The ghost doesn't interact with dots anymore. It enters a "DOTS state" temporarily.

once you find the room by checking their temperatures (as well as listening to hear the ghost touching and throwing things), setup all the evidence gathering equipment:

the ghost can roam around as much as it wants (based on your difficulty's settings)

ghost writing: the ghost has to be within range of the book to have a chance of interacting with it
spirit box: also have to be within range of the ghost to get a response, have the lights off in the room, and everyone else out of the room completely.
UV: ghost has to touch a door/light switch or step through salt to leave UV evidence
Ghost Orbs: do not follow the ghost while it roams, will always be in the ghost room.
EMF5: anything teh ghost touches or throws will leave an EMF reading. each one has a 25% chance of being upgraded to emf 5. other than that, emf 5 will not happen, and it must be on a ghost that has emf 5 for evidence. emf 2 means it touched something, emf 3 means it threw something, emf 4 means it did a ghost event
Freezing Temps: Will follow the ghost as it roams. the longer the ghost is in a room, the colder the room will get. easier to notice the difference if the power is turned on and the house has had time to warm up
Dots: if the ghost is within range of the dots, it will have a chance to interact with it, showing a green dot filled ghost walking through the illuminated area, otherwise completely transparent. goryo will only show dots on cameras, and also only when nobody is in the room with it.

The idea is, you load in and take 1 sanity med so you're now at 80% sanity. So the only ghost that would be able to hunt you is a demon. Open the door and start a 1 minute timer. Run to the back of the map where the monkey paw is and wish for activity, (which is rumored to increase the chance that a ghost uses it's ability). If the timer is up, just quit the match. Rinse and repeat til you get a demon hug.
