Story time!
I used to play FTB evolution on a server. I also found out the hard way what happens when you eat bacon near pigmen in that modpack, specifically a rogue pigman that went through a portal near my base. And when breaking my grave and immediately dying before picking everything back again, I found out that pigman can not only wear jetpacks, but use them.

long story short, I had a godlike pigman stealing my jetpack and getting stuck at the canopy of a redwood tree. I asked in the server and had a nice endgame bloke come and help me, and the whole situation was hilarious, had great fun and that player that helped me was truly blessed

i don't think games being too easy is a problem, it's more about the excessive hand-holding and backseat constantly spoiling the game, and there are still studios releasing really challenging games like Fromsoftware
or if you just don't like newer game's difficulty then just play old games

for singleplayer I don't think it's an issue, but for mmos there is a trend to make the early game as easy as possible after a while, to rush players to the current mid/endgame, and I think it's a shame because it robs you from the early game experience

I think yes and no, because I have not gotten any far in Risk of rain 2 but was able to breath other rougelikes quite easy. Though I do think some games such as repo(yes I know it’s meant to be funny) are significantly harder than their predecessor lethal company.

I think these are good options to have, but I also love games that have the ability to turn those settings off (or choose your difficulty level) especially ones that allow you to change it mid game. I feel that these options enhance gameplay and make games more accessible to a variety of players. However, I don't support these types of "buffs" in competitive MMO games like COD, since they tend to give players and unfair advantage. For instance, skill based match play in COD can easily be abused by tanking (aka sandbagging) a few rounds and getting placed in a lower skill bracket. So, I guess it's been implemented in both good and bad ways. But I also know that there are so many types of games and play styles, so it's really hard to please everyone!

Both yes and no. Some games are still very difficult, but some are too easy in terms of not giving your brain something to be challenged with.
Some games are variable and good while others are more monotone and too repetitive or alike others which makes the difference between a game that holds personality and a game that is just seeming like a soulless copy of something else. So it really depends on what game it is talked about.
