U can try turning off screen space reflection in Phasmo settings, dat is very heavy on gpu. Maybe try Taa anti aliasing as well (instead of Msaa *16)

Turn on lights so your sanity doesn't drain and the ghost can't hunt. Find the ghost room (the room that is colder then others) and try finding evidence in there.

To answer your question more seriously salt is used to try and get UV evidence if the ghost stands in the salt it will disturb the salt if there is UV evidence you’ll be able to see the UV footprints if you don’t there is no UV evidence the only ghost that cannot step in salt is a wraith
