to my knowledge im pretty sure almost/every playable uses allo as a base rig? you can see this even like now with austro if you try and thrash something in your mouth, it doesn't have an animation for it so it defaults to allos thrash animation

Pretty much agree with everything. The one thing I’d do is make it so rex just simply can’t fracture things in its weight range[basically only trike atm] (it already has the pin at low hp/stam for “finishing” fights) and have fractures be its main tool for dealing with finishing off ambushes on smaller things like Maia

I still do find it silly that a 8%hp rex can pin a 8% hp trike and make the trike helpless cus of it.

Instead of “pinslop” you get broken to hell and munched. Basically the same thing but I guess you can still move while getting munched lmao. Effectively changes nothing but people complain about pins

Depends. Is your species MZ in a forested area or a jungle area. No food is gonna be out in the open often near E jungle. But somewhere like south plains is much more open

Some animals are designed more for open plains whereas some are designed for jungles. So you just adjust where they go accordingly, sometimes there will be times when non plains animals go in jungles or jungle animals go in plains. But generally animals should have to stick to biomes that fit them

What about when you spawn in or when you log in. Suddenly your mz is across the map and you don’t know when it’ll vanish or if the food there has already been cleared. You make a 40min trip as a trike just for 2% food. You starve.

Again this is kinda yes & no. We have plenty of herbivores who can travel the map with ease Maia, Gali, Pachy, Teno etc and those who take longer like Trike, Stego or Dibble

That would likely be elevated by having the zone rotations….not be zigzagging across the map, at least for the slower animals, something like Stego should have a bit more condensed rotation. So as an example you’d go from west rail, south plains, highlands. So no matter when you log in, you’d always be at a decent pace away from it as long as you actually follow the MZ (unless of course you go bugger off to NE plains with your friends. Well sucks to suck then

Whereas something like Teno or Maia who can travel rather efficiently would have longer strides between zones as they can afford to move. So a rotation path of like upper delta (near the east) to swamp, to Northern jungle (though this prob wouldn’t happen to all)

It’s about making the rotations make sense according to the animal rather than random zigzagness we have now.

Oh and this is hackers idea that I like. But herbivores should spawn near their MZ’s (or at least closer to sanctuaries near their MZ)

I think it’s two sides of the same coin. On one side I agree, I don’t wanna see things just infest the herbivores and kill them all on the spots.

On another, it adds a level of natural PVE to the game where the carnivores will actually be encouraged to hunt you rather than out of boredom, and you’ll actually have more scenarios where you may need to survive during growth (which in turn naturally makes larger animals harder to grow). Cause currently I’ll literally grow a trike or Rex without having to confront a single person

I guess my main problem is just the current balance, herbs can’t kill a carnivore. Simple as that. 2 trikes will never be able to kill a rex. But 2 Rexes are always able to kill a trike.
Replace trike/rex with dibble/cera or allo etc etc

This leaves a massive carnivore overpopulation fed entirely on small herbs fresh out of sanc and AI and big herbs overwhelmed

There’s not much I can do to survive in a world where the AI can support 20 allos in my mz

I think it'd be fine if the bite were set up to be properly defensive. No sprinting, bit of a small recovery after chomping, they basically have to walk into you to get bit. At that point, I think a broken bone is well deserved.

A grab though like now just feels out of place nowadays unless you're already so close to the water. At that point though, you may as well have just lunged from the water like usual

i still dont understand why they took away the ability to peck bigger animals from pt

currently its bite makes it crash if you would hit any dino with it even if the are small enough to fit in your mouth when biting them grounded

a couple weeks ago i tested it and crashed after hitting a 15% hatching troodon

It was a good change, but it was far too dramatic. It can no longer harass things it really should be able to.

there's literally no reason to remove that because it wasn't op or anything it was 1. fun and 2. lets you actually be able to hunt for yourself rather than just scavenge or go for babies in sanc
