The board gives +1/-1 results like a 5 could be a 4 or a 6 (or a 5) so no you can't really say you got emf 5 but if you see it you might have emf 5 so check with an emf reader to be sure. The board is really just not a good way to get info so try playing without it. (It definitely has its uses like showing you might have emf 5 or you might have Twins but you can never get evidence from it)
(Haven't played in a while so someone say if I'm wrong!)
