So I returned to the game after the first patch of Part 2. I have 4/4 for HLE, Sena and the A ranks. I'm considering getting the BP for Thelema. Which Part 2 Valks are good? Also would the HorB DK rerun be good?

I would skip BP, MPS isn't that impactful even with weapon and she does nothing without weapon.
In general value is very flat with P2 valks so there are no big standout performers. Performance decreases with age so backpulling anything is pretty heavily discouraged as it is never worth losing the current on banner valk for it.
HoRb with dkey also only really sees use on her bosses so I would skip at this point

i'm curious how essential weapons are to the game and this is a hard question to ask since it's very heavily based on my own perspective that i've noticed is quite niche but to attempt it, I only care to max out rewards and doing so I don't care for being some god who has insane overkill, big numbers dont excite me in fact I kinda hate ever feeling op, for example if the "final endgame wave" (speculative idk this games endgame yet) says clear in 3 minutes and I clear in 1 that doesn't do anything for me i'm perfectly fine with clearing in 3 minutes on the dot and would even prefer it.

I would rather not pull weapons unless that literally makes my stated aim unobtainable

also once you reach level 81+,abyss changes from q manifold to superstring dimension. clearing in 3 minutes won't be the goal anymore, the goal will be to beat the boss fast against other people in your leaderboard bracket

something to note about abyss (main endgame mode where your own valks/gear matter) is that the difficulty of it is based on player performance
if your goals are competitive and looking to get to higher ranks (mainly redlotus which is easily achievable for f2p players for the highest crystal income outside top 100 server)
to score higher you will need to outperform other players in your bracket, and not having a valkyrie's gear will put you at a disadvantage

weapons are very important to the point where most people will tell you not to pull unless you can pull the weapon also

I would consider RL retain as pretty close to impossible without weapon on dps unless you have very good bracket luck and are willing to mald a lot.
A2 to A3 bounce is realistically where I see someone land without weapon but may be lower

keep in mind patches are 8-10 weeks, f2p rl players make around 2-3k per patch (depending on their situation and available crystals)
so you are looking at around 20k per patch, to garuntee a unit and her weapon at max pity, it will cost you 40.6k crystals (assuming its the debut valk who always has a discounted 10 pull on her first banner)
now are you always going to hit hard pity? no (dont look at my gacha history, even though i've hard pitied every banner this is not the average case)
so you are able to garuntee a valk + her weapon every 2 patches, otherwise you have decent-high chances of being able to garuntee back to back valks depending on how lucky you get

even a single 10 pull earlier is huge

this is where my "I don't wanna pull weapons" thing comes in though I am a story player with everything I touch to me games are entirely experiences about making memories and enjoying new perspectives about life (artsy rant about the importance of literature to the human experience) anyways I would rather get every single character because the reason i even like to play in the first place is to "play as who I like from the story" to put it into more understandable terms in a fighting game which i play several competitively I don't pick based on archetypes or meta or mechanics I pick based on my emotional investment, and I enjoy playing as them regardless of their mechanics because to me thats irrelevant

Instead of switching to vbm them paws to qte hle i accidentally swapped to paws first leading to vbm being onfeild for a lil longer at 2:00

Also at 2:30 i somehow thought the orb phase would be starting that's why I blanked for a sec there

for vbm you gain 1 hammering feel for hitting with basic and lose 1 hammering feel for hitting with wa, you need to get 3 stacks from consuming hammering feel with one of them being the stomp wa with 3 explosions, alternatively you can hit the enemy with ult (actually has to land) but only ever do this in the opener since you can make up for how slow it is by starting it a little before the boss is targetable. as for paws she has two ways to apply buffs, ult and qte, with only ult consuming stellar drain. i saw you use her ult after qte when you already consumed stellar drain which does nothing. hle you should really avoid casting ult at less than max stacks and you generally want to do an ult before wa since it skips sp farming but it depends on when you would get the cooldown back (and ofc just use the wa if you have less than 150)

you might also need to double wa on vbm even if you ult but not sure

** DRAWBACKS **

• Cannot link a Hoyoverse account to your game account. This means no HoyoLab features (like daily check in), no twitch drops, and discord linking to Hoyoverse accounts does not work either. Anything that needs a Hoyoverse account does not work.
• No Crossplay, you can only play through Steam so you cannot play the same account on mobile or use any launchers.
• No Hoyoplay launcher, which lets you play most of your Hoyoverse games from one single launcher.
• Can only play on the Global (EU/NA) servers.

BENEFITS

• Harder to forget your login, you have to lose your Steam account to lose your HI3 account. It is still very possible to lose your Steam account, but as long as you have access to your Steam account you have your HI3 account.
• You can use your Steam wallet to top up.
• Steam tracks your hours played (some custom launchers do this too for those with Hoyoverse accounts.)

Basically, go VBM, wa wa jump attack WA, QTE FDD, EWA, ult, qte HLE, Hold ult, WA, Hold ult, alternate basic attack sequence and hold ult until VBM buffs (orange circle with a 3 inside) almost wear off, then go back to VBM to jump attack WA and refresh them, and repeat

You can refrain from applying the buffs if stellar outburst is ready, since that automatically applies them without needing to switch

In stellar outburst, you go wa wa hold ult, QTE FDD, EWA, Ult, qte HLE, Wa wa hold ult finisher

And remember to turn VBM QTE off, it wastes time.

There’s a couple of techs you can sometimes do depending on the run, like using VBM ult at the start of the battle or not ending stellar outburst instantly so you can do a few basic attacks

But in general that’s what you’ll do

hi! ive been a returnee for around 15 days, and i just joined the server to look for some help in game. i saw the pins, and i read that it would be better to restart than keep playing as a returnee, and i was wondering if its really better to do that than to keep playing, since ive already got some characters i like a lot + i dont think id want to restart.

u switch to hohe to apply/reapply buffs, generally u can rebuff after fdd or before fdd, just be consistent, then in ring, you swap to her mainly to ult, so you can get a passive stack that buffs your hle dmg

restarting for most returnees is better options where majority of their old valks are outdated + they dont have much one time crystals left,
so restarting becomes not a bad choice, since you will be able to essentially catch up a lot sooner with the one time crystals you wouldnt have
but its not strictly necessary you do so, if you feel very much attached to the old one u have, its fine to just keep playing, and just know that you will prob need to save a bit more longer, and i do see u have hle and her new weap, so its not the end of the world or anything

Well for the meantime your rot will be vbm 2 weapon attacks > jump > attack > weapon attack to do the blast attack on the floor (make sure this hits an enemy)
You will see 3 stacks above your hp bar indicating that you have your vbm buffs up, and if you hit an enemy with the jump attack into weapon it applies a vulnerability, if stacks are about to run out switch back to her and use her jump attack into weapon again

For rc make sure her bar is purple (can switch it with weapon skill) then hold atk when its full, you can also just use your ultimate instead if its available for the same buffs

On hohe its mostly hold atk until 3 seeds above enemy then weapon skill to detonate

And you repeat this process until hohe has enough sp to ult

You can also check the ingame guide for each of the characters

What team archetype is the strongest

The one that has the newest character on banner and their designated weather in endgame

There is no strict best team as bosses have pretty strong restrictions on what works well enough to at least retain redlotus so you want as much coverage as possible at a high enough level of investment that you can win your bracket. This is generally S0 with weapon.
The generally recommended pull this patch is HLE but on the current boss she is losing pretty badly to RS for example. So you want a roster which can win more then it loses, the main way you get there is by getting the new valk each patch and let old options die as their bosses get more and more scarce.

The restrictions come from two broad factors: the weather which is a large independent buff/debuff which advantages certain setups and specific boss mechanics including type but also extending to hit count requirements or anything else fight specific.

What is "Trauma"

Trauma is inflicted on a target and accumulates. When there is enough trauma, it will trigger a matching status ailment. For certain stages and enemies, it can also trigger specific interactions.

Trauma can be inflicted by various methods including effects from Valkyrie skills, weapons, stigmata, and stages.

“Trauma,” “status,” and “damage” are distinct terms even when they share the same name (e.g., Ignite trauma ≠ Ignite status ≠ Ignite damage).

Understanding the Trauma Icon

• When inflicting trauma, an icon centered below the enemy's HP will display.
• The picture in the center shows what kind of trauma is inflicted.
• The circular bar surrounding the icon is accumulated trauma, filling in a clockwise direction. Once filled, the status is triggered.
• When the status is triggered, the center area will be filled and decrease from top to bottom for the remaining duration of the active status.
• Against some enemies, after a status expires a cooldown period will start where the trauma icon will turn gray. That trauma cannot be inflicted until this period is over.

Kinds of Trauma

• Control Conditions: Paralyze, Rime (causes Freeze), Stun
  • These may pause or even stop an enemy's action.
  • Typical duration: ~5 seconds.
  • In a few cases, these status may cause other effects to be extended.
• Damage Conditions: Ignite and Bleed
  • These deal damage over time (DoT) that are not Melee nor Ranged, scaling from the Valkyrie that inflicted the status.
  • Typical duration: ~10 seconds.
  • Bleed damage is physical but cannot crit.
  • Some Fixed DMG-only (hitcount) shields can be reduced by bleed.
• Heavy Atk.
  • Interacts with very specific states from old bosses (SS Heimdall/SS Tonatiuh).

Other General Trauma Mechanics

• Stages and enemies may have interactions with specific kinds of trauma. These are very separate from status ailments. Fulfilling these interactions can result important effects such as removal of damage reduction or high vulnerability on an enemy.
  • Some effects can also be very minor where skipping it can be considered.
  • Possible trauma interactions may display a trauma icon above the on-field target as opposed to the usual location below the enemy hp bar.
• Trauma can interact with enemies differently.
• Some enemies may be less susceptible or even immune to specific kinds of trauma.
• When trying to repeat the same status on a boss, they may also gain a higher trauma requirement than the first time. This resets upon a phase change.

If you're jumping into events+voyager log (past events), you're going to run into all sorts of stories that may be going off of some pre-existing context already.

Otherwise for main story, beware that it's possible to jump straight to the "Part 2" of the main story, or even to the latest chapter (new story additions are treated as events so there are limited rewards. A player who doesn't care about story may opt to jump to not miss out)

Part 1's main story does start in the middle of something though so even being a d1 player doesn't really avoid that. There are some official mangas that take place before it chronologically speaking. Again Lore channel can handle that.

The idea of maining doesn't really exist honestly. This is because the main competitive mode of HI3 (Abyss) constantly changes across many scenarios so one single team or dps cannot handle all of it (let alone much of it).

If you just want to get everything related to HoHE, consider Key of Ego which is her first signature weapon. It is the worst weapon to get here since HoHE has a complete replacement now (albeit gacha only) that outclasses it several folds with new functions for modern teams.

Ai-chan recommends that you keep the box until you have a use case for one of the weapons. Both Purana Phantasma and Nocturnal Stealth have their uses. Key of Ego is generally not recommended.

If you insist on opening the box immediately, Purana is likely to have more usage long-term due to the team tdm buff and RC being able to quickly debuff enemies which may be useful for SS MA.

HoHE Stellar Key Considerations

• note you can try this out for free in her tutorial menu via Attack > Events (Tab) > Tactics Class > HoHE

benefits of hohe stellar divine key

• it only costs 60 pulls at worst (17k crystals) if you already own hohe (which you get for free) edit: this was from a past event
• since it's a [divine key](#👶beginner-help message), integrating (tune) it into your dorm menu will give you a global +10 atk buff (it's not much on its own but it adds up to matter in high meta)

it gives hohe [astral ring functions](#👶beginner-help message)

• Wheel of Destiny ring type (for leader dps)
• her tags (mainly for supporting) are
  • shadow star (matches with wheel of destiny)
  • heavenly shift (matches with law of ascension)
  • symbiosis (matches with grail of infinitude)
    so for only 60 pulls you're getting one dps role, and three support roles

the cons are:

• those 60 rolls can get more mileage on something more new
• since you're new, your hohe is behind the competition. it's common at a competitive level for hohe to have ss rank or higher now (not recommended to pursue) (mine is ss3 already and i only rolled one valk card for her back when she was first released)
• HoHE's dps role is niche, esp moreso with HLE's release who took away some scenarios from her
• HoHE as a support is mostly lackluster except for symbiosis which she isn't the best at either.
• HoHE as a dps is quite dependent on thelema/HLE for alot of her matchups. Thelema is highly not recommended to go out of your way for now.

if you want to find other photos you have taken then you can use discord's search feature.
