then yeah thats a connection issue 100% guaranteed. your internet can be fine but your connection to honkai servers specifically is having an issue. Try the stuff in the 2nd pin (in your case you'll probably need to use a VPN since you havent noticed anything else having a connection issue)

Captain iswaraKITT hjere. i have issues with playing the game using dualsense controller. controller works fine when i'm using other games. i was using ds4windows before, uninstalled it and now i'm using DualSenseX. when opening the launcher for HI3, the controller automatically stops working. just for HI3. if i Alt+Tab out of the launcher, it works back. can anyone point out what's wrong?

hmm, it might not be sending the stuff to xinput in a way that honkai can detect it. I'd recommend trying the steam method with these instructions (remember, dont install honkai through steam, just add BH3.exe to steam as a non steam game and then try running the game through steam. If you dont know where BH3.exe is then its in the games folder of your honkai installation)

but if none of that works then try customer support #how-to-contact-cs but i suspect its becuase of the new ps5 dualsenses being extra hard to get to trick windows into thinking its an xbox controller

so the dualsense controllers dont use xinput as their controller "software" so to speak but thats what windows and xbox uses. honkai uses the default for windows or the xinput for their controllers and its the only one that it uses so thats why things like the switch and the playstation controllers need to use a controller wrapper like ds4windows to work since those make a virtual controller that uses xinput and sort of sends your dualsense through that virtual controller to windows. the ps5 dualsenses are newer versions of dualsense with a lot more bells and whistles so its harder to get windows to think its an xbox controller than a more simple earlier version of the dualsense

if this same controller worked with ds4windows then might have to just reinstall that and use it for honkai specifically

ok, so in short, the new dualsense is kinda dumb... hahaha... or maybe it's also because i have a racing wheel attached... i had some issues with playing mass effect, as the wheel would spin my character's view automatically...

is it still installed or something? and im sorry about that, but yeah the 8bitdo is actually perfectly fine for honkai, all the offbrand controllers that are advertised to work for xbox or windows use xinput by default so they're good to go right out of the box

hmm, try opening command prompt (cmd) as admin and then running this command:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

sometimes windows changes that and it doesnt play nice with the launcher

What I should do if some of my cutscenes are freezing? Specifically, the first cutscene that plays when you load into chapter 40 froze halfway through, I was able to skip and continue gameplay (and I looked up the cutscene afterwards) but I'm worried my install is messed up or something and I'm wondering if theres a verify installation or something I should do.

I'm thinking it might be because it's on my external drive but I don't really have the space on my main drive atm and I'd prefer to keep it there if possible

it might be cuz of the external drive yeah, file transfer speed and so on but if you want to do a repair then next to launch in the launcher theres options that you can use to repair it and also at the login screen theres a red repair icon in the bottom left

could be other reasons, sometimes a cg file in particular just bug out and need to be redownloaded but in general your game installation should be ok

i tried pairing my old DS4 controller, and it wasn't detected in the game as well... do i really need to uninstall the game? coz that would be very time consuming...

i gotcha, and tbh i dont think reinstalling would change anything since the game doesnt have dualsense support to begin with. If you didnt try running steam as admin and only having the old DS4 controller (not both but just the old one) hooked up via USB and running honkai through that then i'd try that. and make sure that you're not opening the launcher though steam, it needs to be opening bh3.exe which just directly opens the game.

if that still doesnt do anything maybe try big picture mode in steam

I know there are some work around for genshin but if I may ask this isn't like im asking for cheats or nothing since- it's mainly an accessability thing due to my wrist so- asking about such a thing ain't bad right?
Is there a way to replicate using a controller on honkai android using external tools? (tools that would emulate using the buttons, thumbstick, etc on the screen. Not like server side shit I mean literally accessability stuff)

no there is no controller support on the android version. and as far as i know a lot of 3rd party apps would trigger the cheat so thats a risky gamble. Well that makes me wonder what does the cheat detection encounter/detect as well...a cheat? And what doesn't it? If its taking my controller movements/prompts and syncing them up with replicated prompts on the mobile displays controls...why would it detect it as a cheat thing?

It wouldn't be the same as using a script bot for example.

dunno exactly and no one does, they arent releasing the specifics of how their anti cheat works so people dont just immediately exploit it. i do know anything that modifies the games code or running processes gets counted as a cheat but past that i dunno. but np i hope customer support is helpful

Alright. Also that's good to know tbh. Since any of these 3rd party applications that you know of, there would be some more...sketchy in nature due to how some would use them for...less then savory/allowed ways. (botting, scripting, etc(
But simply replicating phone screen touch on the client side of things- that doesn't seem like it would be looked as doing either of those.

Since what the cheat considers cheats besides the obvious thing is running processes/injecting abnormal scripts into the game or modifying game code itself.

hi! i want to update regarding my controller issue. apparently (and i think everyone has noted for me) i have to switch off every single control emulation app on the pc eg: ds4windows, DualSenseX etc for the Dualsense controller to work in Hi3. my old DS4 controller worked in the game, even when the DualSenseX app was running. i stopped the DualSenseX app, and switched on my PS5 controller, and it worked! joy oh joy!

well every time i looked into it it was IX routing problems, usually going through an overloaded/unstable node that drops enough of your packets on its way to specifically honkai servers to cause connection issues

ISP usually routes you better or the problem child fixes itself within a day to within a few weeks

okay so i have looked literally everywhere and cannot find a solution. so recently i wanted to play more honkai, so i boot it up, but it needs to update. doesn’t update, i’ve had the same issue in the past so i uninstall it and reinstall from the website. i wait for a bit but it gives me a “failed to check for updates. try again?”. i click it, wait for awhile longer, gives the same prompt. i have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, changing DNS, flushing DNS, disabling anti virus, allowing it on antivirus, changing VPN, EVERYTHING but nothing is fixing it. in the logs it’s giving me error type 1 and 4 saying it can’t find host bh3-launcher-static.hoyoverse.com and http_request_timeout. i am trying to download Europe and America server launcher, can anyone help?

tbh its a rare thing, because your device has to be high spec enough to do characters but low spec enough to not be able to do that and the facial animations so they get stuck

and if you dont have an installation folder then i recommend one of the custom launchers like the better launcher or the collapse launcher in the first pin (the one with all the download links)

nice, then y eah try the manual download steps, it should fix it. long story short your download keeps getting corrupted when the launcher is trying to download the file, usually downloading it via a browser or from a different source (mirror 2 or 3 in the manual download steps) fixes that issue

Every time I start the first stage of the ice planet on starry voyage event my PC lost signal to my monitor and I can't see anything but I can still hear the game, I can't do anything I think so I reset my PC, Before anyone ask I have a gamer PC, an strong one so I doubt that's the problem but if you wanna know my specs I will tell you

Yeah it seems to be a bad installation. You can try running it in windowed mode first, that might help but with the amount of game objects missing or can't be referenced you'll probably need to reinstall the game

I haven’t played Honkai Impact 3rd in a while, and I logged back on my account and it had taken away my Herscher of rebirth, all of my equipment for her, and they used to be level 71 but it sent me back all the way to level 62. I’m very confused.

well thats your issue then, if none of the display/render tabs in dxdiag show an nvidia card (the one you sent a screenshot of does not) then something stopped with your nvidia graphics card so its using the amd integrated graphics which would explain teh sudden lag. do you have the nvidia geforce experience app to open and see if it can install your graphics drivers?

ok i have returned from my investigations, first thing to check with your laptop is a thing called "armoury crate"

in there go to device > system > gpu power saving > igpu mode and turn that off or if the menu is different then something similar to that.

if that fixes it then basically your laptop was in battery saving mode or power efficiency mode and was just turning off your nvidia graphics card

np! and yeah just keep it on ultimate, the only real difference it affects (other than performance) is battery life so if you're plugged in keep it on ultimate, heck keep it on ultimate when on battery but just keep in mind it'll drain the battery faster but you'll have the most performance

PC. And I've been having this issue for the past year. Most of the times they play fine, but sometimes they crashing. And just now, moments ago, I had a big crash that froze everything with black screen and just my mouse cursor frozen and I had to do a hard restart.

On HSR.

And tried to log in again and crashed literally at the loading logging.

Genshin and other games I play got no issues at all.

Tried to check HI3rd's log file, nothing.

So, I'm really at my wits end here.

i mean hi3's logs have different info but all that says is that the game started and then stopped, and can you send screenshots of the stuff? your driver version numbers and what your system is actually detecting matter more than what the hardware components are.

le sigh, i cant really help with the info you've given me so far. what im really looking for in the dxdiag (past a glance to see if its above minimum requirements) is:

-your operating system and build number
-your bios date and version
-your drect3d feature levels and driver model (which wddm) and if your display is running on discreet mode or not. plus driver version number and date

but sure we can go with your word on it that everything hardware related is both perfect and good. can you provide your output log if the last time honkai opened was when it crashed? if the last time you opened it it did not crash then please supply provide it the next time it crashes as it gets rewritten every time you start the game.

could be a few things from, but with the discord thing if you have hardware acceleration turned on in discord then it uses a silly amount of gpu power in discord and could be causing higher end games like hi3 or hsr to crash. hi3 is unoptimized kinda bad, hsr is shiny and new and genshin is very well optimized so it could be that.

other things it could be is a bad installation and reinstalling can fix it due to the amount of game objects missing in the output log, could also be some corrupt sectors on your D: where its installed which could cause that so you can try opening command prompt as administrator and run "chkdsk D: /f /r".

there was also some windows errors in there so it could be a thing that both honkai and hsr but NOT genshin use so you should also check for windows updates in the regular updates section, also check for windows media feature updates that might be missing (go to settings > apps and fetures > optional features > add a feature and see if windows media player is installed, if not then install it). Could also be some windows system component issue so it never hurs to open a command prompt as admin and do "sfc /scannow" to scan and repair any broken windows components that make things occasionally act up.

also always worth testing lowering the graphics and/or putting it in windowed mode but if none of the above fixes it then the only other thing i can thing of is to reinstall windows. it sounds dramatic but trust me, it would fix it if nothing else does because unless your hard drive itself is failing, resetting windows fixes stubborn issues like this, i personally spent an entire weekend trying to simply reinstall a bluetooth driver on my pc that would not work until i reinstalled windows and it worked perfectly, others have had honkai refuse to open until they reset windows. now thats a pretty nuclear option so i'd also recommend before doing that that you email customer support and see what they say #how-to-contact-cs

with the info i have and what your output log is telling me, those are all the possible things that could be causing this

oh mb i thought honkai was installed on your D: instead of your C: but if you do end up trying to reinstall windows, you can do reset windows from the recovery menu and it'll keep all your documents and stuff, you'll just need to reinstall all your apps which sucks but it is what it is. and no problem! you did it all correct, just a hard drive scan cant be run sometimes while windows is also using the hard drive, it just happens sometimes but when it restarts all it will do is show this screen for a bit until its done

but it doesnt have the ability to screw over your computer, all its doing is scanning your hard drive for corrupt parts and tries to repair any corrupted parts if it finds them

but it doesnt have the capability to destroy anything. worst case scenario is your hard drive is super corrupted and failing and you'd have to replace that but the chkdsk doesnt cause that, it just lets you know that thats happening

You are correct, indeed, that's what it does. I did it in the past too. Just, when it gets to the point of windows logo and loading and having black screen with white dots loading for a long time, it scares me to death. My first issue was like that and lasted for hours.

i gotcha, yeah that can be scary and sounds like your old HDD was failing but running the chkdsk even 10 times a day isnt worse on your hard drive than lets say using the computer normally so running it again wont hurt. if it shows thousdands of bad sectors though then that could mean your current hard drive is failing too but i hope that isnt the case

might have accidentally linked it during the linking event that ran for around 5 ish months back in late 2021-early 2022 before the hoyoverse cutoff date. but the only possible way to log into the game as of july 2022 was hoyoverse accounts so if you played at all since then then you had to have linked it to something if you hadn't done it and forgot all about hoyoverse accounts back in early 2022 but either way best to just wait on customer support since its not any of the ones you can think of

But to set some expectations on the timeline for you, once they give you a form to fill out you will need to fill it out with info from your old account. There might be some questions that sound like they're about your new account but make sure every answer is talking about your old account. But once you fill it out and send it back they have to rope in a few other departments like the payments department to check your receipts and stuff but long story short that part usually takes between 1-3 days on average and then them let you know if they accept your request or reject it due to too much incorrect info.

You can narrow it down to the right month that way if you remember that or you can get the exact date if you have a picture of the login emblem which shows how many days you've played.

Some other stuff that people take a long time to remember or figure out are receipts of payments, what device you created the account on (like phone model etc), your physical location etc. The login emblem is a thing on the ai Chen phone that shows how many days you've played and gives you rewards of you've played for more than 300 days iirc
