yeah shouldnt be too hard tbh, i've heard that masters RL can get tough from time to time but that's a solid team

switch to hle -> wa -> ult -> rita qte -> wa while her animation is still playing -> ca -> wa while the animation is ongoing -> ult, then just do auto attacks until you can use ur WA to charge up her CA until you either reach stellar surplus state and can trigger a phantom or when you need to rebuff ( HLE buffs last 30 secs)

you dont really need to switch in senadina but you could just do swap to senadina -> ult -> swap out for a small burst of dmg but it's not really needed

for her general SO/stellar surplus rot the tutorial should do fine

Sparkle is… well, she suffers a bit from doing a lot of things but most of them are niche

For instance she’s absolutely required in any P1 fire teams but MMG got powercrept by FDD and FoV probably has like 1 abyss left total

Likewise she’s a LoA support but only for Dudu and occasionally Badum (and definitely not Badum these days, since there’s been power creep there)

As a WS supp she’s always been kind of mediocre

And for direct quantum shill she’s worse than eepy teri and tends to need specifically fire quantum abysses

To be BiS (though she’s not that much worse on quantum and they do often run fire quantum for her)

She hasn’t been powercrept yet so if you got her you would use her (especially if you got her from asc supply since then she’d be S2 or SS) but it’d be a pretty niche pickup that’s hard to justify for meta purposes

If you love her you could get her ||in her asc supply next patch by skipping Silverwing or something|| and this is unlikely to brick your account but would be fairly suboptimal

If you’re willing to pay money she’s also expected to be in battlepass in a few patches

Which would be a cheap way to obtain her

A bit over 9 bucks, or less with a discount event.

But only you can decide what your money is worth, and you’d need to have f2p crystallums saved up too or buy multiple patches

Obviously the aop isn’t going to pay for itself

You’ll lose more crystals pulling for it than you’ll get back in performance

But I think it wouldn’t neccesarily be the worst decision if you’re struggling to retain and want a boost

||Youyun next patch is particularly attractive since she gives a rebate on her first 60 pulls||

Just be aware of what you’re giving up, make sure you actually have enough pulls (it’s really awkward to pull for S, waste 60 pulls, and then it doesn’t get you any extra crystals because you would need SS for that) and keep track that it might mean you need to skip someone later

Only in their niche tho, like Chenxue is slightly better at S than dreamseeker in GoI or ROO

But worse on WoD

To start of, the meta shifted drastically over the years. Your current valks will only help you much at the start of the game. Regardless, your goal after returning is to pull the newest available valkyrie that gets released at the start of every patch, also considering that you need enough crystals to afford that valk's weapon too. Check #💁gameplay-help pins for a schedule of the current version. #🔮cn-gameplay-discussion has a schedule for the future patch when it gets released on the chinese servers ahead of time.

I will go ahead and say that there isn't a lot of time left to pull Xentinel Mei (XDC), her banner leaves on April 17th

so you may want to make plans for the next patch instead

||Silverwing N-EX Bronya will get a new divine key, also Deepspace Anchor: First Light (DAFL Senadina) will be freely available through completing multiple tasks. Both have the World Star ring and are a great foundation to make your first modern team fast||

what you can already pick-up is Valkyrie Blastmetal (VBM Coralie) from Part 2's Chapter 1 rewards, she is free there along with her signature hammer and supports World Star

how to use hle in general is in the tactic class, just not with your team

really depends on the AOP, their rank and the team
generally sonq/sera are general options for teams even if they're not a team of their designated team, sonque functions as a general ele aop and sera as a general phys aop. Though of course they are still worse than the premium AOPs for that team.
For teri she's generally a worse option in every team but if you dont have any other aop and need initial ari she can work
as for CX she's slightly worse than DS at S in non goi teams but if you have her at SS and you have 2/3 symbioses/omniecent star units in your teams she should generally be better than ds, same as with teri if you need initial ari she can also work

also CX has buffs specififically for RoO so she's not a GoI only aop

she's just focused on GoI

collecting other valks can still be good to unlock in elysian realm later for one time crystals, or increasing your dorm level and handle more errands (although for the latter, you want to focus more on base S ranks from WT for those. Base A ranks are more limited in how much they can yield for you there)

as for this, play as much as you're naturally inclined to and see how much you can accumulate by the last day.

Meta wise it's very important to have the signature weapon along with the valk. Generally sig weapons provide

• 30-40% personal damage. Too much to give up when playing competitively as a main dps (every newer valk can be used as support or main dps nowadays. Competitive is notable for more crystals from abyss)
• some weapons for some valks may provide important utility as well. I'm not sure about this for XDC mei though

anyway if you can get enough to guarantee both mei and her weapon together, (roughly 120 rolls or less than 34k crystals for you at this point) then you may consider it. Otherwise maybe just skip and save for the next future releases.

Pity does carry over for the valk banner so don't worry about going halfway on this Mei valk banner (although I do not recommend building pity for the pure sake of it)

if you really want to try to go for Mei without reaching 34k crystals, then you can roll on valk banner while staying above 17k. This way if you get lucky then you still have the 17k to fall back on to guarantee the weapon afterwards.

And if you really want to play mei but couldn't get her, keep in mind you can always play a trial with her tutorial

Be aware that we normally dont encourage to pull on reruns but since next patch has no new valk for you to pull this is a special situation ||

For now I'd just save as sairaan adviced and as again on the last day of her banner since maybe we'll know more about 8.8 reruns at that point

Just to give you the grand general overview

• abyss is the main meta mode that gives more crystals for your performance against other players. It changes twice in a single week across different scenarios to emphasize many different teams (schedule in #💁gameplay-help pins)
• therefore getting a wide variety of valks is emphasized. The meta standard is valk with their weapon (no dupes)
• obviously we don't expect new players to get the entire current meta roster at once. This takes time but generally speaking every valk can roughly last 2 or so years before they see a replacement or fade into obscurity.
  • for f2p, you also wouldn't even be able to afford every new release. They're actually aiming to get most rather than all of the new roster
  • this also means there's arguably no real room to pick up past releases no matter how recent, or gacha astral ops, etc
  • this isn't ironclad though. as you understand the game more or if you're joining in for a particular interest, there can be exceptions.
• most new valks nowadays are more balanced too. As dps everyone has specific situations for themselves. Meanwhile as supports, they generally are close to each other as long as they match the team building format. The tiny differences still matter at a top level but earlier on you can compete well enough as long as you match new basic team building properly (search !faq ring for more details)

as for Mei specifically, she is the CNY valk of this year so we do loosely expect her to be better than others slightly. But it's not the end of the world if you have to miss her and use other alternatives for support roles. For her own dps scenarios you'll prob suffer more but this is going to be the case for any valk you have to skip (and again f2p wise, there's bound to be one eventually).

for a very fresh player, Mei is currently quite awkward to build too (her matching supports aren't farmable)

Astral Ring and Specializations

Allow me to explain, Captain!

Characters under the Astral Ring System will have one ring type (Specialization), and one or multiple tags (Attributes) that will determine how they can form teams. This system is only activated if a Character with Astral Ring is set as the leader. When activated:

• the leader's ring type will decide the team's playstyle.
• the team will benefit from effects (e.g., Stigmata buffs) that require Astral Ring.

but tldr mei is grail ring type leader. The tag that matches to grail ring type is [symbiosis]. You want supports with that

if you don't already have fdd or fws from rerolling then don't worry about them at this point. As said before, there's no room meta wise for f2ps to spend crystals on reruns

you'll more look to get symbiosis supports for any grail leader from future releases

btw if you have non meta goals, let us know what they are so we can adjust to that. We understand meta isn't everything but the game is still convoluted

you may consider rerolliing for a new account as well to brute for an early gacha valk but check pins for details on how you would do this (tldr using 1 email for many hoyo accounts via "salting")

but restarting/rerolling isn't everyone's cup of tea and you're only saving yourself potentially 90 or so rolls. A sizable amount short term but still arguably small in the grand scheme if rerolling really isn't your thing.

it's not like you're only getting one shot. You can restart as much as you want until you get lucky. You're basically bruteforcing luck.

but yeah it's fine if you don't want to. The odds of getting a successful account is still low and it still takes 15 minutes or so per attempt. Some people even spend a full day rerolling fruitlessly

and yeah meta aside, story and events doesn't really need anything gacha. The game is friendly towards casuals that way

also home > attack > events tab > tactics class is where you can find most valk tutorials if you just want to try them out even if you don't own them. Last stage usually lets you play as much as you want too
