So if you're already greatly behind using anything else, you're prob not going to see much benefit in spending resources trying to close the gap between best and non best weapons slightly via maxing out the non best ones

Flying Fish abyss generally wants a bio type dps and also some way to trigger stun status on the team. The main ways to apply stun was with RS (durandal) and maybe XDC mei but you don't seem to have either and may have to ignore that gimmick of the fight.

The primary option would be PAWS dps but since she's weaponless you're expecting a 30-40% dps drop with other weapons. Similar goes for Sushang dps (and the boss is very resilient against bleed status anyway which makes up a good portion of PS Sushang's damage)

Maybe try SW since she has type counter but her lack of ranks is a bit concerning (she's old and farmable. We expect her at higher ranks now.)

Otherwise maybe you can try HLE dps.

I would start with songque.

If you recognize a need for initial ARI maybe see if Teri can be better? (less damage overall but going into outburst earlier can become more damage that way in some cases)

Hieu le's reference prob has entropy at worst but the fight shouldn't change too much.

If you don't need to rush into outburst but need more outburst damage maybe try kiana.

but situations where that paralyze is emphasized are quite few. It's a niche like many other things in the game

maybe you have plenty of damage and just need faster animations

so weaponless PAWS can overtake vita that way

keep in mind HI3 is a very dynamic game. Scenarios don't stay the same in abyss. The disturbance system makes bosses slightly different every time. Every account can differ slightly in numbers from each other too due to affixes, dorm dkey stats, dorm squad, emblems, etc

while more major things like teammate choices and weapons can generalize things on a macro level, don't tunnel vision yourself preemptively. Try to stay open to all your options

all that said, i would still default to vita and rita first assuming nothing else. Then bring in paws if you need to try paralyze or faster animation speed or something

@fresh hill oh i forgot this abyss cycle's weather was extreme (basically emphasizes Grail ring types)

so i guess that might make HLE your main suggestion. Type counter bonus for a low ranked SW doesn't sound worth it compared to losing the weather bonus.

You can still try out PAWS dps but as said ealrier to the other person i was helping, not having her weapon incurs a 30-40% dps loss that prob off sets the 30% type counter bonus.

• the ult when fish spawned didn't hit so time that better you only need ult x 2 + WA to proc stun, also generally for the whole run you can just swap out after casting WA no need to do the basics Afterwards just spam the next input so you immediately do it once WA animation is over

• in SO it's actually enough to just WA -> WA with Mei and you get a stun proc

• also see if it's worth it to still swap to fdd in your second SO and ult with her after Mei the 3/3 FoI DMG increase is quite nice

• if you end up needing to refresh your buffs after your second SO consider doing 1 BA sequence before ending SO

Also deactivate Mei qte it's basically a waste of time

if the valk is not a new release but you already have her, i would more advise you to skip her weapon. Crystal income for f2p/light spenders is limited and you already cannot on average keep up with every new release as is. Meta value of a valk declines over time and being meta is notable for increasing your crystal gain from abyss.

While a weaponless valk may lose alot of personal damage and maybe some utility, some that doesn't lose any critical utility can still be appreciated for support purposes. For older valks their dps scenarios won't show up as often anymore either.

Although beware this doesn't apply to much older valks like hohe or sw who need their newest weapons to gain astral ring effects.

Nothing wrong with playing for collection though but just be mindful of your limited budget and the trade offs of making any non meta decisions. Can always find your own balance of non-meta and meta as well.

What do you mean by rotation? Loosely speaking for most teams you just want to set up support effects, and then deal dps damage until those effects run out. Also trigger all your stellar drains so you reach outburst sooner if necessary.

But if you're asking in the context of arena, then you're also prioritizing moves that gives you suspended animations and time fracture to stall the timer as much as possible too. (for abyss you can't stall the timer with these methods)

EDIT: Optimizing a fight means to find the fastest sequence that can best fit into the boss hp. • Surplus state has its own meter. Depending on how much more ARI is gained at specific thresholds...

  • more buffs and/or debuffs are applied only for this state.
  • separate buffs and/or debuffs are applied upon entering SO.

• Stellar Surplus has different effects in different Astral Ring Specializations:

  • WoD: If the character enabling the Surplus state is the leader, filling one bar will allow that leader to use a Phantom support attack outside of SO and start a short Rondo.

NA for normal attack isn't hi3 terminology btw.
Is there a QTE before that? Ult ult isn't enough sp from a single WA BA
Anyway i assume this is merely an example but just know XDC doesn't always opt for this sequence. She has various ways to accumulate sp and you would want to know how situationally each would be best. #💁gameplay-help message

As for SW loosely speaking QTE'ing her in would start her on her meter.
With that meter draining down, her barrier would remain up and attacks that passes through it (basics and weapons) would be enhanced. Attacking enough into her sequence will cause her to end with a particularly strong attack. (denoted by a flashing basic attack icon+time fracture)

• when dealing with hitcount shields you would want to know what part of your basic attacks can deal high hitcount and prime up your sequence so they occur when the shield is up
  You can end this meter at any time by holding attack. This cinematic attack does cost time though (but has sus ani for Arena)
  If you have her ult, you can use it to restore her meter. Ult has time stop.
  If SW is leader and you charge one bar into surplus state, you can press a glowing weapon button to gain 4 resonance attacks that you just mash through.

Obviously this isn't a complete guide of all her mechanics but that's mainly what you need to know.

as far as learning this on your own goes, i do agree in game tutorials as of late have been doing excessive ai chan demonstrations that don't do a good job of introducing you. However I don't really have a primary place for this. Use the tutorials to get a loose idea of what actions SW can do. From there try searching high level play and references and trying to copy off of them. Then try to understand each of these inputs and actions from reading ingame skill descriptions or asking around.

before her new dkey i know SW has a small basic attack cancel she can do with evade or WA but i don't remember the details. Not sure if it's viable with her new dkey.

although some of these ranks are quite high like your thelema. Did you got lucky on carnival or raffle or something?

I do not recommend spending crystals for additional valk ranks unless you're very whale and know what you're getting out of it. Especially not ascension banner.

generally S0 valk and synergy 1 weapon if you can get them together (if not then just skip) is what i mainly recommend for most people who are looking to retain RL

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

sinful (1-3): old accounts that dont play, very old accounts that just came back

i know the game shares the same honkai label and are from the same devs but they are released at very different times. There's alot of similarities but also alot of differences. The main problem is trying to assume conclusions from these similarities can lead you to costly mistakes instead

• Crit is phys (non-bleed) only in this game. Some players come in thinking it's something they need to build for elementals when it does nothing there.
• Dorm banner might be analogous to standard banner in HSR but the way you approach it is very different. You mainly wait for spending events in this game. The way you get tickets for dorm banner is different too.
• Gacha banners work very differently. There's no 50/50 here. The costs and numbers are different so you have to recalibrate how you think of your numbers (9k crystals is only roughly 30 rolls rather than 56ish in HSR)
• Mechanics at a deep level are different. While Res pen and breach may sound similar in concept there's a few differences to understand #💁gameplay-help message

i'm not saying appropriate comparisons in the games are impossible but if you're not well versed in the game i would personally recommend treating hi3 as very separate entirely

• PAWS is a backpull. backpulling means pulling on a rerun banner. not recommended in this game because of the sheer powercreep + limited xtal generation.
