Hey guys, I have a bit of a problem

So last night, I was still able to play HI3rd normally on my PC but I try to play again today and it's trying to download an HD asset. Said it's 9MB but.... It can't seem to do it.

It goes to 100% then goes back again to 0% like what? I thought my game folder might be wonky so I reinstalled the game but same thing is happening. It's stuck at 19.6% (3009.9MB/15369.9MB) the MB count goes up but goes backdown to 3009.9 again.

Sound like a connection problem, check the 3rd pin 📌 for some ways to fix/bypass the first problem,
and because you are downloading the game again, if you want, you can download the game files using a mirror (2nd pin 📌 )

-restart your pc and try downloading game
-restart router
-uninstall game and delete game folder if its still there, restart pc to clear any temp files, then reinstall
-just wait until tomorrow if the error persist(sometimes the problem could be on the server side)

if you want to check for network stability you can go on command prompt and ping google or something with:

ping 8.8.8.8 -n 20

and if you see any 'request timed out' then you could be trying to download but some things are getting lost in the transfer corrupting the install

So I tried this rn and no timed out from me. While I was trying again I did monitor the Streaming Assets/Video folder and I saw something.

The game was trying to download videos I think (5.7MainLine_Loop_03, 5.7MainLine_CG_03) as tmp files, assigns a size, but fails to form a solid USM file

The only thing I can think of now is maybe getting an updated BH3_Data folder and placing it in mine

oh remembered something, try deleting all files in the Video folder in StreamingAssets folder(you can make a backup in another folder on desktop if you want). I remember I had the same issue you had once and this fixed it, but it was a while back when there were still .zip files there so I dunno for sure if that will work.

Like I said before it's a connection problem, if something fail it's going to corrupt the download and have to start again, most users can bypass the problem using a VPN (if you use the one on pins, don't select JP)

Others need to use the hi3mirror (I think is working again)

And a small portion have the luck that in just some minutes the ISP fix the problem and can download without problems after a short wait

like the error show, the files are corrupted, go to ...\Honkai Impact 3 ###\Games\BH3_Data\StreamingAssets\Asb\pc and delete the wmv files show in the error if they are still in there, then open the game and try the download again

but when I quit out after it had been so long already, intending to get back to it later, it just started me all over at the initial doors but with no quest markers for what I should do next

but I don't get the same scene I remember when approaching/entering Kevin's first door, with Kevin looking back to the shadow and then prompt to switch to Theresa

only throws me right into the scene behind the door which then completes the stage after finishing the scene

so the save progress feature is bugged when you actually need to use it cause of quitting out lol

And i thought it was automatically linked. Then i realized i was on sea serverd by accident and someone told me to uninstall and reinstall the eu server thingy. I did, and so i tried logging in by pressing hoyoverse method and yes, its just the error calling out the fact that my acc doesnt exist

whoever told you that you can log into the same account on EU was wrong, there is no cross save in between servers

you have a hoyoverse account, that lets you have 1 honkai account per server. so if you installed teh SEA client and logged in you'd have that other account back

correct, accounts cannot be lost. its actually impossible. the one you're looking for is on the SEA server. and the reason account retrieval said your account doesnt exist is because the account retrieval button is exclusively for linking an old mihoyo account to the new hoyoverse account system. hoyoverse became the only way you can create new accounts or login as of july 2022 so anything created after that would not exist in the old mihoyo login system so account retrieval would say that it doesn't exist.

if it is then you'll click continue, then it'll take you to a hoyoverse login page since you have to link it to a hoyoverse account but your current main hoyoverse account already has a honkai account on it so you'll need to register a new hoyoverse account to link it to (just click register now)

if everything goes well you'll have it linked to that new hoyoverse account you made. if you get a failed to link error then post a screenshot of it here

also if it does show your UID and stuff then write that down. customer support cannot help you with anything if you dont know your UID

yeah, hoyoverse accounts became mandatory login after 5.8 which was july 2022. they had like a 6 month long linking event prior but not everyone did it. either way thats why your mihoyo account didnt work since its a different login system to begin with. either way like i said unless you're really attached to your old account for some reason, starting over would probably get you better stuff (unless you were a big spender back in the day)

can sometimes be a windows issue or if your internet is being spazzy/really slow it sometimes doesnt work either. i'd recommend making sure y our windows is up to date and restarting your computer as a probable fix

the reason i ask is because any account changes (like changing the linked email) will need to send a verification code to that email

so if you can try to get access to the email its trying to send verification codes to then yeah you can change it by going to account.hoyoverse.com and changing it in the account security settings. if you dont have any access to that email anymore then you'll need to email customer support #how-to-contact-cs with your UID and explain your issue and they'll start the account recovery process

if there was any games linked to it you can email hoyoverse customer support with your games UID and tell them you've forgotten what the login is and ask them, they'll tell you.

if you dont know your UID then if you know your hoyoverse ID for that account you can also ask them. if you dont have any of that then all i can advise is try some third party logins instead of email and hope you guess it right but customer support cant help without an ID or a UID

its going to be rejected, the unbind is mostly for an accidental account or if the old account was link to a unknow HYV, not to delete
most users that use that form for "delete" and start again, just put that they want to unbind nothing more, and keep in mind that only is accepted if you account was created on the old login, accounts created on HYV are rejected

still you have the option to play on other server if you want to start again and skip that process, just that depending on your internet can have lag problems on multiplayer like coop

you could also just reinstall and save about 500MB ish, that would get rid of any old event data thats still on the phone
