Trust me, I've been here long enough. Nothing will change the population of a popular animal, only introducing more popular animals. We've been here at the same place with legacy. Also, as I said the biggest reason Rexes play it way to safe is currently the pinslop (allo clicks rmb and you are dead) and the fact that something 3 times your size will be faster and have more stamina. Its garbage balance, the entire speed change for elders are unneccesary. Though I'm hoping for a balance pass soon.

I think they can certainly do better though, I think with all the migration zone bugs and patrol zone bugs they haven't really had a chance to shine in population control. If they just got the patrol zones right then it would actually turn into a game of who controls what area, rex or other apex species would be incapable of easy survival if they just got those aspects right.

1: maia v allo is slightly allo favored (assuming equal skill). All you have to do is juke it out to melt its stam, then bleed it. Or the maia just runs away.
2: allo can damn near face tank a diablo from full hp, just land a pounce or 2 then slam lmb and face pounce it (since it does no reflect and goes through hs resistance)
3: thats how most playables work in this game. If you can catch something consistantly, it will have the advantage in the fight. Since you have the mobility advantage, you get to choose when, where, and if the fight happens. Choose well to land an ambush while they are vulnerable.

1: Maia may have similar running stam, but its attacks will melt through its stam. basically every attack costs 5-10% stam. So its def not hard to burn the maia out of stam, then you just have to make sure you don't get hit by back alts. Its for sure not a free win, but its def doable, especially on most maia players. Its mostly about being patient and letting the fight go long, as the maia wants it to end immediately so the bleed doesnt stack.

Also yeah I do agree with maia being overtuned, the fact it can fight this level of allo 1v1 this consistently really shows.

2: If you're including their mutations then its only fair to do the same to allo, you can easily and commonly take damage muts and congenital to make you do a lot better in the face tank as well as trading hits. It may be in diablo's favor, but it for sure is doable in an average survival scenario depending on terrain, especially with an ambush. It basically only takes the diablo revealing its flank momentarily for the allo to get a pounce, and then just win the face tank.

3: This was mostly to show that it isnt an allo being weak and instead is generally intended balance.

I just think theres literally no reason for thrash to do that much. against anything it can knockdown, thats just instant death, the base 4000 thrash alone would already be basically instant death for 95% of things that would even dream of attacking a trike

good question, I pose another one: why do the ceratopsians use lmb for literally every attack they make?
surely they could have made the controls much more intuitive by binding spar to tap crouch/jump while blocking is tied to holding crouch/jump. Or even just make spar crouch and blocking jump. Then they would have lmb and rmb and alt rmb to all work with to spread out its attacks to be easier to use.

why also does dibble/trike have to sweat on a pvp server for hours inorder to even stand a fraction of a chance against a rex? they made hold lmb and spar engage and thrash entirely useless so trike has to rely on sprint lmb, ctrl lmb ctrl, and sliding every single chance it gets to barely be able to kill a rex.

bleeder niche relies on long drawn out fights, allo isn’t very good at making the fight last long, u don’t have much stam to track and follow, and if u do draw the fight out long enough it just allows them to camp rock & water and output waaay more dmg than u can

allo in general is such a situational playable, every situation relies on the cards being dealt just right, and relies on 3 players’ cards to be dealt just right

with ambush style speed & stam, u can’t track bleeding prey much, and ambushing as a pack is the funniest concept ever it will never happen

Yeah you kinda rely on getting the early hits to stack bleed, and thus force the fight to stall out because if the target moves, the bleed gets exponentially worse. Without those early hits, they just get to good terrain and camp there.
