So I've discovered the existence of something called a sparkle dog, and it's legit just a dog/wolf OC where you purposely make it as bright, neon, and eye-searing as possible while still maybe not having it took entirely horrible. Hello,
The current Phasmophobia logo makes use of the Chiller font.
This font is useful to use when a game revolves around body/gore/screamer horror as it depicts dreadful messages for the player who ventures in that game. Yet Phasmophobia isn't about body nor gore, it hinges around ambience and somewhat of a lingering fear type of horror. You do not get scared because the ghost spooked you with a screamer, you get scared because you know the ghost may hunt you soon. The inventory limitation adds to this terrific ambiance as you feel very weak and unease, which is something that better resembles RE1 or even Silent Hill in my oppinion.
Hence, Phasmophobia shouldn't use the Chiller font as it looks out of place, missleading and quite frankly, a little rushed (this font isn't good looking to be frank) since this game does not hinge around screamer nor gore.

Although more of a nitpick than anything, it has always bugged me, and since the beggining, me and my friends agreed that Phasmophobia's logo utilises the wrong font. Thus I have decided in my spare time to design this logo :

The change of font comes from the fact that, as I said, this game is more of an ambiance horror type of game and thus requires more of a slick font in my oppinion ; I personnaly have used the Gentium font as it had a cool effect on the capital P in my oppinion (which is paramount for a game that starts with a P). I've better underlined the personnality and uniqueness of this game by including all the evidences in the logo, not only does it add color, it also allows us to get a cool looking logo for desktop :

What do you think of it ? I personally feel I should add some more wear to the logo at it looks a little too clean when it should be a little dirty

Personally, i think this looks messy. I like the font used for the game, and i don't think a font say anything about content in that matter.

Definitely a cool idea to add some of the mechanics into the design and yeah, thought about the ouija board when seeing the last part.

Though in terms of a logo, it seems to be a quite overdesigned to me. The original logo is simplistic and moves the attention to the background of the logo, which already gives a good impression of the atmospehre of the game, while your logo seems to put more emphasis on the stuff on the letters, especially since it's more shiny and bigger to begin with.

Also keep in mind, that new players might not get all the references, which makes it hard to use it as the first thing people are meant to see.

As for the font i never really got the feeling that it wouldn't fit the logo, but i've not played that many horror games as well^^ Though what i can say is, that your font looks rather something i would use in official documents due to how clean it looks. Quite hard to imagine that representing a horror game.

Something that helps me out especially for learning new shapes and techniques is tracing! A lot of people think tracing is a big no-no, which it CAN be! Someone using it for publicity and posting it without any credit to the original artist is absolutely frowned upon, but for personal practice and getting better at linework, shapes, confidence, etc, tracing is a great tactic. In situations where I'm not used to or not confident in something I plan to make, I usually trace to get the hang of whatever I'm drawing. It can really help get you used to drawing certain things further in the future once you feel confident enough to move on from tracing to making your own 100% original work

And then once you get the hang of things from there, you can apply your own style to what you learned through that practice

Sometimes when I really can't seem to understand why my drawing look so far off from my ref I will add my ref in as a transparent layer to see where I'm off. I find it helps to work on ability to interrupt just from looking as well as utilizing tracing as a learning tool. Just what works for me though, some ppl find tracing from beginning helpful which is also good way to practice, again as long as ur not claiming or posting as your original work

OMG FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE WHO UNDERSTANDS THE VALUE! I completely agree with you! I use tracing to help my hands learn the movements of drawing certain poses or flow of a piece, then I try again on my own with just using the image as a visual guide only to look at as reference. It's helped me get better with my anatomy so much!

Right now, though, it's a chore having to explain to my boyfriend's kids that they should not be relying purely on tracing their Pokemon drawings, after they've learned the ones they want to draw they need to try without tracing at all. They still try and cheat by tracing then saying they didn't.

Draw a lot. Really. Draw things just because they are in front of you. Try to copy other people's styles. Try to mesh styles together. Never give up

Art tips i know are mostly just finding your own easy artstyle that you can draw all over and over again its like a hobby that you can do for a while thats what i know lol

Here's my part: start by studying the art style of your favorite artist/s, trace their drawings (as a practice) so that your hand begins to memorize drawing patterns, and between those two things you will end up finding a drawing style that not only resembles one that you like, but that will have part of your personal style.

I'm doing good, thx! I use Instagram and mostly Pinterest for inspiration, maybe you could start from writing down what kind of art style do you want: minimalistic, rough lineart, sketchy, clean lineart, disney-ish, cartoon-ish, etc.
