flashlight flickering can also be a warning of ghost hunting nearby. flickering range is usually slightly bigger than detection range for hunting.

there's some randomness in the sense where sometimes you'll get an answer ONLY when you are alone or when you are with the person the ghost talks to but to maximize response rate, I suggest leaving the room in the dark and trying one by one, walk around with the spirit box too

it depends on the ghost being near you or you being near him that's why i told you about the spirit box, T3 is very forgiving for that but still, for example if he events literally walk up to him with the spirit box

i used to always just compare my heartbeat sound to the sound of the ghost's footsteps, if the heartbeat was considerably louder than the ghost, it was a myling (barring raiju), or if the ghost can only be heard from a relatively close range (i.e. i'm standing at CWW tables and the ghost is only audible once it reaches the front of campfire or the big tree in the middle

best way to actually learn and start to familiarize yourself with the no-evidence tells and stuff will be to play professional and reference the cheatsheet once you know what the ghost is. once you know what the abilities and tells are that you should be looking for, watch the ghost do them before you leave the game
