It’s been around since eye adaptation was put on. Your graphics card can’t do the eye adaptation option.

So not a bug but just something older cards can’t do

New here. Just wanted to ask a question. My daughter and I are playing single player and we have events in the first house where we see our own breath and the thermometer drops in temperature but when we apply it as evidence and choose the ghost we think it is, it's something not with freezing temps. Is there a specific temperature we have to lookout for or does seeing your own breath not mean anything?

Couple ways. If you get more then the evidence you are supposed to get. Including orbs. Mimics have guarunteed orbs. Or you noticed it does 2 different special ability’s. Such as a mares ability and then it hunts you at a faster speed then a mare. Well then you would know that it just changed its special ability.

tbf one of the reasons i really left was because i just really didnt want all the items to change. i was just setting in, i had reached like level 400 (which was really easy back then ofc) and then they announced this and it really just overwhelmed me

Mare doesn't have any special hunt abilities. Mare is one of the most annoying ghosts to attempt to figure out without evidence. Major things to remember:

• Mares will often roam away from rooms which have lights turned on, they hate lights
• Mares have a higher chance of doing a light break ghost event
• Mares can never turn on a light switch

Mare's special ability is whenever a player flicks on a light switch, there's a chance it will immediately flick it back off. This is rare but does happened. No other ghost can do it unless it's a coincidence

although Mares can hunt earlier in dark rooms than in lit rooms (60% in dark rooms, 40% in lit rooms) Lit rooms are defined as Rooms that have their room lights on. Lampshades, TV, Appliances are not included in this list.

It's alright. Mmm I'd say it's kinda opposite of the Jinn as Jinn has an ability during the hunt where as soon as it gets line of sight of the player, it speeds up to its full potential fastest speed instantly rather than gradually speeding up like other ghosts which speed up on line of sight. But this ability only works if the breaker is turned on. So Jinns can never turn off the breaker as it'll be counterintuitive to their ability

it can be very confusing, id say for now just use stuff like the EMF to look for EMF 5, thermo for freezing temps, spirit box to see if the ghost talks to you, ghost writing to see if the ghost writes in it, video camera to see if theres any floating glowing orb like particles, UV light to see if theres any ultraviolet evidence like footsprints or fingerprints and D.O.T.S. sensor to see if the ghost's silhoutte is visible in it

what i suggest is play a lot of professional.

once you get the ghost, google what the ghost does. check for yourself if it really does what it says

e.g. Raijus are fast only when near electronics (2.5m/s), you can check for yourself if it does that indeed
hantus are really fast in cold areas and does cold breath during the hunt if the breaker is off. you can see for yourself that the ghost does indeed change speed from the ghost room to the room next to it

once you get an evidence, you can mark it in your book and it'll start eliminating ghosts that it can be

those ghosts being:

• Jinn: Speeds up really fast on line of sight if the player is far enough away

• Revenant: Really, really slow when it doesn't know where the player is but TERRIFYINGLY FAST when it does know

• Hantu: Faster when in areas which are colder, does not speed up at all on line of sight

• Raiju: Faster around electronics, does not speed up at all on line of sight

• The Twins: Either 10% slower of faster, not as noticeable

• Moroi: Lower your sanity, faster it is. If your sanity is really high, it'll be a bit slower

• Deogen: The exact replica of Revenant. You can not hide from it. It knows the players location and will sprint to the player in a REALLY HIGH SPEED. But the catch being as soon as it come close to the player, it slows down to a snail's pace

• Thaye: If you're around the ghost and it is a thaye, it will start aging and getting "older". Young thayes are incredibly fast and they get slower the older they get. Does not speed up at all on line of sight
