If you're in a rush I'd suggest farming one time crystals from ER and chronicles over the open world chapters

ultimate evasion is just evading an enemy's attack timely. The team restores 2 sp and 1 ari whenever this happens.

but evasion skill refers to the effect that goes on cooldown (visualized around the evade button on screen), typically triggered from ult evade (but possibly also triggerable in other ways depending on the valk)

time fracture is one common effect from an ult evade skill but not always. It's overall its own thing and other effects can also trigger time fractures but unrelated to evasions

but anyway i did skim across all of SpA's descriptions and i didn't find anything about triggering her SS2 on demand so it does feel strange to me

keep in mind not only would you need elysia valk, but also her weapon. Signature weapons generally are a big component of the valk's personal damage, and sometimes have important utility for their gameplay flow. If you cannot plan to guarantee both, you may consider holding off and letting the pity carry to a future banner when you can save up more to guarantee valk and weap for a future valk

vita could've been alot worse for LoA too if they didn't implement that last second fix and removed the need for her CA

anyway just to be a broken record because this misconception is common: for many cases, an astral ring valk isn't bad in their entirety. They're just bad to invest in at this point for most players

If you already cannot afford every new valk release, (much less a gachaop, ranks, stellar key synergies...) how are you supposed to justify pulling for a rerun that...

• has possibly a shorter meta shelf life
  • already lost the initial patch period where she has the most abyss cycles of top use (mostly as a dps where lesser alternatives are significantly worse)
  • astral rings are still new so trends may not be the same but very loosely speaking a direct replacement (typing) is expected every 2 years
• is only going to be a slight improvement over new releases that can cover the same role (even if it's not the next release you'll pick up, with how every valk tends to have 2-3 tags, eventually you'll pick up something you're missing down the line)
• if old enough, is low ranked compared to everyone else? (thelema especially suffers from this)
• if old enough, rarely sees use no matter how potent their kit can be (again thelema is a prime example of this)

edit: and again you're not affording every new release as f2p with average rates. So pulling a rerun probably means you're skipping some other new release at some point down the line too

Meanwhile for this patch, we're seeing lightning wolf now for vita main dps but that's about it so far. Last patch we only got lightning sprout of wishing.
  • You can look at this in terms of her entire possible meta lifetime too. Lets say she's only going to get 20 cycles (completely inaccurate made up number) of top main dps use before another mech lightning happens, but picking her up as a rerun means you already missed 50% (also arbitrary and made up number) of these cycles.
• people earlier already covered how as a support she got replaced by FDD for LoA, (albeit sometimes both are used such as bleed hos who was weak to mech). With astral ring, we kind of go through "seasons" of ring types rather than a 2 year period causing a valk to suddenly drop in use for not supporting a new ring type.
• the difference from this to other alternatives is really small and possibly insignificant for lesser tiers. You're only losing ~8% (and 3 more seconds since vita is slow) without that type counter bonus for sushang dps. https://i.imgur.com/nH5mPGO.png
• s2 vita which gives higher breach are starting to see a slight rise from this carnival
• vita does have hitcount utility but PS also has been taking this role from her
• vita also has the abyssal energy stacks utility to restore slightly more ARI, but this takes time to do that the tradeoff isn't always worth it.
• another vita utility is restoring alot of ARI from her first stellar drain due to her sig weapon effect. It does see some use but not always appreciated.
• Because a valk has multiple tags, a valk can gain wide use in a short period for vaiorus roles, then become redundant.

you might still be able to appreciate her as a support for some teams in some situations due to her utility of forcing critical points on SD enemies

but in general a signature weapon is very important for a valk's performance. They can lose roughly 25% or more (even 60% in one extreme case) of their personal damage compared to the next best alternative/farmable. Some weapons may also have important utility locked behind having it.

in the future, it's highly recommended that you plan ahead and only roll when you can ensure getting both valk and weapon guarantees before the banner goes away

if you're casual, you may not mind the loss in performance and can focus more on collecting characters you like

We do expect valks and their weapons to rerun shortly after their release too but it's difficult to justify reruns since you'll lose the peak of their usefulness (their release patch) and will want to consider the new release in the future too at that time.
