Nope. Varying playstyles are valid. And collecting all 3 evidence is the original intended design.
Knowing ghost behavior is not just for try hards like some of us (myself included), though.
It helps you track the ghost, make educated guesses how to best get those evidence more quickly and survive better during hunts or avoid hunts altogether.

Idk I feel like some hunting traits are perfectly balanced and identifiable (Deogens, hantu, poltergeist, to pick the best 3 in my head at the moment) but I’m just bad at estimating anything, so trying to remember what a normal pace is while I’m listening to it is annoying

I just wish the game didn’t punish you by locking friendly ghost behind level 50 and kneecapping rewards for such. You’d think friendly ghost would actually give you less info to work with.

Combine that with (to me at least) an uninformative at best, and misleading at worst journal entries, weak tutorial, and a reliance on mechanics that the game seems happy to forget to explain to you, and I’m just not living the stage of the game where I’m learning how to use the hunting traits more in the ID process

my final three ghosts were demon, moroi and shade, it wasn't a demon because it wasn't acting crazy enough, and the ghost was just active enough when I was in the room to not be a shade so I got a Moroi.

I love using deductions to determine the ghost

didn't need all evidences either not like I wanted to get all the evidence with the ghost hunting every 45 seconds to a minute it felt like

i swear, the past few times i've played professional, i've gotten a demon that hunted literally every time i stepped into the building.

i'm not even joking. the hunt length was insaaaane and i couldnt find it's room before i died. my friend was stuck in the courtyard bit, and every time he stepped inside one of the fire exit doors, the ghost hunted almost immediately. it was insane

Check your monitor settings, I have something called a "Black Equalizer", makes the darkest of dark areas visible asf... So OP in Phasmo and EFT
