leave footprints in it when they pass over so its often used as a quick determiner for whether or not its that specific type

edit: that specific ghost type is wraith.

if a UV ghost walks through salt then walks, it'll leave uv footprints (if evidence is available)

if a non-uv ghost walks through salt, it wont show any uv evidence

and yeah as said above it helps with wraith/gallu tests, help finding where ghosts are roaming or currently at

the black salt even repels ghosts back the way it came outside of hunts and slows the ghost down during hunts

honestly just do the weekly challenge, it may be difficult as I believe this week is no evidence for the ghost, getting it correct 3 times will get you 5,000 xp as well as money for the challenge

i leveled up like 5 to 8 levels getting the nomad id card, aka correctly identifying and surviving 50 times in Nell's diner

By yourself as a level 18 is a bit rough. The true best way to make money and learn as a beginner is by playing on public lobbies. You can complete runs faster and learn from others. If you didn't want to play online, there is no great way to level up fast for the first time besides weekly challenges, and even then, you only get the 5k once per week.

so just doing a bunch of contracts and not dying really helps to get xp, I always do intermediate, although I can't remember what level you earn it at, it helps with the 2x money/xp for it

What you can do is bring a firelight, and light it, record the sound when the ghost blows it out. Bring a Crucifix. Make sure the Crucifix is within range of the ghost room, and record the sound when it burns.

If you did both of those thing then you've got the "Capture 2 Sound Recordings" objectives, and if you want to go even further, just wait to hear any sound, and record that.

description says ghost will turn around when walking into it? does that mean it will always leave footprints opposite direction to which it been placed down? say on tanglewood i place salt towards main door, the footprint will always walk towards living room? is this an actual game mechanic?

Yes, T3 salt makes the ghost turn around outside of hunts. So on Tanglewood, if the ghost is in living room and you put salt at the border of the foyer, the footprints would be in the living room as the ghost hit the salt and turned back around.

The banshee is the only ghost cares about personal sanity and the hunt type changes if target is inside or out. everything else is average, no matter where the players are.

Moroi's speed depends on average sanity. If it hunts right as it's technically "allowed" to, it's pretty slow, on low sanity, Moroi is fast.
