It depends on what server you are playing. Get on the discord of the server you want the spino on and ask around there.

If you are playing on a survival dino check your settings and hot keys. If your on a sandbox dino, they won’t work as they are unfinished like the theri etc.

Try completely reinstalling the game and check if all your drivers are up to date.

Whoever told you that referred to a unofficial the isle community as Spino is only found on the legacy branch, and we only have official servers on the active development branch evrima. So you'll have to look through #unofficial-isle-communities and find something that suits you best.

So u can’t switch regions u just have to search for the right servers that aren’t the Chinese hacking ones. I would recommend Asura for no rules, noodzaak for if ur new and hunting grounds if ur a skilled player who’s good with rules

Besides that there is asura. They have 2 or 3 full servers without any rules and a death-match server
New Beginnings is also a server with rules. I think most of them you can only join via the link

Yep! That’s an issue that’s been around since about the new steam update and unfortunately hasn’t and probably won’t be fixed, the only way to join servers now is with links wich u can acquire from the server u want to joins discord

Both versions of the game try to read the same folder to grab the settings and controls. Since the controls are so different, going between versions will cause issues if you don't wipe the config

It's possible to make a backup of it by renaming the folder in appdata (called TheIsle) but you'd have to rename it whenever you switch

There's not a whole lot, buuuut Hellfire is a realism roleplay server with profiles for dinosaurs. And apexes are locked behind having approval for them. You may still find a lot of apexes though, and the server is extremely rule heavy.

I prefer New Beginnings and Pangea, with Noobz for a few good fights before dying to rulebreakers. But all will have access to apexes, unfortunately.

I'm completely fine with apexes existing, i actually like them, it's just that their whole tradeoff of "takes a long time to grow but is extremely strong" is completely ruined when you can spend discord points to purchase one. Also, just a question, do any of the servers you listed have alt turn enabled? Thanks for the response by the way!

As far as I know, I believe Alt Turn is disabled on all of these? I've never been attacked by anyone alt-turning, and on old servers, it was pretty obvious when alt turn was enabled.

If you host a server yourself you should be able to make that when creating as an option you choose. If you want to u can search for "sandbox" on the right in the server list

But be aware often its just testlevel maps or unactive servers

If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Theres no Official Legacy servers anymore. So youd have to find an Unofficial one. I play on a no gameplay rules server and its pretty popular, but for someone new to Legacy and unsure of it, idk if id recommend it.
Theres still a few rule servers out there. I think New Beginnings is one

To play Legacy you'd select none.

Legacy is the default branch of the isle when you install it. So unless you've switched to Evrima in the beta tab, you should be on Legacy by default.

There are no official Legacy servers anymore so you'd have to find an unofficial one that suits your style.
