My guess would be that you support authors even more, since you subscribe to premium, to increase the pool of money to authors.

So yes, 70% of the subscription would go directly to the authors on CurseForge, so authors of mod, modpacks and so on would get a little bit more per user that subscribes to premium

Not really, but yes. Not only that author, but all authors will get more.

So, say that we have 100 authors, and the pool of money for them is 1000 USD, lets say that all users have the same amount of downloads for simplicitly's sake.
Your subscription would then add to that pool of 1000 USD, making it 1002 USD (just making numbers up), giving the authors a bit more.
So the more premium subscribers, the larger pool it is.

It is yes, tho something to keep in mind CF does roll out releases, which means it will slowly come out across the world to aid with server loads due to multiple users updating at a time.

It may take a day or so to reach everyone. Restarting the app every now and then OR keeping your eye out for a on the left side of your app will indecate if the update has reached your geo location

Naa, the cf app updates shouldnt affect your profiles in the app.

The app itself and game profiles are also saved in 2 different folders, meaning you can reinstall the app itself if needed. Just dont delete the curseforge folder in documents (or where ever you saved it if you didnt use the default)

okay so im running a mod pack that i hand made through the curse forge app, every time i launch it it launches fine but then when i try to create a world it tells me "Data Pack Validation Failed!" and gives me the option to "Go Back" or "Reset to Defau;t". If i reset to default it spawns me in a world where none of the modded entities spawn. When I hit go back it sends me to my mod list and shows that a ton of them are "Incompatible" and are made for an older version of Minecraft even though the curse forge app says eveyrthing is okay.

If it's a modpack you're building, I'm not sure, but maybe you have the wrong mod versions vs MC versions

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

1. Find your modding folder location - In the Curseforge app press the options button at the top , then press the modding folder .
2. Saving folder location - In the now opened folder window > double mouse click to enter the 'Install' folder, and then the 'runtime' folder. At the top of the window, left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. Press CTRL+C together to save this location.
3. Open the graphics settings window - Use Windows search (hotkey ) entering the text 'GPU' - and click on 'Graphics Settings'.
4. Add Java executables - Click the 'Browse' button below the text 'Add an app'. In the folder window left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. Press CTRL+V together to paste the folder location and then press enter. -- Each folder showing is a different java installation - double mouse click one of them > then the only folder showing in each new location > then the folder named 'bin'. Once inside 'bin' folder > left mouse click the file named exactly - javaw.exe - then click 'add' in the window.

Repeat step 4 for every java installation showing in the 'runtime' folder.

5. Check options - For each of the newly added javaw.exe items - click on the item from the list and then the Options button. Check that either the only options are your graphics card, or that it's selected as the option to be used.

It's not suspicious at all and consistent with the issue of GPU not being used by the modded game launched.

It's usually a forge/neoforge issue because they do things to utilize certain opengl features

Hey, i don't know if this happens to everyone, but somehow, when i make a modpack in 1.20.1 and get mods that clearly have versions compatible, it says that they aren't. Its the first time i use forge or mods in general, but i guess this can be fixed, can it? I am making a big server for some friends, and some of the 'non compatible' mods are big ones like when dungeons arise or ice and fire.

.jar files are a compilation of one whole java project.
The code inside is not exactly the same as java, and it's not a format made to be edited manually and even if you manage to edit properly that will be harder than actually just edit the source code of the project and compile it again.

Basically you can't edit .jar and .class files, and you need three things:

1. The source code of the mod, often in github.
2. Knowledge in how Minecraft, Gradle, and Java work.
3. Know how to code with in this environment, and know what you are doing.

You shouldnt be combining modpacks, specially if you didnt make either of the original modpacks. Thats just asking for more issues neither pack dev will help you fix

Better to build your own modpacks from scratch with the mods you want. Easier for both you and who ever is helping you troubleshoot any issues that come up.

VS haveing to fist look how the first modpack dev made the pack work the way they did, then do the same for the second. . . After that it would be a whole lot of guessing trying to figure out what is breaking and why between the 2.

TLDR; In short, your making 100% more work for your self trying to merge 2+ modpacks together, then it would be to start from scratch on your own

Thats still more or less the same thing, making changes to pre-made packs sets you up for more errors. Most of the time users still wish to do this, they will be on their own to figure out any issues that come up, as you will be troubleshooting something that worked before the user broke it.

No, dont take the mods from the packs, make your own pack and install the mods new. As most pack devs use very specific mod file versions that suit their needs. Unless you go and ask the dev Why they are using that md version specifically, you may set yourself up for more headaches

Macs can be funky sometimes, if you open the none cf vanilla mc, the mac thinks the cf copy is the same and gets confused..

The repair installation will reinstall cfs mc launcher copy (wont affect your packs data), see if it can kick start it a bit

Running programs as admin are never a good idea, this can potentially cause more issues.

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
3. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

If you mean a mod for an earlier version of Minecraft, then the reason is because internal parts of minecraft have changed and the mod won't know about it. It'll be like putting a square block into a circle hole. If you just mean an earlier version of modpack, it will maybe work, but you'll likely break other parts of the modpack because the creator may have updated other parts of the pack (e.g. quests or recipes) that depend on the newer mod.

Not really, but they sent the logs to a higher support so the bug could eventually be fixed after a update.
For now you can try the temporary fix: Duplicate the modpack, and try to export the duplicate.

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

:small_orange_diamond: Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_blue_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

Don't use the Skip Launcher-setting.

And then login with the normal Minecraft launcher, should make thing easier.

Hello, i play Minecraft Vanilla 1.21.4 on Curseforge and try to add Optifine and other mods but they don´t work. it´s the same on normal Minecraft launcher (with or without Forge) someone knows what to do?

Curseforge keeps defaulting minecraft modpack scans in my C - Drive.
I moved all my curseforge files to my D - Drive including the modpacks and data but when i open curseforge, it doesnt detect my mods... when i redownload the mods it creates a new curseforge file with the new mod again to my C - Drive and moving it to D will repeat the problem.
How can Curseforge scan other drives or how do I at least change where it defaults to?

2. Select the Minecraft tab.
3. Click Change.
4. Select the location:
