Technically as well, doing pc wipes doesnt always wipe the data. Recovery is still possible.

In the server.properties there's a whitelist tag you can set to true

According to a reddit thread, it used to have an anticheat 4 years ago. That's likely the cause of the concern

But I looked all over the website and found no advertisement of said feature, so perhaps the persistence of the "no support" is out of an abundance of caution

We don't support it currently, as they have their own support group. Nothing is shady about the launcher as of now. It used to be a bit weird, but then they partnered with Overwolf.

Some of them are good, some of them are not as good, and some of them we don't talk about for ToS reasons.

I just use CurseForge, because it's simple enough for me.

And that's not a launcher, it's a mod manager, that uses the normal MC launcher
