None it just makes a new account from scratch when it says it’s bonded because you can log in with Apple ID anymore so I had to go through account retrieval and link my Apple ID account with a new hoyoverse account and when it says it’s linked I go to use the email and log in it just starts from scratch

that is weird, 10033's are 100% connection issue related and a VPN fixes those. I guess if the issue is with your internet and not something in between you and honkai it can still give a 10033

i double checked and the inifinix zero plus 4 is below the minimum requirements for honkai with its chipset and it has a budget gpu so while you can try reinstalling it to see if it was just a botched installation. im pretty sure the real reason is that its below the minimum requirements. and yeah when the menu kicks in after the bridge loads the gpu usages goes up about 10% or so

cuz gotta render the rest of the menu and stuff in addition to the character which is taking up most of your gpu anyways

Yes, You can run Honkek via Sideloading. But since mostly Chromebooks have less powerful specs including the GPU, it won't run smoothly as you imagine. Basically, the game will automatically crank down the settings to the lowest and you can enter the bridge menu with at least 45 fps at max.

I heard that they bring the GPU support for OpenGL rendering, the same way as they switched from MESA on Subsystem for Linux.

The last time I tried that was a year ago and it's running on Software rendering via MESA

i guess that's a point, but what really bugs me is that the bugs never occured until 6.3, and according to the development team, they didn't make bigger changes to the graphics part

idk, maybe you just lucked out. going just over the limit has to start somewhere. but like as a test, i ran some monitoring software and played around in the game and what i found was that at a 2k ultrawide resolution (2560x1080) and an AMD RX 5700 XT (8GB of VRAM) at the quality preset, nothing special done, just the quality preset will use about 10-20% when in the menu for the game and just entering the hub for APHO 2 (which is roughly similar to ER as well as any open world story chapter after kolosten) will IMMEDIATELY bump that up to about 65-70% usage, which is around 5GB reserved on the quality preset on 2k resolution. that was just testing one of the more mid level upper range areas, ER would be considered the lower of the upper range areas graphics wise where the moon would be the highest

so you can keep that in mind as like a benchmark. I wish the game wasnt that vram hungry but its mostly teh resolution size taking up exponentially more. I wish they had a solution to optimize it more but i guess thats the reality of it

i don't know much about graphics stuff but i was under the impression that if you halve the FPS you would also halve the load on your graphic card

tbh i dont have a 4k resolution screen so i cant test that. but for the fps thing, thats a yes and no. yes lowering your fps does put less of a strain but its more of a task on your CPU than your GPU. on the other hand a gpu that is struggling to render everything will lower the frames. but its not a direct correlation of half the fps means half the gpu usage. you're thinking of resolution. lets say the game has to render about 2.5 million pixels (thats for my screen) and it renders each pixel and puts it in the vram to buffer and store to send to my screen. if you double that to a 4k which is about 4.5 million pixels then it needs literally almost double the vram to display the exact same thing

so if you look at my test, quality preset in APHO2 hub using just under 5GB of vram on a 2k then to try and render that on a 4k it would need roughly 8-9GB to render the same thing on the quality preset cuz it simply has to store all that graphics stuff in the frame buffer

tbh i dont know why it didnt crash before but i can tell you that your card was struggling at the settings you had it before

I don't know, i mean i was really never having problems, not even slight. no single graphical glitch, no crash, my GPU was not even that overused. right now entering the hub is like 2-3GB with resolution reduced to 1080p, so even if it actually is a linear relationship then it would still fit.

it'd be easy to fix if there was some ingame calculation that's trying to pre-allocate VRAM when you enter certain areas as some kind of preparation for the actual gameplay.

which i still doubt because if they would, there would be almost no loading time when entering the actual level and the graphics of the hub if thery had the open world properly clipped would definitely not allocate 6GB

true, it might have been the update they did was to pre-allocate resources when loading into an area as opposed to after you got there which wouldnt be changing anything major graphically. but yeah if you're on 1080p and allocating around 2-3GB that fits in with me getting around 5gb since i am double the resolution. but you have to remember that when going into the hub for instance my card is still using 1-2 gb before i go into the hub and while loading in if it doesnt unload the previous area before allocating the vram needed for the hub then for a brief microsecond my card is using around 7GB before dumping the old stuff and going down to 5

it would at least make sense... if this is a controlled behaviour they could just add like Max(NeededRam, AvailableRam) and it's okay.
but yeah... weird... also i can play almost any other game on high presets with my 4K resolution. stuff like One PIece PIrate Warriors, this open world one-piece game, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, all on high presets without a single lag. i don't know if the unity engine is not that good in optimizing memory usage but yeah... i just have no idea ^^ it's weird and frustrating.

but nevertheless, thank you so much for providing that resolution fix. i see exactly no change in graphics but my crashes are almost gone. here and there there were some glitches when i tried to watch an online stream at the same time or so, but besides that all is fine. so i guess i can live with that

i gotcha but yeah np, glad i could at least figure out why. and as far as those other games, they're totally different games with different levels of graphics and different companies. yes they all use cel shaded graphics but thats more of an art style than a technical perspective. its like saying the mona lisa and my high school oil painting project are comparable because they're both oil paintings lol (dumb comparison but its what my tired brain just now thought of lol). I do highly suspect that since even the basic requirements for older stuff keeps going up that the resolution of the character models and stuff is really high (and has gotten higher) for a game with this style of graphics.

but like as a quick note, a lot of people assume that cel shaded graphics are inherently easier on your gpu and that simply isnt the case. like as a very brief example, not factoring in anything else other than texture size... as far as your GPU is concerned rendering a 2k texture size photorealistic tree from idk... crysis and rendering kiana's white comet character if its got a 2k texture size is the exact same amount of work on your GPU... does the tree look a lot more realistic and fancy? sure. but your gpu still has to render 2k texture for both regardless

But on the non-steam version the game doesn't seem to even acknowledge that I have a controller connected to my laptop, let alone let me use it. google login is only available on mobile devices, but before trying to log into the game first log into hoyolab.com and check the honkai battle chronicles with your google account to see if your honkai is there. if it isnt then do account retreival on a mobile device so that the old mihoyo account system google login shows up so you can do that to link to a hoyoverse account

first go to account retrieval at the login screen. NOT the hoyoverse login button, the account retreival button in the bottom right

then login with your old honkai info in the mihoyo login. you can do forgot password here if you have forgotten it

then when it takes you past that and goes to the hoyoverse login do register now to make a new hoyoverse account with a new email and stuff

then after that IF it says "linking successful" THEN you can log into the game. if you get link failed error message then let me know

from remembering the first few questions you had, i think you might have also gotten the dates wrong on when you first played and stuff. and email.uid,server, username, etc can be easily gotten if your email is hacked. most often people will hack someones email account and then try to get customer support to "give" them the honkai account so thats why they ask things that only you would know.

but i know this is all very frustrating. i think if you focused on getting access to your email account back then you'd be able to do whatever you wanted yourself without needing customer support

Yeah factory reset is a wise thing just to be sure you completely wipe the virus but as luna said it depends on how strong the virus code is
