i actually do not advocate puling for FDD's weapon if you don't already have it. That's still potentially up to 60 pulls that can be used elsewhere like a newer valk. FDD's dps scenarios aren't as common anymore, and she can support solidly enough without the weapon.

but there's no true answer in a vacuum. What matters is if whatever attack you gain from using those actually makes a difference for the fight, and furthermore for your rankings or not (and even further does it change your tier and rewards)

• use it when you know it matters

The reason why PAWS weapon is NOT recommended at this point is because

• Usually weapons are generally important and not skippable due to
  • 30-40% personal damage
  • sometimes they might have important utility

however this is mainly for new releases. For a rerun...

• if you're f2p or light spending, you don't have enough crystals to pull everything. The opportunity cost at that point lean more towards new releases for overall long term mileage.
• PAWS is now a rerun. Her dps scenarios don't show up as often anymore. She doesn't need her weapon for support role purposes.

Astral ring team building is intimidating at first but once you realize it's just matching something to something else, it's very simple

FDD's weapon does have a chunky team boost that as a support can improve damage by 12-14%. Not having it can make her fall behind other similar options but, until you reach high tiers of the game, that difference isn't going to be worth the potentially 60 pulls you need to spend for it

and just like paws, her dps scenarios are rare now

the weapon otherwise doesn't have any active utility that changes her gameplay

it depends a bit on the boss but generally i'd be
hle+fdd+fws/paws/ps depending on the boss
fws is who you'd use most of the time since quite a bit of HLE shill are SD bosses and FWS can also interact with the mechanics of those, and FWS is quite fast
Paws was used for symphony weathers
PS was used for kalpas to clear his HC shield

In the end as long as you have a compatible team with HLE ( HLE + 2 symbioses supports) it doesnt matter that much and you should be fine in RL and below

for f2ps not really tbh, a valks value peaks at their release ( 2 patches ago) and f2ps cant really afford to backpull older chars since they want to keep up with newer releases, if you're more on the casual side i'm not totally opposed to pull HLE out of personal reasons since she does have a decent amount of coverage and covers a relatively annoying niche.

though fws/paws/fdd case is a bit different from HLE's, while especially fws/fdd still see a decent amount of usage as a support we cant really say how long that'll still last since fws is already 1 old and her DPS use cases have slowly decreased over the past year. fdd is kinda in the same situation where she's a rather niche DPS but does see use as a GoI support quite a bit, though once GoI DPSs stop releasing this use case will also decrease. Paws is in a spot where her DPS use cases are also kinda rare and she doesnt really see a lot of use as a support either so it's a bit questionable to backpull her

also keep in mind that we get 20 free pulls for the carnival banners so you could get lucky and get fws/fdd, for more info on that check the carnival guide pinned in #👶beginner-help by lyo

@half hatch also i didn't do swap into supports and ult during so since i felt it wouldn't change the kill time much and would just be slower

in p1 use your WA after the qte, it's faster than BA4 and if you're doing it early you can prob use WA for your 4th ult again
then at the end of p1 just ult instead of doing some random basics
i'd also try to go to your supports after mei 3rd CA then after both ultest go back to mei do like 1 ult and then use the finisher

also have you tried LV ? you'd prob save some time with the ult SO if you'd do that

||Silverwing NEX Dkey costs 60 pulls, or 17k cystals. There are 2 week between mei banner end and end of patch, and dkey banner is expect to last 4-6 weeks, so worst case scenario (you get mei wep last day with no crystals left and it's 4 weeks) you only need to get 3k crystals a week. That's a bit tight but should be achievable if you play actively, since you have a bunch of one time sources untapped, and most likely you're luckier than that.||
