or balance as in trying to shake up the kiting/hammer/bhopping meta's and such? that's something that will take more time as we generally don't just want to aggressively change how things currently work just to break those elements (e.g. people have said 'just make enemies faster', well, yeah that'll make kiting harder, but it changes how everything is played). We'd generally rather introduce new enemies that make it more threatening to kite, etc

Bhop is funny, I don't see the point in breaking it, the only thing you can do is add some new things (enemies environment conditions) that will temporarily force the player to change their pace (for example, the same zones with ||chargers|| or ||mothers||, because of which room aggregation can be expensive). And if kiting is "killed" personally, I will not mind.

any player that are bhopping will instantly stop when they see a giant charger

And also, I think the balance they need to do is between having worse enemies to kite, while also avoiding making holding the point completely unbearable.

Chargers and Big Chargers are nice because they're different enough to warrant priority target while on defense point, but they don't come up until halfway through the missions
since we don't want to swarm every level with charger

Because general avoiding of the tongue by using direct environment (Thinking of the D2 Class V Scan with all the way to break line of sight) shouldn't be punished imho

Typically circle kite and running away from them in a curved motion is enough
They also lag the game if there is enough of them make it extremely easy
To kill the kite, it is a good idea to change the alarms, in which the team scan will not always be the first, but either randomly (but it is better not to do this because there will be more rngs in the game) or make a different order manually on each alarm
So that the teem scan is the second penultimate or the last, depending on the alarm
Taking the team scan off the first part actually makes it easier to circle kite
You gather them up faster with less leak sadly
yea if theres no initial the kiter can just wait outside the doors and pull all aggro
the easiest solution would be to mix in team scans into the middle of most alarms in addition to the starting team scan
And manipulate spawn 
that too
It’s hard to fix especially since it’s player choice

Long kite but especially circle kite take away from the difficulty in the game pretty drastically

Interesting 
People were discussing changes to kiting and such by buffing enemies or making rooms much harder, but I think those changes would be a bit silly. If nerfs to stuff like kiting or bhopping were needed, it'd be best to apply direct changes to the way they work otherwise you're making the game much more difficult for people who both use and don't use the system when the intent is simply to make the game a little less cheesable.
the problem here is that applying those direct changes impacts other shit and you get exactly what you're describing you don't want
the best way to remove kiting is to add something that nerfs it
S1 scans were great, its very tough and sometimes impossible to clutch b3 overload out with beginners, if it didnt go down those 2 s1s would be so easy
chargers are also ok, but not the best to stop kiting, they can still be kited decently easily
an enemy that can climb the environment and is decently fast but does little damage would be great
Does kiting actually need nerfed though? It seems like the whole point of the game is picking your fights carefully and establishing choke points.

you could have one guy kite the whole wave while the rest of the team does scans without problem
it's just too far past that grey area where you're taking advantage of the way the game works and more towards exploits i guess

Why punish players for mastering the game?
If you want a level to be hard to kite, it makes more sense to add obstacles to the game to enhance kiting's difficutly rather than directly make kiting harder
I mean mastering how guns work together and the time you need to reload when an enemy staggers is better
Running 3 zones away from the enemy is not
Well even the in-game lore has implications that running can sometimes be better than fighting. Look at schaffer (or however you spell it)

Except every game ever encourages you to kite melee based enemies. That’s why games mix it up with ranged enemies.
The skill comes from game knowledge. You know the map layout, the routes, shortcuts, etc etc. And if you get caught out, your team is now at a significant disadvantage because a teammate is far out and down
Why punish the most dedicated players by removing a mechanic that a lot of players don't use?

limb breaking is just for staggering and doesn't affect the abilities of the sleepers
I see, i saw in the suggestions list where someone proposed a more noticeable stagger animation, so maybe that will happen in the future
well, we did have that in R1, headless enemy go slower but was abused to shit so they removed it

The guy who suggested wanted a cosmetic buff added to stagger weapons because when he would ask his team if they noticed a difference they could not see one. The ideas proposed were tracer effects for stagger weapons. Personally I just want more gore like KF2.
tbh if your team can't notice your staggering that means you probably aren't doing it very well lol

It’s not something I notice or look for.
the stagger its pretty noticeable specially in b3 overload, if you are doing it right(1-2 shots on the ones that are about to tongue/overextending into the team)

there is a tank at the end with a pMother, the tank would run through first and people would use the mine cheese to kill it straight away then kill the mother after, which in my opinion is dumb and isn't the way it's intended

Yeah, they're pretty hard to see, but they are the most ASMR enemy you can kill. Like ghost busters. About the Mother, without any plan, you'll probably die. It seems that they are kinda fused together with tumors on the back.
