abyss and memorial arena change a bit after level 81 which you reach after about a month, arena is the same for everyone but you have the option to get a lot more damage in exchange for a score decrease and you get marginal rewards based off percentile with the important stuff being very achievable, abyss goes from promoting/demoting based on clearing in a specific time to being based on how you do compared to other people in your bracket which is random players in the same abyss tier

Im playing a Sushang Vita and fireworks kiana team with sushang as party leader, whats the proper way to rotate in this team

generally speaking though, a general rot would be to start with vita to apply her buffs, and switching between ps combos and fws to charge ari fast
(fws only needing to use her weapon skill to allow sushang to trigger her qte instantly)

you can see vita's buff uptime in the bottom of your screen (above your hp) when its about 1/4th of the way left you would opt to switch back into vita to re-apply her buffs
keep in mind triggering stellar outburst will also refresh vita's buffs uptime

There's 2 stages to it, you craft the spirit (red background weapon) into a bounty weapon, then you can convert (not salvage) that weapon into weapon resonance

This will enable their sync which provides +10 atk to all your valks

There are 2 more foundry craftable dkeys mentioned in the pinned message for foundry as well

Fenghuang pinions and Abyss
These can be ignored unless you are picking up fenghuang down and abyss flower from the bp respectively

So don't feel pressured to craft them right now

Since by themselves they do nothing

You can choose to pick up utu or toe from the bp first since you already own their sync partners from realms of battle

This is the best improvement towards upgrading your valks since atk is universal for all your valks (the next best thing is to pick up valks from war treasury to improve your dorm level which provides more account buffs)

LV doesn't get anymore banners but she's getting added to the bp next ver. However you either have to buy it twice or wait 2 patches and buy once to get her, doesn't include gear ofc so all she'll be is a bridge valk.

Most Kiana and Theresa suits are farmable and just take a bit of time to get but ig you probably want something recent.
If so you can aim for Badum Kiana who'll get rerun within 1-2 patches probably, and Sleepy Teri (though a rerun is unknown/unlikely to happen apart from ascension supply)

i don't think anyone mentioned these but

• story and events can be enjoyed without needing new gacha units and doesn't require you to build anything costly/long term. Cheaply invested units can handle early story, and eventually both just gives you trial valks that are workable. Story is gated by stamina but stamina also isn't really important and you do get alot of stamina drinks early on, so you're free to sink alot of time binging on the story too. Maybe that can fit your break period.
  • the main modes of the game are arguably abyss, arena, and elysian realm where you do need your own valks which is how the gacha is still relevant. There's more to say about these in terms of long term meta/casual but i'll leave it aside for now since your interest seems more short term.
• while LV may not be available for you to get for the short term (unless you pay for an upcoming battle pass), the game does offer a tutorial section where you can try out and play most valks in the game even if you don't own them. Maybe you can at least appreciate LV there.

Do note a valk's typing alone is only a small portion of how their coverage may be emphasized. There's plenty of other aspects to consider including element, ring type, tags, and other properties.

I'm so confused and need some clarification, if a new P2 character is coming out, I need to get her and her weapon, and use characters that support that AR. But then I'm told not to 'backpull' on those characters because they are no longer competitive...? And if that's the case, when looking at the "Should I pull?" pin says to not pull the new character like PS at the moment. With what's being said here and there it feels like I shouldn't pull on any character's banner because I don't have the right supports and it's not recommended to pull rerunning characters, so all I'm left with is older P2 characters; Vita and Sparkle and the 2 farmable ones that don't(?) synergize well with new AR. Sorry for the long paragraph...

at this current point, new releases are definitely awkward for new players because their supports that are compatible with their AR are not farmable.

The no backpull recommendation still stands because future valks can still have tags to support older AR types.

You have to get started somewhere and eventually so you can pull for the next new valk and work with her awkwardly the best you can until a later new release is compatible with her. It's a hurdle for newer players atm.

In your particular case where you already have some valks to work with but aren't compatible, you can try to work with what you have for now without helia while waiting to assess for info of the next valk after helia in case that future valk is more suitable and a smoother transition for your roster. (assuming you can only afford one of the two)

If you do end up picking up Helia you can try to use Coralie and Vita since they're both RoO and will partially benefit Helia.

LoA is still recent so you won't miss out on too much longevity aside from the initial patch shill. Your current roster can at least support it well, and the valks of LoA can support the upcoming new ring type.

But the reason why I say to wait is to mainly to assess how important helia would be to supporting the releases of the future assuming you can get two valks.

you'll be dealing with a period of low performance with pulling helia but possibly a spike in performance later if she winds up important

whereas you'll be dealing with a more mid performance with backpulling something like FWS but possibly a not as huge spike with a future valk after helia if helia winds up important

you may consider hohe dkey too if that banner hasn't expired yet assuming you already own her but

the main appeal is that you're only paying 60 pulls for a p2 unit at that point that has WoD ring type but also tags for WoD, LoA, and new ring type

as well as global 10 atk since it's a dkey

however hohe as a leader dps really wants thelema in her matchups

as a support she's very lackluster for WoD and LoA unless she's fighting tank for weakpoint vulnerability (this current weather)

for new ring type ||i'm not fully sure yet but it seems she's quite situationally best and respectable. Please do double check before deciding from this||

so the 40k number i said is because

90 pulls for valk minus 5 with first ten pull discount so that's 85 pulls
60 pulls for weapon

145 pulls total. x 280 crystals = 40600

in you case that would be 62 and 42. I'll let you math from there to determine your aimed full guarantee costs.

Obviously this is unlikely luck but it still does happen and you don't want to be caught on it.

if you really want the valk but don't have enough to full guarantee, then pull recommendation pins should already cover what to do. Stay above weapon pity while pulling on valk banner. If you get lucky on valk then you can still guarantee weapon.

the worst you can do is to forcibly pull and get only a valk without their weapon or vice versa. The popular meta standard is to have both and performing below that standard is... i wouldn't it's impossible but it's likely that you wouldn't be too far off from not having what you pulled at all.

Material wise, getting to max captain level takes roughly a month. While it's possible to run out of any resource in this game like in any other hoyo game, I don't think they are as great as a concern as long as you're conservative about it and only spend them on what you should for the meta. Characters in this game generally use the same resources and you don't need to concern with newly added materials and needing to deliberately farm for a particular material.

• There are many resources in this game since it's old with many systems. Some of these systems may have some kind of time gate or grind to them but generally speaking they're not high priority or important (foundry, exchange shop, war treasury, etc)

In terms of catching up in the story, HI3 is an older game and may have more not so modern permanent content to do. I can imagine that being grindier but at this point all games have quite alot to catch up on if you're starting fresh.

another thing people may be referring to are resetting attempts to clear content. HI3 can really be an example of this if you're highly competitive since you're competing against other players. Some people spend hours getting their high scores.

Also while substats (affixes) exist in this game, their main importance is lategame in high tier abyss. Most players can largely settle for something modest and decent in amount (or not bother at all, esp if very early on). Affixes just aren't going to usually matter when what's separating you from other players are differences in gacha team members, gacha equipment, or even how well you play.
-# i would say substats don't actually matter as much as people stress them out to be in other hoyo games too but that's besides the point.

As for actual comparison (which hardly compares really), affixes in HI3 only take 2 lines in this game with 3 pieces of equipment for 6 lines to adjust in total. You don't get dupes of the equipment to reroll lines either. You simply spend specific consumables (normal crystal cores) for reroll your affix stats.
It also has consumables (wafer stabilizers) to let you lock lines to make maximizing a equip piece easier, but income of this lock material can be bottlenecked depending on how competitive you are and how much you spend them.

ELF's basically a battlepet that gives passive buffs as well as an ult that does damage and provides a specific effect like reducing swap cd, gathering enemies etc based on the ELF

AstralOp is another version of the system with all the passive buffs stuff (no ult) but in this case they have skills that restore astral ring intensity faster (at max intensity you enter a massive enhanced mode depending on your team leader)

hi3 meta long term does heavily stress maintaining regular activity so you may want to take a more casual approach where backpulls and what you personally are interested in can become more acceptable.

I wouldn't say it's impossible to achieve being meta but you'll definitely have to really prioritize limited crystal income sources and abyss.

Also keep in mind if you just want to check out certain valks even if you don't own them, attack > events tab > tactics class can access all recent valks.

Earn profit by checking which item's price is red in next cycle and buy them now, prioritizing the higher change in prices. When u have a hefty number of money and warehouse slot u can consider stocking up items to wait for their red day

For example in SEA, arahato price is 22444 atm, so i am currently on cycle 16. Next cycle 17 red items with high price differences are Bear Doll, Self-heating Meal, Speaker

but alot of these sources are only more available once your account more matures. You may have other priorities for your asterite and coins for now.

I really do not recommend working on affixes from what I know of your account situation. I would mainly consider it when you're at high RL or nirvana in abyss.

If you just want to play all the new valks, you can try them out for free in attack > events tab > tactics class

if you have a particular favorite in mind we can discuss more in detail how you can focus on her although don't expect strong performance. This game encourages you to expand to a wide roster

if you see yourself playing regularly in the long term and want to focus more on maximizing your crystal income and being competitive in the meta, then what i said in the other channel would apply

the overall idea is to plan and save enough to guarantee both valk and weapon (one copy of each) before the banner goes away

competitively speaking, weapons are still very important in this game for the valk's damage and functionality.
