Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

but the reality of gacha ops is you generally don't have enough of a lengthy fight to appreciate their benefits strongly until nirvana tier

I don't have any rita examples but you can see across numerous fights that Sera, or any gacha op doesn't significantly improve RL scores. DS scores are already generally retainable.

At any rate Sera is also considerably older than others by now. We haven't had any cases of gacha ops being replaced for their ring types yet but if it ever happens, sera might be one of the earlier ones.

Rita has surplus mechanics where overcharging on ARI wil let her perform rondo effects without being in outburst.

The initial ARI and extra regen from sera can let her achieve this sooner.

Whether reaching this sooner is important or not will depend on the fight.

• rushing to an early surplus + outburst may not be too different from delaying to a later surplus + outburst.
  • Are you still dealing their full durations to the boss with no interruptions like a boss phase change?
  • are these overlapping with time specific vulnerability periods on the boss?
  • do you have room to reach a second surplus/outburst? especially when doing the first set earlier?
• maybe in some cases the timing of when you enter surplus state may disrupt you when you meant to swap teammates

sera helps the team's damage too of course but this may not be as major as managing ARI depending on the fight.

the start u just either evade at 994 and then press ult after u got the evade off which is 993
or you jump and ult at 993

afterwards with s2 thel, u just do thel combo + one attack and swap into rita

rita you ultied very soon at the start but i prob wouldn't do that, instead after your first combo atk on rita, consider atk -> evade weap -> this would get u enough ring intensity to use a phantom

after the phantom, do your ult w/e to finish the boss i have no idea how much hp will be left, so you just figure it out

doing two basics which then lets you do weap skill three times,
but just do two times because the third weap skill has a follow up atk thats quite slow,
then you can do ur other phantom and do ult weap to finish everything, or if you need extra dmg, do a combo before it

You are slightly early so the initial attack from dreamseeker on activation of SO doesn't hit the balls only the clone. But the timing is quite specific. I personally just don't bother and do HLE WA ULT before but this of course loses time.

What’s the best way of figuring out how to rotate a team, just generally speaking?

Because it seems like Yt videos is great, but they’re for more specific use cases

this is going to sound like a cop out answer but asking for a universal best is kinda ridiculous when everyone is different. Often the way i work here is working with the individual too

optimizing is always going to be a specific case by case sort of basis (you're trying to find a best fit to the enemy's hp). Every fight is different. Every account is different. It can be from revising from an existing general rotation or even from a specific reference

in some cases you may even figure it out bit by bit from the ground up and there is no rotation or reference at all. Some fights may even push you to break conventions

but of course doing that requires underlying understanding of the game's mechanics

maybe you're asking more about how to get started? there's a number of methods i tell people for that. The bottom are not necessarily step by step but they can be

• tutorial in game. Not to study rigidly from, but to see the moves your valk can do and how they can be strung together.
• watching a reference or some high level play to further reinforce from the above. Maybe even across multiple to cross reference between them, either to see what they commonly do, or how they can deviate to learn what your options can be.
• cross referencing with descriptions on the video or ingame to see what actions you don't understand are actually doing
• trying it out yourself and see how it fits for your account scalings and what more or less you can do from there
• as said, none of these are a strict order. Often you may even go back and forth across these

of course, this may not be a one man endeavor either. Some people may need otherse to ease them into the flow of things. Show them how to find such information, introduce them and get them going into reading descriptions and how to parse them. etc

otherwise for a very simple rotation, the very simple idea is set up support effects > dps until they run out

from there it's understanding two more things from your valks

• how do the supports set up effects? this is usually from the 3pc stig effect
• how does the dps deal damage? the tutorial and references can cover that.

sorry your question is just incredibly vague really. Please specify further if my answer isn't adaquete

keep in mind with astral ring, how you approach outburst becomes a part of the equation too.

• how many outbursts can you fit into the fight?
  • how early can you do it and what do you need to do to achieve them?
• What timings do they line up to be with any downtimes or vuln opportunities in the fight?
