i actually got it to work but i will say what happened - basically i was doing a guild boss battle and during it my controller went crazy or something, vibrating without stopping had to unplug it. After that the controller just didn't function at all, it was on but no button worked, not in menus or gameplay. What seemed to have worked for now was just uninstalling the controller and re pairing it.

deleting the folder takes care of most of the storage stuff. And if you want a clean slate for next beta:
Open registry (WIN+R > regedit > Enter)
Delete Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\miHoYo\Honkai Impact 3 Beta

that gets rid of all settings

unless you want to keep your keybinds, then dont do that

Honestly I'm not sure, the fact it's happening to multiple devices drives out pretty much all device specific things. The only thing I can think of if you haven't tried it is to try using mobile data on your mobile device and see if that helps. I'd normally recommend going to customer support to see if they have something else to try but the event has one day left iirc so they might not reply in time

Other things to take in mind:
The cutscene will only trigger if you are on the correct position, if you move before the request is send/receive you will break the sequence and you have to replay (on a normal condition the game will lock you in place instantly after the request is received once you exit the building)
If you are trying changing servers on the VPN while you are playing, you have to replay the scene if not the game will not try to send the request again
If you are using an VPN with/or an adblocker, sometimes they can block request to the HYV servers

I remember a little from the first time of the event, moving too far cause for some users not trigger anything, and still moving but close to the trigger, the "chibi cutscene" will play but get softlock

but when i say take a nosedive, its not quite that extreme, probably close to a 20-40% decrease in random read/write speed after around 5-7 years for most average customer grade hdd's lol

but uhh.... clicking noises on an HDD are like super super super bad, thats a mechanical issue

most likely something on your device is getting the file corrupted because is on the "preload/install" 7z file, could be your AV causing problems during the unzip process or win installing the file on a bad sector of your drive

the best solution for now is just making a clean reinstall of the game, if you still have issues contact CS and try to give them all the info you can, so they can try to find why your device is having issues that cant be solve with their current solutions #how-to-contact-cs

Contact customer support, other than 3rd party websites that may have tampered with the .apk file there's no way to pull it from Google play or anything. Yes, I assume you meant by deleting the files that you were planning on going into the game installation folder and deleting large amounts of the video files. If you do that the game will still think you're supposed to have them and the next time you open the game it'll redownload it before you get to the menu. It'll be like how when a new version update happens how it prompts you to download assets

So you have to go into the game and go to ai Chan phone > resources to get the game to know you're not supposed to have the chapter 15 video files for instance, and won't make you redownload them

for that theres no perfect fix, you can go to Honkai Impact 3\BH3_Data\Plugins folder and delete the hypass.dll file that is causing that, but it'll sometimes make an error pop up when opening the game (you can close the error and the game finishes opening just fine)

Can I ask why it stops running during the file extraction and makes me download the game from the beginning?

it can appear frozen during the extraction process because its extracting over 20GB of data and for most computers it'll kind of slow down and make it seem frozen so you just need to leave it sitting there while it does that even if windows says its frozen.

if it auto restarts the download from the beginning that means the download got corrupted, if its been doing that I recommend trying the manual download steps below and try using mirror 1 or 2 instead of the official one

Yeah I'd reinstall hoyoplay, even when it appears to be frozen when you're extracting sometimes it doesn't go full white screen like that

Most likely the file mention on the error is corrupted, you can try deleting it and then run a repair on the launcher

You created the password so you should know it
if you don't remember you can start the remove process from the device lock setting on your profile, after a couple of days the new security setting will be disable and will just use the default one
On that point you can keep it that way or enable the device lock again (recommended)

Just CN subtitles because are the files from the CN ver. of the game.
You kinda can get eng sub on the file, but you have to demux them, create the file with the stuff you want, make sure that the subs align (some videos have some seconds of difference between dubs), make sure they dont break, etc. Is a big task, the same mod that uploaded them try to make the subs works, but afaik doesn't have a much time for this "second" attempt.

Keep in mind that is just for "Part 1" CGs, Part 2 have CN and JP CG depending of your settings, so the subs work for both

No the game says I have enough to download along with the correct storage I have(48) but when I get to the unzipping part it takes up more than the space I have left(gets to like 96%) then says insufficient space

hmm, while i double check some things (it'll be like 10 minutes on my end) if you dont want to wait that long you can try either deleting/uninstalling about 3GB worth of stuff or you can go to the Honkai Impact 3rd\BH3_Data\StreamingAssets\Video folder and delete about 3GB worth of stuff and clear out your recycle bin, restart your computer and try again and after the game loads it'll redownload the 3gb worth of stuff plus the new update stuff

It's honestly probably because your computer is below the minimum requirements, the minimum GPU requirements is a GTX 1030 and yours is a GT 730. It's crashing on initializing the GPU part

But one thing you can try is updating your graphics driver's, they're a year out of date. No guarantees if that'll let the game run since your graphics card is several generations behind the minimum requirement

glb server released within 12 months of Sea and unless my looking came up wrong, the oldest files for both SEA and GLB is mid 2024 but they're pretty synced up, the biggest filename difference is the .usm video files. since the subtitles are baked into the video file itself they get different build names since SEA has different subtitle language options than GLB

the launcher's executable hash doesn't match what's stored on the server, so the executable was tampered with or corrupted, it attempts to re-download itself but fails due to timeout (a network issue). since it does connect to my API that's not behind CloudFlare but cannot download the actual file that is behind CloudFlare I suggest you try to download the launcher again from GitHub and see if it opens without an issue

Running the application (ds mapper and hi3) in administrator mode

Plugging the controller in before launching the app

Checking for windows updates with the controller plugged in (as dumb as it sounds)

Id assume you checked the basics but if you didn't might lead us somewhere

Another idea i had was using ds4windows to read ps5 inputs as ps4 inputs instead since ps4 controllers function just fine

If you're unsure how to do that we can go over it in a bit

Try it out, create a profile and make sure your controller is recognised, then edit your profile to allow the outputs to be read as dualshock and not Xbox controls

I had a similar issue with elden ring and that's what I did to fix it

there is no way to disable the autolock aim (except if you use kb+m that is the "new" control setting) because the game was created that way, some enemies have multiple weak points, and on the old days you, on some cases you have to select some targets first, so with the camera aim they let you choose what weak point/enemies you will attack.
you have the option to change how the autoaim works, by default is auto so it will choose the best target for the type of valk, but you have the options to being able to choose freely other target, but tbh is only necessary with the old valks, the new ones have a large AoE with the attacks so you dont really need to aim for weak points much

In devices tab check everything except the Xbox one and enable device hiding

that is the lock on kicking, once is active your camera controls will be disable and lock the camera to the "target" selection, once is "selected" you can move the camera again so if you never let go the camera control since the lock is active is going to remain lock you have to let the stick go to a neutral position (probably this is why the kbm option work like quanticador wants, because the mouse will always go try to go to the center)

I tried resetting the camera stick to neutral position while spamming BA and it does seem to break the lock temporarily before it freezes to a new angle. So I have to continuously change the angle at small increments to achieve the desired rotation

yeah is the same system, is activated immediately when attacking most likely was designed that way because when the game released there was no open world and most of the time you have enemies spawning kinda non stop until the end of the mission.
still you have the option to ask for a setting/QoL to being able to move the camera while attacking, at the end of each ver. they release a survey where you can ask for features/fix for the game, many users asked for the kb+m support there and is now in the game

Outside of downloading or updating the cache itd not much, the only times the game checks into the server is when you are menuing and when you enter\leave a stage. I tested by going into a state, disabling my network and then waited for the yellow circle to spin xD

Open world maps need to be in contact with the server more often than that obviously but it's still not much, they don't do the whole streaming assets thing that some games do

i did some testing, and theres two ways to fix that whenever you do it without having to alt-f4 but it depends on if you have one montior or a multi monitor setup. ah ok.

so the game does indeed take control back over the mouse once the stage finishes loading. if the game is still up on a screen (like still on your monitor) then once your mouse cursor disappears and the stage finishes loading. just click once to go back into the game and start moving the camera around and stuff. if the game isnt up on the screen, or if you just want to do it this way, you can alt tab once to go back into the game (unless you had the time to go to more than one application in which case you might have to hold alt and tab a couple of times to go back in)
