they're fun, but they give such a hit to how much money you can earn in a round

most don't even make it any easier to identify a ghost anyway, how are the cards helpful in any way but for a little gambling fun

mirror helps save some time finding the ghost room, and the board is almost exclusively useful for a thaye

The issue with summoning circles is even if you got a tier 3 crucifix if the ghost starts to hunt right before you light that last candle it'll be teleported to the location and immediately be released

Honestly I like the music box a lot more once you get used to it for a lot of the objectives and media mixed together

Turn on, when you see lights, start recording and move closer to the source of the sounds

You hold button to record. Once there is something to record near you you will see it the the side/ screen. Get close and record it for a second or so and it will automaticly save it in your journal

ghosts create a point of audio, this point is registering nothing but noise until you're in range
you can find it by following the indications of the sound recorder
T1 lights up as you get closer
T2 shows a bar of noise that needs to pass a threshold
and T3 shows an accurate indication of direction
Once you're on the hub, you just press record the same way as you would recoverd a video

As long as you're recording, it will usually pick up a ghost event or mist ball as a unique. It'll also catch crucifixes burning or candles flaring up and even EMF 5 beeps, if you're close enough.

Everything else is an invisible point in the world you have to track down. Like a little note the ghost leaves you. Sound rec t3 makes it so much easier though.

There's still a little waiting, if you're looking for freezing temps (5-10 minutes)... But you can pretty quickly tell if a room is colder than the others... Even if the breaker isn't on, it should still be a few degrees cooler, but it also depends how long since the door opened...

They fix a lot of stuff, and there are ofc bugs in the game, but to be frank, the stuff you think are bugs, aren't.

it's like a level of existential crisis; object permanence is canonically non-existent in Phasmo

DOTs are borderline impossible to record on video (it pretty much takes a large room and 2x T3 DOTs)
on some maps you can't even take photos of DOTs

Bones have mostly been fixed, but there are still some cases of it spawning out of reach

motion sensors go off randomly (no actual interaction)

ghosts can sometimes kill you when walking past a closet or across a looping spot (a proper one, like the kitchen island)

my personal worst offender; Onryo's not hunting after the 3rd candle. You do the candle trick, get no hunt, scratch of the Onryo on the list, and then at the end you had the wrong ghost because it was an Onryo

yea, the game is set up in such a way, that only the rooms are loaded that have actively open doors connected to them
it's a way to avoid overloading the game
it's just funny that in this game you can actually see it

Even in no evidence you will hence see orbs.

As for the rest, yes in normal games you will find 4 evidences for mimics, and orbs is the fake. But unless you find the other 3 you cant be too sure.

So just gitta be careful

But you still need to check properly and not rush too much

Sounds are different, the device will react, then you have to hunt down the exact spot where the ghost "left" the sound. The device helps a bit, but it's a bit of guesswork in the early game.

Witte Wieven (dutch folklore version of the will-o-wisps, spirits that lured people into marshes/swamps to drown them)
Yuki-Onna (freezing spirit, could for example rapidly cool a room down)
and Dullahan (something like a Twins, except that it's detection abilities are limited to the ghost room, but that it's body roams around, meaning it can do interactions while roaming, but can't do ghost events outside the ghost room)

Question. When a ghost walks through salt, I take a picture of the footprint but don't get anything out of it. I'm relatively new to the game, I apologize. If photos don't work for the salt footprint, will a video recording work? Or is the salt footprint just not recordable data?

because some ghosts you can, like hantu, rev, deo, moroi, oni, phantom, some others im not gonna name, others like the goryo, onryo, jinn, mare, yurei, ect you cant name based off of hunt alone

technically you can onryo, but rarely people do, usually we figure it out by firelight not it hunting at 60% sanity

banshee picks a target and tries to kill only said target if they are in the house, and hunts only when that target is at 50% or less sanity, banshees also randomly roam to said target

yokais on the other hand are dumb and cant detect electronics during hunts unless they are REALLY close, and they also hunt at 80% sanity if someone is talking near them

plus banshees are the only ghost that can give the paranormal scream
