Well, that's exactly the "politics" effect I mean. The system has flaws, but instead of trying to fix the system (like buffing underpowered loadouts or allowing people to experiment more) a set of rules is put in place to glue over those issues.

Like how can things be marked as fixed and then not be? It's because our testing environment doesn't hold a candle to the amount of scenarios you guys can put the systems through. That's usually it. It'll be fixed in editor, be fixed when we test it in QA, think its all good and then several thousands of you get it in your hands and it's still busted in one way or another that didn't show up for us. Now don't misunderstand, it's not always due to that. Because sometimes things do slip through the cracks cause we're still human but generally that's how that happens. You guys can put things through its paces way faster than us.

And bary kinda in between it all while camara being truly the first of its kind. While quetz is a big pt so i think it could be realistic for December or late autumn. I think it all depends on when austro kentro bary drops

If prime becomes rarer and frail more common, I'd hope for it to become a little less punishing, at the very least on the speed side

I just hope that some objectives will be redone to be more logical because visiting inactive zones somehow counts and that makes everyone use vulnona map.
Another thing is that raising someone to sub adult before hitting 75% growth yourself is super tricky task to do as any animal which grows faster than any apex. And generally the longer growth time creature have - the easier times it has with achieving primes while smaller guys just have to splay speedrun (except troo, dryo, beipy, hypsi and pt) which is honestly very unfun - will that be adjusted?

So sometimes we can make the art and the tech anim dept and programming just plug it in and it's cool. BUT for other things, we have to work hand in hand, side by side. Where I will sit with them, do iterative design, change animations to specifically fit the technical requirements etc. Since the animals have such different sizes and proportions, one size, does not fit all and departments have to work closely together to make it work.

Let’s say for a requirement it’s visit migrations as a carnivore (or grow in a MZ as a herbivore). A Troodon has to visit 2 since it grows so quick whereas a Rex would have to visit 6 or 8 different ones because it takes longer to grow and hence has to do more

The issue with giving people a “prime bar” or checklist is that it would actually make MORE people get elder overall and generally you’d never see any non elders.

Instead of directly telling people what to do I’d rather incorporate it into tutorials. Having tutorials for stuff like MZ’s, PZ’s, Nesting, Diets, etc, you then have an Elder Tutorial which goes into entombing and how you know when you get it (4th mutation). But a description you could do for it could be something like: You obtain Prime Elder by living a good life and engaging with the game’s mechanics. Use all your knowledge of the different game mechanics to grow into an above average specimen

If obtaining elder truly is just engaging with the different game mechanics well (and hopefully later on adjusting requirements to vary based on the species size) and you had game tutorials on HOW to engage with all the mechanics then it should be up to the player to complete it. Give the player an idea of how to get it without directly telling them “you are doing it right”. Because ultimately it should come from trial and error

Altering the debuffs a bit to make getting to entomb actually reliable is a good start, and maybe a few more adjustments like letting you save entombent’s for later (once you entomb), and giving juvies grace periods when they spawn to not lose entombents

Just minor things encourage people to keep playing even if they don’t get prime and trying again when they entomb rather than just throwing themself off a cliff

i know Don is obsessed with Jurassic park but humans will be the most useless thing this game offers, either u give them guns and risk mixpackers/hackers taking advantage of long range weapons. OR u give them a melee and a car and watch them become free food every time they spawn

i'm with you on this, i played maia a few nights ago and i didn't get prime despite doing pretty much all i could think to do. the only difference was that i didn't have vulnona pulled up with the zones marked for reference. i figured i wouldn't need it as maia because you move around so quickly.

Kitten kissing, can we expect elder to take longer to through in the future? Or for the growth times in general to be brought back their original speed? The new fast growth times lead to the game feeling less like a survival game.
