If it's monitor just do the plug unplug method
Hardware issues mostly storage it could be a failing one or it's not functioning properly (a restart can fix this probably)

I need help on 6.9. I tried to pre-download 4+ times, and it never worked, not once. Kept giving me the error 'failed to download game files' etc, with me having to press the retry button every 1-10 seconds, and then each time the file got close to completion (50-70%) - after 1-2 hours of constant watching, it just jumps ahead and tries to start verifying, which inevitably fails... and then restarts from zero... all progress deleted.

I then uninstalled it and did a full reinstall, and it did the exact same f****ing thing. I need help with this

Try to delete temp file of update in HI3rd game directory (I don't remember the name of file, but it should be heavy (~12Gb)). The update will start to download from the start. At least it worked for me. I had the same issue today

It's weird that it keeps having a broken installation when after you reinstalled it. I'm assuming when you say you redownload it you mean you uninstalled and reinstalled it? If you meant like redownloading the data and not actually reinstalled then I would recommend first try reinstalling it. Also please keep in mind that if the reinstall download speed is very slow then try connecting to a VPN first before reinstalling in case if a connection issue is causing it (good free VPN in pins if you don't have one)

If that doesn't help then I'd make sure your phone system software is up to date (the os software), if it's never been updated for some reason then that would also cause it.

If that doesn't work or if it's already to to date then it's recommend shooting customer support an email to ask for their help since at that point it shouldn't be anything wrong with your phone or the game installation that im aware of #how-to-contact-cs

It's meant to be like that. After 5.7 they changed the cg file type to .usm and it did come with a lot of benefits but the older ones got a lot of compression artifacts, unfortunately there's no way to fix that but it does get better the further you go in the story

once you click the pull, you get the item, the animation is "just for show",
you could ask cs to see if they can tell you what you got, or if you want to see now you have to manually search on your inventory using the "time" order because you get on that banner only weapon and stigs
you can use the "self-search" on the support page on Ai-phone too, it take 1 hr to the page to get updated, so probably you can see them now
and a tip : you skip the gacha animation if you are on a party, so you can create a private one before you do the pulls

i gotcha, tbh issues usually only affect one of the 3 hoyoverse games since they have different launchers, different code and are hosted on different servers. can you try first manually checking for any windows updates and applying any then restarting your computer?

if that doesnt work try opening command prompt as admin (click on your start menu and type "cmd" and then right click it and run as admin) and then running this command netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

if that doesnt work then i'd recommend trying the better honkai launcher in the first pin, its fine with TOS, made by one of the mods here and lets you download that cache outside of the game iirc

for now yeah might have to. do keep in mind that 100% loading settings can sometimes appear frozen for up to 5 minutes so keep that in mind. but you can also try repairing the game in the launcher settings, might be something broke in there or might have to end up reinstalling the game. (oh one last thing i forgot, if you vpn'ed to japan then try a different country, for whatever reason japan has connection issues)

I don't remember when this yellow circle issues started for me (probably 6.3 or so) but it has been months since the technical support told me to use VPN, now I have to play HI3 on VPN every time! it's annoying as hell have to use a vpn only for the game (Every other single multiplayer game I play, 4k video, download, speedtest, or whatever that use internet is WORKING FINE) and the support only tell you "it's connection issues on your end, use VPN", but everything was fine until version 6.something, and I'd been playing since almost 3 or 4 years ago without this problem, so it's definitely on their side, but the are refusing to check/repair the issue.

glad it finally says it download it all, but considering its fine on your phone and not on your computer (just as a note, the game "freezing" during verifying is normal behavior since its very resource heavy on your hard drive so windows thinks its frozen) despite everything you've done then i'd recommend contacting customer support with all the info in the second pin, there have been persistant connection issues in the EU region so it might be that

im sorry its been so frustrating for you, honestly its really hard to say if its on their end or not. logically if it was on their end it would be affecting everyone and thered be like over 100 people in here every day and on the other hand due to way internet traffic works you can have amazing connections to everything but a single thing and the reason a VPN works is because it routes you around the specific "hop" in the long line of connections between you and honkai servers. but stuff like that should have been fixed on its own after months so it does seem like theres something going on the servers side that just only affects a few people here and there.

what i'd recommend is when the game wont work without a VPN, get all of the info from the second pin and email that to customer support and say that you've been having to use a VPN literally every single time since 6.3 and ask them to have the devs investigate it since this has been happening to you and several of your friends for months.

no guarantees on if/how fast they'll look into it but that should give them evidence that its not just a temporary isp routing issue like it is 90% of the time for most players

and clearing the cache works once so it seems to be a setting/cache issue

im thinking its either an issue with the cps channel in config.ini, if its the epic client i was going to recommend just clearing that out but it could also be a registry cache mis match due to the beta clients and so on so if the config.ini thing doesnt work my next thing to try was going to be deleting the registry cache and then if that doesnt work then not sure, would have to look into it more or something

seems like it could either be a connection issue or an issue with the launcher itself not updating. I'd recommend either trying the vpn in the 3rd pin or try one of the community launchers (like collapse which works for all hoyoverse games or better hi3launcher which is super useful for hi3) from the first pin

i gotcha, i just checked and its there for me. i do know that if you do a story stage early (cuz like when they release initally you can do it early for the event going on for it) so if you skip ahead then after the event goes down the stuff after wont be available till you've gotten to it normally in the story if that makes sense.

If it's the older chapters then that's just how they are. They're at a fixed resolution optimized for mobile you see so none of the settings affects those and on bigger resolution and larger size screens like for PC is very noticable

mhmm, the main issue is that they're a fixed resolution so no setting changes it and if you tried to upscale it to replace the in game files that would 1.) be against ToS and 2.) the game would just detect differently sized files and wouldnt play any of them

That might be it then? The epic launcher passes your epic login to the game client to enable the epic game store when you top up, if it's expecting that but isn't getting it they might in theory cause it to crash that early on. Would it be possible to test opening it through epic to see if it still does it?

no its fine! tbh installing it through epic and then opening it manually usually works so its not something that comes to mind to try and also as a side note the epic version and the regular global version are 99.9% the same file wise, the epic version just has a couple of extra epic web store sdk files to enable that payment option and a change to one line in a config file to tell the game to look for the epic login pass from the launcher if that makes sense so its perfectly understandable to not think about running it through epic

The issue is that the game only have support for xinput devices (Xbox) and PS controllers, but you can try the steps here to make the controller work

that the Download is corrupted so you need to redownload the file again (manual download steps)
Or that the launcher is broken so is missing the files to do the unzip process. to fix this one you can try the steps here

You can try a custom launcher if you want (check this pin) to see if they can finish the install.

Okay, I just test it, I run the one I had and no issues, then use your file and in the time where is the issue i had like 1 sec where have some missing frames (like stuttering) but no more issues until the end

So looks like there is some issue with the file, but what is the issue that cause a full freeze for you... idk

that is a "new cutscene" that was release when the first chapters got a rework, and with that rework, new custscenes and dialogues didn't got JP voices

only the cg that are still the same from the "first ver." of the game are reused so they are voiced because of that

just an update, totally uninstalled and reinstalled my graphic drivers, no change. deleted the file and redownloaded it twice and no change either time. its also just that one cg and that one part where it hard freezes everytime so honestly i have no idea why its doing that

if its software encoded it could be something with my cpu since it is aging but thats the only idea i can think of

and also when i converted that file to .mkv for my media player viewable cg project it had no issues either so i dont think its the file itself
