I heard for the ani they are giving a choice between another unit and truth bronya. I recall when I played long time ago that unit and it was really cool and I might log back to pick her up. But I would like to know if its worth to keep going from there. Afaik she's probably ultra out of the meta like most older units in this game... and if she wasnt I cant get her fully equipped so not gonna be worth again... right ?

In the case I was to start playing again I remember this discord reccomended restarting accounts all the time unless you were ultra invested... which I think it's my case lol. I had adult griseo fully equipped , pardo and HoS. Nothing more of importance as far as I can recall. So that would be a restart right ? because I didnt play a lot but I dont feel like grinding back to where I was.... UNLESS truth bronya can be useful then that would be a different situation lol. I also dropped all my gems before going away to remove second thoughts so it's probably going to be resting on bronya being good or not lol

New account would be better simply cause of the crystals that's give a headstart into picking up new units.

Neither units from the box are good for your situation, one is the older ely that is only recently saved by the fact that she got a divine key, the other is hotr who's main supporting role is not one your account (as well as new ones) can take advantage of and nor is it impactful in the current meta.

In a nutshell HoHe will most likely be the better pick either for the dkey advantage in the case you ever backpull (not that it is a rec) or because she seems like the better option for budget dps.
But go ahead and choose whoever you like more since the choice is overall not that impactful for your situation.

you are right in the assumption that she isnt as essential to the meta anymore
hotr still has some use cases but very rarely (such as herrscher trio since hofi dkey gave the team another resurgence as well as with fov in p1 starless weathers, very rarely occurs (last weather was the most recent example)

whether you want to get back into the game or not is up to you, you can remain a casual player and use hotr however you wish
ofc if you have any competitive goals (assuming that is why you asked about the meta) it would be much better to focus on the newer units as well as start fresh as beginner rewards and progression has been improved drastically

regarding the units you already owned, ce (adult griseo) has no use cases anymore, pardo has no use cases anymore outside of beginner use cases, senti has very little to no use cases however she can brute force some weathers if she had her dkey, which is not obtainable at this point if you didnt already have it
also when we say "very invested" it usually means that the player has limited time rewards from non-reoccuring events that they would like to keep with them

HLE means Hi Love Elf which is the name of the next elysia battlesuit next patch. We don't really refer to character names because it gets confusing when the character has multiple forms

"Shill" is a word referring to how the game can change and create situations to cater to/emphasize/suit something in particular

Abyss and Memorial Arena are the main competitive contents in the game that constantly changes over time. Abyss is the main mode to focus on because you get more crystals for doing well against other players in it.

Generally abyss tends to feature content that will more emphasize the latest release

so you may see more new content that wants ice dps, or SD typing, or wants the Grail ring type, all of these that the new Elysia will have

is this is a box you can keep in your inventory? It doesn't seem like it but if so, then you may just opt to keep it for collection purposes. it's more unique than anything else in it.

The valks in the box are all farmable in war treasury iirc. If you have to pick something then pick the most costly option if possible.

Senti is an awakening valk so her ratios of AL per cost per rank up is going to be different from the rest. There might be marginal efficiency from that difference (i haven't ran the math to know which way though)

but overall it doesn't matter too much since none of these valks have great meta purposes anymore and they haven't added new farmables to the game, so AL/AW aren't as valuable anymore

F2p meta wise I do not recommend catching up on Badum/Fiery Wishing Star Kiana. Crystal income for a f2p is too limited to keep up with every new release, but the biggest value to spend your crystals are going to be new releases (valk and weapon together)

However we will have a rerun banner next patch called carnival. We will get 20 free valk tickets to only use there so you can chance at her then with no loss.
Pity from these banners do not carry over to anything once they expire so if you intend to spend further crystals then make sure you have enough to reach guarantee.

if you ever want to just appreciate FWS animations and gameplay, don't forget we can access her even if you don't own her via the tutorials. Attack > event tab > tactics class

if you're willing to wait then as time goes on, older valks will become more available in other ways. Around the one year mark maybe they'll become available in spending events or paid battle pass. Around the two year mark if they start to be replaced in the meta they may even become farmable or added to the perm pool in dorm banner.

Basically four valks wiill rerun throughout its duration. Each valk is only available for a few days. The banner will cycle across each valk twice before it completely goes away. I think pity is retained across these 4 cycling valks but again it carries over to nothing else once carnival is done. Not even to the next carnival.

phase shifters have many sources. largely from realms of battle boxes

a purpose of beta is to playtest so to a degree it makes sense for it to exist there at least.

i won't deny that having info from training mode is valuable. I've constantly recommended wyverein's channel as a result. Check that out if you haven't yet. They're not perfect but it's a good place to get some general data.

But overall as stea said, things from it often are limited in how much we can apply to real situations. I can recite numerous cases like CE vs Eden for LV dps, HoTr vs LV for Mobius dps, or even HFi vs FWS for WS teams where HFi's animations can be good or bad for the run. (FWS and CE needing hitable targets can be awkward for some fights)
The nature of the game in having highly diverse situations, and possibly emphasizing every point in your score more calls for testing in the real scenario than a general simulated one. But you can argue why can't we just have both and I would very much agree with you.

Similar points can be made for other games but ultimately that doesn't mean anything to this one and is off topic.

Also @verbal kraken not quite the same but if you just need a non-beta place to practice attack sequences, the final stage of each valk's tutorial usually lets you play as long as you like with a preset trial team and lets you refill stellar outburst/restore sp with ease. Ofc this isn't damage measurements and you can't freely change units to practice specific swaps but it might still be of use when practicing complicated single character stuff like thelema sequences or lantern outburst tech

waiting out the ai chan tutorial initially is a hassle though

but a good way to spot a potential timegated event is figuring out the type of resource system

the previous patch's main event didn't have any of that and just a stage to stage approach, only limited by separate release dates for each chapter

meanwhile an event like the Peregrine Sword event only allowed you to farm a limited amount of ingredients every day, which is how a timegate system can be easily spotted

You go to attack -> material expeditions for dailies, that gives you Alloy and XP and Gear XP and Asterite and advanced skill materials. Once you've levelled up enough, there's a 3x weekly reset where you can spend stamina to unlock open world missions for fragments or materials

if you haven't levelled up enough to unlock those, you can either do part 1 story to level up more, or just do expeditions for battlesuit fragments (click the expedition button in the dorm)

with how the astral ring system works, you can put together multiple teams from only a few valkyries

because as mentioned earlier, any astral ring valk can function as either a dps or a support depending on how they are placed in the team. The leader is always the dps

i don't really recommend that strict approach because as time goes on, especially if they make a new ring type, HLE won't relate to the newest releases. For now we don't have any news of that

on the other hand you don't need everything related to HLE. Supports for a specific leader ring type can be pretty close in performance nowadays that getting more (especially if you want to backpull for them) is marginal in benefits (with worse opportunity costs)

but i'm getting ahead of myself

please make sure you understand how part 2 (astral ring) team building works first

at the highest competitive tiers of the game, the marginal difference across specific support options can matter, but there's no sense in planning for that if you are pulling inefficiently and can't even reach there

i'm going to warn up upfront now, new players aren't going to have the foundation to make HLE function properly. It's a problem for most new valks.

this is because of how the new team building system works. Nowadays it all depends on ring types and tags

whoever you place as leader determines the dps of the team, and the properties of that leader determines what kind of dps or team playstyle it is

so HLE deals ice damage, has SD typing (lets her counter SD enemies and is non countered otherwise), and her ring type is "grail of infinitude"

don't focus on the meaning of the words of that ring type name. it's nonsense

but when you see grail you need to know two things

• this grail playstyle wants the team to spam ults and restore mass sp
• this ring type matches specifically with the "symbiosis" tag. Again the name meaning is nonesense. Just know that's what it matches with. Grail + Symbiosis.

so for an HLE leader who is grail ring, you want supports that have "symbiosis".

The problem for new players is there are no farmable ones. So you can't have a fully functioning grail HLE team at the start. It'll be awkward for a while until you pull other gachas for more

Symbiosis is very important for grail leaders because that's how the team restores massive sp

for the second support, i'm not fully sure yet. You can pick up Prometheus (Terminal Aide 0017) or Shigure Kira (sugary starburst) from asterite shop for now possibly.

both of these supports can provide slight buff/debuff effects while staying completely off field

for shigure kira, you'll need to turn OFF envoy of paradise in her skills
