Depends a bit on how many locks you have compared to NCCs but 22+ is sensible to not run out of them too fast in my experience.

• at red lotus, S rank AOs are a consideration, but only if you want consistent top 3. you can get by with DW still, but its not consistent (perfectly skippable if you have like SS+ units)
• at nirvana, you need SS minimum, and pray only 5 players max have 9S +9 with SSS ao. and 3 are 6s +6, SS AO. at that point, you have a slot for 3S +1 with SS AO.

i wouldn't even say S ops are a consideration nor would i say they can make top 3 consistent. Top 3 RL can often be nirvana dropouts that already have SS ops. Rather than paying a partial cost that doesn't push you significantly, i rather you skip so you can save more towards an actual big push

Allow me to explain, Captain!

"Attributes" refers to tags that every Part 2 Valkyrie has, allowing them to provide benefits for multiple Astral Ring Specializations. Each Valkyrie usually has more than one Attribute.

Each one of the Astral Ring types has one associated Attribute that will make a Valkyrie synergize well with that AR type.
These Attributes are:

• Harmonized Shadow Star (related to [Wheel of Destiny](#👶beginner-help message))

I think you just need to read through the faqs to understand how astral ring works tbh. It's not too difficult of a concept: you pick your leader, look at what their Astral Ring Specialization is, then pick supports that have the corresponding attribute. Like Xentinel is GoI , she requires supports with the Symbiosis trait

or RoO valkyries can activate it regardless

Should also work with Horb when you get another ult due to killing mobs

Pt 2 isn't really a constant state of things. It's just a simpler distinction we use to denote a notable change in the game's system. But meta wise the trend of the initial peak value, then to the decline of a valk's relevance to the meta is still not that different from p1 overall.

Frankly everything gravitate towards niches once you have a wide enough roster. Every new release gets a few niches. It's not just some. This is how they keep a wide cast relevant.

The pt 2 valks you're saying that aren't as good now possibly are referring to older ones (e.g., Senadina) who naturally are gradually falling off the meta, being replaced by stronger options and/or don't see as much of their bosses in abyss anymore.

There are some exceptions. Maybe you're thinking of valks like Lantern or Theresa who still can be appreciated, but overall were relatively less appealing than other close releases.

It overall feels there might be a disconnect between us because each of our understanding of the meta and the value of valks are different? If I'm trying to read between the lines and give you a more catered but possibly more flawed answer:

SW will be best as dps for the handful of situation of what's she is made for. Other latest p2 valks wouldn't be as relevant in such scenarios. As a support, she's currently the only one that gives stellar surplus to world star teams and will prob be a common best pick in those specific cases. However, I do not expect her to be as widely used as "big releases" such as new years kiana or mei, or dragon coralie or vita.

but really i discourage you to read deeply into this answer and try to better understand what i said before that. (don't go pulling reruns of mei/kiana/vita/coralie because of this. That's bad long term value and not recommended anymore. Don't only focus on big releases. You can afford more than that if you play regularly. It's not the end of the world if you miss a "big release" either)

On paper I think you might be better off using teri as a support to a fire dps such as lantern. While teri has the type counter bonus, that's only roughly 30% while the weather bonus is probably bigger

vita actually can deal decent enough hitcount that you may even kick off lantern from the team in favor of a stronger support
