But to counter trolls always choosing that class it would need to disable cursed objects or heavily nerf them for the class.

the past couple times I've tried to incense the ghost after baiting it into a hunt, it has successfully blinded the ghost, but it always comes straight to my hiding spot when its un-blinded (using t1 incense, if that matters)

I've had 2 matches where even with the breaker on, all the broken wall rooms were like 5-6 degrees. It was taking us so long to find the room that we didn't even realise our sanity dropped that low (I always keep the lights on) and the ghost started hunting from somewhere else all together (Nightmare mode)

There are a number of ways you can test for them, but it's easier if you are there with the ghost

For example, you can set up a single firelight with a crucifix placed right beside it. Relight the candle every time it is blown out and on the third blow out if it burns the crucifix up to 6 seconds after the blowout, it may be an onryo. If it burns a T2 crucifix with the candle on still... it is NOT an onryo

ehhhh no, unlike other ghosts such as the wraith, phantom (obviously all the speedsters) the onryo does not have any tells DURING the hunt

But also, every time you light the candle, count to 20 seconds in your head. If the ghost blows the candle out before that 20 seconds is up, it is a guaranteed onryo because it is the only ghost that can blow candles out before the 20 second mark of you lighting it

There's one facet of the game I haven't figured out, yet;
multiple lights in one room
is sanity drained stopped when there's one - any - light on in the room, or are rooms segmented into where the light is
the hallway in the starter map, for example, has 2 lights, a table-light right next to the door, and a ceiling light on the side with the two bedrooms

I know for the spirit box any light at all disrupts it

It has to be the ability, that means to uses the ability that allows the demon to hunt at any sanity

that means you can’t just trigger a cursed possession and die.
