Yes. The peak was still late 2017 modded realism prog servers for me. In terms on enjoyment and replayablity, and no, it's not nostalgia. I think even tho we had way less mechanics, the game was more immersive with worse graphic. Especially good realism servers because it wasn't a deathmatch. Current evrima is mechanically superior and more pretty, but just simply doesn't work as a game. Hopefully soon we get to see some positive changes in terms of optimization and fixes.

So I'm experimenting with UE5 and I'm going to make a 100x100KM map. Wanting to make the land masses more like continents and have smaller separate oceans within them. I came up with this so far. Made it in world machine and then enhanced the various layers and textures with photoshop. Gonna have fun exporting it out to tile and then into UE5.

When playing on the map. you won't be able to even tell, with it being as large as it is, As well as those areas in the middle will be oceans, not fresh water.
Honestly it's difficult to make any map that isn't going to have a base square shape or rectangular shape and have as much land as possible. If it was capable of wrapping around much like you would a world map then it'd be easier to avoid that square shape by having the shape bleed into the sides. But because the world doesn't wrap around and it's a plane, it is what it is. But again. From a first person view or even third person. With how massive it is, while playing you arn't going to be able to tell cause you won't even see one corner from another.

I'm actually planning on replacing the whole landscape with static meshes that I'll turn into nanite, so it'll be static meshes that make up the landscape instead of the landscape itself. It's just going to take a lot of time. The point of the landscape is to have a blueprint to follow for the meshes if that makes sense.

Well only static mesh works for nanite currently. So foliage wouldn't really work. But because the landscape itself, if it consists of all static meshes that are nanite, that increases performance significantly which will open up for interactive foliage better
