If you have incense you can check for demon with a timer. Demon can hunt after 1 min after using incense. Other ghosts 1:30, spirit 3 min

That's not the ability. The ability, as in the thing counted by "abilities used" is to age, which a number of things, including hunt threshhold, being tied to the age.

Right. So there's no special code saying that it has to shapeshift once per hunt. It just always shapeshifts on a certain blink, and it's almost guaranteed to hit that blink on every hunt. I think it is technically possible to not have a shapeshift though, if you get the longest possible blinks on the shortest possible hunt. But I've never done the math. I'm pretty sure the first one is on the 12th blink, and hunts can be as short as 15 seconds, but I'm not sure what the maximum blink interval is.

I think it’s set to do it at a certain point during every hunt range so if a hunt lasted 20 seconds it will do it 10 seconds in or if it’s at 40 seconds it’ll do it 30 seconds in or 6 blinks in on a 10 blink hunt and 16th blink in 20 blink hunt

I'm not sure if that's true. I think normal ghosts can throw with a force of 1-3, and for poltis it's 2-6, but I'm not sure. I do know that poltis have to throw (or interact) every half second during a hunt, if there's something in range. So if a ghost is throwing a lot, but then it doesn't for a full second even though i could, then it shouldn't be a polty
