there's a few outlier cases but yeah what daniel said is the main way. It's for whales and for most intents and purposes, gacha weapons are expected at syn1

some events might give you a selector box/ticket for a synergy upgrade.

For VBm and VBs (the farmable astral ring valks), they have mod parts in the asterite shop that you can use to eventually upgrade the syn of their own weapons. 4 parts = 1 box. each box = 1 synergy so you need 8 parts for each weapon.

You cannot get VBs weapon with the mod parts. It's only for if you already have it. (VBs is dead in the meta anyway so don't worry about her if you cannot)

maybe you're saying damage types as an example and we ended up talking about it more, but keep in mind this game emphasizes a dps in other ways than just fire/ ice/ etc now. Only looking at that for coverage is highly flawed

so you'll use something like hov, rc, or swallowtail (not all in the same team. Just one of them as the dps)

Overall, you should only affix Best-in-Slot Stigmata and generally aim to get as much Atk as possible on your DPS Valkyries first. Ensure that the Battlesuit/Weapon Type matches what the Affix line demands otherwise the Atk will not apply.

Remember only Physical Damage can crit, and "crit ratios" do not apply to Honkai Impact 3rd.

what kind of reroll devices specifically?

i don't recall them being buyable with coins so maybe you're talking about just normal crystal cores (NCCs) to reroll

i have an extremely conservative approach to affixes if you're not at nirvana/myriad tbh

understand that affixes are luck based and can be an endless hole. They also are just slight attack boosts that be marginal and not actually appreciated in many lower cases, especially if you're already missing valks/gears or aren't playing well enough

So i only recommend spending affixes if you have a specific situation where you're barely off, as a last resort

i will say though i retained one early epernay cycle with level 45 stigs on JDS but this is also an extreme example not to be taken generally

the general takeaway is you don't always need maximum upgrades especially if it's too costly/you're low on resources at a given point in time.

so if you're low or dealing with something possibly high costing, try to make sure you actually need it or not first @austere umbra

practically speaking, the main important bottleneck currency are going to be wafer stabilizers (locks)

in many cases you can mainly look at the 3pc stigmata effect for this

so do that for FDD if you haven't yet to understand what actions you need to do

VBm is a bit more complicated

Vbm is her skill 3x to get the full buff, FDD is skill and ult (i think)

there's an important debuff too (well there's a few but anyway)

the main thing is jump > attack (sends you to ground) > weapon active finisher for the thumping attack

this triggers stellar drain (one time effect that refreshes after every outburst, where doing that specific move restores 20 ARI)

but also debuffs the enemy

Fdd is actually one of the valks where the 3pc stig effect is always active as long as AR is active , for fdd it's mainly looking at her ult since that is what provides the beach

the team breach effect valks generally have a condition more related to their own kit

anyway once you understand how these two trigger their support effects then the idea becomes

set up support effects (vbm + fdd. prob start with vbm first)

then refresh and repeat

Her 3pc stig effect is also mentioned in said ult skills, when the 3pc Stigmata effect is present the breach provided by her is increased( it's always active as long as you have all 3 Stigmatas equipped and play her in an AR team )

but fdd has the tag so it's fine to swap to her

i'm not really sure how it would go from here with partial sp restoration with only one tagged support. maybe mango can comment on that more

HLE works fine with 1 symbioses support, even when playing 2 symbioses supports you'd only use their ults and then swap back to Hle and do her WA WA ult combo. Since you won't be able to do 2 ults that restore SP you'll just compensate with FDD's WA since that also restores SP

So the rot you've mentioned before works just fine

6. Use as many as you want whenever you need more stamina, they're pretty useless in the endgame

• It gave HoFi herself the Astral Ring Specialization Rite of Oblivion when her dkey is equipped which boosted her dmg output in the trio team (HoFi HoTr HoO)
  • It's also worth noting that HoTr and HoO received changes to their stigs to allow them to support in HoFis Astral Ring team.
• Being RoO means she is good for supporting fellow RoO valkyries as they often want triple RoO teams
• She also has the Domain resonance tag for detonating anchors on World Star teams and she's actually pretty good at that because she is fast.
• HoFi's dkey also allows her to support HoO which has its niche uses for img bosses since HoO is pretty good for smashing img cores (niche though, and pretty much wants SS)

just saying that there couldve been more testing for affixes to confirm that atk is better instead of carelessly dismissing the fact that the element affixes is weaker just because its not tested
