The other was in the foyer.

I guess I can get my sanity back up to 60 and turn the light in the ghost room off and then see if it hunts.

most likely the hunts are ending and new ones starting without you realizng it. Check lightswitches to see if the ghost is hunting; if you can flick it, it's not.

Is it possible you may have just missed the hunt cool down and it hunted again on minimums?

There's at least a 25 second gap between hunts (20 for demon). If you were very low sanity, ghosts tend to hunt more frequently, so maybe it was back to back hunting at the minimum cool down?

The other thing is on higher settings (insanity?) or custom, I believe "kills extend hunts" setting is available.

thats the biggest way you can rule out/confirm a ghost easily

after you figure out if the ghost is not normal speed or normal speed, then you can do tests to narrow it down

cursed possessions are the best way to drain your sanity. You can also play with the ghost and wish for an event (or special power) but it's more dangerous.µ
For the video cam, I think it's about how sharp the image stays during hunts or ghost events.

another way to probably get your ghost to event is to do the following:

1. smudging ghost on 0% sanity - this will disable the ghost from doing hunts for the duration of smudge timer. this means the ghost will have a higher chance of doing events. (instead of being able to hunt it would have do nothing, interact, ghost event, skill (if any), hunt)

first thing you do is get all the evidence. now, if you really want to learn the types of ghosts, you will google what they do.

make a list somewhere. confirm it during your game. dont opt out immediately the moment you get your ghost.

witnessing something first hand is much better than watching it online or reading about it

Ghosts have certain key behaviors that makes certain ghosts easier to identify. Hunts also help a lot with information. The three evidence modes are just to help you learn about ghosts’ behaviors. For now just focus on identifying the evidence. But as you play you’ll notice key traits of ghosts that make them easier to identify with less evidence in higher levels

Phantom: sets a waypoint to you, walks to waypoint, gives off EMF 2

As a rule of thumb, when you get evidences like EMF 5, Ghost Writing, or DOTS, you can automatically rule off The Mimic as it cannot copy other ghost's evidences.

My god. I just tried to actually do the challenge again after skipping the last few, and had the misfortune of having a ghost in the auditorium. I had it down to Wraith and Goryo, so I put salt and a motion sensor in the doorway, since getting UV or tier 1 spirit box in that room would be pretty much impossible. After waiting 30 minutes with it never leaving the room, I finally grabbed the voodoo doll and made it hunt. It came from the upstairs auditorium all the way down to outside the library where I was hiding. After the hunt, I went and check, and the two salts in front of the doorway had not been stepped in, so I went Wraith, but somehow it was Goryo. There's no way a Goryo could dodge both salt piles stretching across the doorframe.

I must admit that of all the reworks, I wish they would do something with the School. It is just this one big square thing with no character, no soul. I mean, I know schools are soulless places, but the school is the most boring map of them all, even the Prison is more interesting than the school. Might give this week's challenge a miss

There's a bit of a paradox there. Brownstone needs it the most, but it will take the most work, and so few players play large maps. So it seems like at least in the short term, they're trying to get more smaller maps done first
