if you want kiana specifically, you can pull the new kiana on a fresh account and get her weapon, that way your account is caught up and has an actual unit instead of copium

otherwise save for now and focus on prioritising newer unit pulls

if you wanna play for part 1 specifically, then expect to do bad damage and farm for a while to get their old gear (which wont work in abyss)

even then the overlap with meta and foundry is mostly dkeys which are very marginal, as long as you keep some ether fuel reserved for p2 stigs it shouldn't be a problem

if you're talking about gene limit you can only activate one side at a time. Beware turning these on involve a coin cost and is only a small buff for a limited period of time. Once on, you can freely swap between left or right during this activated duration. For people in this channel, i recommend pinching your pennies so to speak and leaving gene limit alone (leave it off)

Im wondering if Vitas ult has a switch feature or something along those lines. Recently when I switch from Sushang to Vita, I attempt to ult with vita but instead it switches back to Sushang. This itself isn't that bad but when it switches to Sushang, any time I attempt to use her skill it just puts it on cooldown and whenever the cooldown resets it doesn't work.

Is there anything I need / ought to rush for farming? I've gotten the impression that there's a lot of weekly resetting content, between abyss and mirage and RoB and Time Works, but I've gotten the impression there are a bunch more I don't have access to, like the elysian realm?
Is there any limited time events I need to work on besides snazzy cards and yunchin? I think I'm doing fairly well in those and have finished the spaceship thing, but I have heard events are pretty time gated and get harder to finish if you don't promptly start them.
Is there a method to the madness of the shops? It seems like there are a billion of them each asking for different resources I only sort of know how to get so I've been ignoring most of them until I understand the game better, but this is probably suboptimal.
I have heard that rolling shouldn't be done until you have a banner where you can also pull a valkyrie's signature weapon and stigmata, but also that I shouldn't invest in low level battlesuits or weapons or stigma. Is one of these wrong? Or if not, is there a reccomended way to continue clearing harder content when most of my suits are (as I understand it) heavily powercrept?

elysian realm is the last resetting content you unlock at 50 but you'll get it before the end of the week, adventure tasks unlock at level 40 which are quite good and reset 3x a week
you're early enough in the patch that you can skip events for now but doing dailies usually makes it take less time total
main shops that matter are elysian shop, asterite shop, training shop, and event shops for now, other stuff is relevant but not important until later
you're new and early enough in the patch that you can pull for sushang and be able to guarantee her weapon even if you hit hard pity but to avoid having to grind more than you want to you can pull with xtals in excess of 16.8k so you dont end up with a weaponless valk
if you havent unlocked elysian realm yet it's not even really possible to spend too many resources on valks that don't matter, investment just means stuff like phase shifters, honkai shards, asms, etc, not really xp or coins. coralie is a very serviceable early game dps since you also get her weapon for free and you'll use her in endgame for a decent amount of time

expedition valks are the most outdated and least useful. They are bottom priority if you have nothing else to spend stam on and only really offer the benefits of reaching the A rank limit in dorm menu for passive bonuses. This limit is shared with valks in the asterite shop which are more useful early on

in this game, a valk with their signature weapon is a meta standard. Valks without their weapons can lose alot of personal damage and sometimes even important utility for their gameplay flow.

The meta is emphasized because of higher crystal income from abyss later on from performing well against other players.

However despite all this there may be scenarios where you wouldn't want to continue pulling for a weapon upon getting lucky with an early valk roll

• if the valk in particular is a pretty old release (roughly speaking of a previous ring type) then you may not expect mileage from catching up with their weapon at this point
• rarely the valk can find decent uses without their weapon too
• maybe you get a valk you're not interested in from a discounted ten pull early in your pity (if you're late in your pity you may more consider skipping the discount). This esp applies if you have low crystals and if the next valk afterwards is of interest.

The ideal long term competitive option is eventually to pick a max stat affix when you're well developed and find a endgame scenario that really calls for it. The bot post i'm replying to also mostly applies to your case if you want other considerations.

it's not really direct power creep. A new valk usually keep some sort of niche in the meta for roughly two years. It's more about long term mileage and relevancy. You want the biggest bang for the crystals so you don't want to pull a valk that's already several months old and closer to losing her top meta places/or is already niche where her top uses more rarely show up.

Newer valks tend to support each other too whereas older valks may or may not be as compatible with each other.

Later on, you'll see situations in abyss change to favor specific team comps. A particular new release will have more representation in abyss early on their release patch too so it's recommended to pull a valk early in the patch to mileage off that. (You can see the schedule of the abyss schedule for cap lv 81+ aka exalted in #💁gameplay-help pins)

Edit: A meta focused account wants to keep up with enough latest valk+weapon together (you may have to skip here and there) that they can cover a variety of scenarios. As time goes on, the older meta will fall off and you'll "catch up" that way.

depends on what other units you own, she is part 1 ice support so if you have units like hohe or sw she can be very beneficial (for beginners-midgame players)
