its main weakness is it's ghost orb you can see it through the video camera and when your doing elimination process if you add up your evidence with ghostorb and it doesn't show a ghost at all, its a mimic, (hopefully considering all previous evidence is present)

There's ways around even having to smudge at all.
If you time the hunt you can try to take a picture in the last few seconds, if last 5 seconds whatever you need one smudge with last that easy so you can try to get pictures done with or without smudge depending on how good you are with a timer

Hey, I play phasmo in VR, family plays on flat screens. Family and I loaded it up for the first time in a while and we're loving the lighthouse map. I was able to climb up to the deck outside the lamp and jump off once, and landed in the fenced in garden at the entrance, which I wiggled out of. But after that I couldn't make my character jump off the lighthouse top any more. Anyone know the trick to make it work consistently?

Yes, but I think it still tied to the Mare, but it's effectively the same. Like the cooldown only goes into effect if the Mare was close enough to the switch for it do its ability. So you spam a light switch and the Mare walks into ability range, it can do it.

i just walk in a room, turn the light on, and leave it there, but make sure to turn it back off/let the ghost turn it off with a hunt/cruci or something, then come back a bit later and try again
