I noticed after SO ended for Luna, she gets SP when using Teri but none when using Chenxue

those are the cases that i'm talking about where Chenxue can have an edge, if getting to SO faster saves more time than risking the small downtime on Teri

Obviously can change based on boss

The biggest reasons you’d be doing 0 damage is if you’re not hitting the combo with Badum

Either triggering it too soon or canceling it

Only the last hit has to connect but that hit has to or she doesn’t buff

you usually want to save to be able to afford a new valkyrie right when she gets released

also you usually want to pull weapons as well, they aren't really optional for new valkyries

but you can save up enough for both valk+weapon

Veteran players may have hoarded an abundance of them over time but I wouldn't say it's a resource you can spend as you like per se. If you already have a more established account you can slowly level some other weapons as a side Projekt after you leveled the weapon of the new valk but be careful since it could happen there hoyo releases both a Dkey and a valk in one version so you wanna have some reserves

Generally you wouldn't want to pull a Valkyrie without their weapon but in your case I'd say it's still worth it just because || there isn't really a lot to pull for beginners next patch and there's a high possibility Mei will already rerun in said patch and you could grab her weapon from there, though note that this isn't confirmed yet and just speculation and that it's generally not recommend to pull on reruns this is just an exceptional Case ||

That depends on your goals honestly, first of all this game has a competitive end game mode meaning that you compete against other players how fast you can kill a boss.

Now that you're aware of this it really depends on your goals in said game mode how f2p friendly the game is, if you want to compete at the highest rank and reach t100 ( retaining the highest rank is basically equal to t100 in EU) it'll be a bit hard and will require you to do extremely meta focused decisions

If you just want to stay at the second highest rank ( this is what we recommend to most players anyway) it's fairly f2p friendly and leaves a lot of room for casual pulls and non meta decisions

Generally you don't really need to engage with the endgame mode on a competitive level too much it's all about finding your way of playing the game and weighing between being competitive and casual, you can always choose to stay in lower ranks but this will also affect your crystal income to a decent degree

But it takes a lot of work so many people don’t bother

If you were interested I would make 1 account, see how long it takes you to do 10 pulls? And then decide if you are willing to do that a few more times

Rather than commit before trying and get sick of it

Anyway the difference is that if you’re rerolling you can guarentee getting Xentinel Mei before her banner goes away but if you don’t you would have to get lucky

And then would want to pivot to either Badum or Fate Defying dragon on beginner banner (Badum probably a little better)

The problem is the next limited banner is ||Silverwing divine key (dlc gear|| and you won’t have ||Silverwing since she doesn’t get banners anymore||

Every other banner in the next 11ish weeks is reruns

And as far as reruns go Badum is still decent because she can support without her weapon and is a strong support for 3 rings

With solid utility on SD content

If you wanted to wait 11 weeks that would theoretically probably be a little more crystal efficient but that’s a long time to wait without having any modern battlesuits

And you’d be missing a lot of crystals from endgame nodes - not as many as Badum would cost, but enough that it would offset a lot of what you’d save

The problem with JDS is that she will only be useful to you with FWS lead or any other LoA leader. Without weapon her main dps rotation is bricked due to a 6 stacks mechanic with her CA. No weapon means you can only get 3 stacks max with BAs and need to press WA to get CA charged by only 1/2, with weapon you can spam BAs up to the needed 6 stacks.
LoA gets rid of that problem entirely by giving her a fully charged CA for free on QTE, making JDS useful even without her weapon.

Then you still need to consider another thing, you already have HLE and FWS. Idk if you have HLE's weapon or not, but she pretty much replaced FWS lead teams anyway, making JDS inaccessible. I would personally invest into Songque's AstralOP instead, because even with ||Youyun|| around the corner (if you even want to get her in the first place), Songque is still better outside ||World Star and Wheel of Destiny teams, where Youyun's speciality is.||

I guess Seven Thunder is the best blade weapon cope, which you want to get anyway due to being a Divine Key and giving you a global +10 atk stat boost

but in general, you want to get signature weapons on new valkyrie releases, try to save up enough pulls to guarantee that before thinking of pulling a valkyrie. That usually allows you to guarantee both

In the long run it doesn't matter, but the ideal order is:
1 - Grips of Tai Xuan (gloves, cope glove weapon and ice gene limit).
2 - Cleaver/Judgement of Shamash (guns/greatsword, need both to sync for +10 attack and fire gene limit).
3 - Jizo Mitama (katana, phys gene limit attached to it).
4 - Star of Eden (cannon, has no attached gene limit it just exists).

for now i'd still try to see if you can get an early mei after that you'd just want to save until the new patch starts on the 30th april || next patch is an exceptional case since there wont be any new valkyrie but only a divine key for Silver wing, it's likely that mei will also rerun in said patch so if you do get her early you could then get her weapon in said patch ||
|| note that this is an exceptional case and that you normally never want to pull a valkyrie without her weapon||

imo no, even if she was in the tutorial that doesnt mean she's worth it.

the general idea on who to pull in this game is that you only pull new valkyries so that you can experience the full shill period of said valkyire and get the most value out of her, not only is fws already a year old but she also only rarely gets silled as a DPS these days. I will acknowledged that she'd help you with team building and smother rotations for your mei but by spending crytals on her you are essentially spending resources that could've gone towards a new valkyire in the future

it's not really that you always need the latest units it's just that your coverage is limited
at least from my experience it's fairly possible to bruteforce in RL from time to time but you need a flexible roster for that to accommodate to the needs of that specific boss, sinbce your only relevant units are thelema,jds,sena and thelema you dont really posses a lot of coverage in terms of typing + dmg type combos and AR types. On top of that jds, sena and lantern are also considered to be more mediocre DPS at this point and thele also has fallen off a bit since she is already nearly 2 year olds
