lets get some ai like bison it would be fun to see
I spawned in as a fresh spawn teno right next to a herd of ai teno which proceeded to follow me around AND ONE CALL over and over which attracted a bunch of fg carno that came and killed me. Nice lol
Please do the work of looking into where AI should be placed more carefully. Rn its difficult to guess where you can find anything. You just wander around expecting to be lucky enough to hear AI sounds. We need something like, idk, chicken packs being around human structures, goats being on mountains, deer on forest, ANYTHING like that. Same for plants, its not very immersive to have all nutrients in only one place every time, it kills the initial purpose of diets and also sound dumb that you have banana on your diets but you cant get nutrients unless its located in your MZ atm.
can ai tenos lose stam pls. Its a bit hard to run after them for minutes when you dont so fast as them.
shower thought:
what if Ai pteros were buffed back to that op damage but instead of spawning on bodies they spawn on top of mixpackers and over packers? they'd get pecked to death for making our game experience not fun>:]
So apperently if u bring food back to the nest the little pteradactyls will murder all your babies, seriously, tune those things down. Its so annoying to get them spawn on litterally every little thing or big thing u kill, i am gonna say it again "ONLY LET THEM COME TO ROTTEN FOOD", this allows for nesting people to keep a clean household and counter it, instead of just oh here is food, andddd here is death in the form of tiny ass birds that hit way too hard for their weight(for little dinos at least)
Thanks for all the Ai tenos, it just makes surviving on the island more relaxed, even if you're alone on the server. Thank you...
mixpackers, yes, but overpacking i feel you make a oversight boss, that means babies die if someone nests 🙂 (cuz babies count towards packlimit for some reason)
Bassicly the game also will not know if its mixpackers, overpackers or just a normal fight playing out. All it will know is there is certain playables in close proximity to eachother, without any context, meaning those birds would interrupt many fights and just be even more annoying. if u ask me you need to take a 2nd shower and work that issue out, i like the concept and the idea of combating mixpacking.
Starving to death because there is nothing for you to hunt isn't fun. It just feels completely unfair and based on luck.
The difficulty of playing as a Carnivore shouldn't be luck based but come from tracking and taking down prey. I want a hunting experience that isn’t stumbling around, hoping to run into a chicken you kill with one bite. I want a reliable way for me to find AI (like Herbivores diets spawning in migrations, carnivore diet ai should spawn there too) and then earn the food by hunting and taking down that prey with mechanics and strategy.
I want to fail and that failure to be my fault instead of it being out of my hands whether or not I'll find food. I want to succeed and feel like I actually did something to earn it.
What Fey said, Only Deino and Ptera have options to find food almost everywhere since they can fish, most other carnis just dont have luck i couldn't grow one carni to adult due to starvation, and in my raptor playthroughs i starved with deers near me because i couldn't catch them, if im close FPS drop and it gets away,
It'd be neat if the pterodactyls didn't spawn every time. It currently feels like a chore that I have to deal with every time I kill something. It would be more fun if there were more pteradactyls or they had a bit more damage so when you did eventually get the event that spawns them you think "oh no the birds are coming" instead of "omg I have to fight these birds AGAIN"
Monkey ai that herreras can hunt, maybe they might even steal small bits of food if they get the chance.
Please 10X AI, you make it too 100% as a carno just to starve, Cannabalism is such a bad look'
For such an immense map, I think there should be more AI, and server cap increases. Also, there should be some way to switch between dinos on a server so you don't have to kill yourself to play something else.
Large fish should give you way more fillings than 1% when the croc eats the small school fish I gain about 3% per fish!! Makes no sense at all!
Jungles should be populated with squamates, small mammals and birds. As others have stated jungles (being the biome with the most diverse life in real life) feels empty, sure the flora is there but it lacks in fauna. Squamates could be a good food source for smaller animals. Small mammals such as rodents could also serve as a good food source for smaller creatures. Herrera could also eat birds. Plus snake AI could eat small Herreras in the trees!
So I been playing survival that for some time now I was playing a game in where animals attack you just like evrima AI, well because the developers are putting modern day animals. Can we have poisonous AI snakes that will give out a rattling sound like from green hell to warn you if gotten to close causing damage to the player. I would like it if their was snakes to begin with so juvie players or smaller dino players could have something to catch and kill to eat. Imagine seeing a juvie cerato beating the crap out of a rattlesnake. Now that I think about it, also allow juvie cerato to collect a toxic bite different compared to the adults. So that they can use it for their special attack. That way when they get older and develope a immunity to countermeasure anti venom, players like dilos venom bite might not be so lethal.
Maybe the AI could use F call every once and a while? It could be useful for finding them when you're nearby instead of waiting for a 1 call.
Love the tiny versions of AI that spawn in the groups, it's really cute and looks more realistic.
after the update there are literally no ai spawning at all. ive played 2 full lives as a baby not being able to find any food and ive covered almost a half of the map pls help
I do think AI is actually broke now, almost nothing is spawning.
Yeah ditto with the ai not spawning, I’ve starved twice without finding anything
^^ ive been on for like 2 hours and i starve everytime, there is no crab, no boar, no deer, no frogs- nothing
Mostly with the two new dinos relying almost soley on ai, it isnt doing great lolol
PLS Fix the AI there are only Fish AI on the Server (unofficial) tried 20 times to wipe it and it´s not helping, thank you very much
we need ai back, there is nothing here !
Add snake AI that climb trees and can eat juvenile Herreras. It would also stop Herreras from AFK'ing in trees!
Make it so elite fish don't count as AI, they are literally taking up any chance for other AI to spawn. As far as I know the fish didn't count before and they shouldn't now. (Screenshot from one of the admins of an unofficial server im in. They stated that all the AI they see are fish.)
i need more frogs, theyre so limited
"Added new AI world spawner", more like you removed ai completely.
People cried that the game was a starving simulation, but it was kinda fine. Now we have the real "Isle of starvation".
It’s obvious you guys have no viable solution for AI anytime soon. I sympathize with you guys, I really do. But until the servers can handle a healthy number of quality AI, until you guys can implement the dynamic range and number of AI needed to make a healthy ecosystem, how about you grant us a quality of life gesture and give us much longer hunger durations.
AI tenos should stop following after the player 3 calls at them
simply, MORE
bring back legacy ai you can at leasssssst agree that it worked then correct?
6th time dying to starvation....do AI exist anymore
Have AI spawn in herds instead of singular IE: Deer, Boar, etc.
I cannot find a single AI and its impossible to grow past 30% due to how large the map is i never run into people and i have to survive off fish or frogs IF im lucky
Just like everyone else, AI seems to be none-existing. The game itself wont be enjoyable if players cant catch any AI. With little to no AI showing up, spawning in as a juvie with so little food, is rather too extreme in my opinion. As a temporary solution. I'd suggest let us spawn in with a full stomach. It increases the chance to find the resources your dino needs to start their survival.
If there is a struggle behind the scenes about the AI, I'm sure it would make it more understanding to share it with us. ^^
I see next to ZERO AI spawns anywhere.... NEED MORE AI.
The AI conundrum:
Predator to prey ratio for wolves and moose can be from .15 - 4 wolves per 100 moose. That’s a very rough 15 - 400 lbs of wolf to 100,000 lbs of moose for a viable relationship.
In game, with 100 player carnivores of our current roster on server, we’d need something along the lines of at least 2500 AI roaming the server and a biomass of 2.5 million lbs assuming a large mammalian metabolism as an equivalent(currently we have the exponentially higher metabolism of a shrew).
Because we don’t all have the option of pack hunting prey 10x our mass in game, we need to increase the AI count to 25,000 entities for hunting comparably sized prey…by even more entities if we assume we hunt prey smaller than us…so let’s be nice and call it 30,000 AI entities of all sizes at a total biomass of about 2.5 million lbs.
Even if we made it so 1/10th of the required AI count was spawned in at any one time, even at 1/100th, the required AI count is likely prohibitive. As these AI would need to be constantly replaced while not being clustered/concentrated at a few spawn points, ideally spawning in persistent herds moving across the map. We’d need the bulk of these AI prey items being within the ~1000 lbs range. The smaller the AI size, the more AI we need.
I’m not convinced any reasonable amount of AI is even possible on the servers due to performance, especially because of our rapid hunger drain…even if you went with half or 1/4 the 2.5 mil lbs in biomass.
The best solution then isn’t the appropriate number of AI, the best solution is longer hunger drain commensurate with whatever AI counts and size the servers can handle.
I'm just joining the bandwagon here, I spent around 3 hours today playing as pteranodon, deino and dilo. Encountered 0 fresh NPC/AI food to eat. the only things I ate were corpses of some very rare NPC animals or players. There's a huge lack of wildlife in general. Even with the slowest hunger drain, I don't exactly feel like I'm having fun as a predator when I can't find any prey. I don't know why AI is currently in the state that it is but carnivores need way better AI spawns than this.
Please add AI back into game - thank you!
Make AI spawns consistant, at least of AI animals like deer and other ones. As of right now, older carni's diets only consist of the older dinos, and with so many people playing the new dinos there is almost no food to eat that can fill a diet. maybe like an AI animal has a 50% chance to spawn every 10 minutes that per player that is in within loading range or something
Would like to see Ai Tenos make a come back, that would be nice
Have AI scavengers like the ptero/compy go to decaying corpses first instead of fresh kills OR extend the timer for them to spawn with fresh kills to at LEAST sixty seconds, if not two minutes. Nothing is worse then finally getting something for food, getting a mouthful and immediately having to ditch said food and play ring around the rosie with ptero's so you can kill them - which CAN kill you if you're small enough - knowing all this running around is not only burning stamina but making it all the more likely other players are going to smell out your kill and you.
Let me eat in peace for two seconds eeeeeeeeeeeee ;-;
The solution really appears to be to just return the AI to the previous Evirma iteration before the most recent major patch. I think the vast majority of players would agree if it was polled.
Deinosuchus is completely unplayable after reaching a certain size due to the insane lack of food, no AI's or barely any + empty migrations area...
Fixing the deino's starvation issue would be a big + in the game as people spend HOURS trying to have a decent size one and dying of starvations is a shame.
pls add more ai or something this game is legitimately unplayable
yeah, more AI, most of my carnivore runs recently have ended in starvation because of not enough AI. It's unplayable. Even fishes are rarer. Even migration area are empty. The only ais I've found were a deer that could outrun me (as a baby dino) and some fishes, once, in 3-4 games. The previous map was already getting worse with finding less and less AI. Not everyone wants to be doing non-stop pv and that's when servers are full and you're in the "hot spot aread"
Problem: Horrible AI spawn, both in general and location wise.
Result: High risk of starving to death early and more inclination towards cannibalism in order to survive. + It makes the map feel dead. Hurts immersion.
Solution: Make AI spawn more often and in several different locations around the map.
I'm a relatively new player.
And I really want to love this game.
I also know that I still have a lot to learn.
But the absence of AI unfortunately makes the game unfun.
I've played 3 times since the updates yesterday and have starved each time without encountering AI.
Unfortunately, that doesn't make me want to try a fourth or fifth time.
I swam the whole swamp for over a hour and zero fish
I don't know if I'm stupid or something, but I played omni for about 50 minutes and couldn't find any ai.
no, the AI spawns are broken - as a carnivore the game is not enjoyable at the moment. Please fix the AI.
I just spawned in on our onofficial server, empty server. NE Plains, this is what surrounds me currently. I am an admin here, so I can fly around in spectator mode. The entire NE plains are empty except for these two spawns. This is broken.
Played on 3 different Officials for a good ~10 hours and AI is completely and utterly broken. In 10 hours I think I saw a total of 3 AI spawns and two of them were schooling fish. This was consistent between servers with a 100 pop and with a measely 20 pop. Didn't matter if I went to migration zones or ventured out on my own. Constant starvation simulator.
We need AI fixed and a more polished version of it. In the past we have seen dryo AI and even omni AI. Adding a more complete number of dino AI is a vital part in keeping the current playable carnivores alive and enjoyable. Regardless of the current spawns of AI being broken as of right now 80% of most carnivores rely on AI to support the only diets they can get being a fresh spawn. By the time your an adult its not sustainable. Unlike herbs that have seasonal diets and guaranteed food at migration zones. We literally have 8 playable carnivores in comparison to the 5 herbs 2 of which people rarely play. Omnivores also completely rely on AI and migration zones but they have the ability to forage for it at least. On top of all of that we only have 1 AI dino that can give organs that will straight up kill you.
Please revert the AI back to the previous system before the dev team take a break. Having them spawn more frequently and in greater numbers around larger groups of players is ridiculous and makes most of the map useless. Especially for people like me who like to go off into the various corners and coasts of the map. It makes exploring impossible and just surviving in general very difficult. Please and thank you.
AI dryos. also, increase AI Respawn rate by 50% or more
Please fix the ai, this game is currently a starving simulator.
There is very little on the map, add more
Here's an idea: Remove all the smallest AI critters (bullfrogs, rabbits, chickens) from the AI spawner entirely. You are never going to find them when you need them most anyway, especially as a tiny juvie carnivore who can barely look over the vegetation. Spawn far more 'smellable' burrows (like the ones for Galli/Beipi) and allow most carnivores under a certain growth/weight to interact with them. That way, the juvie experience is not as miserable and the servers are not strained by undetectable chickens in some abandoned corner of the map.
Some carnivore species rely too heavily on AI and the AI don’t spawn nearly enough to accommodate
As deino swam from swamp to water access and there were absolutely 0 fish. 0 on the way. I died where I first started. Pretty poetic, but not in a good way.
there is like 3 ai in the whole map
Bring back Legacy's AI spawning system where AI will spawn at an increased rate for players carnivore who are under 50-25% hunger, if the habitat suits the creature that could spawn. This acts as a safety net for players who are not near hotspots or migration areas for hunting their prey. In this case, smaller AI, like boar, goats, fish, deer, chickens, rabbits, frogs, etc would spawn.
For example, if a Cerato was hungry in a forest, a herd of deer would spawn.
Of course, this would not be the only AI that would spawn. This is, again, a means of assisting starving dinosaurs who cannot find food.
Literally had to eat a baby to stay alive. Think of the children, fix AI spawning.
been to 4 different migration spot and havent seen a single thing, it was never this bad on Isla Spiro :/
Two suggestions for AI:
- Make them louder and make 2 calls and f calls like a real player would (teno)
- Make them gravitate towards or '''migrate''' to migration zones. This would fix the issue of ai running off into the corners of the map never to be seen again, and it would fix the issue of not seeing ai.
Add smallish lizard AI to trees and rocks for juvies (and especially herreras) to hunt. If a lizard was on the ground and you chased after it, it might try to run to the nearest tree to escape, and herreras could chase it up the tree. Also also, you could allow some dinos to dig up the lizards from burrows.
I don't mean mini-raptors like compies, I mean proper lizards like in the images. Legs out to the sides instead of under them, and slower than compies to be an easier food source for juvies.
There could be different types of lizards as well, ranging from compy-sized to, like, large monitor lizard sized.
(I put this in general feedback as well) I think I speak for everybody when I say that AI spawning NEEDS to change. This was only an issue with the most recent update, and this update will die FAST if nothing is changed soon, because as of right now it is virtually impossible to find AI outside of hot spots (that being mainly spawn locations). This gives no incentive to travel to migration zones and every carni can just stay in one spot the whole time, and this also forces you into one spot of the map because leaving literally spells death every SINGLE time. Not a single AI will spawn if you are the only person around. At the very least make AI spawn at migration zones. If the AI could spawn more spread out and not be restricted to only spawning where theres large amounts of people, then it would be so much better. This is probably the biggest issue with the latest update right now, as for the playables themselves, you guys have done a great job, but please, address this issue soon!
Two cents on AI after testing Herra and Dilo on unpopulated EU servers (unfortunately - all I could get into):
-
Boars are the highest population AI I've come across, with Deer being second, Frogs third, and everything else basically not existing. I saw a only couple chickens and a couple goats (not enough to sustain my diet), but absolutely no crabs or sea turtles on the coast - even with a coastal Migration Zone active.
-
AI only seemed to spawn when I was staying in a migration zone and not moving. Both my Herra and my Dilo starved out because the migration zone moved, AI stopped spawning, ando so I tried to migrate. My Herra couldn't make it to the migration zone and starved out before it got there, while my Dilo made it but couldn't find a single new prey item, and starved out combing the beach for those non-existent crabs / sea turtles. Before I moved, the AI was spawning abundantly in the previous migration zones... mainly when I was sitting on my butt tabbed out.
Please seriously consider doing the heatmaps again to track AI spawns, and - if you can - track Migration Zones and how many Carnivore players starve out when the Zone changes, I am far from the only one with this experience judging by other feedback. Sure, survival shouldn't be easy - but when the majority of your players are starving out based on luck rather than their own skill navigating / hunting, you've got a problem.
I don't know where you're keeping the AI man but you gotta set those critters back into the wild, the dinosaurs are starving to death
I was super excited to play as a dilo and herra with the new update but who's surprised that none of the dinosaurs I spawned in even got to half growth before the starved to death, the only AI i saw was one, singular frog through my entire 3 hrs playing the game
The AI has been slowly declining even since Isla Spiro, every update I feel like the AI just got lower and lower and lower, and now its to the point where they're practically nonexistent.
Fix this man, I love this game, but I'm really not liking the starving/sitting simulator it's turned into
You are trying to stop people making hotspots with the migration system. But now, because of no AI, you are forced to go to them just to have food to eat.
We need AI!!
so far ai should have more personality
It is impossible to find fish as ptera anymore. There is huge lakes, but nothing in it. Starvation simulator
As everyone else, i tried growing Dilo and after the first unlisted patch on steam the AI spawn really got up, but after the second patch they literally dissapeared. Just turn up this AI spawn ratio, how lonmg can it take to do it? 5 minutes? and it would drastically change the feel of gameplay for many players.
Good morning,
Your official servers are full of bugs, it's been 8 times that I've restarted a carnivorous dinosaur, and there isn't an AI to feed me at least once, not a single frog, not a single deer, not a single only wild boar, not a stud, nothing at all.
Even in areas where BEFORE we found food very regularly NOW I run across the entire map there is NOTHING.
I find it unacceptable to release an update with such a bug which completely prevents you from doing the main thing in this game: MAKE YOUR DINOSAUR SURVIVE AND SEE IT GROW, you can't even go beyond the juvenile stage currently unless you have a lot of luck and I'm not even talking to you about the extremely frequent server rejects which only annoy me even more knowing that they don't even solve the spawn problem.
I understand that it's not easy to develop a game, but if I can give you some advice, fix these AI spawn problems because it's very frustrating not even being able to feed this and the players will quickly leave with server bugs like this.
Good day. <@&505047238674874368> @slender bone @austere scarab
Just make regional ai spawns❗️
For example, like the goats that spawned consistently near the south plains back on Spiro. They were always working properly. Pick regions for different ai, you can make them more widespread than the example.
This will make the carnivores to travel to specific places to find the ai prey.
Also have some generic ai to spawn everywhere.
How difficult can it be while u already have done it in Spiro? The current system is problematic from its roots. Please consider and take action ❕️❗️
I just starved to death as dilo again, because your ai sucks, more ai around more locations (ALSO just before i died i heard a pig REALLY far, this is cringe man)
ALSO fix dilo's diet, it is really cringe for it's adult size to eat small creatures that do not provide with enough food or nutrition due to being 700kg, it will need bigger prey than some small creatures that weight between 5 to 30 kg or even less
Make AI scentable. Small critters like rabbits or frogs are pretty much impossible to find unless you stumble upon them. They only serve for diet so why not make it actually possible to locate them.
Most of the players play with carnivores, and dilo can't eat any, which makes his diet a huge amount difficult, not to mention the lack of bots on the beaches I'm witnessing.
Make more fish in highlands - make diet in this lake is impossible.
Pls make the ai spawn more like buff them pls because I died of hunger and theres no boar or ai
Ai spawn in every general spawn location rather than in populated areas
And increase frequency and amount in general
The npc dont spawn i ran whole map and nothing
How hard is it to put more spawners around the map and increase the spawn timers. This map is empty, the whole game is a walk and starve simulator
Turtles.... Where? 🥹
Not sure if this has already been suggested, not even sure if devs read this stuff (doubt it), but I thought I'd voice my opinion anyway. I was thinking for small AI that don't have massive herds, they could have a chance of spawning animals belonging in the region in a radius around each player. A rather large radius, you still have to find your prey, it wouldn't just spawn in front of you, but if they remain outside a player's AI spawn range for too long, they despawn, meaning there wouldn't be AI out in the middle of nowhere, and saving server resources while giving carnivores a chance to find food. Perhaps this system could take into account how many players are in the same area as each others' AI spawn radius, and shift spawn rates accordingly, thus making it so competing carnivores would have to spread out some to more reliably find food if they aren't willing to share. If there are ever larger herds of AI, maybe these can be persistent, dynamic groups that move around to migration points relevant to their habitat.
As others have said, the current system makes it so that the only reasonable way to find AI prey is by sticking around hotspots, where you'll likely end up getting into a fight with a player anyway.
Map is way too empty. I rarely hear or see ai. The moment i spawn im immediatly in a rush to find food (thats how it should be), but you should be successful. Because 3 times ive tried ive ran around the map desperate, even hunting other herreras, but still couldnt manage to get my hands on anything. If i was able to survive i either vomited for no reason and starved later on or my dino just got wiped due to some weird bug. The new dinos are great, but everything else is a little messy rn.
Where did the fish in the Highland lake go to?
The ai spawn rate is nuts right now. I played 4 hours today and the only AI I came across was a single bullfrog.
I ran into a HERD of goats and deers (at least 5 all together) and then found 3 boars not even three rexes away from where i found the herd. PLEASE PLEASE fix this : D
There is AI fe. at west rail access i found deer. Fish on the other hand now seem quite rare at Highland Lake and Wateraccess
Ton of AI everywhere. Makes early life things easy. Love the changes. Ty devs for a great update
AI Spawn Rate
Needs to be fixed/settled
Per player in the area should generate what AI spawns and in what abundance according to size and location of course.
1-3 players small AI (Frogs, Chickens, Bunnies) 4-7 medium AI (Deer, Goats as well as a mix of small AI) 7+ players Tentos and all available AI.
TBH i am not sure how AI works exactly, so really am jus' spitballing here.
AI spawn rates should be swapped.
currently, AI spawns in high player populated areas which makes NO sense to me. if theres a lot of players in one area, they can already just hunt eachother. make it so that AI spawns in low player populated areas so that people outside of hotspots have something to eat. noone should be reliant on knowing what hotspots are just to have the game be playable
There is barely any AI anywhere around the map. It is now starving AND sitting simulator. Please fix the AI spawns. Perhaps have AI spawn once more where AI spawns when a player is hungry again.
going off of what this says but depending on the size/teir of the carnivore, like say a carno/cera, the ai that should spawn is something like a goat, deer, pig, or teno, the number of players shouldnt be the only thing that decides ai
Found some chickens and boars spawning inside of the mountain near Jungle Sector 1 today. Probably a problem considering there's limited amount of ai on the map at any given time
the vicious pteros are back. 😦 didn't even give me a chance to eat my fish before they started attacking my baby ptera and killed me.
before that i starved twice as a herrera since i couldn't find any ai food.
please bring back more Ai and especially the Teno Ai and how it was before the update. It's so hard to survive especially when everyone is just playing dilo and you have no chance of surviving as Carni. I also see fewer food sources for the Herbis in the migration zone and it is difficult to find diets when there are adult Herbis…. It ruins the fun of the game and just makes it frustrating to constantly starve.
Make AI spawn more and make teno AI F call aswell, because tring to track it down with scent is very hard imo
Its so boring, in patch note have so much things but in geral the game is so boring right now, stam system, IA system, diet system ALL of this things make a sitting gameplay
theres no ai
The AI spawn is terrible, and spawns only when theres a lot of players nearby. It shouldnt work this way, it should work that if a player is below 50% hunger the chance of AI spawning will grow drastically, like 2 boars 3 deers and 3 goats, 5 chickens 8 frogs etc. And if the player is nesting / paired with someone, the AI should spawn: 4 boars, 6 deers, 6 goats, 10 chickens, 16 frogs etc. This would encourage players to nest as well as keep the game enjoyable for solo players that dont find anyone so easily. I hope you will fix this problem soon and not after these 2 weeks.
No fishies for Ptera, seems they are totaly deleted on every Server i have testet.
Haven’t seen a single AI spawn in the last two days of playing, not even in heavily populated areas (I know there’s a lot of bugs and stuff just hoping the AI system gets fixed). I loved how reliable AI spawning felt in legacy, I guess spawning in the players zone when they’re hungry
This AI spawn ain't it cheif. Make it to where they don't spawn around players but spawn evenly distrbuted around the map.
I've seen a sinlge AI spawn in the past 8 hours of gaming, and starving dinos.
I do suggest reverting how the ai worked to where it was when gateway released. From what I have gathered it has caused a lot of mishaps, and Essentially turned things into a DM. I do hope you get things back as soon as possible
cant seem too find any fish or any other ai in the swamp
Please give more AI across the map I BEG OF YOU
needs to be more ai spawn for dilo mains like myself, i find myself eating herra players which arent on my diet, and are annoying to camp and bait in order to fuflill needs
I read that Ai spawns based on how many people is around, which I dont understand because I clearly remember you guys dont like eternal hotspots, therefore migration was implemented which is a nice addition BUT if noone is at the migration there is no ai and it sucks if you are a solo carno player for example. So my suggestion would be spawn ai in migration zones even if there are no players. That will make migration zones more attractive to all not just herbis, it also wont punish carnivours for traveling as much when there is no players around. With the stam changes and all I think it would be fair to everyone and even might fix these hotspots people create in NE plains and East plains. It just an idea.
PS.
Wish the dev and everyone happy holidays. Looking forward to what you will throw at us in 2024
The AI change made the Game unplayable... AGAIN
Use The legacy version of Ai, there it spawned depending on Hunger, if something hungry is near then Ai would spawn, now its like you find no Ai or like 6 Deers in one place
Yeah, will try to play this game again once I'm sure AI spawn is fixed. I've tried to grow my herrera 5 TIMES and every time I tried different biomes and starved to death each time bc there are literally no AI to catch.
The lack of Sea turtles / crabs along the coast is a serious problem. I walked all along the coast to the marshes east of the giant bird cage and saw no turtles or crabs.
As others have said many times lately, the recent AI changes have ruined the ecosystem. No migration, no traveling, just one or two hotspots and that's it. Dare to leave and you'll starve (unless you're an herbivore of course, but have fun with zero player interaction and challenge). I had already submitted feedback related to this issue in General Feedback, but I wanted to post a more specific to AI suggestion here, one that others have proposed that I agree may work out well.
What if AI spawned mostly in active migration zones, and scarcely elsewhere? This way, carnivores would be more encouraged to migrate, but wouldn't be FORCED to. They could still manage to find AI in other biomes where they'd make sense, it'd just be noticeably more difficult compared to their current migration zone. And most importantly of all, this change would rid us of the current "hotspot or die" situation! (Also since it's related, it would be very very nice if herbivore plants functioned this way as well, spawning scarcely elsewhere outside of migration zones.)
Even in migration zones I will have a hard time finding ai.
How did you guys get the AI so wrong? It was fine just before the update even.
I havent played in a half year for sure and it was before the Update much better. There is not a single fish in the Water?!
thanks to current AI everyone is sitting in 1 hotspot. Fix it please
I feel that AI should be spawning less but still some in populated areas and more in less populated areas. This would mean people can actually spread accross the map and for small dinos they can find the food they need without having to compete for it against Cera's, Dilos and Carnos 24/7.
Ai needs to be a bit more spread out
Ai is busted, having ai only spawn in large groups of dinos makes zero sense. Spread it out, I honestly didn't think you could make people camp one spot even harder than they did in spiro but you did.
East Plains has become the new center due to the AI spawns, people don't leave and corpses pile up causing an awful drop in performance.
The AI birds/compies aren't eating the playable corpses there, they're only really eating other dead AI.
No fish there, and there and at the other theres on the Map. sad Ptera.. 1 or 2 days ago there were new fishes but just for 1 day.
Ok at Water Acssess are fishes now
cant find regular ai
(only in northeast plains, they seem to thrive there, and a hotspot is starting to form, its very active there 24/7 probably the new NW like spiro had, and it explains why rest of map is empty)
also the tiny birds.. annoying. Cool that it gives better performance tho, i suppose let them eat rotten food, so we can appriciate those flying cleaners, instead of hate them with our entire soul. (wich currently is the case for many carnivores)
The amount of AI is ok I think, but the crowding in one spot is bad. I finally feel like I don't starve anymore (I am just not the best player in this game, which shouldn't be a hinderance, I just normally pick times to play when it's fairly empty, which led to me starving all the time previously)
I havent seen a fish in 2.5 hours
for the love of all things good, PLEASE fix the pterodactylus ai. i finally found schooling fish on my 4th run of pteranodon today (starved the other 3 times), caught it, and landed. i didn't even set the fish down yet and 4 pteros appear. as a fresh spawn, all it took was one shot to kill me.
schooling fish and other very small ai should NOT summon ptero or compy ai. and scavenger ai should have a delay of at least 5 minutes before appearing at a corpse. maybe 2 or 3. but right now, they appear almost instantly. it makes no sense. this is broken and ridiculous.
Still no AI. Died as a herrera 2x in a row from starvation.
I went for beaches for turtles. Nothing. Went for all the plains. Nothing... That can't be it guys... I'm going to take a break from the game now until the AI spawns are fixed. I tried for like 2,5h to survive. Everytime I starve to death...
Update 1: looks like im going to starve a 3rd time
Update 2: Yes starved to death again. What a surprise!
wheres all the ai? theres no fish, no frogs, no anything
too many youtubers complain about there being too many AI meanwhile nobody can survive anymore in any part of the map besides East Plains.
WE NEED LARGER AI CREATURES TO FILL OUT THE MAP SO WE AREN'T STUCK IN ONE MISERABLE PIT
Its honestly infuriating watching people who have no forethought about the regular players of the game get listened to
I agree with the post above, Please add larger AI like buffalo and elks, horses, not only larger AI but more types of AI like a birds nest for herra juvi, prolly some monkeys aswell, caimans so some deinos can get some action underwater without canni, maybe even more carnivorous AI like a tiger or smth, I don’t think they all need to be added but larger AI would be great so larger carnivores won’t starve to death
Scavenger AI should not spawn 10 seconds after a body goes down and bigger dinosaurs are present. They should scatter if something big is near and come back after a minute or two passed and a body's been abandoned
im loving the new AI changes, you know, those ones where there is no AI so that 9/10 i cant survive past infant stage as a carnivore
What i love is having to hog at a single spawnpoint so that i can actually survive as a carnivore because AI doesnt spawn anywhere else
I have just tried to grow a hera 4 times but died everytime because there is no food
No AI.. And if there are some its too hard to kill as a juvi...
I miss the tenos
What ai lmfao? its sad that you die of starvation 90% of the time, even on a full populated server devs fix this damn game to be actually fun to play... stop trying to push to meet your roadmap and take care of what we have now first..
ai? where?? they dont spawn at all
I HATE the fact that to find the FEW AI that actually spawn, you need to entirely play Marco Polo with it. With sheer amount of hills, plants and random foliage around. I had a horrible time finding a single chicken after searching for almost 2 hours wandering the map for scraps. Either boost AI to the point it isn't a 50/50 whether you can catch the dang things, or implement a hunting system where we can track and hunt AI prey when there aren't enough Herby players around. The fact I sunk a good chunk of gameplay towards a Dilo to die to starvation is ridiculous
If you want the game to be realistic, how about letting carnivores catch the scent of ai and turn down the hunger and water drain for all dinosaurs to fit the new stamina system.
Idk if they've implemented a new Ai spawn system or not, but im seeing Ai in packs of 3-5 Goat, Boar, and Deer. In a non populated zone at that! 👀 Idk if it's just my luck but so far this seems alot nicer than the one at a time from before.
Fun fact: AI can spawn in and just exist without making a sound, was starving in the jungle in the dead of night and got lucky when a silent boar just ran in front of me.
After I killed it I saw a deer spawn in next to me, didn't make any sounds except its footstep noises....
Seriously make this less RNG and let us carnivore players have a more involved hunting gameplay where we can actively follow AI scent like breadcrumbs instead of hoping they make enough noises for us to find them!
The AI is so scarce now. Honestly, I don't care how much y'all have to push back other bigger updates, please just give love to the AI. I have starved as a duck so many damn times because the fish dry up... I shouldn't be dying of STARVATION as a duck. This is ridiculous. It's getting to the point where it's not fun anymore. I love you guys, please just fix the ai
I have died from starvation off the start 3 times in a row and am yet to see an AI tonight. Tried all different spawn points and in different servers.
In East plains there was a whole herd of goat. But nothing anywhere else. That was just crazy. They need to be a little more spread out
PLEASE ADD TENO HERDS AGIAN WERE STARVEING TO DEATH
Why is it that in EAST PLAINS where all the dilos are is where all the AI spawn me and my friends were at the coast and NOT ONE AI WAS THEIR we left east plains because WE GET JUMPED BY OVER 10 DILOS NON STOP YOU CAN'T GROW ANYTHING. ADD MORE AI!
I think the AI system is just pretty broken at the moment. It feels like they only spawn in carnivore spawn areas. For example, as a Ptera, I flew all over the coast again and again and I didn't find a single turtle, anywhere.
I think spawn areas in particular should NOT be overcrowded with AI, but rather, similar to the migration zones for herbivores, they should also have areas where they can appear more frequently. Herd movements e.g.
i checked in admin, ai only spawns in NE plains and E Plains at a stable rate, idk how your new system works, but i can tell you 1 thing. It doesnt, every other area has almost NO ai in them ( 1 rabbit in entire swamp 💀 no wonder i cant find frogs) , admin mode was very revealing to how bad the current ai is, give us back the old one till you get the new one working properly, the old one was janky, but it was doable. and it filled the entire map with AI also, explains why is there 0 frogs in the swamp it should be brimming with frogs in that particular biome.. (Anyone reading this, dont bother spawning anywhere else then NE plains and E plains, you will find everyone is now there, cuz there is where the food is. Dev created the first gateway hotspot, gratz. Due to slow action of fixing it people will grow accustomed to this hotspot, and even if you fix it, it will remain a hotspot.. Good job dev!
hi, so im playing a crock and traveled the long way to the highland lake, only to find that there are not even fish in the sea. so i will probably starve to death as i might have a hard time hunting anything smaller than a baby crock. could you please add fish to every lake ect.? i feel deinos should be more tempted to explore rather than staying in the same 2 or 3 lakes, depending if you see the swamp as worth it. i don't.
so right after posting this i found 2 small schools of fish. now it doesnt feel like its enough but maybe the game needs to understand ppl are here that need food so now stuff is spawning in, idk. but at first glance it felt really unrewarding.
Make ai spawn in non populated areas. Thank you
i am finding a ton of ai as beipei right now! frogs, fish, and forage spots for crab. this is awesome! I'm far from the migration zone, but still have food as i move down the river toward it. nice!
Poor Deino died trying to kill a stego, because there aren't enough AI fish in the unpopulated lakes :/
Saw 2 beibis, big teno group and couple of dilos as solo Troodon its imposible to kill any of those. ONE chicken which dissapears to river ON MIGRATION ZONE. Once again starved to death because no enough ai spawns
Finally found a chicken while starving and it straight up disappeared right in front of me while I was chasing it... I starved and that was the only AI I saw all game
Put attacking AI piranhas in the water ways, for all species.
No AI at the beach at all.
Please add more ai for realism. Way more fish in the sea. And maybe birds or something or ai that actually spawns. I never see anything ever. Only some fish here and there. Starve most times I play carnivore
bring back ai please
if you made ai that can successfully fight back, why doesn't it spawn?
think it would be cool to have the playables as AI that is not super stupid. that way ur never sure if its a real player or not. they could also move in packs or herds and be aggressive depending on your distance to them or if they're hunting or not. say 100 players per server and what is not filled by player becomes an AI. but i'd highten the cap to 150 or so. idk what the servers are ok with. the more the marrier
Love not finding a single fish all the way from water access to swamp thats so much fun
one thing i think in terms of AI, fish or the small schooling fish atleast, should spawn along all the rivers regardless if players are around or not....
Why is a pig , bigger than a full grown cera torso but only fills you up 10%, like i barely eat food irl , but im stressing about starving in the isle… i cant start a family because its hard enough to feed my self, stegos can one shot you… this is crazy man, i feel like the rate your hunger decreases should be based on the server population.. 100% decrease at 100 player 70% at 70 players exc. Also the amount that the servers crash makes my nomadic dino pointless, all that sniffing and walking point less, im starving and i go across the map using my super smell for a tiny dino that dosnt even dent my hunger
Would love to give feedback but haven't encountered any Ai to give feedback for so maybe letting them spawn may help
Spawn more ai in the east plains, I always encounter cannibal dillos because of the lack of food. The only ai I have found there was an adult teno that killed an adult raptor.
The average 50 kg wolf needs roughly 3.5kg of food a day…that’s less than 10% of its body mass. It can eat upwards of 20% it’s body weight, so about 10kg of food…so about 3 days of food on a full stomach before it starts in on its body’s reserves(for which we basically have none in game)…reserves that would likely carry it for weeks.
If I had to guess, a boar in game should easily provide 100kg of food, so 5% of a Cerato’s adult mass. So assuming it had a mammalian metabolism, and stomach size for reference(it likely had less of a metabolism), we could assume one boar should be roughly 1.5 days worth, 2-ish days worth with the assumed slower metabolism compared to a mammal, worth of food…and fill an adults stomach some where around 25-33%…but let’s error on the side of a bigger stomach, let’s call it 20% fill.
What are we seeing in game as a comparison? Can an adult Cerato live about 2 day cycles in game off a single boar? How much hunger does a boar fill on an adult Cerato? Is CIG disproportionately shorting our dinos on food, duration of satiation and prey entities all at the same time?
I agree, the swamps are a huge disappointment, especially for a deino player these swamps should be filled with all sorts of life form
With no other players on a server, over 20 boar spawn around me while sitting down for less than 5 minutes. When in a populated server, no AI spawn around me for over 30 minutes and I starve.
Killing any AI instantly spawns murder birds that instantly kill you as a juvenile, which makes no goddamn sense since they are less than 10% of my size, and scavengers would have no way of smelling my kill that fast
Ok all the suggestion on how the fix AI spawns has been well and good but I think they've all been very band-aid solutions that at the end of the day only slightly fix the problem.
- AI spawns near active migration zones
- Overall not a bad Idea and incentives carnis migrating, however, this does just create essentially a moving hotspot which I don't think many players would find all that engaging and still discourages exploration
- Go back to legacy's AI system
- As said before not a terrible solution but it does have it's issues, such as, encouraging idle behaviour because (as far as I've been told, correct me if I'm wrong) in Legacy Ai was spawn in proportion to how many hungry and/or starving dinosaurs were around which, if true, also discourages solo play as well
My suggestion.
- Is rather simple, Ai should spawn were the diet codex (Or whatever it's called) says they spawn, for example, the deer is said to spawn in all land biomes so they should be relatively common (Maybe to balance out this commonality have them give less diet individually), I also think this system, along side some tweaks to migration zones (see @pale bluff most recent suggestion in #general-feedback-discussion) would localize some playables to certain areas while also allowing for movement across the map for solo players and groups.
why dont you guys revert to the spiro ai system? at least it worked properly, i rarely had issues with it, and all my starvations on spiro were my own bad decisions.
please make carnivores and omnivores be able to smell AI, deer, boar, chicken and rabbit certanly have strong smell (even humans can smell them but not from large distance)
NOT ENOUGH AI SPAWNS! I have died from starvation as a carnivore 95% of the time, the other 5% is falling into hidden caves , pitfalls and other traps on the map.
Goats make no real noise
Got the game recently. It’s super fun but the ai is what’s ruining it for me. I’m wanting to play it less and less. If the ai only spawns where players are. Just remove the legend on the map that says they spawn anywhere. It’s super misleading. And kinda boring. I got this game to play solo or with a group when I feel like it. I can’t even do that. I gotta starve the whole time. Or have to find others. Even tho the map index\codex says “hey these spawn here and there”. No they don’t lol. Where’s the realism? The game is full of woods and rivers and swamps. And it’s completely animal free. Feels as lame as path of titans tbh. Empty. I know the games is kinda in an alpha ish state and more is to be added. So I have faith. But please add way more types of animals. And spawn rates for those animals. Game feels too lifeless
more ai
WHY IS THERE NO AI ANYWHERE
low AI & crow player based food is very time wasting
Were the heck are all the FISH T_T
Several times I have died due to a lack of anything/anyone nearby, and as a result I have to stick to highly player-populated hotspots just to have a chance to eat.
Dinosaur AI & Migrations
Rather than finding Teno aimlessly wandering in circles in certain areas, I think "random" spawns in the woods should mostly be animal AI, while herbivore dino AI should be relegated to interacting with the Migration Zones, with AI herds following road paths from one migration area to another, each having different behaviors when encountering players and having AI "babies". I think Dino AI should have 4 different species as "tiers" of AI prey: Dryo, Teno, Stego, and Triceratops. Upon reaching an active migration zone, each species will stake out a spot and meander around that area, "eating", "drinking", or "resting", until the migration zone moves again.
Dryo AI for easy hunting or something small tiers can successfully hunt. Quite skittish. Will follow paths towards migration as a group but scatter to the winds if carnivores show up, preferring to run instead of fight, disappearing into the woods, forcing carnivores to hunt them down. Will eventually regroup on the road and continue their migration. Generally won't run from other smaller herbivores / omnivores (Hypsi, Dryo, Beipi).
Teno AI for a moderately easy hunt for some small / mid tiers. Will group on the path for migration but start to sprint toward their destination if carnivores omni sized or larger show up and get close. Will fight back if a predator gets within range of them. Herb players can take advantage and travel with them.
Stego AI for a more difficult hunt. Travel in smaller groups and follow the path for migration. Will generally keep moving unless actively attacked. Will not run / will stand its ground and defends itself. Will start walking again if predators leave or stop attacking for a while. Tolerates player stegos or other herbivores following them.
Triceratops AI. Travels solo or in groups of 2 adults, occasionally 1 juvenile. Follows migration path. Highly aggressive and will attack unprovoked if you get too close. Do not tolerate company.
Hey hey, just another rant/input of the current situation with AI spawns which will hopefully be looked at (you guys do have a flood here since the winter break, sheesh..)
I just think that the AI should be less dependant upon player positions and more dependant on location, as in they have a chance to be somewhere specific. It allows the player to traverse more freely across the map and "check out" different areas which is something I like to do, and one HUGE thing right now is that you cannot depend on the AI to be anywhere else than hotspots, (mostly NE spawn and the highlands) which is annoying for when i want to "stalk" somewhere else as a carni main like a few weeks ago or just go to a more photogenic/neat location
I liked when the AI spawned in a certain area, but wasn't guaranteed to be there. I'm not too particular about how the system would be "fixed" but I just know the current system feels like you're only forced to be in a specific area to guarantee that you don't starve.
( should of posted it here instead of general feedback, sorry for the repost )

The current rendition of AI has rolled back the attempt to remove hot spots using migration zones as AI will spawn near a random player, making it easier for them to be found when alot of players linger around the same area, that now being both East Plains spawn areas. I see the direction they are going for to help with lag, not having all the AI randomly spawn around the map but is not good for players that want to explore the map as they are punished by it and the herbivores will be mostly unimpeded by any carnivors as most do not find any food outside of those hot spots or just eaten by adult carnivores. Coastal AI seems like a myth as well as no one is staying around the coast or even going to coastal migration areas. Rip sea turtles and crabs
-
I suggest they keep the system but make it so it prioritizes players within the migration zones and have occasional spawns at player spawn points so carnivores can find food they may need so they can get to the migration zone.
Was playing as Ptera, after searching for a while and going from full to starving I finally found 2 schooling fish at a small area between waterfalls. Managed to snag one fish before they both disappeared in front of me, 1 despawned quite literally as I was 4ft away approaching to get another fish. Starved shortly afterwards because, well, AI tends to literally disappear front front of your face.
small AI like frogs, crabs, chickens, ect should be made abundant in sanctuaries (as in there should be a 100% chance that u find them there) along with new small AI that can climb trees like lizards and bugs (for herra)
these creatures could only appear on larger dinos diet when they are small enough to have access to sanctuaries.
I think the AI spawning before the recent update was actually really good with the notable exception of spawning too many Tenontos and not enough of the smaller land AI (especially rabbits).
The last update completely ruined it and basically went back to the horrible legacy system - the main difference being legacy spoonfeeding hungry carnivores instead of just random players, which is arguably a bit worse in the grand scheme of things, even though it's less annoying for the carnivore player being spoonfed.
AI spawning near players simply doesn't work and shouldn't be a thing. If it is done for performance reasons it's probably better to expand on the "dormant AI" concept, for example by replacing AI outside of player ranges with placeholder location markers and then spawning them when a player appears in that area.
dial back the ai PT's that attack when you down an AI kill. As a playable PT you literally can't do anything but surrender the few but rare kills you get on the ground for a good couple of min and hope something on the ground didn't come steal it. They (the ai PTs) serve no purpose for anyone and only retract from the experience of being a squishier dino.
can we have more deer and piggies spawn
fr i pretty much crossed the entire map and not one ai had spawned and i died yall need to add more ai spawns
the devs should try changing ai spawn behaviour to only spawn in migration zones. that would get rid of only having one hot spot on the map and make people move around
That could honestly just result in the same issues we are seeing now. Ideally migration zones are areas where you can somewhat reliably hunt other players so having all the AI there, too, makes it really awkward. Basically that AI is just propping up carnivore numbers which in turn really harms the herbivores as well as the smaller/solo carnivores who can't really deal with the big packs.
It would probably be better to just spawn AI evenly around the map at a - on average - low-ish rate. This way you aren't screwed while travelling between areas but migrations zones are still more attractive, because that's where you are more likely to find more food there.
If the migration zone is empty of players you find at least the same amount of AI as elsewhere.
If the migration zone has players you can hunt, that's awesome.
If the migration zone has mostly herbivores out of your league you still get the AI for yourself.
If the migration zone has tons of big carnivores, they will quickly deplete the AI and drive away most player prey.
(Disclaimer: The last one doesn't work at the moment, because carnivores can theoretically farm each other forever, but at least with AI elsewhere you don't have to join the slaughterhouse.)
Bigger ai should have organs
Chickens, consider slowing them down just a tad and allow us to pick up their footprints as currently they don't leave any. They move erratically, incredibly fast and due to their small size they're easily lost without being able to track them.
delete playables AI and add non playable less detailed AI like adding an lets say struthiomimus as AI but its not an playable means it doesnt have many animations so its faster to make because no real herbi player gets respected and i sometimes get attacked by like juvi carnos or as AI teno add like an corytho but WITH WAYYY less animations soooo yeah 😄
Can't even eat a fish without being swarmed by pterodactylus, it's almost impossible to grow any small tier carnis since they can easily kill you as a juvi
Herrera came with a bang but crashed and burned. Growing and surviving as a herrera is a game of luck.
Please add schooling fish to herreras diet because its our staple food at the moment.
Maybe add a small lizard AI that lives in trees for herreras to catch and eat. We spend so much time in the trees and yet they provide us no food
Dynamic AI with seasonal cycles and dynamic locations. More hunting ai means less ai. Less ai hunting means more ai. This is gonna be very hard to balance but could be amazing if pulled off correctly. At this point the ai is already squashed so it's only up from this tbf. You could have traveling herds of deer and elk, and ai dinos. Maybe replace chickens with a flock bird like geese, turkey, etc. Then the players would need to decide if they want to try for the elk/deer herd during a "winter" or stick with players. Then if too many people exploit the herd it will be a while till they replenish and will have to resort to hunting players. Or just hunt players to begin with and let the ai build in numbers(with a hard cap of course for performance along with balance). Would make for an immersive experience walking along seeing the big herd go past(or flock or whatever you want) along with a more realistic approach to getting food.
sea turtles and crabs are rarer than unicorns
Can we get feedback on our feedback? It's been almost two weeks and no official acknowledgment of the AI issues is very discouraging. I know it's holidays but it doesn't take long to say "We're aware of the issue" at the very least.
would give feedback on the ai if i could find any 🙂
We need more ai every time i spawn in as herrera I need to go to hotspots where I keep getting killed by everything and i cant move from the hotspots or i will starve
add more schools of fish, playing a ptero is impossible RN i played in groups a few times and we all end up commiting suicide because fish just does not exist
WE NEED MORE AI
Please please please revert back to the previous AI system. I miss exploring the map and nesting in a random corner as well as just playing the game I would like to. Please and thank you.
Subject: AI MIA in Isle Gateway - Send Out The Search Party!
Dear Isle Team,
I hope you read this message. First off, kudos on creating a game that's become quite the addiction for me - I cant put it down!
Although, ever since Gateways release, the AI has pulled a Houdini on us. I've been wondering around the game, Highlands, Swamp, Fields, Rail Accesses, and where AI should be teeming with life, I'm only met with the sound of virtual crickets.
Is the AI on vacation? Maybe its just shy and needs a little pep talk to come out of its coding shell. EITHER WAY, please raise the amount of AI, I have starved numerous times in areas where AI SHOULD be abundant, and it isn't.
- The Oceans lack sea turtles (Haven't ran into those at all.)
- The bodies of water lack fish (Not all, but I've ran into some lakes and ponds that have nothing in them, I dont seem to have the same issue with rivers.)
- More AI in general (AKA: Deer, Boar, Goat, Crabs, Turtles Frogs, etc.)
- Perhaps we should have different types of AI, especially in areas such as Swamp, they are a huge disappointment, and your basically asking for death if you go there as a carnivore, especially for a deino player. (The amount of dead deinos I've run into that have most likely died of starvation, or fighting a stego to death trying to get food is ridiculous.) These swamps should be filled with all sorts of life forms.
Consider this my friendly plea: Please give us more AI so we dont starve, bring the AI back from its mysterious escapade. We miss it... ALOT.
Looking forward to the AI reunion.
Cheers,
Starving Isle player.
Get rid of those AI PT's for freshspawns. Kind of silly to start you near starving and then have you get swarmed with ai capable of killing you as soon as you catch that first meal. Do you guys only want fresh spawns to scavenge already dead things is that it?
Please, Fix 👏 the 👏 AI 👏 Spawns....
POV: Fresh carni spawn and you've run 100m

When fixing the AI spawning system, I don't think the same system as Spiro will be most efficient, as everyone complained about a lack of AI when there were indeed many AI already on the map that just weren't being found.
I think a huge help will be the ability to smell signs that prey is nearby, as a majority of carnivores in the modern and prehistoric worlds did. Relying on sight alone is nonefficient, and with the average player that is starving sprinting through the forest, it's a low chance they will hear one of the AI's few calls. Maybe tracking somehow by tracking shedding, eaten plants, dung, footprints? etc. I think a more indepth system like this will also really compliment the AI dinosaurs, for example, if there is an AI tyrannosaurus around, you can smell the signs of that and get outta there. If you wanna hunt it, keep tracking.
We already do this to a degree, as people will follow the sounds of herbivore broadcasts. It could be taken a step further with AI.
Animals utilize scent a LOT. When it comes to hunting or even avoiding, I think it would add a lot to the immersion. Even humans, when hunting, are looking specifically for signs that they are in the right place or nearby their targets. When I would walk in the forest in some parts of bear country, I would see scratch marks on the trees, bear dung, even strings of meat strewn across leftover carcass areas. The world is full of visual and olfactory hints of life.
This sort of AI tracking system will really help gameplay overall (I think) and make the process of finding AI more fun, while setting up a good foundation for future AI dinos. That way, you can travel to far desolate corners of the map to nest or explore and be able to have the challenge of the hunt as long as you put the effort into it, rather than being limited to primarily human senses (sight and lucky hearing). Granted, I think this would be most fun in use with ai dinos that arent as loud as boars, etc
||Also, having chickens sleeping on trees at night (they prefer to roost up high on trees when living in forested areas) would be cool for herreras!||
frogs are broken now lol infinite food glitch
It would be cool if they add an AI herd random Spawn obvisouly we wont know where they are. But imagine a bunch of Teno spawn all the way south as a random spawn point and carnivores learn to work together hunt in packs and have to take the herd down. But they can also fight back and protect their babies and all of their herds. IT would just add food oppurtunity for hunts and a more things happening in the game. ATM walking around all day on the beach cant find anything. The only scent I get is the Sanctuary, Yep have died through starvation just now wow
Thank you for adding schooling fish to Herrera's diet, finally 😄
not sure if it has been covered yet or not, if so please dis-regard....is it possible to add some ai to the swamp area? That place is beautiful and I would love to be able to take my deino down there more often but I cant due to hunger
Please get rid of the Petradactls or lessen the dmg they do its annoying after a fight u go to eat and then die to a pretadctl cus your low
Because the majority of the players in the isle play as carnivores, the small herbivore population just follows the migrationzones and the carnivores are all sitting in one spot (meatgrinder of doom with piles of dead bodys everywhere) and eat other carnivores. If you guys increase the time that a carnivore goes without food and maybe put some AI herbivores maybe even some small herds of them in the game and let them follow the migrationzones that would spread all the carnivore players out a bit and increase the fun you can have on servers with low player numbers.
Maybe responsive to number of herbi players so when no-one's an herbi there are more and when plenty of herbis despawn or someth?
I have been constantly thinking about how I would myself implement the AI spawn system, like what would be the rules, and it is quite tricky because you either give a way for people to grow carnivores with no fuss solely on AI or you turn the game into the starvation simulator.
But here are some ideas:
- Small fishes, frogs, rabbits and chickens are spread evenly all over the map and are relatively easy to stumble upon. You can't grow an apex dino on those, but it will give a chance to avoid starvation while you are searching for the main course and will allow smaller dinos to sustain themselves.
- Boars, goats and deers spread all over the map but at a lesser quantity than the previous one. Also avoid spawning in hot spot areas. And that, I think, is the most important rule, because if you are in the herbis migration zone you are supposed to hunt other dinos not that kind of AI. But once you leave the zone you start seeing some AI, that way you are not 'stuck' to one zone and can actually slowly navigate through the map without risking the starvation.
- Dino AIs should spawn in their appropriate migration zones to boost up the absence of real players in that zone.
Like let's say there is a migration zone for tenos, dryos and pachys and the zone is supposed to fit around 10 dinos of each type (the numbers are to be played around, that's just a rough idea) So, if there are 8 tenos, 1 pachy and 1 dryo of real players in the zone, you won't spawn any more tenos but AI pachy and dryo are supposed to spawn to get closer to 10 dinos of each dino.
That way carnis will have a chance to fill their diet while in the migration zone even if there are no players that play that dino.
still no ai
I was looking around the beaches still no luck of anything spawning there same with some of the water sources nothing around or it just refused to make a sound
swamp lake at south empty of fish, being a deino is hard because rivers are empty
Fish is spawning plentifully in the south-plains river, in the spot where I am sitting next to it. However, I can't get any other ai to spawn except fish and frogs. I moved around the whole south plains ( I am the only one here, playing herra, trying to test ai spawns.) and couldn't get any boars, goats deer, not even 'field frogs.' Went to the ocean and sat next to it for about 5-10 minutes, but nothing, not a single creature other than myself.
I do appreciate the fish spawning in rivers I sit next to though.
Edit: Now I am finding boars, chickens, and deer, but NO FISH. I am herra near the south dam migration zone.
Okay so i found 50 frogs and for some reason the fish just swim out of the water and on to land. Well they swim into the air where i cant catch them. Not that i really need them, there are 50 frogs, 5 schools of fish and 6 other big fish. I just loged on after the new update but right now there is too much food.
um thanks for fixing the ai... not sure how to explain this so imma just leave it here
Small-tier carnivores (Omni, Troodon, Hererra) should have the option to "Forage" certain smile AI out of the ground like frogs, crabs, and compies just like Galli is able to.
Could also add some additional food sources to dig up like clams, oysters, turtle eggs/babie turtles, insect mounds, snake burrows, rodent burrows, etc.
There is NO AI- Playing in NA-7 with 35/100 players- you would think me and other players in the group would find something along my dietary needs -_- Much love- A starving Dilo
The AI has a flawless reaction time of 10 seconds.
Note: I have 10 ping in most other games and am on the lowest ping server The Isle has to offer.
Not enough frogs I can barley find any
If, at all, the AI system is not reverted, consider reversing its requirements.
Something as simple as “Less players in X region = more AI” would solve the hotspots issues, as players will now need to spread out for AI to spawn adequately.
I dont see any of the AI fixes... Im starving even more than before idk what you did but it didn't work
I’m waiting on the next patch…I’m guessing lice and biting flies…
I have been playing on the QA server, nice work with the boars and deer again. Chickens seem to be rare but I've found a few. I can't find many schooling fish now though (dam by the swamp/beach/delta) and I haven't seen any crabs or sea turtles yet either
Edit: 4 sea turtles in one spot on official servers! Nice work. I also found a chicken. No deer or boar yet though.
Don't need ai spawn rate fixes. We need ai placement fixes. East and East plains are still where all the ai are.
No wild boar or deer have been found yet...
Relocate AI to spawn more where there is less players, and less where there is more players. Despite other people seeing 5+ AI in one area, I have seen zero. There is nothing to eat outside of hotspots.
make AI have an equal chance to spawn in a given area where they spawn, and it stacks based on how many players are in the area. this would allow for young to grow and allow people to spread out more, and maybe make the number of AI that spawn from a spawn area max out at a point, requiring a few minutes to "recharge". this would fix most problems i think
I have no idea if this is even possible because my knowledge of coding could fit in a thimble, maybe smaller. But would it be possible to set up AI to spawn based on a specific factor other than general player count? Like if there's 8 players in an area but they're all raptors, no AI will spawn and they end up starving before they can even get to other players. Maybe something as specific as number of Player Herbivores or Packs in an area. More than packs and AI spawns less, or the more Player Herbivores in an area the less AI spawns, rather than just the number of players.
I have been looking forward to THE ISLE this game can let the AI dinosaurs as the dominant, the player becomes a member of each AI dinosaur community, the player can only join the server through the way into the egg, and decide which AI community to lay eggs need a big data AI to regulate, so you can be very perfect control of the proportion of members of the various dinosaur communities
When you are born in an AI dinosaur community, it is safer for you to follow the colony, but it is more dangerous for you to leave the colony. Players have the freedom of choice, but their personal choices won't affect the ecological cycle of the whole island too much.
My bepi got frozen in place after attempting to eat a pterodactylus (also compies don't seem to be edible for it either)
Still didn't see any big AI during my poor cerato life until starving to death.I miss old AI spawn logic so much.
Now ai is heavily present in some areas, but other areas are ignored, leaving the entire map empty.Pls fix it.
I still can’t find any turtles or crabs or anything along the beaches ever. Even in the map he showed with AI to give us an idea of where AI are, lol, the beaches were empty AF but he claimed there should be plenty if we go to the beaches. Did he not look at the same picture he linked before reassuring a falsehood so confidently? 🥺 bleh 😫
The amount of AI spawns in river delta feels good. With this level of AI the game no longer feels like a starving simulator and makes the stamina system manageable.
AI are super super sparse and when there are AI's, they are all grouped into one congregation. It's so weird.
eu7,rivers are still empty of elite fish, thats why deinos have to do cannibalism.
I think AI shouldn't be depend on players position. Give them places where they spawn it would encourage people to wander around and also create scarcity in areas with alot of players since theres not enough to feed all of them.
It would also add to immersion since they could be found in different habitats. (deer in plains. boar at the edge of forests for example)
You could make it dependant if a player is close enough to that spawning area to let them spawn (range should be wide enough so they dont just pop into existence in view) so theres not a heavy load on the server because of AI in dead areas (meaning areas with no player activity which is most of the map currently).
To add to that you could make more use of the migration zone and let more AI spawn there to encourage carnis actually checking it out since its barely used currently.
I agree I see no point in migration in general be it herbis or Carnis if there isn't a high spawn of food in those areas to make migrating worth it. Iv migrated tons until recently on both sides of life. I'll get to migration zone and who would have guessed it no ai or vegi spawns. Vegi spawns need to be abundant not just a handful
Been trying to survive at southwest access but there werent any ai spawning.. Please fix!!
Can we just have some spawn in general for goodness sake? Not understanding what the problem is.
The lack of elite fish is crazy to me something that only provides 6% food and your lucky to find a bundle of 3-5 which in 30 minutes your not to find any more elite fish except for a certain part in rivers and in low quantity, nonetheless schooling fish have been non existent to sparse at 1 pool in an entire river from water access to swamp i found 1 pool of schooling fish and 5 elite fish through that ENTIRE system that is the equivalent of crossing the entire map in water to find 35%ish percent in food which 15% isn't even diet and by the time I had searched all the way to swamps that's 35% food is gone so I turn around hoping that me traversing that area would pop more fish up behind me, BOY WAS I WRONG I found 0 of anything and started surviving off boars and deer that roam coastlines and ended up at 10% food on my croc and i'm scared to login in except in this ONE spot in the river every 30 minutes eat EVERYTHING and log off for 30 more minutes just to after 2 hours of cheesing it to stay alive, BEYOND REDICULOUS. If I cant survive how is any other crocs going to eat, We dont all like cannibalizing or eating players nonstop (when they dont use the 4 safe drinking spots) PLEASE HEAR ME OUT!!!!!!! -a starving, crying, coping deino main ❤️
Think I played between 9am to 1pm as a Deino and encounted 0 fish and maybe 1 frog. If it wasn't for two bodies I found I'd have starved to death a 3rd time. The large Water Access area should have a fixed constant spawn of fish. They don't provide too much food and give starting deinos a chance.
legacy had way less ai on the map but it worked much better, because ai made noises that made it possible to find them, we dont need more ai we need ai that make calls
Delay Scavs (Compies/Ptero) interacting with fallen bodies.
At the present time, as soon as a body drops, within seconds the appropriate AI will converge on it. My suggestion would be to delay the time by which scavenger AI will appear - possibly even by a few minutes. This not only gives time for player dinosaurs to get their fill before being harassed but is also more realistic. Scavs by nature would likely not appear right away, but would be more likely to risk picking at scraps AFTER the hunter has been satiated and/or left the location.
Not only the above, but instead of being able to eat their kill right away, the player is forced to "deal with" the ptero attacking them or compies hoarding them. The general way of handling this is by killing the AI, then returning to the original kill. This leads to more decomposing corpses that clog the system instead of the opposite (and which is what I believe is intended with scav AI) - to clean up abandoned corpses so they are not weighing down the server load.
Been playing Carno on EU2 since 03:00 AM --> 07:20 AM, i held shift down the entire time and run across the plains. Not a single time did i see AI, so after making Carno number 8 i quit the game.
Have also played for several hours without coming across any AI. Even after the 'update' on 1/6/24.
Please fix the fish spawns, fish never seem to spawn around ptera anymore, you cannot survive at places like southwest access without fish spawning
unplayable as carnivore without AI pray 😦
Never seen any turtles or crabs not once in gateway, no spawns in the swamps
Seen a goat for the first time since a year evirma, i think the ai maybe is fixed
didnt see any fish in 30 min near swamp
there is alot of AI now XD
I am now finding boar and deer with my ai-testing-herra, but haven't found sea turtle or crab (checked the beach for them, found boars on the beach instead) and I am struggling to find fish along the rivers, although I got a few to spawn.
Edit: I found one sea turtle now, looks like they are more rare. No crabs so far. Still struggling to get fish.
Still struggling to get fish, and also have not seen a single crab (other than crabs I spawned with beipi) since Gateway released.
Good work on AI spawns devs . Can you guys work little bit on fish spawns as well . There’s absolutely 0 fish near swamp area
I was at Dam lake for a while as a deino. Found a few frogs. But fish of any kind no longer spawned.
played for over 2 hours and didnt see any fish, no schooling fish whatsoever, had to log off on my deino so i wouldnt starve
Please add schooling fish back PT playing starvation simulator without them.
Here is my feedback on AI since the latest fix after a few hours in :
Initially. fish, Deer, Boar, Frog, Turtles spawned in just fine. (Boars and Deer seem to be very abundant in this patch)
After the initial food binge of players on the server, it seems like Fish, Frog did not respawn. I have scouted the river of South plain, and Water access all the way down to the crossing bridge and even North of Swamp. No fish ever respawned after it was eaten.
Boars and deer though were seen pretty commonly.
I did not see a single Goat or crab though but surprisingly enough turtles were spawning just enough to be a welcomed sight.
I've been finding plenty of Deer, Goat and Boar after the latest fix. Compies seem to come in and run away faster too which is a good thing IMO, they should be skittish so they aren't killed a whole lot and can clean up bodies.
Fish on the other hand haven't been respawning for some reason, maybe I misunderstood how it's supposed to work but it feels like they ware nowhere once eaten.
Ahhh yes. Ai update= more AI Right?no its harder to find AI Then it has ever been.
NEED FISH!! Also, AI don't spawn on the west side of the map, at all.
chicken and rabbitss spawn on shore but havent seen any turles yet
I've been all up and down Water Access lake from the dam to the swamp and I didn't see a single school of fish. Not one.
u need to bring back fish ai crocs cant survive and neither can pt fix it back to the way it was
OKAY More update on AI fish and spawn. As a denio i wen from Dam Lake to Swamp and NO fish at all. On the way back up the channel from swamp the server crashed. On restart Fish Everywhere. PLayed for an hour and there are no longer any fish ai spawns
fish are no where and it sucks
So what day is it today, boils, dead livestock, death of the first born?
Fish no longer spawn after being killed for the very first time on a server- playing as a ptera is impossible
for the time you could live off crab ig
Fresh water turles for Dienos to eat in their diet plan
Hello together,
first, happy new year, everyone! 🙂
I recently started playing this game and I have to say thank you for this game.
Also, I changed to the Evrima branch and mostly play pteranodon.
I know that it is an Alpha, and therefore I decided to give my personal opinion on the Dino and AI.
First would be the stamina of pteranodon, big birds today can rest while gliding in the air (no wing flapping).
Second is the AI (little birds), which ruins the gameplay of Pteranodon (I think for other dinos as well). Example: Recently, I was starving to death and found some goats in my last minutes to live before dying. To my luck, they were in the mud, and I was easily able to kill the smaller goats to carry them on land and fill up my stumach. This would be a 100% survival without intervention from other players, but here's the problem: as soon as I grabbed the goat, I was attacked by small birds which killed me with a few hits before I was able to consume my caught award (goat). That means for me that I have to have enough left health to catch food because if I'm low, I can just give up the dino because I would not survive the attacks from the little birds. That means i'm not allowed to be low on health for eating, and I think that destroys the fun of survival because you can just ram your pteranodon into the ground with high speed to kill it instantly just because you are not able to consume meat without being attacked by the birds. I also have a solution for these birds: they should stay in game, but maybe they should fly around an eating player to attract other players or try to steal your meal if it's small enough.
I wish you all a good start in 2024, much health and all stats which you can't buy with money. 🙂
Greeting from Germany
Toni
PLEASE ADD FISH
managed to find a lot of schooling fish in the oasis lake highlands
We do be needing fish
Fish is most important recource of some animals, like Beipi, Herrera and Ptera, but also any craps and turtles missing since weeks.
schooling fish still isnt spawning... innocent beipis are dying because of this!
Says fixed to AI I don’t see a single fish anywhere don’t seem like they care much about the PT anyways:TI_ Succ: on official server no fish? Or unofficially? Most unofficial have AI shut off😏
On the QA server, I see fish as well as boars and other animals. I think it's good improvements! ^^
I'm seeing an abundance of boar, deer, and frogs on the QA server rn. no schooling fish so far, and i've flown from water access halfway down the delta. will be heading to migration zone to see if they moved there. maybe the beipeis and crocs ate em all! UPDATE: made it to migration zone. still plenty of other ai... but no fish
where did AI go 4 hours without seeing a single AI (starved to death)
cant find any AI
schooling fish does not respawn once its eaten after the restart. Please look into it once more.
I'd also welcome it if the beipi could eat other meat aswell just to survive.
Land ai should spawn near land carnivores, fish spawn near Herrera pteranodon and deino and ai doesn't spawn for herbs
Ai spawns should be inverted, Ai should spawn more when there are less players in a general area, currently with mass Ai spawning with more players in an area, it decreases player interaction, whilst also causing higher strain on the server I imagine. With current Ai spawns, players are forced into hotspot areas to simply survive, making much of the gorgeous map the devs spent so long constructing essentially a ghost town, it just feels counterintuitive at the moment.
I agree with the above, but for a 60-40 split. 60 being in nearby areas so people migrate and travel.
Schooling fish seem broken. I found none at the water access lake, or along the river. I flew to NE Plains which was next to the MG zone and there were a whole bunch.
I feasted and flew around but later could not find a single schooling fish in the NE area, even though it was the migration zone, or next to it at least.
Some places are overflowing with ai, some have none. I can find sea turtles on only one beach, near Rail Access. There is MANY sea turtles there, and then I can't find them anywhere else.
I can't find any ai around the field of Rail Access spawn point, other than sea turtles on the beach.
But south plains is overflowing with deer and pigs.
Would it be possible for some, even if less, ai to exist in other places too?
Oh also fish won't spawn except for when the server first restarts, for some reason.
I want to give some good feedback, these changes are a great step in a good direction. I have been able to survive for a few hours on only AI such as the boar and deer. It is honestly great. I have nothing else to say, these changes are a great leap foward.
Where are the schooling fish? I just wanna be a wittle penguin duck... D:
Schooling Fish at the moment do not seem to be spawning at all, which is very bad since beipi and ptera (which is already in a bad state currently almost entirely rely on fish to eat, and herrara needs fish too. Please fix this.
elite fish also missing next to schooling fish?
Yeh, there seems to be a severe lack of schooling fish/ elite fish. They only appear when server has restarted and then never again until next restart
A bit on the scavenging AI
okay pterodactylus AI is very cool but it spawns in wayyyy too fast (as do the compy's). It's rly bad for juvi's especially cause the moment u kill something ur swarmed by these AI that you have virtually no counter against. It's very funny as a ptera catching fish cause you have to land as fast as you can and swallow that thing asap or the ptero AI will demolish you.
I feel like they should spawn in after at least a few minutes (possibly longer depending on the size of the kill) and should definitely be swarming dead bodies that are left abandoned (but not always).
It'd be cool if they (and the compy's) would disperse when something bigger comes towards the kill, but the ptero might come back to be very annoying.
Not enough Prey AI. They seem to not be spawning. Most of the NA servers just solely have goats spawning everywhere.
(UPDATE) yea been waiting around several spawn points in NA2 for hours even reconnecting when server reset. Nothing is spawning but goats. any fix coming anyone know?
So from a landbased carnivore perspective this is my current experience after last patch.
Goats seem to be all over the place. Have found entire deer and boar families spawning next to each other in delta after reset. Could count 12 boar and 6 deer total. All in my line of sight. Did find some empty areas around central dome, I used to hang out there a lot. But as long as you keep on the move you can survive anywhere again. Sometimes the AI sound (calling sound) is bugged, they just don’t make a sound and you hear bushes rattling. So most of the time dinner gets served through hearing them. And they are definitely back in places where they disappeared recently!
Will continue to explore south west side of the map and see how AI is represented there. Delta / Highland / South plains / NE and E plains are good hunting so far!
Woods/Jungle areas seem to spawn less AI. Same goes thing for beaches, no turtles found here on my part.
Fish is bugged currently with broken spawns, even though it’s mentioned already by others I experience the same.
Big positive is that I can grow meat eaters without depending on finding other players and without having to resort purely to PvP deathmatch in the NE/E plains. And that makes exploring possible again which I personally appreciate a lot. So keep up the good work and looking forward to the next patch!
AI's only spawn after sever restart, once theyve been killed they dont respawn until next server restart...
Yeah fish seem to be a once off or have issues spawning regularly
Why do school fish give more hunger than a boar does to a deino
ok after the most recent update, 1800ish 1/10/2024 I'm not seeing much AI......
NO FISH , I repeat NO FISH.
Ye, no fish......some update. I will come back in a few weeks lol
Almost an hour in the latest patch: AI seems worse, more scarce. Saw two boars, No fish, no turtles, no crabs. I'm seriously thinking we're getting trolled at this point, patch after patch nothing works properly nowhere the community can meet the Devs in the middle and be like: Ok, yes the AI is fine right now, it's okay don't touch it anymore.
I seriously wonder what happened for the system to be unstable and broken since the content update before Christmas, this is getting ridiculous and tiresome.
i have been running around this area for the past 15 mins as a dilo and have not encountered any ai at all. A friend and i had both died as fully grown carnos prior to this, also searching for ai for about 15 minutes but no luck
Up at North East lake theres a bunch of boars and goats, however there are no fish/crabs/turtles anywhere. would have thought with all of the patches that the water AI would have been brought back considering they are a substantial part of many dino diets.
Even after the most recent patch-- schooling fish spawn once at restart (or after a crash, which i just observed on NA1) and then are a limited resource. Once they're gone, they're gone until the next time the server restarts. I do not know if this is intentional, but it is certainly frustrating. I spent most of my time in the river delta and swamp, and the beach nearby didn't spawn a single turtle or crab over the course of two hours. Frog spawns were consistent enough to feed a small family of pteras, but things did get pretty lean!
yes, fish just spawn in few mins after restart , then they r gone, and never back
the deers doing zuper zigzags are very anoying
chicken zigzaging like a pro plus the tall grass making it very difficult for new spawn dino to catch
Yeah them chicken and deer got mad jukes now 🤣
The AI spawner logic should be a lot more conservative and take more parameters into consideration before deciding wether or not to spawn some AIs in an AI zone. The current AI system rewards standing still in a populated area and AI will most likely spawn in large quantity around you basically handfeeding you and re-enforcing the "hotspot" effect.
Some parameters that should probably be taken into consideration are the following
+ Hunger percentage average of carnivores in said zone
+ Amount of corpses in said area
+ Amount of players in said area
+ Ratio of carnivores vs omnivores + herbivores in said area (Are there many potential preys?)
+ Amount of existing AIs in said area
There should be no reason to spawn AIs in an area littered with corpses and with players everywhere (NE in mind here...).
Also PLEASE allow community servers to customise easily the following properties
+ properties per AI type to allow to indiviudally disable them (not just teno AIs)
+ properties to allow to disable scavenger AIs
+ Property to increase or decrease AI rarity / density
there's still no wildlife in swamp region
I'm enjoying the ai spawns right now! I've been able to stay away from hotspots and survive in emptier parts of the map that caught my interest and explore more freely. I think I'd be confident in nesting as a carnivore in a non-hotspot area now, too.
I'm looking forward to AI dinos to be further developed for some challenge! I think people will always inherently gather at a certain 2-3 parts of the map when it comes to the isle, hotspotting feels like it's engrained in isle player's DNA at this point. This is the first time in a while though that I feel like the rest of the island is infact alive and I can explore wherever I like with my friends. Nice!
Seconding / Adding onto this. I think it might be a good idea if AI spawns responded to the amount of corpses in an area.
If there's already 20 corpses on the ground in either the Fresh or Rotting stage, then less/no AI spawn, simulating animals "staying away" from kill zones where predators are. Skeleton/bone stage does not affect AI spawns.
It could also be interesting if rotten corpses in the area might speed up other dead things that are fresh going bad (because rotten corpse = more fly reproduction), encouraging an actual need/desire for certain dinos (Deino and Cera) to not only be allowed, but encouraged by other species sharing the space to eat up/scavenge rotten carcasses for the "health" of the other species, creating an actual ecosystem effect.
So that, yeah, you could kill that fresh spawn deino or cera waddling up to the rotten corpses you can't eat anyway, but most of the time you'd be better off allowing the garbage disposals of nature to do their job, and in turn, once they clear out the current rotten corpses on the map, more AI will spawn and anything you kill will stay fresher longer, aiding your survival as any other carni species.
I think AI should have a higher probability of spawning on individual carnivores nearby, and increasing probability the hungrier it is.
In return, AI should almost not spawn at all where there are many players. Because they can hunt each other, that's the point of survival.
So the percent chance for AI spawns should decrease with each additional Carnivore in the area.
Herrera get nothing to eat... only boars spawn and they unkillable as fresh spawn. Please reroll on 19.12.23.
Fish and schooling fish spawning would be nice. 🥺
bring back taco and ava AI !😃
i mean its quite hard to grow as a croc without ai or anything really..
Please bring back fish, I haven't seen any for like 3 days and it's so hard to play a species that relies on it if there isn't any.
Still no fish?....laaame
Please make the AI not attack us while we eat, depending on which dino you are, this is annoying
idk, it's a fun challenge to be a tiny scavenger and trying to eat a boar while another one is trying to ram you with its tusks
I'm actually going to second this. It brings immersion, adds to the ecosystem, and adds unique angles for the environment.
Smaller players can hunt the psittacosaurus since they're smaller and slower. This prevents them risking it against a boar or losing a deer due to the speed of the AI. On the other hand, the avaceratops could provide a unique challenge for larger players who want an AI that fights back.
yea, it's unplayable rn. its SO hard to survive as a fresh spawned deino, but as soon ur a bit bigger u r literally dead. nothing to eat, nowhere
instead of adding AI dinos that r also playable like raptor and rex and carno (which is dumb for all sorts of reasons), instead add new large AI like bison, cattle, ect. They could have their own attacks and stuff to make them just as dangerous as an AI raptor or whatever else, and wont be as immersion breaking as coming across another player only to find out its just more broken AI
After playing around with the most up-to-date version of the AI spawning system I must say that I still prefer the approach of AI spawning in zones around the map, instead of having AI spawning in being mostly tied to where the most players are. However this type of spawning system needs to have some counter measures to ensure better stability and to avoid carnivores completely ignoring the migration system.
For starters, when you have AI spawn zones in multiple areas around the map, the AI should only start to spawn in once players enter these areas (this is in order to help alleviate entity lag from generating because a ton of AI in the corner of the map are constantly spawning in). Each zone should spawn in enough AI to feed a certain amount of predators (Ex: A zone is able to feed 10 Herrerasaurus but only 2-3 Adult Carnotaurus).
There should be a good handful of these zones scattered across the land biomes of the map and certain AI could have higher chances of spawning at different land biomes. For example goats could have a higher chance to spawn in areas around the highlands and grasslands.
If still alive, they will despawn and a timer will be set before they will respawn again- in order to discourage camping these areas, AI will still respawn but only at a rate where it'd keep a smaller number of carnivores alive. For example, if you let an AI zone stack up to, say, 10 boars- you would be capable of feeding something decent one time. After this however AI will respawn far too slowly for the big animal to stick around and not starve out forcing them to move on. This would reward players for exploring. To clarify, AI should also spawn in waves rather than all at once to lessen server strain.
I also believe that allowing small AI like crabs, frogs, chickens, schooling fish, and rabbits to spawn in ambiently as they did before the Herrera and Dilo update should make a return.
There are 0 AI spawning in the past 2 hours on NA3 Been several species in different parts of the map. Have seen no AI other than Boar and goats in East plains
I'm glad you increased ai, ofcourse there's still tons of issues, like mentioned above.^
Although one of my issues is fish. I spawned in as a Petra in four different servers. Na 1-4. I went down the majority of the maps rivers and occasionally lakes, in and out of my migration zone, I only found the jumping small fish twice. And starved all four times due to lack of fish, frogs, or anything small. Fix this please.
Fishing is very bad right now. There are almost no fish AI in the game because they don't respawn. With a server restart they are there but then nothing happens until the next restart. Please fix it. Otherwise the Petris will have a very difficult time 😅
Agreed, i thought i could grow a Herrerasaurus easily if it can catch and eat fish, however, ive had more luck finding players and boars than a single group of fish in both River and Swamp
Generally rabbits, chickens, crabs and frogs should give a lot more food than they do to juvis and subs maybe giving them 15% hunger compared to like 1%
Bring back tenno a.i
Fish are non non existent rn. Swam from southern most swamp to north eastern plains with deino and starved due to zero fish being around. Only saw other bigger deinos which were desperate to kill me cus they can’t get any other food.
Schooling fish are indeed not spawning anywhere, not in the major lakes or rivers, not in streams. Its been this way for several days now, impossible to find fish as a Ptera.
I can nest as a carnivore now. It is AWESOME.
Every one should just spawn herbivores and converse near a lake and migration areas. AI and the ecosystem is broken, we should break the rat race of trying to be carnivores and just hang out grazing.
Sometimes, the best way to win is not to play their game…turn it on its head and short-circuit the grind…veggies for everyone!
Finally I don't starf to dead because of lack of ai.
Best change ever 😁
Fish are still not respawning except on server reset.
I’m finding it almost impossible to find fish as Ptera and have had to resort to cannibalism and scavenging player carcasses. Please increase the spawn rates of fish back to pre dilo/ hererra update
We need fmishys and waterturbles back
Ik many people were complaining about the lack of ai and then people are now super happy about the change but after being at NE and having over 10 dead boar bodies that I couldn’t eat because of being full from so many before, toning the air down slightly may be a good idea but idk if the spawns are just so plentiful at NE and E idk about the rest of the map
Some areas AI do not spawn at all. Such as on the West side of the map.
Hello, Ok so I flew as a Ptera from Waterfront lake all the way down the river and into the swamp. On that route, I kid you not, there was NOT A SINGLE SCHOOL OF FISHES. I died of hunger ofc. Tried it on another server, new character and the same thing occured multiple times. Ptera and Beipi are unplayable until this problem is resolved.
No fish or turtle - EU3
I think what I want to say has already been stated, about AI only spawning in areas where there are few players and few corpses. Also, I really don't feel like AI should be spawning in groups of 3 or 4 right underneath players either, especially when said player is herbivore, but I assume that wasn't intentional?
Regarding dinosaur AI, I'm not a fan of it personally and I know some other people aren't either, as they spoon-fed carnivores too much. If you do insist on keeping dino AI, please restrict it to only small species like dryo, beipi and troodon and have it so they don't yield organs either if possible.
This game needs to stop being so quiet and boring all the time. AI could be the perfect solution for that. Imagine if there were a ton of AI animals almost anywhere, small to medium sized. Now, before you go mad at carnivores getting fed easily, listen to this. What if the total grow time was slowed. Maybe by a bit, maybe more. Now, turn up the growth increase from all diets. Now, make sure only few of those AI dinosaurs/animals are on playable carnivores diets.
End product should roughly be a beautifully populated world instead of boring emptiness, variation in AI animals therefore theres a lot to look at, especially for new players, HOWEVER, if you carelessly hunt down any random AI animal thats not on your diet and fill up your stomach, youre gonna be stuck with slow growth due to no nutrients, which would basically slow down growing for careless carnivores AND new players who dont inform themselves, which should somewhat balance the fact theres food for carnivores everywhere. Also, have some AI animals that simply arent on ANY carni's diet at all. Just to have a few more that you cant hunt, decrease the amount of AI that actually give nutrients.
(Also, who said AI couldnt be made to defend themselves so not anyone can just hunt them down with ease?)
EDIT: Please Devs, even if its only temporary until more content gets released. Increase AI spawns. Simply for the sake of breathing some life into the map. Or give owners of Servers an option to adjust the AI spawn. Just something.
Turtles seem extinct, haven’t seen a single one on gateway
it's been a week since the last update/"fix" and schooling fish and elite fish are still bugged to the point that they don't spawn unless after a server reset, and then appear to despawn very quickly. that and crabs and turtles on beaches are nonexistent.
the current ai spawning system creates hotspots in reliable spawn areas: east plains, northeast plains, south plains, highlands (lake only) and river delta. in fact there are usually so many spawns that you're stuck hearing ai everywhere. anywhere else on the map, nothing seems to spawn. i was able to hear a couple boar yesterday while in the jungle, but i usually don't find anything except the frogs that occasionally spawn out of my butt with a loud thump (please fix this).
ai was mostly fine before y'all dropped dilo and herrera and messed things up, i don't know why it's taking so long to fix. i understand you tried implementing a new spawning system but this is just not ideal. either revert back to how spawns were before or try to be more timely and focused with fixing the ai.
Its impossible to drop kill AI with herrera. Which makes it nearly impossible to kill literally anytthing with it. We live off of AI and baby dinos. We have to run the AI down, which beats the point of herrera. Pls add some way that we can stay hidden from AI in the trees. They see us coming from very far away
fix fish, pretanodon now unplayable!
Make a higher priority for intended spawn behavior of - Turtle, Crab, School of Fish, Elite Fish.
West rail access needs more AI spawns, that place is devoidant of life if you spawn there 9 times out of 10 you will die to starvation
There's still not any/very little fish spawning for ptera! I've tried to play and enjoy it since I got the game a couple weeks ago, but I have starved to death constantly
I keep my Ptera on a free grow server with „Server points to grow“ alive when i start to starving….
day 5302 asking to fix fish spawns
Pls great and holy Dev’s. I'm on vacation until Thursday and have many time for The Isle Evrima. please let me play my Ptera appropriately soon or make the fireflies edible or let the ptera get hungry more slowly.
Since when fish spawns in delta river?
Same for EU 4 as deino... Not a single fish
Fish AI is still broken, none are spawning.
^ It's not just fish either I am experiencing normal land AI issues.. never had this issue before with the Spiro map
Gone from water access to swamp not a single fish in a river please add some
im on my third life as ptera and havent found a single school of fish, starved twice and assuming im going to starve a third time
I've starved as a ptera about 5 times now, the devs really need to do something to make them playable
Could the AI school of fish be more popularized throughout rivers? Like at least 3 schools every mile or something?
Also, it would be cool if there were more smaller AI to help feed the Herrera, troodon, and future medium-small sized dinosaurs. Examples could be bugs, squirrels, rats, raccoons, and more fish. I find squirrels/chipmunks might be one of the best options. They’re very resilient mammals that take over human habitats. It would make sense for them to be in evrima in my view. Seeing as how Herreras are the only Dino’s that climb trees in for right now, squirrels are easy for them and pteranodons. It might make other places more livable so dinosaurs don’t have to rely on hot spots.
Please fix the fishes, the game is less fun wihthout them!
day 5304 asking to fix fish spawns
Are the frog croaking sounds and frog ai correalated to each other? like the calling of other Ai? Cuz i always hear frogs, but only very rarely find them, often they themself dont even croak
Apart from jumping on the "Please fix fish spawn" train, additionally i would also love to see AI spawn more frequently depending on server population. Sometimes you find yourself on your favourite server at an inconvenient time where a maximum of 3 players are currently on said server, making it almost impossible to hunt as a carnivore. Increased AI spawn the lower the server population (of course, not going to 0 if the server is full) would be really nice to have.
Rivers are so empty and devoid of life. I followed the water from water access all the way to the swamp and didn’t see a single school of fish. Very difficult to not starve with Petra.
Terrestrial ai should spawn primarily at migrations imo.
I refuse to leave a body-rich area to trek across the entire map to migration zones as a carnivore if I'm not given a decent guaruntee of finding ai on arrival. Those journeys are often worth your entire hunger bar in the time taken to get there.
I believe the reason we have such massive hotspots right now is because there's literally no reason to leave an area where you're getting food thrown at you left and right, to explore an area which may well not have anything.
day 9123 asking to fix fish.
make Ai spawn much more when you're hungry, bc right now it spawns some bullfrogs or chicken around you and what is that for a 700 kg dino? I really wanted to nest somewhere with my friend away from hotspots but i could not bc we would eventually starve to death.
at least add a fixed location where it spawn FISH while the devs working to find a solution
fish not there mhm
Funny how eager the devs were to fix the AI spawns but then halfway done they put it aside since fish spawns don't seem to be important enough 😦
Less AI spawn please, at least in the northwest. I’ve seen like ten deer in 20 minutes. Takes all the challenge out of being a carnivore
I have spent a dozen hours on the beach and have never seen a turtle or a crab
In addition to fixing the "fish-spawn" issue, would making ptera a scavenger be an option to help ptera not rely so heavily on fish in the first place?
WE JUST NEED FISH!!!!!
there was loads earlier, now there is none.....again, and i am now dying. Don't think devs actually tested it properly, yet said that it is fixed. It's not.
Found tons of boars but still no schooling fish for pteras
Was just on after server restart (NA4), and while underwater as a Deino i was surrounded by about 8 schools of fish. As soon as the fog spawned in, all the fish disappeared.
Could we make a change to Pterodactylus targeting. Currently it will go for the nearest small dinosaur around the body regardless of what killed it.
So for example a group of Carnos and Raptors are fighting and a raptor dies. The Pterodactylus will go after the Raptors and not the Carno that killed the Raptor as the raptor is the smallest thing. I have included a video demonstrating this concept.
The range is larger than shown on the video. On official servers I have seen this occur across a river.
Ideally I would want the Pterodactylusto target the dinosaur that killed the thing.
I enjoy that I can explore the map knowing ai will be around certain parts even if not very populated so I can survive. This is awesome!
A lot of suggestions are suggesting that ai only spawn around migration zones, but this will create the same exact issue that ai was supposed to stop by forcing people in areas they don't want to be, which is not realistic to the game nor fun, as migration zones can become as bad as northeast plains with too much of this "everyone should go there" mentality. It would also create a very VERY hostile environment for the lesser amount of herbivore players, last migration zone I was in had two carnos, eight dilos, five raptors, two adult deinos, and two other tenos in the east plains.
Ai spawning around the map is great, feels realistic, and allows for extended exploration. Cramming everything into migrations just ain't it, ask the herbivore players
I feel like the ptero behaviour is wrong either way. It should attack the nearest dino to the body and if the dinos are running away from the body it should go to the body and eat instead of hunting their target across the map. Aren't they supposed to be the scavenger cleaning it up or is their sole purpose to annoy players?
Schooling fish are back which is great for Pteranadon, but the AI pteros are insanely aggressive toward players when playing as a Pteranadon. If you grab a schooling fish you're swarmed by 4 or more pteradactylus and you literally cannot outrun them in the air even when sprint flying, and they follow you continuing to deal damage until you're dead or run out of stamina and crash.
Boar killed my Hard near fully grown Troodon just with touch him super soft 👌 Boars as more aggressive as Tenos and Pachys.
still no signs of elite or schooling fish
update: I take it back theres schooling fish now after 0.13.28.05 hotfix
AI such as goats and wild boars are visible and good, but many flowers can be seen far away in the forest, and I have to keep searching for fish until I only see one. I would like to add more grass, fish, etc. (It would be good to add goats, wild boars, etc same)
Another feedback on Pterodactylus spawning in exceptionally quick and being exceeding deadly to newly spawned players.
This was kinda fun/funny but yeah Ptero are a little wild right now. I am sure they are being worked on however so not too worried just wanted to share this lil dog fight ^^
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vl7zBDhyhE
Fish works fine ! Only Problem, i need now much more to fill Ptera belly.
I get like 1 % of Diet with Ptera when I eat a fish
idk if it's only me but im stuck in 3ish% hunger as ptera because fish barely do anything
Where the fish at? Like this is silly. Broken in fact... Every river and or lake and I cannot find any fish. Whats the point of playing croc. Seems that since the small patch there are 4000000000 schools of fish but so very little elite fish. Also Crocs should have everything on their diet..
scavenger AI should only attack up to a certain weight, and should also leave you alone if you leave the body
Changes to fish were horrible. Takes roughly 20-25 min of wall clinging and repeating to fill up stomach and get triple dot diet for a baby PT (which is more than half grown by the 25 min mark). Fish need to be more filling than what they've been reverted to. Croc was already only using schooling fish just to survive but at this point you've gutted fish's viability for Herra and PT as well. Please readjust fish proportions to something more generous. Especially with respect to PT, you've made playing this dino worse with every update.
The fish nerf was awful. Everything that actually needs fish (herra beipo ptera etc.) is getting finger licking amounts at adult. If deino eating fish is such an issue just idk, lock deino off from grabbing schooling fish past juv stage if its that big of a priority. It is not worth every other small playable being absolutely screwed by it.
Hehe, and they say AI is good now? Still the hotspot system, FIX THIS DEVS.
i feel like ai should be like in spiro, where they spawned around the same areas n players would have to move to find them but i dont think the spawns should rely on population bc hotspots form easy that way and it would leave most of the map empty like it is now on the west side
To add to the schooling fish issue, the food/diet should replenish quicker. It took me 30 minutes to barely get 2 and a half diets. Stam seems to be taking longer than usual as well.
Fish for Herrera is nearly useless and way to much risk for 1%, especially with the relativ high stam cost it is nearly useless and way to much risk with all the deinos. Please increase the value of diet and stomach filling by 3x-5x.
I have a nice but odd suggestion that would give a really nice vibe to the herbivorous side of the game.
Make the AI stick around big species of herbis. Similar to how zebras stay close to giraffes for protection. But in a way thats not so prominent as to make them annoying. It would make us feel more like we’re in a big herd
schooling fish and elite fish works fine in river area now.
but need to increase the spawn rate at swamp area specialy elite fish in swamp
i couldnt find any crabs, searched multiple coasts and lost countless dilos... NOT ONE!
Schooling fish need to have the nutrition they give increased. It doesnt need to be as much as it was, but it takes ten to fill one nutrient block for a fresh spawned Ptera.
Is it just me or do Official Servers have a lot more AI than community servers? Idk about you, been playing on a community server for the past 2 hours, didnt see any ai at all. Joined an Official Server, EU 2 to be exact about 10 minutes ago and ive ran into like 5 boars, 2 goats and 2 deer so far.
Giant croc gets more fill from his fish per size then a pt who has to eat his body weight to get a sliver of fill?
You guys have really nailed the AI generation now, only improvement I can see is to have turtles and crabs spawn in more areas because I still haven't seen any.
This small spotted fish will occasionally give Deino the dots hex when it isn't on Deino's diet. I don't feel it is unfitting, just strange its not on the diet list and getting the nutrients seems to be RNG
Idk if you can spot the second fish in the picture (i'll give you hint look at the sky)
give AI animations for broken legs, resting, eating, ect to bring more life to this game.
I would appreciate if boars (specifically) stayed away from nests. It is ridiculous to be nesting as small playables only to have them wander in and become aggro'd by us existing - especially when they seem to spawn in and "invade" as groups.
I've been forced to kill 10 boars while nesting as troodon recently, an activity made significantly more dangerous with pouncing being the way it is, boars being able to two-shot us, and, again, them being in groups of 4 or more. I would also rather not have to leave uneaten corpses all over the place in close proximity to my nest.
Small playables are already not very popular to begin with, and nesting in general is already quite risky for what little benefit it grants you. This avoidance should probably also cancel out when the boar is actively chasing a player, but the general premise stands.
I see zero Elite fish In the Lakes
Why does a fish (not elite) that's bigger then the majority of a baby petras/beipis body only give them like 15% hunger... Kinda insane? If you want fish to give less hunger at least downscale how big they are compared to the little dinos.
I dont get the Hogs ... sometimes they run away when you are a juv, other times they take you head on when being a grown adult 😅
is this intendet ... it feels like it would be the other way around
Compies are still getting stuck on the shore occasionally, but not as bad as before.
We need more turtles and crabs!
I was a ptera, and because fish no longer give you much food, and it's also risky trying to snatch it out of the water so it's not really worth it, I started to look for crabs in the many shores we have.. I saw NONE. Like, not a single one. I've tried it like 3-4 times now and every time I starve to death before finding a single crab or turtle..
I would love to nest with ptera but doesn't seem even playable at the moment..
The fish have disappeared again, why does this keep happening
Spent 20 minutes on the horde testing branch chasing a deer as a fresh Herrera only for it to despawn by the looks of things: I can no longer hear it even in the distance and my blood trail just stopped
Twice today on official servers, i kille a boar, then a goat, sat right next to it ( was waiting for food and diet drain to get the right nutrient) and it disappeared, and i mean within about 30-45 seconds of the kill, the first time i thought it was weird, but the second time it felt like it was a bug, idk -figured id say something
How?
Rain should spawn more frogs/fish, and maybe despawn a few deer/goat/boar.
AI distribution is still awful.
There are a few areas where there is a lot and a lot of areas where there is barely anything. Also filling up a new area with AI seems to have a significant delay to it. So searching naturally doesn't really work, because you literally can't find AI... instead it finds you if you are lucky enough.
Adding to the above.
There seems to be no actual incentive to search for AI as it takes a significant amount of time for AI to spawn. Instead, you're encouraged to gamify it by simply resting in a bush for a while, walking around for a bit and hoping you hear a sound or if you're tall enough, maybe see them.
This is also worsened by the fact that AI are omnipotent and will begin running from you well before you can even see them, thus forcing you to sprint in the direction you think the sound came from (difficult as you're spinning your camera trying to find them) only to overshoot or miss as the AI randomly decided to swap directions.
These two factors make hunting AI incredibly annoying, especially as a small dino. A way to solve the searching issue would be to implement a system similar to Minecraft where mobs generate when a player first enters an area after a server restarts. (in MC's case, mobs are saved, but here they aren't so you'd have to regenerate them after a restart or serialize them)
It is almost impossible to travel away from spawn locations as Carnivore, because no AI spawns on your way and the constant server wipes are extremely counterplaying the Ceratosaurus who can feast on any rotten carcass/bones
Increase ai spawns in jungles and overall the South side of the map please 🙋
consider adding ai bepi, dryo, hypsi. Since really no one play those playables.
Al should not be scared or even see herreras in trees, if the herrera is quiet.
Not sure if this is the right place but please add goat to Omni’s diet
pls increase the food value of schooling fish for beipi and ptera, it feels weird eating a fish 1/2 size of the dino and only getting like 5% food
AI is bugged after getting killed by a charge attack from Carno.
Solution for now; run away and the corpse spawns back when ur far enough, can eat it then.
After playing the horde test I saw a lot of good things. The one complaint I had tho is that no ai spawns on the far west side of the map. I starved to death as a fresh spawn because I couldn't find anything. I'm not entirely sure how the ai spawn works but if it's randomized then I'd recommend increasing the spawn rate on the west side when there's a player. Other than that tho, it's pretty good 👍
AI really shouldn't be able to pull 360s constantly, it doesn't even look like they are turning in a different direction when running from you, it just looks like his body teleports in that direction. It would be nice to see more realistic AI, if you want an example take WolfQuest Anniversary editions AI to consideration, how all the ungulate moves and works.
Hey everyone.
Please don't make AI spot herreras in trees from as far away. Its very hard to drop kill them because the start running from very far away
pls this little Pterodactylus is so annoying. I killed with a Troodon gang a full Omni ( has less life and less stam) was running away a bit when there came and there was following me super long until i died because no stam. Can there focus more on the death body pls then on players, when the player is not close to the body anymore? Would be great thx.
Would like to see Pterodactylus roost in nearby trees after the body they spawned in on disappears, and add them to Herra diet, give Herra's something to hunt in trees.
Hord testing: Fish don't spawn in any lakes/ponds that are not attached to streams/rivers. Which means anything that needs to eat fish as part of their diet is stuck just having to go along the rivers.......
Hord Testing: Need to adjust the spawn rates of crabs and turtles. assuming the spawn near players system is still active. in a low population server and waiting at the beach and flying around it, no turtles or crabs spawn.
I want resonate what people are saying about crabs and turtles on the beaches, but there is something else that NEEDS to be fixed: AI birds that kill a baby ptera (and other playables) in 2 attacks. That is by far the most ridiculous thing no one has thought about for 2 seconds (one more second and a reasonable person would see that this was badly balanced)
make compys take longer to eat the bodies they instantly start eating them even though the players are most likely away from the body regenerating stam or health after the fight. (i killed a full grown carno and it despawned in 30 seconds while i was healing)
Pterodactylus on troodons diet. We’re pretty good at killing them so is there a possibility we can have them on our diet?
Two Pterodactylus ate a whole boar in one minute, can this be tuned down a bit..?
bird nests in trees that herra/pteras can raid
AI spawning directly on or around players is anti-fun and anti-gameplay in general. And extremely weird.
They should never do that. I am not picking a carnivore to get free food delivery to my location.
I think the AI should spawn in a way that always rewards actively looking around and searching for them over just sitting in one spot.
It should in fact punish sitting in one spot, especially when there are lots of other carnivores around.
Make it so certain ai are essentially 'older' dinosaurs that haven't been in herds or packs in a long time due to age. With the thought of that in mind they couldn't keep up with their herd or pack.
(Explains why they can't attack effectively like players. Weaker in mind but more time to effectively kill ai. Make it more entertaining and satisfying to kill ai without making it into a buffet for carnivores.)
Make ai look like older versions of their respective species.
(This also adds a bit more immersion and realism. This would take time due to the elder system.)
Random stats for ai, some higher or lower health, attack speed, stamina. Nothing above base level stats unless for server events and such.
(Just like players we lose stam and health. We play with stat buffs and debuffs. This would take time.)
These were some ideas I had, but this could open up more possibilities.
Can I please, and I'm begging, Stop dumping frogs every 2 mins
ai spawns are insane rn in hordetesting. I am constantly surrounded by goats and pigs. I just killed a pigin north east plains and 5+ more pigs spawned and started running around in a pack. They ended up killing a baby cera! Please spread out spawn points much more and maybe reduce the number that spawn at once.
Anyone else feel like the ai changes have made the game worse?
With ai only spawning in areas around groups of players, it’s forcing the hotspots again that were the issue on the last map.
Plus, cera and troodon suffer as hatchlings without the ability to scavenge.
Can the ai go back to their usual “spawn areas”? I understand not wanting to give areas where there is no risk of interacting with other players, but now everyone is bottling up in 2 areas on the north side of the map.
Especially since Cera can’t even chase down ai when it spawns in, a lot of dilo and raptor players are dominating the servers where they just spawn kill.
Food isn’t prevalent enough in the form of herbivore players to sustain the ridiculous carnivore #s unless you’re already mid to sub adult.
If performance is an issue, spread out the various animal spawns, so boars and deer have different spawns around a migration zone, with some across the “empty” parts of the map.
Please give ai proper "eye sight" so you can actually ambush and hunt them like in legacy...
AI is a easy indicator of peoples presence. as a deino if i sail on into a area and the river has no fish jumping, the odds are (not garenteed) that no one is hanging around. the raidus on spawning them should be increased or something to prevent that being used as a tool
I found a turtle on the beach between South plains and West access! 😄 (edit: this was in the hordetest)
i think deers shouldn’t be this good at ankle-breaking
Sea turtles still nowhere to be found
boar feel a bit too persistent when agro. maybe a warning like a boar 3 call?
Not sure if this has been talked about, but perhaps adjust the AI's vision above them. As a Herrara, a deer shouldn't see me on a branch when I'm being quiet.
Look I love the idea of agressive boars but this is too much man
Allow Herras to receive the same nutritional benefits from large fish as they do schooling fish. This gives players even more of a reason to use their dive mechanic that they have for the more filling larger fish, while increasing danger from drowning and possible Deino encounters, giving the latter more predation opportunities as well.
Boars should count as carbohydrates (3 dots) for Deino
ai shouldnt be this hard to kill when yours baby, full pack of troods struggle to kill a boar because of the 180 turns and bad hitboxes
i just ran into a family of 7 boars. kinda ridiculous
well i am trying to hide from predators and boars spawn and kill me all the time, main cause of death: boars, so please can we tone this down a little, they are mentally insane...
AI feedback Part 1: Live Build 0.13.42.18
Compy AI: We love compy. Compy shows up and if we are large and intimidating it keeps it's distance waiting respectfully until we are done eating. Once out of sight they politely take their nibbles and carry on. If they are nibbling they will stop when we approach, if they haven't nibbled yet and you are large enough they will scatter. My feedback for them would be to have them scatter if a larger predator shows up to a corpse as they are feeding and wait just a slightly further distance out. Also sometimes they take their nibbles a bit far from the model of the corpse, this however is minor and understandable perhaps for collision.
Ptero AI: Still spawning in too quickly imo and are a pain overall. I think their general behavior can remain but have their spawn in times be increased. It does feel frustrating to finally make a kill on a small AI as a juvi dino and then have the ptero chase you off your kill, or in some cases kill you.
Boar AI: Airdropping in too frequently and too often and honestly their calls disturb the ambience. All too often a group of dinosaurs will be relaxing, nesting, etc and these guys just keep spawning in on the group disrupting the game play flow. When they are killed they are accompanied by the ptero issues mentioned above and the area just ends up being a tiny corpse graveyard which soon fills the ambience with buzzing flies killing the mood, especially when nesting/relaxing. Overall I think AI spawns are a bit over tuned. Not to mention the boars are primed to kill any and everything (even other AI) and have continuously zero in on your location with such malice.
The sound of AI dropping in really throws me off sometimes. It's annoying to be setting up an ambush and having a boar drop in near your location and constantly run to you giving you away.
Timestamped nesting ambience greatly disrupted by AI: https://youtu.be/aMjeSmF1gfY?si=POS57V5qE9WSkjko&t=208

This by far is the most annoying they can see you in a tree's or underwater as a deino its really annoying they have such a large detection range. You can't even crouch sneak deer or boar. Before you even know a boar has spawned it's charging you or running away from you.
AI feedback still the same. Go to migration zone. Or die a slow dead. Please let us play the map like we want. PLS
AI Feedback Part 2: Future Stuff!
Baby AI: Looking forward to seeing these. Hoping they will be slower than their adult counterparts and can be “broken off” from their pack and/or left behind to help out juvie carnivores. Currently it’s always easier to spawn in a “hotspot”, scavenge diets and then leave to grow. Hopefully baby AI can help change this. By adjusting the odds of diet being obtained elsewhere more efficiently, we also further help the address the issue of hotspots as a whole. In the current state if we eliminated spawns all together, a lot of juvie carnivores would simply die. This would open up new confidence to spawning elsewhere, thus helping contribute to a more diverse ecosystem accross the map with more random encounters.
Dedicated Aquatic Scav: Currently our local ptero are suiciding into the water after corpses which means they are not doing their job, only adding to the issue of more decomposing bodies. Compies somewhat get the job done, albeit look a little silly doing it. Perhaps it’s time for a new scav type?
Ocean AI: With the potential addition of ocean deino mutation and the coastal uplift as whole, may as well plop some oceanic fish in the water for them and other coastal situated dino’s to feed on.
A Note on Sanctuary AI: Originally I thought adding sanctuary AI (small things like rabbits, chickens etc) would be a good idea, but upon further thought realized that giving juvie carnivores a strong incentive to go there would only further push away herbivores. Not only that but we may end up with carni vs carni baby wars. So yes, probably best to keep AI out of sanctuaries for the time being!
Rabbits are more extinct than dinosaurs in this game
THE BOARS MAN
I can no longer even AFK as a stego because they charge headon
FR these things got a gang mentality.
And again, can AIs radar be a little less effective.
I know we’re way past vision. They got some electromagnetic quantum gravity displacement tech built into them.
And why are the chickens so agile? I’m aware that dino island chickens are more roided than KFC chickens but these things sidestep better than a dryo
Pterodactylus are pure torture and take away the joy of having successfully hunted something.
They come right after a few seconds and hit you automatically. and ther hard to hit with the small hit box
Man Sea Turtles and Crabs are way to rare to encounter on the shore lines this needs to be buffed as well as the nutrients they provide since they spawn so rarely they should give much bigger boost to the nutrient values. Deer, Boar and chickens detection range is way to wide and high. I've been spotted underwater and at the top of trees i mean that's a little to extreme!! Its easier ambushing a player than it is the AI. I would also like to see more grazing and idle animations for the AI alone and in herds like grooming, foraging, playing fighting etc.
Sea turtles and crabs are not really common at all. Of all the times I have been to the coast, I have only seen 1 sea turtle and like 5 crabs. I think a good suggestion would be to have freshwater turtles too, and make them quite common. Living in a place that is very swampy irl, I see freshwater turtles every single day and they would be a cool food source to have in the game.
I was a hypsi. I ran around for 45 minutes in the migration zone. There was no diet food anywhere. The zone seemed to be to the east outside the normal delta zone. lots of pigs though. thinking pigs were spawning instead of herb food? also wouldn't it be better if pigs and goats etc spawned outside migration zones. so like an out circle. if a carni is hunting players and can't find any at that time or something they can then find they spawn outside that area. i kinda feel a few active migration zones would be better than just one. herbis have to hang around same area for a very long time. I feel carni have more freedom. if herbis are free to move then chances of being ambushed would feel real rather then being in a bucket waiting to be shot.
Carnos 2 line diet is dryo and Gali. The amount of times I see dryos are super slim. We need ai to be added to the 2 line diet.
Fish AI should give you more energy when you're a baby - it can't be that a baby crocodile eats a whole elite fish and only has 1/4 of its stomach. Or a Beipi needs 35 small fish that are 1.5 times as big as itself
Those bird/PT ai are highly annoying but what would be nice is if they had the same hit detection as standard playable PT i.e if you jump up and into them, they should come crashing to the ground so you can kill them. Highly annoying to see them phase through you and still get a bite on you.
the bird ai's that spawn in as scavengers spawn in way to fast once they nearly killed me in the air as a fully grown petra with a fish in my mouth i caught 20 seconds beforehand
Dinosaur ai as hypsi, galli, and dryo maybe
So, I think the boar damage or speed or both should be nerfed I cannot count how many times I've spawned in as a cera and couldn't out run then and died in 3 hits
The animation for deer, and deer running especially is ridiculous, they are zooming in x5 speed. If you need inspiration for good looking/acting/animation wise ai, look at Wolf Quest Anniversary Edition.
The pterodactyl AI doesn't look like a creature with a desire to survive. The meaning of its life seems to be to disturb you and launch suicide attacks, even if you are an 8-ton behemoth.
plz fix ass bite on boar, or give it a kick
Please make the AI birds land a bit more frequently while attacking you, or maybe they occasionally fly low enough to bite. They can be horrible to deal with
give us tutels back 🐢 (or let more spawn pls)
please make AI bleed out faster, ive been chasing a deer for around 15 mins and it still hasnt dropped dead
Turtles? 🥹
What "bothers" me is the fact that there is an "either or" AI spawn. First I'll start with the positive feedback:
- A lot of AI spawns. Also close by - that's good for hungry little dinosaurs
However, I'm now coming to the "negative" feedback, although it's not that negative:
- AI spawns everywhere. Even when I sit quietly in a bush as Herbi, AI spawns around me
- The wild boars then attack me. Not great! If I sit quietly in a bush to hide, it gives away my position and depending on which dinosaur I'm playing or how small I am, it kills me instantly. It would be better if they defended themselves when you attacked them, but simply ignored a resting or passing dinosaur. For carnivores that are larger than wild boars, a "flight response" would be very nice - the hunt begins!
- It feels like there is either "always and everywhere AI" or "no AI". An in-between cannot be achieved. I'm not demanding that AI has to be found everywhere immediately, because there has to be a bit of "hunting". But huge "empty" areas without AI are stupid, while in other places it feels like half the AI of the entire map can be found. How about a healthy “mediocre” instead of always switching from one extreme to the other?
- If I play a herbivore, then two goats, five wild boars and three deer don't have to spawn in front of me or behind my back (as I write this a frog has come out of my butt and is now living with me)
My general feedback is actually: Don't make such an extreme change every time, but just keep an eye on something mediocre!
P.S: And revive the beaches. Where are the turtles and crabs?
pls remove those birds i can never play pternodon anymore and they are not fun😕
could someone please tell me what the HELL happened to the deer ai. i have never seen something that looks and moves so jank before in my life... it used to be very clean and smooth...
When I'm in the migration zone near the coast I would like to see more AI that are supposed to spawn at the coast. Everywhere i go I see Boar even when no other players are around. Even when Boar isn't on my diet i see boar
Boars are a bit to aggrassiv. We was hunting as Omnis and we had a Carno on the line to bleed out. But the Boars just spawn and spawn and attacking us wile the hunt. Can there dont attack full adult dinos maybe pls? Its anyoing alot to take care of 2 enemies at the same time.
can we finally have AI dinosaurs back?
I feel like there are waaay too many ai spawning in certain areas (plains for example) while other areas of the map are a complete deadzone (jungle). I'm a new player so I have a fresh perspective and most of the map outside of the hotspots feel very dead.
I feel like spreading out ai spawns (and maybe even herbi food spawns but that's not the topic we're on atm) could help populate those areas more; or at the very least not make them feel like it's dead.
goats, deer, chicken, and boars can supposedly spawn in all land biomes, but I've genuinely never seen any of the first three outside of plains.
I still feel like there is a little bit too much AI now, especially boar, …or at least access to AI, but I do like seeing them in small herds. I don’t like seeing it rain 4 boar out of a tree, but if it’s the closest we can’t to herds for now, I’ll take it. I just wish they were scattered about more organically instead of air dropped on top of me. They feel a bit too hand delivered…but still much preferred over the previous AI availability.
the fact that if youre spotted by a boar as a baby cera youre doomed is a bit rediculous, theyll spot you before you do and game over cant escape only way i die as a cera very frustrating
With the new pounce mechanic, u can't pounce front or back.
So troodon and omni life is difficult alone.
But now with the boar that looks at you 24/7 u cannot pounce it, as for troodon its death and for omni its just quite the health and blood loss.
And now the deer, deer is really fast to catch... u really have to be adult to catch a deer. and even with the anklebreaking its worse. troodons can barely do anything with that.
As troodons CANNOT get to deers side because the deer will just turn and break the ankles again.
Only thing to do as in now with omni and troodon just to bite deer to death. Omni is quite alright with it, but as said troodon is not.
So, to make it at least in some way better make these changes
-deer: less turning, decrease its speed by some.
-boar: make the boar not look at us 24/7 so we can have opening to pounce at least.
-Also making the boar not chasing you miles would be good.
On that, they should make boars fear adult herraras. Well, at least don't try to attack. This could be applied at 75% or above. Also, as a juvi and an adult what is the pounce damage?
ai only spawns in hotspots regularly, i liked the legacy ai system were if you were hungry ai would spawn, you should be able to survive of ai as a juvie werever you spawn
This post expands on a previous post of mine, which can be found here: #general-feedback message.
To sum up, there are currently issues with players being unable to find food when they are far from other players. From what I understand, this is due to AI only spawning near to players (I assume this is simply a radius around the player). When players clump up, this creates overlap of these AI-spawning radii, increasing the chance that AI will spawn in that area. When there is a major hotspot (cough East Plains cough), this means there is abundant AI around to eat, in addition to players. This is quite the opposite from real life, where too many predators will deplete the population of local prey. I have two solutions:
-
We could simply have AI spawn in areas where there are no players, encouraging players to spread out to find food. While this seems fine at first, I imagine the reason this isn't used is because this causes a much greater strain on server processing power - I'd wager the areas where there are no players are much larger than the areas where there are players, thus greatly increasing the total number of AI on the map.
-
Rather than increasing the chance of an AI spawn, players who are clustered in the same area will actually decrease the chance of AI to spawn. At face value this might seem simple, but there is a complication - this system would require AI spawning to account for partied-up players to count as one unit, or even increase the chance of AI spawns in order to feed everyone in the group. Also it might seem like this would hurt players who simply want to PVP, but those players can always eat each other.
These are just my thoughts, as a non-programmer. I honestly have no idea how difficult this might be to implement, but I thought I'd share these ideas just in case it helps
Boars are way too hostile, even to other AIs to be hunted as anything small these days, be it an early stage of growth or a small dino, it's almost always a certain death if you can't run fast and far enough and if it's 4 of them spawned next to you? Dead.
Crabs and turtles are still nowhere to be seen and fish spawn seems to work odd as sometimes it'll spawn plenty right away and sometimes nothing no matter how long you sit there.
Deer needs to be slowed down, almost nothing can chase it at early stages of growth and those are the ones that need AIs most as they may not be able to hunt or fight just yet.
Boars not so Hyper Aggressive!
Boars are no longer as blood thirsty, instead, their hostility will depend on the targeted creatures size
Boars flee or do not engage with creatures larger than themselves, however will defend themselves if the player gets too close
When confronting a creature of similar size, boars will become very vocal and trot around before attacking
Smaller creatures will cause boars to grunt shortly before charging in their direction if the player is not concealed by foliage or water
Introduce visual and sound cues for boars
Boars will smell the air when 'sensing' a creature to confront, then go to their direction
They may chose to scavenge scraps over attacking smaller creature, but do not tolerate sharing corpses
Boars will produce various vocalizations for their hostile or neutral phases
Larger male boars can be found alone or competing with other males. Females can be found with a small family of piglets or young boar
-Or... something along the lines of making boar not airdrop 5 feet from our faces would be great..
To make it a bit easier for newly spawned to hunt deer and goat, maybe introduce an exhaustion mechanic in the ai? Something where the amount of time a creature can run away is reduced over the course of the hunt, or just put a hard cap on it. nothing has that much energy!
Tone down the follow rate of the flying scavengers. It makes no sense that they follow you across an entire grassland just because you were near meat. They should stay on the meat not a live dino.
Additionally to this:
Would be nice if Boars dont 100% charge at you when u are a smaller dino but change between fleeing from u and defending themselves.
Troodons only strength is its venom, but to inject, you gotta pounce. You cant pounce the boar if it looks and charges at you permanently.
I had an easier time fighting 2 full grown ceras or a full grown carno than a silly boar.
Actually..i gave up on the boar because it 2-hits troodon and you cant really fight back without pounce.
Please reduce the radius at which boars start to hunt u. I thought its more supposed to be a back off move and not a Ill hunt u to death.
Also please remove the headlock for pounces on boars because how are troodons supposed to pounce them if the boars stare them down if they get close
Let us hunt the boars and not the other way around
Make deer spawn more frequently its so hard to get S tier
Please fix the Troodon attatching to boars. I just jump latch attacked a boar as a Troodon sub-adult, and it flung me through the map and killed me in the ocean under the map due to no O2. Fixing this bug would reduce players quitting this game.
How to find sea turtles...? is almost impossible, right?
AI keeps running into the water when i try and chase it, its the same speed as running
Make boars not charge violently towards obviously unhostile dinosaurs like herbivores. If I'm playing as a baby/juvenile galli, why does it feel the need to charge towards me and kill me? Does it not have better things to do, like scavenging for food?
Boar aggressiveness needs to be turned down a bit because it makes no sense why they Aggro to adult carnos and Omnis, and it’s annoying how you can be sitting in a bush and a random boar attacks you.
Any animals that come towards the water , while your stalking them from underwater some how manage to see you LOL , cant even stalk prey cause AI seee you under water
Several people have already said above: Turn down boar aggression. By now I’ve lost more new spawns and juvies to boars being permanently aggro than to other actual players
Boars are way too bloody aggressive
MORE FOOD FOR PTERAS!
ai shouldnt spot herreras on trees.
when I'm eating as a baby troodon the ai birds always kill me or fight me off the food, please do something
Please make the ai birds quieter lol
Boar rotation towards the closest enemy is too fast. A troodon could be taking agro from the boar walking away from it to leave the boars sides exposed for their packmates to pounce, then when those troodons on the sides attempt to pounce, the boar will near instantly change agro to the closest troodon and rotate to attack the troodon that is in the air mid pounce. The pounce doesn't land and the troodon gets attacked instead. Boars need a slower rotation speed and a field of view agro. I don't mind their damage, just their unnatural awareness of their surroundings and rotation.
as much as i like to troll people with boars, it's way too crazy, they see you from 50m away and immediately start trying to kill you, ruins ambushes, ruins hiding, ruins your health
Make Hypsi and Dryo AI asap. They should have been only ai dinos like compy, they just take up space from server, if ever anyone chooses to play them.
-AI should be allowed to occasionally also patrol and stand still around tree clusters for juvenile Herrera's or even starving adults to feed on. They're not meant for chasing. They're meant for dropping. The only other alternative I can think of for this is to give baby Herrera's better speed that decreases as time goes to adapt to tree life. Or have there be ai lizards (chameleon?) / Squirrels that cling to trees for us to chase around the cluster, bite, auto grab, and eat so we don't starve.
—AI boar should be much sparser in their spawns unless there's a congregation of dinosaurs. They one shot most juveniles and as a baby carnivore you either have to hope you can run away or take immediate death while trying to hunt for your first kill OR head to the sanctuary.
Edit cuz I sent early, but Also!! Please!! Let us track ai footprint or smell them!!
It would be nice to travel around the map to different biomes and find different ai to each one for your diet, than just have everything spawn next to the hotspots cause of the massive amount of players there. This would not only make the game more fun, it would be a reason to actually travel between areas more often and it would fight the creation of 1-2 big hotspots that currently infest each update
It feels like the boar turns around a bit too fast. With how it locks onto you in a solo fight, its almost impossible to get a second pounce on the animal. Even as a full adult troo I was almost killed since I couldn't actually improve the venom stage, I was just getting the small bites from the failed pounces. If it was just a bit slower at turning and I risked taking a tusk to the face, I feel like I could get a second pounce off.
it would be nice if AI don't ran away of herera's while they are in trees
itd be nice if ai spawned like it says in game
boars are a troodons arch enemy right now, can we get that looked at? or maybe change the ai that gives us that diet, its literally more dangerous to attack a boar then a full grown carno
me being a grown omniraptor getting jumped by 4 boars lmfao
Eating Boars i get Fatal error game crash, happened multiple times.
can boars relax just a little bit? and maybe not spawn right on top of us? Ok for adults, but very hard for tiny babies. Think of the babies. T_T Can we also nerf their swim speed? They are like faster than deino its crazy!
And the deer seem like they are on crack or something. hecking fast and jukes all the time. so hard to run down and hit. please and thanks
It would be cool if instead of trying to add AI dinosaurs that have pathing and behaviors and stuff, do it with bigger variants of animals. For example: add in a water buffalo that packs up, walks around, fights if attacked, and gives organs if killed. Could have a whole series of ai mammals, that way you can easily tell if something is an ai and not a player, something that was tough with ai tenos.
DELETE THE BIRDS PLEASE (LITERALLY UNKILLABLE UNLESS YOU ARE TALL ENOUGH OR THEY LAND ITS SO DUMB FOR ALL U OF PUTTING X YOU ARE DEAD SLOW
Make the boars' AI weaker
Deer run in a straight line and dont ZIG ZAG every 2 seconds when you are about to bite them
Stop making AI path into water.
Remove the scavenger pteras, they’re a horrible addition to the game
Spawn in dead ai? preferrably deer ai or something, its impossible to hunt ais unless ur a fast carnivore baby
boars ganging up in groups of 5-10 and destroying every juvie or adult they see
love it
Scavengers finish a body way to fast, entire boar gone within seconds from 2 dactylus and compys
Make it so pigs dont auto lock on your character, defeats the purpose of pouncing as smaller raptors and troodons (because you can never face the side, and you cannot pounce from the front or back.)
Make it so pigs cannot hit you from their butts, this has been an issue long enough.
Also I dont know if this is intended but I constantly see pigs chasing other ais? 🥹
Also Ive never seen a turtle in this map, have they been voided, taken away?
Lastly, deer's zig zag like professional basketball players juking their arch enemys, real life deers dont do this.
increase bird hurtbox, we have no upwards attack and jumping to catch them causes too much stam, either that or just make then fly lower, they shouldnt be pecking me 3 feet above my dinosaur...
Bring back Teno AI.
Since Gateway is out i only saw one Turtle. Please let them be more common, same with the Crab. They are just wayyy to rare.
Would it be possible to ever so slightly buff AI spawn rate in in the far west fresh water area's? (lazy lake and hillside pond) I like wandering around the map but i can't ever sit up there for nesting or group stuff to long because i have to travel to highlands/south plains just to see some AI.
I never see rabbits, please make them more common for it makes getting started on growing so much easier
Have groups of ai like boars but for the others like turtles, rabbits, frogs, and goats. I rarely see a "herd" of goats and never do i see a jumble of the other ai. Might help smaller dinos with those on their preferred food actually gain that Hexagon instead of slowly picking at it on the off chance they discover the ai and might also help tiny carnivores from starving to death because theyre either bullied off carcasses or a boar decided to get agressive on something the height of it's knee
Swim speed for AI? Could be tuned
make ai birds rare
Please make the boar AI less aggresive or at least not able to auto spot you. Super annoying when hiding from something and you get nuked by 3 boars. Also add some bigger AI, hard to survive with larger dinos when player count is low.
Personally, I find there is not enough ai spawning to keep up with the low players count late at night. Like yes I know go kill people....brother theres like 19 players on NA 4 at like 2am how am i supposed to live off goats as a full grown cera if theyres only like 3 in 50 meter radius around me. Yes i could join a more full server but im not tryna hop on a completely different server and grow something for 40+ minutes whens its already 2am. Like im sorry i got work all day leaving me only after 12am est to play. I know theyre are many different solutions to my problems, but my point is I cant live off goats as a bigger carnivore when theyre like 20 players at most on late at night
Hm i often died because the hatchlings are not so fast to hunt after an AI, also are to less players online late at night, so i could eat from theit hunted meat. Deers should get slowed down if hatchlings are hunting, how biger the dino is, so faster it can be.. but as hatchling you have to get help from other dinos. BUT in that game are kind player rarity
I think the AI is perfectly fine. Sure I have lost many dinos to the Boar. Sure I have lost many dino to the stupid AI birds. But if there is no challenge to survive and play smarter then what's the point? You can hear the Boar from so far away and you should know by now if you stay by a corpse the birds will attack you. Adapt and overcome. I would much rather play in this state we are in with AI then go back to starving all the time like it was on Spiro.
Click X if a boar is too difficult a challenge for you.
birds r mentally insane, i would suggest to make them run away from any sub adult and higher as they right now just use their air invincibility (we all know you can't kill them while they're flying) to just megabonkers anyone who dares get close to the food they killed
They exist !
in a good spot but they are able to spawn on u ( slows u down)
deers ankle-breaking skills need to be nerfed. speed is fine, its just their unrealistic juking that needs to be fixed. I tried to pounce one as a herrera and right when i was about to hit it, it basically teleported a few lengths away from me.
pter ai dmg and range need to be nerfed it can easily instant kill some adult small size dinos
Add frog to troodons diet 🐸
AI seem to spawn more frequently in areas where there are lots of players nearby (either as a deliberate mechanism or as a result of a fixed spawn chance and a greater number of players). Supposing there are a limited number of AI "slots" on a server (for performance reasons), I think that the current way AI spawn both damages server performance and contributes to the player hotspot issue.
Instead, there should be a much higher chance to spawn a single AI near a single player with less likely chance to spawn additional AI, and a much lower chance to spawn any AI near a large number of players. This would improve solo play, encourage players to avoid hotspots if their intention is not to kill/hunt other players.
seriously boars are so damn annoying not even in real life they're as crazy as they are, it doesn't make sense for them to kos even a hatchling they should not attack unless you attack them first oh my lord im tryna grow one of em just pops up and kills me im healing after a fight, i get to yellow and one of them just decides to put me on red again im watching the amazing graphics and one of them has to ruin it by attacking me im tryna ambush and one of them ruins it by attacking me, they're so frickin annoying, unlike the birds they do damage and they're driving everyone insane, please just make them chill until you attack them
Theres no AI in forests, please add more AI
Scavenger bird/petro's are breaking sound for players. My entire group often suffers extremely bad audio glitches after they arrive (especially in populated areas.) And often need a full restart to fix. This is a actual bug that has been prevalent for a while. It causes audio to be in the wrong direction, often loud and confusing. A huge handicap when sound is so important in this game.
In general, in regards to the scavenger Petro's. They also seem to spawn way too fast after a kill (which is extremely unfair to smaller/fresher spawns who worked hard to take down food. And often are instantly punished when extremely injured and hungry after the encounter.) Players often need to sit immediately to recover and not bleed out from a fight. And its extremely punishing to be rewarded for that success by being chased to death by tiny, over powered AI.
Some suggested ideas for fixes =
- Add a much longer timer to them, perhaps having them come a few minutes before food goes bad instead.
- Reduce the damage of these creatures down dramatically if they must appear immediately
- Have them target new healthier players who approach to counter, not the person who took down the carcass. (Only within a very small radius of the food.)
- Make their hit box a lot larger, so you can dispatch of them faster
- Dramatically reduce the time they follow a player. They should only really defend a small radius of the carcass if their spawn time, hit box, or damage will not be reduced. This atleast gives the player a chance to recover before taking them on.
Bro the boars need a smaller agro range and they mega ferocious dude. They too strong too they easily kill any small creature especially since they travel in armies of 4. I’ve been chased by legion of 4-5 pigs running at me as fast as they could no mater what I was
spawned in twice as a cera got killed by boars within 5 minutes of both of them
Similar to the school of fish in the rivers and deep water, you could add stationary frogs that have a set animation so the server performance won't tank, but the swamps and mud holes could have actual food (Usually smaller animals have a better time in swamps, this is true for most animals like snakes and caiman)
if boars are actually aggro to prevent AFK growing, that failed really badly, they murder everything and ceras for example can't fight back, it's funny as hell but it also sucks to be the one who dies lol, to afk grow you only need to fill up your diet, food and water in east plains, go to the jungle where the migration usually is, find a good bush to hide in (there's at least 10 reliable bushes) and wait there watching videos/reading/working. since boars don't even spawn there (you're too far away from anyone) and nobody goes there since it's literally a mountain, you're actually way safer than anywhere else from everything, including the ones that supposedly are aggro to prevent you from doing that! i've been doing that since the new growth times arrived and not a single time have i been disturbed by boars, the ones that jumpscare me are deer which i only begin to hear when they are directly above me or bloodthirsty pachies that search the entire jungle just to find an innocent person to murder (it's actually only happened once to me out of like 50 times) so yeah if y'all really wanna prevent it keep working on the ways to make juvie more fun, just keep it going, no reason to get too ahead of yourselves. if the ways you're working on are actually great, very little people will afk grow. but right now, the reason i and many others afk grow is, first, to avoid the carnos that go in to murdur absolutely everything and team up with herreras so that there is no escape, and, second, because it's not worth it spending practically double the time to grow a fragile thing
to sum this up, boars practically don't affect afk growers and instead only bother innocent people while the afk growers just do it without anything impeding it, so it's better to make boars be chill once again and keep working on your ideas to make juvie more fun
Turtles is still too hard to find. Please fix it
A.i
Currently, A.i are in a much better spot than they once were, but there are a few tweaks that i'd consider in the near future.
Problem 1:
A.i currently congregate around established player hotspots, due to them only spawning around hungry players. This reinforces hotspots, when we want people across the map.
Solution to Problem 1:
A.i "Regions" That aim to individually maintain a certain a.i count. with different species in different areas.
Said region placement could be semi random, Within a general area but unpredictable to encourage actual hunting.
Problem 2:
A.i currently consist of things that give essentially no food to larger carnivores. Ceratosaurs currently cannot sustain themselves off of A.i, As they give basically no food to adults.
As larger and larger carnivores are released, this problem will only become worse. While you may make an argument for hunting players, there aren't always viable targets to hunt.
Especially for the average, non mixpack player.
Solution to Problem 2:
Larger A.i. Said a.i would be high on food but low on diet, If on the diet at all. Aimed as an "anti starve" mechanic. You should not be able to maintain diets off of these larger animals, but you should be able to keep yourself from starving long enough to find proper diets.
I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but boar keep spawning on top of me when im resting. its happened twice in 20 min, killing my galli. i cant tell if on purpose or not but if it is pls change.
Nerf the deer's speedhack plz
I think the method of NPC spawning should be reverted. Spoonfeeding is bad, and carnivore players should be encouraged to explore and find prey NPCs on their own.
Nerf boars
Boars should not attack full grown herreras imo
boars should not see you in bushes unless they touch u
The AI birds are so loud for no reason, please fix.
Sometimes AI make absolutely no noise whatsoever for seemingly no reason at all.
Make pteras less aggro they are scavegers makes not a single bit of sense for a tiny ptera to try and solo a full grown carno or something it just doesnt make sense and make ai easier for babys to get specifically boars and make deers stop going one way then take a 180 and repeat 40 times before you can hit it once. I literally have a strategy to kill deer as a baby if you want that @ me in discussion
the beipi's can't eat anything besides small fish, they cant even eat big fish! please make it so that beipi can eat all fish!!
Adding onto this, they're also sometimes too loud, specifically in the case of boars. Sometimes I'll be playing Hypsi or Dryo, and will hear tons of aggressive boar sounds that sound close, even if there's no boars in sight. Maybe the sound travels too far, or maybe it's a bug or something else.
MORE AI IN THE GAME PLEASE
The game becomes very boring after a while, as it becomes "a simulator of wandering through a forest as a hungry dinosaur". Seriously, finding AI in the game is very complicated, being something that should be, at the very least, moderately easy to find. Playing as a carnivore in this game is very, VERY tricky, as you either walk half the map to find something to eat or walk 30 to find a player. It is not asked that for every 20 meters you find AI, obviously not, otherwise our PCs would self-destruct, only a slight increase of AI in the game is requested, especially on almost empty servers. This way the task of foraging for food could be easier, and the experience of the game would be more bearable
the scavanger birds are a ptras wors nightmare they 1/2 hit baby to medium sized ptras
Make all carnivores have boar, deer, and goat in their diet (except for PT). This would really make the game a little more easier. Also maybe add a little more deer spawning, because I'm finding a lot more goat than deer, and the two confuse me lol.
please do something about deers ive been chasing one as an omni for over 10 mins cuz these things are insane ankle breakers
nerf boars, If they see you at 100 meters they will just follow you intil you die, its really hard to escape from them if you just started
goats should be on omnis diet
Either nerf boar speed (so slower/younger dinos can actually escape them) or have them on an aggro timer, so that if you manage to evade them for X amount of time, they lose interest. Dying by AI is super lame.
When Rex comes around, y'all should add prehistoric Elephants, Rhinos, and Hippos to the game so the Rex's actually have easy ai meals. Also make the these ai have different stages of growth (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) making some easy to kill, and others harder to kill.
I've noticed AI creatures react to you as a Deino when you approach the shore while submerged. Can this be fixed?
Boars shouldn't charge you, unless they feel threatened, for example if you are running nearby.
Also Boars Chasing Herbivores doesn't really make much sense to me.
Unpopular opinion:
I like having deer that can dodge because it helps me practice for when it comes to chasing down players, even as a big apex species.
However. What I can agree upon is that the deer shouldn't really do a ninety-degree turn in a fraction of a second. Again, I'm all for them zig-zagging for practice, but is there any way to make the movements more natural so the species that can't do tight turns are still able to get dinner while getting their practice in too? It'd be good to have a happy medium.
Boars shouldn't be aggressive to everything but it should be aggressive to something within Reason, like Omni, Dilo, or Pachy but they should be passive to smaller dinos unless provoked like most juvies, Troodon, Hypsi, and Dryo
Rework all AI movement, its sloppy and choppy. Needs way better improvement, I don't see why it's this terrible. They also need a stamina or run limit, because out running a juvi with a juvi's small stamina consumption is insane. I shouldn't be zero stamina as a carno and still not catch a deer. Dodging is fine, but the unlimited stamina is too much.
can we make boars be more vulnerable at night? They have very poor nightvision and shouldnt be able to see anything that well, especially a baby troodon
Maybe turn animations for ai? Instead of glitchy teleporty ankle breaking powers
nerf deer 90 degree turns
AI react to Deinosuchus while submerged, this is a pretty big problem for Deinosuchus
AI should't react to Herbivores as they are no danger to them.. Also they should not react if Carnivore is sneaking to them using CTRL..
The diversity in the AI models in the horde-testing branch feel really refreshing paired with some of the newer animations and sounds. The deer feel better to hunt and don't seem to be running at break-neck speeds. Being able to pounce AI from behind is also very nice; I'm very pleased with the AI right now, thank you!
The Deer AI are dying on their own! I've seen a few drop dead while struggling to path and am finding corpses of them all around. Especially the southern jungle migration located just east of Delta.
please remove the ultra instinct goats/deers etc, whenever im under water and try grab one they somehow sense me under the water and just tp away
Increase deer spawn, it makes no sense why it should be boars/goats 95% of the time
Small AI suggestion
For smaller AI animals their spawn rates should be sizably increased, especially in places where it would make sense to find them.
Example: Bullfrogs - In my entire time playing I have encountered about 4-5 of them, and that is with me playing almost exclusively deinosuchus, herrerasaurus and beipiaosaurus. All three of my main choices hang around the water (Or in it) but I have noticed a surprisingly lack of the small critters. This was especially true around the south eastern swamp where I ran into a total of 0 bullfrogs. You'd expect that, out of all of the spots in the map, it would have an abundance of them.
Same goes with sea turtles as I have only ever found 2 when roaming the coasts making any coastal trips redundant and worthless as I expend more diet + water trying to find them for diet pips than I do with anything else.
In contrast, Boars seem to be spawning in hordes now (On NA7 and NA2 I have run into numerous instances where there were 3-6 boars in one location, and they are extremely, extremely plentiful), same with deer to some extent (Near the swamp).
In my opinion the AI spawn rates should be something like Small (Bullfrog, Rabbit? [unsure if real or if the wiki lies, never seen one in game]) > Medium (Seaturtle, Elite Fish, Goats, Chicken) > Large (Boar, Deer)
spawn rate for certain ai needs to be fixed and food needs to upped in some of them, frogs and crabs give literally nothing to herrera so theyre completely useless meanwhile fish that were similar in size gave more food, chickens and rabbits dont even exsist. now on the testing branch, deers are only spawning in swamp and goats only in east spawn for some reason as for boars, they are no where in sight.
I second this but on FISH ai, just saw them die randomly ONE by ONE on horde testing
they start wiggling first spiraling out of control and than die not always able to be eaten.
also very little fish ai for crocs ( possibly due this issue )
Give larger mammal ai organs
More AI in non-hotspots
I can't find fish in lakes whenever I first go to one, and seemingly have to wait for them to spawn--even when I go to the migration zone and the same migration zone has been set long enough that there should definitely be fish in the lakes. 😦 (This is on hordetesting)
A Solution To Hotspots? 👉👈
Perhaps putting the majority of AI spawns in migration zones would force smaller carnivore players out of east plains and the lack of smaller carnivores would eventually force bigger carnivores to migrate as well?
put deer back in herreras diet, hypsi, chicken dont exsist and bullfrog is extremely rare and omniraptor isnt something small herreras can kill but the only option.
not balanced. or just make chickens more common. bullfrog only gives 7% at 80% growth making it useless
big lack of rabbits, and coastal AI
if you wanna get rid of hot spot you gotta change up the ai spawning bc east plains is the only place i can find food to get diets quick enough as a carnivore everything and everywhere else seems quite barren
Please bring back turtles
(hordetesting branch) The river leading south from the Dam Lake has approximately no fish whatsoever, which is a shame cause it'd be an awesome place for beipi nesting, if the incentive for it is ever revived.
And foraging for beipi doesn't seem to be working currently? I've tried in multiple places down the river and didn't get a foraging indicator anywhere.
On that note, it couldn't hurt to give Beipi the ability to forage frogs on the riverbank like galli does.
Not sure if it has been mentioned... but the ai running distance is a bit much... and a few times it just runs into the water where a deino is and im sht out of luck. Could the distance it runs be limited?
Horde test Feedback. Ai distribution is still concentrated in the following areas. East plains, Delta, Highlands, Forest between East Plains & Delta, Swamp, and South Plains. Trying to stay anywhere else, even in a migration zone not within the listed regions (example: NE Mountain migration), as a mid to large sized carnivore will result in starvation if there are no huntable players.
The areas around the volcano and it's jungle seem void of AI.
Swamp should be one of those areas that has more turtles, frogs and rabbits but it's a barren area and only once in a while do you see a boar or a deer.
there is an overpopulation of deer and there is not enough boar. The central river area is literally a sea of dead deer from folks trying to get boar to spawn in their place on hordetest. Please also move away from the ai spawning around the player idea, the ai should be generated in different biomes automatically. They should have designated zones that spawn x amount in a fixed area, and only respawn once it drops below the limit on a timer. Like 1 every 5-10 minutes until 5 are hit, etc. Currently everything feels barren, like nothing lives there, especially the coast lines which are drastically under utilized.
Lower the body decay/removal time for AI bodies
Suggestion:
Lower the timer that removes AI bodies (Or decays them) to around 5 minutes or less if there are more bodies in the nearby area.
Reasoning:
As it currently stands all of the big, main official servers are laggy messes due to there being an over abundance of corpses littering the ground. This becomes especially true around some of the more highly populated areas. While it sucks for scavengers, it is better for overall player experiences.
If it is possible to just drop it down when a certain number of bodies are detected in a radius around it, it may work the best. But that is just a suggestion is all. Maybe something like "if x corpses in x area/radius, reduce decay/removal time to X"
Make boars less aggressive to smaller creatures (<20kg)
Seconded. I desperately miss when I could drop a carnivore anywhere and just grow and explore. The whole island felt so much more alive. Now spawning on the outskirts leads to death by starvation unless you get lucky, and if you drop into a busier area there's a dozen or so corpses on the breeze at any given time. I miss taking a carno out for a walk and sitting down overlooking the ocean to watch the sunset. But that might just be me.
I've been traveling as a herera through the eastern plains, northern plains, water acces, highlands and the south plains today and only found a couple of ai in the east plains and south plains. Where are the ai in the rest of the map, except fish? Please, spread more equally. (this was in hordetesting btw)
AI on Hordetest isnt moveing at all as far as i saw them. (straight after the update on 20.04. at 1 am CET )
found a goat and a whole deer family just standing around.
I have seen almost no AI since this mornings update
Was just in the swamp east on Gateway Evrima, and got swarmed by 4 boars at once. I get 1 or 2 but 4 felt a bit excessive. Might just be having bad luck but seemed a bit much.
add carnivore ai cera,velociraptors,sarchosuch
Have AI ( Fish Deer Boars ect) spawn when entering a new area instead of a massive delay
please optimize ai spawn, rn i'm force to safelog
No AI > airdrop AI.
It's a lot more fun when carnivores actually have to search for food and hunt.
Now it would be awesome if I could also find AI, but I take AI that isn't there over AI that drops in near players.
My proposition for the AI conundrum:
Big AI like deer, boar, and goat (and possibly sea turtle) only spawn in migration zones like herb food does. Spawn a lot of them... Big herds with babies in tow.
It would be ideal if baby variants could actually spawn FROM adults if there are at least 2 left alive to repopulate slowly, but otherwise when they're dead they don't respawn until mz change.
Small AI should be all over the place but there needs to be a buffer radius around players so they don't spawn ON you.
Frogs and fish need to be all over shorelines. Crabs along the sand. The upcoming rat AI around human structures and sanctuaries, same for chickens. Rabbits in open plains.
This encourages both more herbivore play for people who want a more lax growth experience like what we have with AI off, AND more competition between carnivores instead of big packs forming constantly.
Make big carnivores have dynamic diets like herbs do. All of them would have small AI on their diets at first, with securing baby big AI acting like sanc mushrooms do. As they get bigger they lose the small AI on their diets. Small carnivores like troo, herrera, ptera, etc that are more specialized would not grow out of their small game diet.
If all the big AI is eaten in the mz, people have to turn to hunting one another or the herb players. The abundant small AI would be the carnivore version of herb grazing, staving off starvation but being empty calories.
This also promotes a more natural ecosystem as people might gravitate more toward small carnivores, as while you COULD theoretically keep a cera alive on small dietless prey, a group would be impossible to feed on tiny AI alone.
Do not spawn AI mostly or even exclusively in migration zones.
That really conflicts with actual hunting.
Basically you artificially subsidise carnivores exactly in those areas where they are supposed to hunt other players.
Which means instead of going to the migration zones to hunt herbivores you go there to snack free AI, pile up and then gangbang any herbivore that shows up.
**My Experience Playing Hordetest Over The Weekend With No AI **
Overall my experience over the weekend with no AI wasn’t as hindered as I first thought it would be. As a herbivore (Dryo, Teno) my gameplay loop was basically untouched, however I did see many more other herbivores which is always a net positive as well as more population distribution (also in part to changed spawn points). Overall I am neither for or against removing AI. I see the benefits and detriments to both and am content with either direction. Regardless, here is some feedback!
Performance: Great. A lot of people shared this sentiment. I play capped 60 FPS so it was pretty steady there, but I get pretty decently steady 60 fps when AI is in though as well. My pc fans were overall less taxed.
-The time I played on Troodon/Omni was very enjoyable as long as I was able to successfully scavenge while I was small.
-If limiting/reducing AI is to be considered after this test, make sure to keep smaller AI (schooling fish, crabs, rats, etc) for smaller tier dinosaurs and juvies. Consider Ptera strongly.
-Increase the overall amount of hunger when spawning in to give more grace time to find or make that first kill.
-Larger AI can perhaps have static areas and/or be greatly reduced/determined by population. I kinda miss going to goat hill for goats.
-Still keep scav AI in, especially Compy. Compy is life.
**My Experience Playing Hordetest With Limited AI **
Dino Played: Herrera
NA (Population 70-100)-Spawned East after the server wipe (April 22) and right away was easily able to find some schooling fish to start my diet off. The rest of my nutrients came from scavenging juvie bodies that had also spawned South and died to other dinosaurs. From there I made my way North into West Rail, South again, Swamp, Delta and then upstream Delta towards the bridge along the big river. I found 3-4 frogs around Swamp/Delta. There were no small fish past Delta. I found 2 frogs - along the big river (one I swallowed whole gave me 7% S diet, the second I ate after placing down and gave me approx. 30% S diet - sent in a bug report for this not sure if intended). I went back and forth along the big river between the big bridge and the top of Delta hoping something would spawn, but with no other players around nothing did and I eventually starved.
EU (Population 100/100) - My other Herrera I logged into this morning (April 23) on was already adult and near Highlands lake. I stayed here my entire playtime hoping fish or AI would spawn. I was forced to eat another dead Herrera body I found, twice - and after 45 mins of play staying right next to the lake the entire time I found 1 frog. I saw no other players in the area this entire time. The only reason I survived as long as I did here was because of the other Herrera body I was eating from.
20 mins later I sniffed out a carno who somehow had an elite fish dead in the water - I dragged it out for him and we ate together. After that I found another dead elite fish. (drowning themselves again?) I then randomly saw an unresponsive Herrera floating in the middle of the lake and finally a few schools of fish began to spawn. The Herrera however then died - and not even joking as soon as it died all the schools of fish de-spawned. Not enough players in the zone to keep AI spawns up?
hordetest feedback - been playing in delta and SP all morning and saw or heard not a single land based AI. Fish and elite fish spawning regularly. Chased an elite fish to the shore using alt view underwater (which allows me to see underwater with NV, doubt that's intended) and it killed itself against the shore. Did this twice to prevent starvation as omni because player bodies are being camped by ceras and herreras constantly, since the play base is primarily focusing on them due to increased scent range and the ability to stack bodies in one spot because there is no ai
I have heard that AI was taken away from the hordetest.
Please return AI before making it public; I would like to be able to live outside of hotspots, I'd like to keep AI.
For the same reason, I'd like there to be at least SOME nutrients for herbis outside of migration zones; I hate not being able to choose where I travel to or when I travel. I currently do not play Herbi (I used to play mostly herbi) because of the migration zone.
stupid boar AI that spawns right at you when you log and directly comes at you to kill, as a juvenile that just got full food and water, it is pretty boring, do something with those, at least make them hostile only when moving or idk but they should not be aggressive when you are hidden in a bush logging out. fix the game.
hordetest feedback - keep finding ai, especially deer, stuck on cliffs and rocks in northern jungle
Horde test. Spent 3 days in game time around west area. My cera can grow 10% to 70% only rely on ai.
- I found deer mostly more than 10, 1 goat seem stuck in rock or cliff. Not running away and rarely make sound.
- 3 normal goats and 1 baby goat. Normal consider make sound and running away.
- 2 normal deer w/o antlers.
- 1 boar doesn't make a sound from footstep and growling.
Evrima - deers are not making a sound you need to look by eye
hordetest feedback - please fix scav ai , especially ptera as they just spawn and sit on the ground
-15,494.188, 379,731.877, 21,204.005 On hordetesting at this location I found like 40 deer all making a bunch of noise but not moving i think they are stuck on the terrian.
hordetest feedback - EU server 12/100 people yesterday.
Fish spawn irregularly in ponds even if you stay around it as a PT. Because there is hardly a single frog spawn every hour or two and ai birds every 4-6hours that just sit on the ground, you are solely reliant on fish and maybe a rare sea turtle. However the fish spawn is so low u almost starve to death while waiting for new ones to spawn. Even if you have 2-5 PT around the same pond or water area.
As well as other AI, I saw many deer, after about 6-8 hours of play i saw my first goat in the area they were meant to spawn in. Same with boars.
While All of a sudden I go to East Plains and there is nothing but goats everywhere! And maybe 1-3 deer an hour. Once again, no boar. South plains had two boars in 2-3 hours. No deer or goat was seen in south plains.
Ive found same or similar spawn numbers Occur even when server is 100/100.
Its either lots of one thing or nothing with ai spawns.
REMOVE PTERODACTYL AI IM GOING INSANE I AM LIVID.
i'm playing deino on 2 servers. i made it to southwest access lake and west rail access lake. i've found a total of 3 big fish to eat. zero players. a few frogs. why are these places to desolate? if everyone just spawns in and runs straight for east plains lake, why even make these areas accessible to players? i mean i've wasted so many hours today just to find out i'm going to starve to death. how boring
we need to change the running system in deer. these AI move faster than most dino cubs. in addition, because of the sharp turns while running, they are very difficult to catch
Southwest only spawn 3 goat in whole hour.can't even feed a dilo.
Sea turtles are too rare, and too few players saw the mythical creature alive..
The ai in this game is absolute crud. It’s clear they only spawn around groups of players. So since everyone just runs east, that’s the only place they spawn. Massive empty desolate map. Boring
So odd to me that troodon has such a limited AI pool for its diet. It has compy, but not pterodactylus-- but it DOES have pteranodon? It doesn't have bullfrog which are everywhere, but it has rabbit which is extinct on gateway. It has TENONTO on its diet but not deer?
Please make small predators have a wider range of AI diet food. Bare minimum, troo should have pterodactylus on its diet too, as well as frogs.
We need some more large AI, just not as popular as before. Dinosaurs such as Troodon, Herrera, Dilo, and more, have diets that are mainly AI. And its really tough to scavenge because of the limited spawns. NE was a hotspot, then its spawn was taken. East was a hotspot, then its spawn was taken (for most), now South is the only viable spot. If you do spawn East, you will have to run all the way to South to try and hunt or get good amounts of food. With no AI on that path, you will most likely starve either staying there or trying to make it somewhere popular. More AI would revive the NE and East. The new NE is so beautiful but no one can see it without most likely starving.
I think it's dumb that as a baby raptor/troodoon, I can't keep up with a Chicken/Rabbit/Frog. And that they don't die once pounced despite being clawed and bit many times over.
I think wounding AI needs to impact their ability to flee too. Too many times I've ran out of stam because AI can simply run forever, and never seem to bleed out, despite clearly bleeding.
fix the deer
add more fish in the swamp if you spawn as a deino in the swamp u starve
Barely any land AI on Hordetest right now, found 2 baby goats (they make new sounds thats cool) and that was it. 1 hour gameplay around NE Plains.
hordetest feedback - feel like ai is not calling enough now, and also they seem to constantly be getting stuck on rocks, trees and mountains still (when getting stuck they may call less because they bug out)
Ai isnt spawning much at all on any servers. Died twice in a row as Herrera from starvation because I couldn’t find any fish or frogs. It’s especially bad when fish just don’t spawn in the swamps, where there new migration zone is placed.
I don’t want to spawn in the east plains either because I hate it. It’s immersion breaking.
The Elite fish are near impossible to kill now.
i'm glad the fish are no longer passive, but. need to reduce the swimming speed of elite fish. it's really impossible for a deino baby to catch up to it
Never touch a running system. That should be your Credo, for your AI development. Go the old way and implement your horde additional. Not that hard..
I understand that ais have all been canceled for experimenting with the latest patch (only for the new non-ai servers).
But as often mentionned, small ais such as school fishes, frogs, hens, and rabbits are an absolute necessity for survival for small-sized carnivores such as pteranodon and beipiasaurus.
Those two are currently extinct, which isn't surprising :
- They have no way of winning a fight against any other dinosaur during their growing stage (and even a full grown will have critical trouble most of the time) and they cannot scavenge from other dinosaurs since those are still rare around the map.
- They would need to walk/run to the migration area without starving (which is already hardly realisable) and then find a free prey without any owner, scavenge from it, and not get embushed by one of the dozens of carnivores already populating the spot who could have smelled the same prey.
Only the current apexes and mid-sized carnivores of the food chain may have a normal gameplay experience time growing.
**Conclusion : Adding back small-sized ais (school fishes, frogs, hens and rabbits) is a MUST for small-sized carnivores survival such as : pteranodon, beipiasaurus, and maybe herra **
Make AI in water slower, or make baby deinos faster. Can barely keep up with 4 legged creatures as well as fish.
no one ai on the eu5 and other eu
Can you fix ai like today? i dont want to wait month to play carno. Everybody want the old ai numbers.
pls revert ai to what it was. bigger dinos not really feasible in this state unless you camp hotspots. This will only make hotspots more popular again.
uhh.. AI doesnt spawn very often
Fish sometimes get glitched out as Dieno, so that you can’t pick them up or eat after you set them down.
I don't fully know what determines when and how AI spawn, but the attitude toward them always seems inconsistent. Sometimes, it's fine. Sometimes they're everywhere. Sometimes they're nowhere to be found. This feels bad because most if not all freshly-spawned carnivores have trouble with obtaining food via PvP. You either have to find another baby to kill, find an unoccupied carcass, or kill an AI. Sometimes you might find another member of your species and they can feed you, too.
I wish there was some sort of organic-feeling gameplay method of like... Inducing AI to spawn. Like maybe, you can randomly find some deer tracks, and if you follow them enough it spawns a deer nearby. Maybe different tracks are more likely to spawn in different areas - like frog tracks by water, deer or boar tracks can spawn on roads, etc. With enough thought, this might even reduce the need for randomly-spawned AI which could result in better performance or a higher player count. Plus, it would give some players a degree of agency with their juvenile's survival, so it's not quite so luck-of-the-draw all the time.
AI spawns are too scarce, there needs to be more food around 🍖
Low ai spawn will be the death of soloplay. Just get us the old amount pls, pple who dont like it play no ai servers annyway. Nature is thrilling with life outside. Dont make it like legacy, a uge empty map... I cant even immagine a rex in here now.
Too many ai around coast(9 seaturtle and 7 crab),too less ai in land
Starved as PT looking for food aggressively the whole time twice(did find some fish, but NOWHERE near enough to stay alive)
My trio of troodons is going to starve on a full server with a 23 person queue.
Smaller AI should spawn in greater numbers than bigger AI. Say 20 frogs/rabbits/chickens to 10 boar/deer/goats
starving as herra, not a single thing to eat
Not sure if no ai/extremely low amount on regular servers is supposed to be a thing but we just had 8 people spawn in all locations on NA3 and one found ONE dear in between Jungle and observatory.
I can understand wanting to tone down the amount of AI in game but having them MASSIVELY nerfed isn't fun for the players/groups of people wanting to play together.
After spawning at all locations of the map we all spawned in one general location on the west side of the map (South Plains), met up, then scattered to find food. Some went West rail, south west edge, and near swamp/southern beach, and Highlands valley. Absolutely ZERO ai were seen.
Did a similar test around East Plains but kept around it just ran around plains. Again, ZERO ai were seen/heard. Even being one of the most popular places to play on the map. We Starved.
How are babies supposed to grow? Are players just supposed to run around and be ai food for full grown dinos? Its just not a fun experience. People wont stick to a game with an un-fun experience.
Ive found two ai as a teno. One frog away from the water, stuck on a cliff side. As well as a deer fawn on its own stuck on a rock. Neither made noises and neither moved.
Time to main herbi's! (AI doesnt exist)
The lack of AI has ruined the game imo. Why make servers with 0 AI if youre just going to change the AI on official servers?
smaller AI could maybe be just like "bushes" (on theback end?). A "zone" of x size where, say, a frog spawn is and if you press E in that zone the animation of a frog being eaten kicks in. Random looped frog ani in the zone. Like the fish?
okay so after some time playing carno I think its survivable not thriveable but survivable. 9/10 you will have to eat stuff not on your diet at some point, but we were definelty pampered before hand where not getting a 100% diet was for most dinos a rarity. Its definiltly harder but thats what the Isle is.
Jeah with no Boar and no goat around, we just had deal with no good diets as Troodons for almost 5 hours.
I don't understand it. I want more AI, not less. AGAIN.
The AI spawn rates are fine. With the amount of AI currently I feel like it's entirely possible to sustain a carnivore and as an adult being pushed to hunt other players is a nice change. I'm genuinely flabbergasted by the sheer amount of posts claiming that there's no AI when there is in fact AI spawning and in decent numbers. I'm convinced those claiming there are no AI are sitting in single hotspots rather than moving around the map.
-
AI does seem to favor some places over others but consistently spawn near players.
-
Deer have been spawning near jungles, boar in plains and goats in the Highlands in my experience.
-
I'd love to see the AI rate go up with a lower population and thin out with a full server.
-
I'd love to see an influx in smaller AI, with the new additions planned I have high hopes for it and it'll help out smaller carnivores.
-
AI shouldn't drop in-front of hungry players like it did previously or like it did in Legacy, spoon-feeding carnivores their diets isn't exactly ideal or a challenge. Previously carnivores were easier to grow than herbivores, you could just AFK in the plains and get your fill without ever needing to leave or hunt.
no, that’s not true, I have my own server, and I flew in free mode and watched on the AI, they spawn in the wrong place, and boars once every 2 hours is not normal, remember how it was before the patch
AIs are not spawning...
ive never seen any AI after the horde testing update
the fishes are fine but deer, goat especially boar spawn is so bad
I think it would be a good time to introduce a new huntable species of fish, I think that it would fit well into the adapted deino spawn size and the enhanced water biomes, which lack a bit of fauna atm in my opinion
Maybe it's because I was playing the hordetest for a hot minute before the update got dropped to the public servers... but I'm not having the same issues finding ai as other players seem to be. The ai spawns in different spots than it did pre-update, yes. It also spawns a bit less frequently, which is GOOD, imo. Getting to a large size as a carnivore is meant to be a challenge. Follow the migration zone and check near water sources if you're truly having trouble finding ai. Play an herbivore if you want an easy time growing.
AIs are not spawning i take long time to find ais
Addin small ai (just fish and rabbits or babys) to the non AI would give troodons and other tiny non-scavangers a decent chance to get somewhere.
but for now .. I love it with 150 ! 🙂
Apex Boars are MIA 😄 , haven't seen any.
Something needs to be done about AI spawns because my friends and I have died to cannibal raptors several times now who are trying not to starve. If you're going to make AI near impossible to find, punish cannibalism in non-cannibalistic species. In addition to spasms, vomit sickness is a good place to start. It should take their food rather than give them any.
turtles are spawning in mass numbers in the new patch, other ai's not so much. went from western acsess to NE plains as a dilo and did not see one ai to eat from. it seems every patch just makes the hotspots more crouded since people know they will be able to find food there
congrats devs, you made the game back to the December patch, where small carnivore are forced go to "hot spots" made by mix packers
to search for food and get killed
why don't set the ai back to fixed location like before? and why crab /rabbit / chicken are so rare to find?
A lot of pple are leaving the game because of ai changes. Read them.
Ai... does it even exist? Lol. Can we PLEASE get a HOT FIX!
AI spawning idea:
AI spawning near players causes a lot of issues with gameplay and immersion.
AI just randomly spawning across the map apparently costs performance.
AI not spawning at all leads to the aforementioned "meatgrinders".
So? What do we even want?
- AI should exist
- AI should disperse carnivores instead o concentrating them
- AI should not be a free supply drop near you
- AI should be able to be found when looking around
- AI shouldn't despawn in your face
- AI should not spawn in areas without players
- less AI should spawn in areas with more players (as per second point)
To achieve this keep the distinct spawn zones different AIs can spawn in.
If there are no players inside a zone, no AI spawns.
If there are players in a zone AI spawns with probability <base_probability>/<no_of_players_in_zone>.
||In the example picture, 4 players are inside the zone (numbered dots) so the AI spawn rate is reduced to 1/4.||
AI never spawns or despawns within a certain distance of players. This distance should be greater than render distance for immersion and to promote searching over waiting.
||In the picture AI never spawns in the brown (outside of the zone) and red (too close to players) areas, but can spawn anywhere in the green area. Note how player 2 still prevents spawning/despawning despite being outside of the AI zone.||
AI despawns only if a zone no longer has any players in it.
||If players 1, 3, 4 and 5 left the area all AI not in player 2s blocking radius would despawn, but as long as at least one player remains in the zone they remain to be found.||
There should be a maximum number of AI (or even better a maximum amount of meat in the form of AI) in each zone, that may or may not depend on the number of players there.
||Arguments can be made for both a constant (leaves it to competition) or a decreasing amount (to avoid eventual pileups in very popular areas).||
Does this improve distribution? Maybe...
But it should promote movement at least.
As long as AI is weird, slow down the hunger. A saltwatercroc can go up to a year or so without food. A comodo dragon only needs ike 10 to 20kg of meat a month...
I have been starving to death or forced to log to try to save my full grown carno and cera, and i have travelled the whole map as both, been to places ive never seen and only found 2 deer and a goat. On many diffent servers as well.
I suggest that the AI appears close as in Legacy, that is to say at a number of % personally I would say between 20% or 15% and 0% so that the player has a chance of surviving I remind you that it is a video game if it's too difficult it can put off some players
personally I'm disgusted with the game I spend my time starving or I get killed because I'm desperate to search
petition to make frogs louder, seems like they currently spawn around waterfalls and it is quite hard to track them with sound since falls are so loud
I agree 100%, I think a window with a range of about 100 meters from the players direction would be appropriate. Parameters of maybe 100-150 meters. This way AI wouldn't fall from the sky right next to you.
It also would be obtainable for the player, and not be rendering needlessly throughout the map.
Last time I played this game there was no AI thats why I stopped playing. I came back after the big update game seems to be same. Why AI system on evrima always been broken. Ive come across only single deer playing almost 2 hours nothing else.
yes please for the love of all that is holy make hunting engaging and AI actually more than just an afterthought (unintentional pun)
Having tracks spawn in, hunting via sound, or even smell- then the AI spawning and it becomes a can you catch it deal?? That could be really fun. Also just AI spawning normally as well.
This 'meals on wheels' is only true b/c there's really nothing to these AI- and the spawning is inconsistent each update. They're either super common but kinda random (like lots of boars for no reason in one area but literally nowhere else??? which can lock ppl into areas in fear of finding nothing elsewhere), or they just straight up don't exist.
I just found a deer on EU8-- NO AI... edit: and a frog
AI? What AI, there's quite literally no AI expect pteras and compys. I found few deer here and there and 1 of them was stuck in a mountian.. Please can we get a hot fix already, everyone is complaining
All of the AI that I encounter has been stuck on random objects, in random pits, on ledges of big hills just stuck. Also noticed a lot seem to make no noise they just sit there. I even screenshotted the deer I ran into.
All the bullfrogs I’ve encountered get stuck on rock ledges as they try to get out of the water, and their path finding never seems to tell them to turn around to get to land
remember me on the Frog invasion after Christmas......
AI= walking Zombies
the deer have weird running animations and there too fast
fix the ai
AI getting stuck near mountains / rocks. Best chance to find them is there. But that shouldn’t be the case, they need to roam around like before and also make sound.
hey, this is just a suggestion, can the asia server get more AI, at least for a while until there is more asian server player, the map felt so empty, and playing as a carni it's hard to get the diet slot
elite fish replenishes fg deino with 3 hunger points and usual fish with 6 points. I think that elite fish should give more hunger points than usual fish
AI like deers could roam the map in the wood towards migration zones or sanctuarys would add a nice touch 🙂
At least roam around the map would be cool, getting to a certain location to get AI knowing it spawns around there is not that interesting and leads to "hotspots"
Add Magneura in swamps and ponds throughout the map (Different color Exoskeleton could be different diet, for example red could be S diet.
I haven't heard a single AI in north jungle
Quote: "AISpawnInterval=40 - Set in seconds (how frequente it checks to spawn new AIs)"
It's definitely a useful tool. However, it does not regulate the number of all active Ai.
I'm hearing more and more Carnis starve.
A tool that sets the number of Ai on the server would be useful here.
- Ai Total on the map: For Example 400 (500max)
I think this would be very helpful for admins.
baby AI knows no fear of a carno 😄
So I get changing around AI spawns, but the issue faced by fresh juvies is finding them and I mean the AI not just the spawns. I intentionally switched from speakers to headphones the other day to get directional sound to try to find the nearby chicken I kept hearing and couldn't see over the grass. There was no consistency in the sound direction at all. Like music reduced to 10% and game sounds at max and I couldn't figure out the direction at all. Between the height of foliage and juvies being so disparate, can directional sounds be improved or scent actually do something besides turn on our compass? Scent is basically useless for tracking through foliage for anything not bleeding or already dead.
I aint find nuthun
There could be swarms of insects, similar to schooling fish, that spawn on carcasses that have been left alone for a few minutes. A few carnis and omnivores could feed on them while they are juvies, and it could help supplement their diets, but not fill much hunger. Playables capable of eating bugs when young could include Beipi and Galli, Troodon, Herra and Pteranodon.
For the others, the bugs would essentially act as a beacon for unguarded food. Any adults or larger carnis that approached would scare them away. Ceratos that vomit on their prey would keep bugs from spawning, keeping their niche as a large scavenger. And deinos who drag their food underwater would also prevent bugs from spawning.
AI dryo and gallimimus herds would be fun instead of pigs and deer etc.. Carnivores would have AI to hunt and herbivore players could hide among them and enjoy having meatshields(and company Q_Q) while playing as these dinosaurs.
Used my entire juvi dilo stamina gauge running different directions and did not see or hear any AI what so ever and I also wasted 2 dilos in the process. I have never felt like my time has been so wasted(eventually starved)
AIs are just standing
AIs are just not spawning
Please gather your resources and staff into solving what is broken right now. AI is one of the biggest issues now besides the fatal errors, focus on getting that fixed, it was working perfectly and your last 3 patches made it worse, AI is no longer spawning as it should, not to mention removing Teno AI was also a big set back instead of improvement. AI is basically not spawning where it should, it's causing severe lag and performance issues to the players due to AI being spawned and stuck/standing still, clustering servers with hidden AI that don't even make a sound, which is why performance has been so bad lately.
The AI only spawns 15 minutes after the restart, then they spawn very poorly, THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS HAPPEN!!!
I was playing on NA4 earlier and I literally couldn’t stop seeing AI. Every time I heard a deer, there was a flock of 3-5 of them big and small. Same thing with the boars. I still have yet to see any sea turtles chickens or rabbits though, also frogs are sparse
Been all over the coast of the islend, and only found 2 turtles (need moar!!!)
When a fresh-spawn deino catches a frog (bigger than his head) and it gives a miniscule fraction of S and food. Frogs are worthless when they should be a solid snack for the baby croc
You're actually finding frogs?
Smelling should probably smell certain animals especially the boar, if you've ever been in the vicinity if a boar you can definitely say that it's not a subtle smell. I could only imagine how that is for something with more sensitive of a nose.
Bunny didn't swim, it floats in this position. At least this one did in swamp
Ai should only spawn in certain areas across the island for example.
Boar should only spawn in the swamps.
Goats can only be found in the highlands.
Deer in south and east plains etc.
Would be nice to see a few dry/hypsi ai added as it’s rare to find these payable’s.
This may also help with carnivorous hotspot problem as you will not be able to acquire a perfect diet in one area from A.I alone.
Maybe add other ai aquatic animals instead of tiny frogs and crabs that are worthless. Maybe otters or beavers and freshwater turtles
how is it that, i run across the map to the migration area. and can't seem to find a single ai. what's the point of even having the migration area if i can't even eat anything there
just played on a server with "higher ai density" for an hour and the only thing i managed to find were one herd of boars (which killed me instantly because i wasnt careful enough) and a bullfrog, which i chased for like 10 minutes straight and once i finally caught it, the body that was the size of my torso, filled about two or three ticks of my hunger bar. this is unplayable for carnivores. i cant even find schooling fish anymore. earlier today, the tiny pond south from the volcano had like four schools of fish but now nothing anywhere. i checked migration areas and nothing. please, increase the ai spawn rate or density or whatever just work your magic and make this game actually enjoyable, i promise it won't spoil us to be able to survive
I noticed that the AI spawns near migration or right in it (I noticed this on the herbivore)
Ai should spawn if a Player is alone or in a empty area with lil players in it, and not spawn in a area that has alot of corpses and players to eat, and if you walk away from the AI it should despawn to avoid Server lag.
AI should spawn if you are very hungry (about 5%) while staying at the same place (for example after a few minutes).
Ai should be sniffable. Herbs dont have to chase their fruits and leaves carnos do but cant smell them at all and theyre either not spawning or not calling which is making the likely hood of starving in low player areas incredibly high.
please make the killed elite fish float to surface of the water always
Please add different kinds of AI for every biome and make spawns reliable, a game should not be completely unplayable, expecially something so punishing as survival, because you don't meet another player. It's what makes Isle gameplay so utterly boring as there's no engaging content you can do besides player on player interaction. I know it's multi player, but in a dinosaur survival sim, I should be able to survive as a dinosaur on my own.
Not having enough food or water in an area completely removes huge sections of the map from the player experience because its impossible to survive there, which seems like a complete waste of time designing the map because we'll never see it.
found a turtle that is about 200m from the beach , plz fix the AI asap
having AI spawn around populates areas feels like a punishment for the carni players that decides to move to the migration zones and/or leave the hotspots
Make decayed AI models specifically fish
Possibly replace the teno ai with a water buffalo ai, that way there’s still ai that can provide a lot of food and possibly even organs but you can still tell if you’re hunting an ai or a player.
How about some AIs in Sanctuary? And instead deers how about some mini dibbles? 🙂
I have been heavily against the idea of player dino AI for the obvious reason that it cheapens the overall experience, especially following the calls of your own species only to realize it's coming from a stupid AI stuck on a cliff.
However I'm not wholly opposed to dino AI overall; the scavengers are a nice touch (when they actually function), the proposed taco AI seems interesting... Rex AI I'm far more uncertain of, though it only being playable on unofficials and solely being AI on officials isn't the worst idea ever.
Personally, I feel that if the other dino AI, like teno AI, were reworked entirely into different species that still shared the same rig/skeleton (an alternate model more or less that's visually and audibly easy to distinguish from actual playables), the idea would be slightly more appealing.
Anything to prevent the annoying scenario of desperately following AI calls hoping to group up.
It was 2023, once upon a time in the Isle the Teno AI was providing organs for baby carnivores and yes it was instant heaven if you found one after spawning in. But too easy I have to admit.
Devs : we will change the Teno behavior so it will not be passive anymore (sounds great and realistic compared to the old situation)
Teno AI disappears in 2024 and no word spoken about it ever since.
The PvE aspect in such a big empty map was a good thing in my opinion. You could survive outside of hotspots.
Would love to see if unplayable dino AI would be added to create a more populated enviorment. Not sure how that will go on server or dev end, but it would be insanely cool to see. I also think that some playable AI predators should roam around - like adult t rex. Not knowing where you are, but hunting you just the same... would make me have legacy feels again. Especially if it's on a low pop server with high AI on unofficial. However, I understand the importance of making sure servers can handle the AI amount. Just putting my thoughts out there!
The big fish beach themselves, why or how they do it I do not know but they find a way.
have ai make noise.. or just spawn 👍
Its mind boggling to see that AI have been "Fixed" and or "Adjusted" or the fact that there is 100 players on the map and can't find anything or anyone WITH full roaming the map on NA 4 legit starved 4 times in a row now.
it looks like the previous patches have actually done something to ai, as i practically saw no ai but now the entire server is ai, i can't stop stumbling upon ai, however they seem to really like walls, because, man, literally every deer has his head inside of a wall and has no intention of running away even when attacked, soooo might wanna check that out
Ok i starved with all my crock accounts trying to find fish or anything.. time to shelve this "game" for a few months .. again..
There are no shooling fish and no crabs. Cant smell the Crab bubbles at all as Beipi.
We need more or frequent AI spawns. Cause now playing as carni = looking for food all the time. We can't nesting cause less food. Not cool. It's a big isle and should be full of life: animals, birds, etc. Or make the fasting slow for adults.
AI getting stuck as shown below
I don't think making AI more frequent to feed the carnivores is the right approach.
I don't pick carnivore to then go to a certain area to collect PvE resources all the time, that's basically just the herbivore game loop.
And as a herbivore that basically results in me collecting my food in migration zones and carnivores collecting their food in static hot spots.
The carnivores might get some more action by dealing with each other, but for the herbivore this tends to be utterly event-less.
Make hunting great again!
What do you say? This is AI feedback? Fine...
From my perspective herbivores should be the main food and AI should be the backup food.
That means player movement ought to be based on where to find herbivores, while AI should be low density food found all around the map. Found being the key here, because you should not be given AI for sitting in place.
Low density means that unless you are are small carnivore you would not be able to sustain yourself long-term from AI only. It's basically meant as "extra fuel" to find player prey or dead bodies eventually.
For this to work hunger capacity would likely need to see an increase, so you actually have time to hunt instead of playing Pacman (that is, increasing the time you can go from a full stomach, without increasing the time a specific food item feeds you).
In general I think starvation should be a threat, but not always as immediate. Right now you worry less about failing too many hunts and more about finding the next pickup in time.
||Together with AI spawning near players this kind of creates a kind of "learned helplessness" in carnivore players, where when faced with starvation you might end up going to a certain places and pray for AI to spawn, instead of actively searching for all kinds of food. And then you starve and come here asking for more AI.
This is not the way. Don't give us a fish, give us the tools to fish ourselves.||
Love starving to death 3times in a row because the server isnt 100% populated and you not in a hotspot.. come on guys this has been better before
im not gonna lie ai not being that frequent is actually good imo, starvation is something to worry about, certain places like highlands have at least MINIMUM 150 goats screaming their lungs out with 700 boar families attacking them, so i always know where to go in case i am having a severe food inconvenience
however, ai seem to have either an identity crisis or brain damage and spend their days in corners instead of in the open, smashin their heads against rocks or cliffs, so you see a literal flyin deer when you look up. now, that's not always the case anymore as i've seen some improvement, and ai is literally everywhere, but yeah if ai could stop trying to be one with the rocks/mountains or whatever they're trying to do, that'd be cool
I think everyone who is saying they enjoy the challenge of starving has not attempted to grow a cerato, or carno, and then have it die to starvation at 30-100% before you could find any players or ai. (This has happened to me pretty much every time I tried to raise one, so I started logging before I died while I wait for ai to get better.)
As of right now, ai seems to be spawning in great only after server restart. After awhile, they kinda just don’t spawn anymore, and it does get stuck in rocks and other things too which might be adding to the problem cause they stop making noises when stuck.
Just because my belly is full of ai, doesn’t mean I won’t try to murder every dinosaur in sight. (And most of them get away, so without ai I for sure would’ve just fallen over and died from starvation, after 5 or so hours trying to raise a dinosaur, not fun imo.)
People say that they want hunger so they can have herbivores as the main food source, even if a dinosaur isn’t hungry, the ai is scarce enough to want to fight herbis and eat them.
If I want to play this game, I have to sit at my desk for many hours to raise a dinosaur. I struggle to do this because of a disability 🫠 (only sharing this info so devs think about all playerbases..)
So please dont listen to those saying ai being little to none is good. It doesn’t make players more aggressive, we are always going to be aggressive starving or not. Herbis get to be full of food, graze, and are aggressive towards carnivores even if we don’t provoke them, so letting us have ai is the way to go, it makes growing slightly easier. Growing a dino for even an hour is honestly hardwork enough, and having my Dino die from starvation rather in a fight makes me not want to play at all.
I think devs just need to fix ai getting stuck (and possibly not spawning awhile after server restart.)
Edit: please only react to this if you play official. If you play unofficial servers you shouldn’t have an opinion.
More small-scale slower AI due to how slow baby carnivores are. For example forraging should be made available for most baby/juvi dinos, e.g. worms, insects or even compys and could serve as the equivalent to sanctuaries. I think the game would be more interesting if we had more "authentic"-era invertebrates as AI for young players as this game is relatively "lifeless"
Played isle for a month and still have yet to catch a chicken nor have I seen one in 3 weeks nor have I seen a rabbit. Their spawn rate could probably be buffed.
In my opinion we should be able to smell deer, pigs and goats, those mfers stink, or at least add poop to the game to track, that's one way predators track their prey irl
I'd love to see turtles spawning on the beaches near Water Access and the swamp. As it stands, I have only ever seen them on the beach near South Plains. Is this intentional?
They spawn there I’ve seen at least one, they just tend to wander into the forests far from the beach which is.. also an interesting thing to point out
Aggressive AI, example Boar, instead of immediately chasing down and brutally slaughtering anything in the size range of its aggro, instead will have phases of aggression.
First stage would simply standing their ground, playing a animation of it pawing the ground and angrily snorting.
Second stage would be mock charging. Charging the predator before backing away in a attempt to scare away predators.
Third stage would be attacking the predator.
Also Boars should be MUCH less aggressive. I've been ran down countless times or chased halfway across the map by these mobile baconators.
It would be nice to implement a scent system to hunt and find ai’s.
Not asking for a wall hack or a free lit up trail that leads all the way to it, BUT some sort of indication that in a general area there are ai.
This would help finding those pesky ai’s going mute and as a bonus anything that motivates carnivore tracking/hunting mechanic is a win.
AI don't exist.
Massively increased spawn rate for all AI types in migration zones
AI for juvs only, until we have some changes in the respawn spots (broken atm). Is non-sense to have AI and 100p instead of 150p without AI and a huge improve in the server performance lol, also, the AI is dumb AF and usually stuck somewhere, is no fun, breaks immersion, makes the game too easy, we already have the food inside the stomach growing with it, that is ridiculos and makes the game super easy as it is rn, still the focus on the pvp, not survival like the devs goal. At least remove AI around the south and east plains for crying out loud.
giant herds of ai spawn alot but also do not move at all. no calls, no pathfinding. just staring at rocks like usual
please increase the spawn rate of AI around each player cause i have died 5 times already as a carnivore because other players play only in some hotspots and AI doesnt spawn anywhere near me. PLEASE do smth abt it.
There needs to be some tweaks about ai spawning or maybe increase the server capacity because there has been too many times where i die 10mins into adulthood.
found a lot of AI, 1 goat and the rest deer around delta and east plains, deer in jungle but goat in plains, but all stuck and unresponsive only 1 calling
AI spawns seem a lot better on the enabled Hordetesting servers. Less AI spawn in hotspots, which is a good thing. The only thing I would change is having 1 player be able to spawn AI rather than a few. We tested this on Ptera in remote locational ponds. 1-2 landed pteras could not spawn fish/frogs, 3 plus however could.
ai shouldnt spawn in entire herds but more spread out while providing a tad bit more food. we dont need so many ai clustered together while other areas in the map are entirely dead. cluster of ai spawning in is what causes large fps hits
I cant seem to find any turtles or crabs i been looking for ages
i see alot of boars..not much anything alse
is it possible to add a feature similar to migration but where ai would rapidly spawn, honestly a lot of carnivores eat other carnivores so having a rotating "south plains" effect could spread people out too
it be nice if oysters and clams be added to beaches and that ptera could crack them opena nd eat them
ptera and other carnis too
I seem to be mainly hearing deer around me spawning in while im flying around the river looking for fish/frogs... idk if this is an ai issue though
It always feels like players are still punished for trying to linger outside of laggy hotspot regions, always hungry, never having a good diet, rarely seeing any other dinosaurs in the dinosaur survival. Ultimately, feeling the overwhelming emptiness in their gameplay. It doesn't matter how easy it becomes to survive solo and alone in the middle of an empty area of the map, it'll still feel very lonely and unfulfilling to be away from hotspots until we get a crucial feature that I hope is still being considered, because it'll really be what I've always wanted from evrima -
I've come across very beautiful areas in the map that had absolutely nobody around and I don't expect there's an easy way to make players spread around the map. Though, I really hope Dinosaur AI aren't thrown out the window because having some dinosaur herds in these empty regions would make them feel soooo much better, even if they are a little stupider than players. I'm usually a solo player and I love the immersion aspect of wandering the island and growing steadily, but it feels so empty and I just know seeing herds or packs of random dinosaurs would immediately make the experience so much less empty-feeling if I don't want to deathmatch in the hotspots, and really bring the beautiful parts of the map to life.
( Imagine how nice it would be to see a few ptera ai clinging to those cliffs, or hear a para herd at the cave area, would really tie it together even though these spots are far from hotspots)
My main point is that this channel will always flipflop between "its too hard to find ai" or "its too easy", but I feel like we really need immersive AI additions that are dinosaurs themselves to populate the gigantic map- higher up on priority.
If you don't enjoy playing outside of hotspot areas, its not fair to deny wanderer players the right to see dinosaur life outside of 1 water source. Maybe humans will put an end to hotspots for good though?
I feel that animal AI should spawn in low population areas and "run away" (despawn or relocate) from hotspots where lots of players are, especially carnivore players in particular, rather than spawn in greater abundance when lots of players are near.
I know if I was a sentient hamburger on legs with 50 hungry primal carnivores 100 meters to the left of me, I'd want to get the heck out of Dodge as fast as possible.
I really don't understand why AI keeps flip flopping between being everywhere and then nowhere at all
I liked it for that short period of time where every time you would go to the riverbank there would always be frogs
every time you went to the water there would always be schooling fish.
Not only is it needed for stuff like ptera but its also just rly fun and makes the game feel, idk, alive.
Please just make AI exist wherever a player chooses to go.
Do i need to personally re write the code for AI spawning in this game? i can roam around for 20 minutes and find a bullfrog. Spiro ai was the best.
i feel like ai is just goofing off at this point. few days ago i was playing ptera, went to west rail access lake and found 5 bullfrogs on the shore doing nothing. literally nothing. not moving, not running, just standing there. the next day i did not even see a bullfrog after 30 mins of staying there. i can go around delta and find 15 deers or no deers at all, and i can definetely go to south plains and find 9000000 boars and entire herds of ai, which contributes to lagging the heck out of south plains
If your going to put ai in a diet, please dont make them "rare" spons. As a Juvi its very difficult getting a diet up an running especially when most of it is other players. If your going to have Bullfrog, Rabbit, Chicken, Crab all in a dinos diet, it needs to be a prominent source of food lioe deer and goat are. If its "rare" then why have it as a diet? Its pointless at that point and just makes growing 10x harder.
ALSO please make an EASY option for juvis to get a full diet. For example im playing a deino, my only option is to get the S and the Two Lines because both of them have reasonable diets I can find such as: Deino (S), Elite Fish (Two Lines) but thoes being the only realistic options as a juvi its VERY difficult to grow and can become anoying. The hexi are Teno, Pachy, and Cera. How in the heck am I going to kill one of them as a juvi??
Please make the options easier to obtain as juries and young adults, and please make the diet foods NOT rare.
How was AI like in Spiro? It was perfect then.
Edit: It seemed you could just start a Carno, or Deino, and grow from there, without having to scavenge. I don't know the exact system of how it worked, but it was pretty good.
Maybe to help combat hot spots when AI Rex is Introduced it would be attracted by large quantities of corpses
I'm not sure why you removed it, but please add Schooling Fish back onto Herrera's diet. Please and thank you.
Not sure why you still have No AI servers. No one plays on them. We would really like to have more servers to play on and putting AI back on these servers would at least help a little bit.
Oh Deer ...
Ai still sometimes just doesnt move at all like this Deer-Train.
not a big issue, but not working properly either. Just sayin.
( This is on Hordetest )
Everytime I see a goat ingame its just staring off into the distance sitting still, I dont mind easy meals but its kinda stupid
I wish I understood how players were expected to find food. Allow me to explain for carnis and herbs.
-
For carni's, you can assume water sources might host players seeking water or AI could be near water sources. You could assume sanctuaries would have babies or parents nearby or maybe even AI around the perimeter of this area to find food. You might even think a migration zone full of plants would either have herbivore players or AI hanging around here... Unfortunately, no matter where I look, there's an absolute lack of anything. This is poor conveyance to anyone playing the game because they're using the scent tools correctly, they're exploring, they're just not rewarded in any way for doing so because there's no logic to finding food. You might get lucky and find AI or a player, but there is no rhyme or reason to it, it'd be pure luck that you find what you find. This leads to the average experience being "die of starvation and hope your next life you come across something". There's no reason for carnivores to go to specific areas if there's no one else brought to them by default either... there's a lack of logic. It's been this way for far too long and I understand encouraging player interaction, but there's nothing to bring players together at this point. Migration zones you say? Let's get to the herbivores.
-
For herbivores, at least in my experience on diabloceratops, I'm too slow to make it in time to the next migration zone and by the time I do it's moved or has almost no food or only 1 MAYBE 2 types of nutrients available there. If the expectation is that herbivores live passive, long, defensive lifestyles by migrating to each zone to sustain a good growth time... it's not done right. Sanctuaries to give you a boost? This would work if I didn't run into the same issue where my first mushroom's benefits are now gone from the time it took me to find a 2nd mushroom.
TL;DR: How does a player figure out where food is ever with this kinda RNG?
I've seen a lot of AI at places noone goes, or just stuck, so, a suggestion ive come up with is setting a timer in the AI, if they arent interacted with for X amount of time AND there are no players nearby, it despawns, so more AI can respawn in that area. Could be a solution 😄
When playing as carnivore the more hungry u get the more ai that spawns around u
this might sound absolutely stupid, but it looks like ai is fixed and suddenly the servers are dying (140 ping compared to 50), sooooooooooo might be a good idea to re-think ai a bit...?
no fish out side south plain's lake on HT
Been growing Ptera, currently reached 68% and the only thing I can find is schooling fish (which is sparse and only shows up in specific areas- no spawns in swamp or water access for example). I have seen deer, but there are no boar, crab, turtles, rabbits or frogs.
Edit: This is in the Horde Testing branch.
What if instead of having AI appear all over the map, you have them assigned to designated areas across the entire map (like the size of northeast lake or double that) and they only spawn in a random location inside the area when a dinosaur walks into it from any direction? The dinosaur would still have to hunt; following sounds the AI makes and/or footprints because just seeing the AI standing in plain sight would be too easy and boring, and the AI should move around. Other dinosaurs would obviously be able to see/hunt/kill the AI even if they didn't trigger the area. After a decent amount of time, the spawned AI would vanish if not killed and the area would "reset", meaning that an AI couldn't spawn for a certain amount of time and that time shouldn't be specific but have a range, like every 10 to 20 minutes (or whatever works best), to avoid people just camping the spot for food. And maybe only a certain amount of these areas (maybe none that are adjacent to each other) can be active at a time, leaving the others dormant but ready, so they don't worsen the games performance. This would not only prevent the server from being overrun and slowed down by AI that no one can even find but also motivate carnivores to travel around the map. More importantly it'd allow them, too, since the biggest issue (in my personal experience) is starving to death when going too far from hot spots.
almost every pond spawns schooling fish if a player is around and sometimes a elite fish - good!
Now make all beaches spawn Crabs and some Turtles (maybe preferrably at night) to help saltwater crocs exploring - THANKS!
p.s. and like schooling fish is not, but elite is on deinos diet, crabs dont need to, but a turtle should give you some nutrients.
they generally have to increase AI spawns
For playables with rabbit on the diet, trackable burrows need to happen. Right now rabbits feel like unicorns
atleast you guys can find something all i can find is damn dear
add fish in the oceans
in all my hours i have yet to see a frog or a rabbit (52 hours)
to add to my previous statement i think that either putting more frogs rabbit or other small animals in larger quantities would be good since sometime i can play 4 dinos and wander around without finding food anywhere even in the sanctuary or the migration zones
there are not enough fish in the rivers at least not on na4 i tried to play deino multiple times but kept starving due to no fish
If we are to have ai I would much prefer more immersive ai like other dinos even if they don't have their attacks yet. They are just as functional as the animal ai and honestly far less goofy.
I know it's in the lore, but it would me much more immersive for dino ai to be more common than animal ai.
The dinosaurs already have stunning animations and full kits you can use, why not use the work you already have to make something much more immersive and polished?
You could spawn these dinosaurs in carnivore migration zones to encourage movement around the map and have less 'running around like a headless chicken' until you starve. As a carnivore you would know where to find the herds you hunt, it's much more immersive to give carnivores migration zones that contain ai dino herd.
Even though its a pvp game you need a game loop for players so that the game doesn't die when people don't cross paths. Hunting herds in migration zones would create that game loop for carnivores, meaning you can enjoy the game even when things get quiet. Some people play solo and like that realistic hunting gameplay
These zones would give carnivore players a goal to work towards, much like herbivore zones. I love the herbivore zones as it encourages player interaction. It would be so cool to see carnivores contesting other species for food in these zones with ai herds.
You can also control which dinosaurs cross paths if they share zones, meaning you can create that ecosystem you want of certain dinos crossing paths with eachother and sharing territory, much like how herbivore zones work.
more ai in hot spot and more ai for carno for all diets
Thoughts on AI having a sort of "cone of vision" that they can actually see from and a set chance that they might not see a player who enters that vision, especially if they're sneaking. This could be a way for players to sort of teach themselves how to properly hunt.
The following example is just an example, so don't look too much into whether or not the exacts would work balance wise, I am literally pulling numbers from the air on this. In game, deer would have a wider FOV and about an 80% chance of seeing a player who gets about 6 meters away within that FOV. At 8 meters it'd be 60%, 10 would be 40%, and so on. They have better vision during the twilight hours, so that would teach a player to approach from behind them, sneak to get close, and to hunt at specific times when the deer's vision is poorest, just like with other players.
Boar on the other hand would have a wider FOV and would be able to see players sneaking up on them in that FOV at a much higher rate (to simulate their good scent abilities), probably about an 80% success rate at 10 meters. Additionally, that chance would halve at night. More challenging especially for smaller predators, but there'd be a better chance of a successful hunt than there is now, where you just step a little too close to a boar and they'll chase you across a quarter of the map for daring to exist 5cm too close to them.
The overall idea is to, as mentioned before, teach players to use strategy, to take advantage of the strengths and weaknesses of both AI and other players to get in that first bite, and to also make it possible for fresh-spawned dinosaurs to hunt AI without getting sent back to the character select screen. Ceras have deer on their diet but can't catch them for a while, while a poor fresh-spawned raptor get's ripped a new one by psychic boars.
add sea reptiles to oceans like plesiosaurus
More AI and more boar PLS.
YES I just died of starvation playing as a carno I went everywhere and I couldn't find anything. if ai could spawn more or when your basically died form starvation. something should spawn.
Tell us the impact AI has on servers. Do we need to buy more AWS space? I'm okay paying 5 dollar a month if it helps up server performance.
An idea for the AI system that uses the current system (AI Spawns around players) but still promotes some sense of migration amongst carnivore players, preventing "Hot-Spots" from forming, at least for too long.
-
Have AI Spawn in a circle based on the players position, however it will ONLY spawn on the "outer" edges of the circle, promoting players to move from their current position to obtain food.
-
When an AI, or a certain number of AI spawns based off a players position, their original position is "remembered" by the AI Spawn system, preventing new AI from spawning based on this position. If they are within the "circle" of a previous AI they have spawned, they will not cause anymore AI to spawn until they have exited this radius.
-
The AI spawning system will remember the last 2 or 3 saved positions a player has been in, meaning they must move farther from the original position to spawn new AI.
-
Spawn circles of multiple players can overlap, but will only spawn their first AI spawn (whenever it is determined this occurs), and will not spawn again within their own circle OR the circles of players within this same overlapping area.
-
A carnivore players set of "Spawn circles" dissapears completely when they die, meaning too many carnivores in a single area will spawn no AI at all, unless some of the carnivores end up being killed off.
-
Either through biomes of the map, or the area of a players "Spawn circle", spawn AI of only 1 or 2 diets, to promote players to move to other locations to fulfill a perfect diet.
Could maybe lead to more dynamic playstyles, and make it slightly harder for players to naturally maintain mixpacks due to the changed AI spawn dynamics and different dinos needing different AI from different biomes.
i have yet to see an ai besides fish after 6 straight days of spawing and starving to death
make the ai more active so that there arent just a bunch of deers standing and that`s it
There is literally no fish on US West 1 hordetest
Add fish sea turtle and crab spawns in the ocean
Hunting grounds for carnivores where AI is sure to appear.
How migrations works for herbivorous.
So about the dilo ai, we have big problem. the hallucinations are able to go full sprint speed in mud and are able to go UNDER the mud and hit you. I have lost my precious dibbly wibbly to this and im sure others have lost dinos due to this glitch, and im sure they would also want this to be fixed.
It's astonishingly stupid how little AI spawn in some locations on the map... such a lack of food that you actually starve trying to get your diet. Sea turtles and crabs are like unicorns and even schooling fish are lacking/non existent in multiple rivers/streams near the coast. Makes the game impossible. Nothing like going to the areas it says to find items on your diet, only for there to be NOTHING, 0 AI, nada, zip and you ironically die of starvation.
More Fish... there are like 3 Elite fish i guess and some small school fish. I think crabs(AI) would be cool. and maybe make school of fish not clip through the ground
I think in general we need the AI to be upped a bit. Starvation from having no AI spawning in is a common thing for carnivores to the point that growing is useless if you don't get the lucky dip of finding some murder field. I know its a survival game but as of right now with little to no AI spawning its more or less a starving game.
Make AI spawn more frequently in Migration Zones (MZ). Make AI spawn less frequently in areas that aren't MZ, but still allow them to spawn. To save on performance make AI despawn if a player isn't within a certain range of the AI. No sense of having are around if there is no one around to kill it.
Have AI call out often, like it used to back in legacy, so carnivores can track them by sound.
I would type something but there is just no ai.
Hordetest: The ai behavior is very inconsistent. Most of them just stand around, calling occasionally.
I did see one boar yesterday that was aggro like they all used to be. Sure surprised me!
One deer ran away out of many MANY stationary ones.
Most turtles are now stuck in the ground and can't move.
lack of AI make this game unplayable for both carni and herbi. Herbi is boring without the threat of getting murdered and there are no carnis because they all starve to death.
Either get fix compy and ptero or get rid of them. All they do is sit there and hog up server power. They don’t move or eat copses like they’re supposed to
The Ai is one reason the southplanes hotspot exists. I have an idea to how get rid of the hotspot and make it more interesting for carnos to explore the map and be on hunting all the time. Currently if i understand the ai spawn system correct they spawn depending on if an player is in the region and if they are more players the spawns in that region spawn more AI. But what would be if we had the spawns of ai being first of all random in regions and time based like an random time between 15 and 30 minutes an ai spawner will spawn an ai but only if the previous spawned Ai from the same Spawner was killed. Also for performance sake i would make it so ai spawners cooldown is reduced on Migration zones so they spawn more frequently there and outside of this lesser spawners are active. This could be achived if you group ai spawners up per Migration zone regions. As exemple east planes is the Migration zone so the ai spawner there are all active with reduced cooldown on spawning ai. But the other zones on the map have per region zone only like 2 or 3 spawners active with an longer cooldown. This would only work for the land based carnos and not deinos i guess
AI totally neglected this update it seems, which is fine and a matter of priorities. Like the many suggestions above, the role of AI is extremely important for a broader spectrum of gameplay. This is currently not working because of the fact that the spawning and movement/calling systems are broken.
Feedback: Give AI the needed attention because the community will greatly benefit from this.
I don't know why the south became a hot spot ... but there was no food anywhere else, so I finally had to go to the south because I couldn't find any food and starved to death after I left there.
There are many places on the map where no matter how long you stay, there will be no AI, or just some frogs, which is probably the reason why no one goes to those places.
id say for now the isle should stick to putting down big old dino corpses on the ground as food/nutrient spawns for carnis since it seems to crash servers to have AI fish and animals running all over the map. id rather not lose another carni to starvation due to wanting to explore a tiny bit and starving due to lack of AI.
Just fix the AI.
Ive played the isle way back then and the AI was annoying at times. But I can actually hear them and see them. I feel like now in evrima, most of my deaths was due to starvation. Either Im not in a hotspot (and me being a new player, having 0 clue on where I am or have to go), or they dont spawn at all. Maybe they do! idk! Im new. But its def something thats pushing me away from this game because all the deaths are from either starvation or the occassional "yo!! another player!! finaly!!" and then getting my butt kicked >:(
I cant seem to find AI
I cant seem to sniff out even scraps at times
And anyone else near me area, regardless if theyre the same dino or not, are prob also starving so they HAVE to kill me. Instead of finally getting a group :
I managed to get to a longer run than usual because I found a player corpse that prob starved to death too hihihi
all food, including ai, should be so common you're unable to starve as a juvenile. as an adult carnivore, you're dangerous, and finding food in PLAYER dinos should be a necessity. that's an incredible part of the game's design. adult herbivores should have no trouble finding food unless they specifically want to seek out their diet. common ai animals would keep growing carnivores from starving, as well as breathing some LIFE into the map even in the emptier places. more common herbivore food outside of migration zones would allow people to explore, which means carnivores can move away from just being in the south plains, as now player's populate the whole map rather than just two hotspots. i know more common ai is the goal anyway, but this game NEEDS to move away from being a time-wasting starving simulator where if the RNG isn't in your favour, you lose 8 hours of game time for something that isn't your fault. we love playing as your dinos. we hate starving as them.
As usual, the ingame mechanics for finding food is useless, have to head to discord to find other players (south hotspot). Just got my first bite of food as a Carno after 30 minutes of gameplay.
cant catch fish its rubberbanding all over the place fix it please.
insects maybe... a good source of food for tiny carnis
Ai spawn rate actually quite enough.
But they have too less meat that can't feed carnivore.
Give ai more meat or create some big ai.
Can't you replace the current AI spawning system by a timer? Or maybe make it spawn when a single player is close to the spawning area. It would be more simple and no one would die of starvation just because no other player is around. Also, it would make the map less like a desert in terms of biomass. Seriously, we got entire rivers and lakes that are empty of fish.
Please increase the amount of nutritional value that a bullfrog gives deinosuchus… 1% is not a fair enough amount when NOONE is near. They are massive fat frogs that give little to no nutrition
Either that or add some other larger aquatic S diet AI. Like a giant salamander or a beaver or capybara or something
The current AI system is terrible, as the ais only spawn in hotspots, which are not accessible to spawn for every dino (herrera). I suggest you make zones where AI can spawn only if a player is nearby. It would only make the game look more alive, right now it just looks like an empty island..
Kinda realizing why everyone just plays deino, cant find ANY AI for food in this game, idk if the devs adjusted the ai spawns for the new map or just kept the same ai spawn rate but it... sucks for lack of a better term. a d d f o o d p l e a s e (died twice to starvation in the past 3hrs, there are NO ai on the beaches btw, no turtles, crabs or frogs anywhere)
The Pterodactyl AIs are bugged and don't do anything, they don't attack, they don't fly, they just stay still on the ground
Give the ai hunger and thirst simple
Be able to hide from AI in the water, bushes, behind trees, tall grass. Be able to stalk and hunt them.
Up the spawning of rabbits, frogs and turtles.I have legit Not Seen a single frog, rabbit or turtle for 35 hours of Play time
Even though AI spawn around migrations, i feel that there arent enough AI for the player to hunt. I feel that either we have to allow for more players/server, or up the amount of AI animals.
stego food is bug i become no diat i eating melon russula and dont have diat ? on HT server
(Evrima)Up the spawning of all AI in general. There are far to little AI(not schooling fish) to sustain anything let alone contribute to diets. Ive never seen a chicken, and i rarely ever see any of the land based AI(goat, boar, deer)
I’ve seen a lot of AI, but it’s extremely inconsistent from what I’ve seen. I can see 5 deer within the same area, within 30 minutes, for one day, but the next I see nowt but a goat kid for 3 hours.
More often than not it’s the latter, so it’s genuinely more reliable to grow a carni by spawning in at a hotspot and trying your luck with the 20 corpses about the place
It sucks when running and then getting stuck on a pterodactyl ai. Maybe make it that when you are big enough you just kill them by stepping on them instead of getting stuck at them.
I see deer pretty frequently but they’re always in a group standing together completely silent and unresponsive. Haven’t seen any other land ai
possibly more skins for ai / diffrent types of antlers on deer and ai cosmetics to make the game feel more realistic? or some ai will kick you if it senses you behind it?
Maybe up spawn rates for bullfrogs and chickens. I’ve been playing Evrima for a while and have seen every other ai many many times but never have I seen any frogs or chickens
( on the hordtesting branch ) The ai spawnrates have been petty good in terms of needing food however I'm noticing a distinct lack of anything that isn't deer since that seems to be the primary ai that I have been seeing 90% of the time and the ai seems to be bugged quite a bit of the time, not responding to any threats or moving at all.
I've lived 5-6 lives as a carnivore in horde testing and I have never seen an AI other than frogs, and so I have been largley unable to find a first meal.
i playing hordetesting eu2 deino spawn water acces, almost coming swamp location there is a no elite fish nothing, i didnt see any deino
Please increase the amount of Turtles and Crabs that spawn, it's incredibly rare to find one. Please and thank you.
My Feedback:
Spawned in as a Cera
Ate some Deer and other random stuff i found
ran around in the rain for an hour or so.
continued to run around in the rain.
More running the rain.
Continued to hunt for imaginery animals to eat.. did stop raining
Still running around looking for anything to eat.. nearly starving now
got to 70% grown.
Oh here comes the rain again.
Back to running around in the rain..
Still no animals to eat..
Dead
:Cause of death starvation.
Will return to the game once they allow animals to be hunted in the wild..
Graphics were good though 🙂
Forcefully move an AI that hasn't moved for 2-5 minutes. Too many AI are stuck atm, not making noises. This means they are hard to find, and it breaks immersion. My guess is that they also stop other AI from spawning (I'm assuming there's a max limit to AI population)
Feels like a really simple fix that would liven up the map a bit.
I think AI should go to rivers and ponds to drink water just to give deinos a better chance at finding something to lunge at
I fell with dilo from rock, broken leg so i healed to 50% of hp, then ai pig came and killed me in 3 shots? Like what?
saying this again, please add migration zones for carnivores with ai too that go around the map, it encourages exploration and for animals to all engage with eachother
make it so the ai moves if standing in one place for too long
Jungles should be full of life. Maybe add some bugs or eggs if no AI is around? So juvie carnivores stop dying of starvation.
Boars seem to be doing a ridiculous amount of damage? I had a troodon at 70~ % growth get one or two shot by a baby boar, when I accidentally slid down a crevice by the lagoon south of SW river/plains. (from full hp)
Add termite mounds or something in the sanctuary as a carnivore version of the mushrooms
make ai spawn more
maybe spaw more fruit in jungle, egg or insects
The food gained for schooling fish (specifically for deino) are very inconsistent. The size is tied to the growth of the deino. A full grown deino gets approximately 10% food from one fish, for a hatchling its something like 3%. These values should be the other way around. Why does a small fish give so much food to such a huge animal compared to a tiny one?
PT Is boring sometimes, as it cant really kill anything and has no threats in the sky other than other pts. Maybe add a hawk ai that attacks it?
add more actual dino AI's, more herbivores and some omnivores to even things out, cos honestly once I get big enough it's near impossible to sustain myself off of fish alone (as a Deino)
MORE FOOD MORE HERBS and make pts worth something to actually play
no fish outside the swamp / south plain, no matter how long you sit there the water remain dead on HT
Please add the Pterodactylus and Compy to the Herrera's diet. It makes no sense for them to have Pteranodon and other small creatures on their diet but not those. Please and thank you.
bring Teno AI back
lol more AI spawns please 🙂
carni ai such a hell
Please bring in every dinosaur (beside Deinosuchus) as AI.
Bring Teno AI Back - From Carnos and pretty much every other carni lol
surrounded by ai, then they all disappeared and starved to death
Ai spawning used to be so much more reliable and consistent until the last big AI patch. Any biome you arrived at, you could expect to find at leat one or 2 NPCs when doing a lap and searching around. After killing it or finding nothing, you could trust that you would find a nice variety of the biome-relavant Npcs after resting a bit and doing another lap.
This enabled fun gameplay like carrying a goat to the swamps as a Dilo, or a small cerato/piglet to the highlands and know you would have access to a good variety and quantity of food for a while. If you chose to nest at that point, you would sure find some more food during the process.
These days you have to learn specific spots where AI tends to get stuck, check these and hope for the best. Sometimes you can find groups of same NPCs just hanging there, if they haven't yet been cleared after server restarts I suppose. At best, there are spots where you can often expect one or 2 creatures, but often it's just empty spaces after multiple lapes around whole biomes.
This feels like being the main reason behind most players being stuck at South Plains, maybe 2nd to the East Plains spawn point being removed. At least there is sure some food to be found at the hotspot. Nesting anywhere far from there as any Carni is a sure sentence for starvation. You either have to find a relativelly safe spot close to Plains, or run straight there from a neighbouring biome as soon as possible.
This created a situation where the players with less imagination just hang at the single hotspot on the map, while the more adventurous ones are stuck in a loop of hopelessly searching for other viable spots until they get hungry enough again to go replenish at South Plains. I'm not certain, it might be that the quantity of AI remained the same, it's just that they're now all stuck and hidden at some more yet-to-be-discovered or unreachable places. Either way it needs to change...
AI should not be able to detect players in the water. I've had Boars chase me while I was underwater as a baby deino, herrera, and beipi 😭
What happened to AI again? I remember times where AI was no talking matter because it just worked, now its an up and down wether AI are actually in the game. I didnt play for a few months so I kinda expected that the AI problems have been figured out especially since alot of AI spawns had been fixed back then... today I again only see AI right after a restart, never seen any AI elsewhere. How can something that has been fixed stop working 2 patches later? Like only thing I can think of is someone playing around with AI spawns which keeps messing them up. Fix and dont touch after it works pls.
Take frogs for example, people complained about frogs not spawning at all, so they messed up big time and the map was flooded with frogs who were invincible. Then they fixed it so frogs spawned perfectly and consistently. Now a few month later Ive NEVER seen a single frog and trust me I was searching for them quite a long time. Again only reason I can see is someone tried messing with frog spawns again, cant explain it to myself otherwise.
Is there any reason behind changing the AI spawns over and over (which messes them up over and over)? And are AI related things not tested in general (frog incident also questionable if any dev ever tried their new changes at all)?
No hate, I do understand that game development is not easy BUT at least test your changes and if it works consistently why swap it for an experimental version which clearly hasnt been tested enough. Just questionable choices being made and I say that as a software developer myself.
PS: Havent seen a turtle in like a year, are they still in the game?
I've been searching for ANY AI on an official server that has consistently had 90+ players in the time of me searching. In two hours, I have found none, and I have been consistently searching. It's incredibly frustrating to be afraid of dying due to starvation despite the world itself appearing to be incredibly lush and conducive to life.
Please fix whatever is wrong with ai. There's been a few posts where they appear stuck, or there appears to be a max limit - the difficulty is that the migration zones are incredibly unreliable for carnivores to find herbivores at, and there is very little to no ai in between different map areas, meaning it is incredibly difficult for a carnivore to move migration zones at a young or medium age without dying.
need to revamp the whole AI system. Clearly not working.
Maybe make it where each location has a certain number of AI that it can "support" (max number). this number will be used to prevent major lag when there is low pops of players. Make it so when there are less carnis in an area, the more AI spawn and the faster they respawn
Provides ability for players to live and nest in less populated areas without starving, and incentivizes travelling away from hotspots. it is also realistic as no animals would be able to surive in an area with 8 carnos and 5 ceras running around, so no animals would be able to breed or anything else in such an enviorment. I also would imagine it would be an easy-ish impliment.
also cut down on how many compy and pteros spawn.
If the AI spawn problem cannot be solved in a short time, please temporarily increase the amount of food provided by AI.
Call it back when the problem is solved
I understand feeling the need to make ai scarse, however, this is a game and needs to be engaging for all players.
I believe ai should spawn around the player like in legacy, this is because the map is so huge that it's just not reliable to find ai and this would also help with lag.
Also in legacy when you placed down a nest ai spawned. I know you may not want this because it means people will have an easier time, however this is a game which suffers from performance due to ai idling in random spots around the map bc no one can find it.
Moreover, this is a game and should be enjoyable in all circumstances, not in the specific instance where you find another player. The system right now makes the game unejoyable for most players.
I know this game is online, but there should be a gameplay loop that players can engage in without the need for other players to prevent people getting bored to death. With a map so huge relying on player interaction to carry your game will kill it.
Maybe adding in dino ai that can fight back that match the age of your dino as you grow could solve this issue. It isn't completely easy and adds an immersive gameplay loop.
Some people like to play solo and this ai system strangles that and pushes away a lot of legacy players who played for the immersion and not the combat.
on Hordetest the Goat-Babys are too loud. I nearly got a heartattack when i ate a Goat and the Baby was running nearby. The Footsteps were as loud as Teno or something...
Troodon should have Pterodactylous as [//] diets.
Make Ai animals spawn more. Once I was at east plains and nobody was around and only one deer that was bugged in the fence so I couldn't kill it. And that was only one deer and no ai around and no player around. And because of that I died to hunger because I was already low on food.
I'm thinking that boars need a SERIOUS damage nerf, I have seen fg carnotauruses get mauled by couple of boars
Need more crabs and sea turtles. Every time I try spawning as a pteranodon I can never find any food on the coast.
Map is as empty as ever. Devoid of life.
Bring back tenontosaurus ai
In reality, it is basically difficult for carnosaurus to starve to death because there is enough food, but this game makes me feel very much like when the dinosaurs became extinct. The world was very empty, and carnosaurs could not find anything to eat, nor could they find herbivorous dragons. Even if you go to the settlement area, I think you can't just rely on players to maintain ecological richness and diversity. Adding more AI of different types and quantities will also help to enrich the ecological environment and solve the problem of most people only playing meat dragons. It is impossible to force players to play with herbivorous dragons to maintain ecological balance, so increasing AI is necessary.
the ai need buff or something its hard to find food as a carnivore that isnt a carno or a deino
I kinda miss the old dedicated areas where specific AI spawned, because that caused most players to migrate throughout the map which also led to cool interactions and fights.
Same goes for the diets for herbivore now everyone needs to go to one place.
I think the hotspots are such a huge issue because u did get rid of this system.
Id love to see this "old" system tested out on gateway in hordetesting or smth just to see how players react to it. Of course they would need the information that it has been changed, but I think it could finally solve the hotspot issue.
I loved just running around which almost always led to something interesting happening, and even if nothing happened it felt way more immersive than just sitting in one spot only really moving when I get bored just to be forced to go back to the hotspot so I dont starve.
Feels more like a deathmatch now since everyone is sitting in the same spot looking for fights since theres nothing else to do since u cant even explore.
Feel free to start a discussion if u have other ideas which would get the players back on their feet again 🙂
no fish ai spawning in swamps currently, saw nothing even after server reset
Make omniraptors AI. I think that it would fit quite well.
Can we get a fix for the missing AI
- Chickens are apparently invisible according to server owners using admin tools
- Rabbits are non existent as well and cant test the "new" digging up burrows mechanic that was mentioned in a HT patch months ago
- Crabs just dont exist unless a omnivor digs them up
- Sea Turtles do spawn in ONE location but they used to spawn all around the map and was fixed at one point but imedietly broke again
idea for semi aquatic fishing (sucho, bary, ect)
schooling fish could have a chance of spawning on waterfalls, which these dinos could stand in the water and catch them when a prompt shows up, needing the player to be ready to time it correctly in order to successfully catch a fish. using the way that grizzely bears hunt as a referance
I actually miss the velociraptor ai, to hear their spawnin sound and either deciding if I am that starved to try or flee. It added a touch of panic fun especially in more empty servers.
Add Deer to Troodons food list
Additions to my suggestion above
It seems like DEER is really not in any Nutrientlist of Troodon and Herrera.
That really bothers me a bit cause for some reason i do usually find Deer first in any Plains biome. Pls consider adding Deer to these dinos Nutrient List as i believe especially as the small dinos, the AI dinos should all be in their Nutrientlist, this could swap later on but def till like 50% have all AI dinos (except for fish) in the baby carnivores food list.
Also seems like deer spans usually first in such biomes then the other respective ais
Add more AIs spawning, its so hard to find them, everytime i spawn with a babye i cant find any IA and babyes cant hunt for big dinos and scavanging is dangerous, babyes die so easy
Add more diet AIs too
My journey with Pteranodon:
Spawn, looking for turtles, none, looking for crab, none then decided to take the only option the game has to offer me in term of diet cause my stomach was at 14%
Looking for fish, got some. Full stomach, 55% stam left. almost 70% water left.
Not really happy with my one type diet but will do. Decided to look for turtle again because i really want to have more than 1 diet type, i have 90 minutes to play before wifey comes back.
Moving somewhere else. looking for turtle with the spawn location of the official map. After a good 10minutes i couldn't find any, even at the official spawn locations. As i starved to death 3 times yesterday looking for them (and only one time i saw one turtle) i decided to keep trying for next 5 minutes, but in vain.
Arrive with, 30% stamina, 90%food, 60% water.
Resting 195 secondes to get from 30% stamina to 90% stamina. (it takes 5 full minutes to get full stamina, what a joke)
Now food and water depleted a bit during this resting time.
Stat: 90% stam, 78% food, 48% water Decided to keep looking for turtles. Managing my stam as a pro.
Didn't find any, time to climb up to find water sources. Taking note that each of my takeoff takes 10% stamina, which is literally 30sec resting.
Stam 75%, food 70%, water 40%,
Find 3 fish, i decided to pick them up and drop on the floor to avoid having to take off 3 more times which will cost me 30% stam which is about 100 secondes resting.
Drop the fish on the ground, raptors come, stole them, i ended up starving.
wife asked me how was my day if i had a good time on my dino game, i said yes for sure because she offered it to me, but in fact it was so frustrating.
Result, i spent 95 minutes having no fun. **What is the point of taking 8% of an hour to rest my full bar of stamina ? ** Meanwhile other stats are going down by 1% per minutes. Have you ever play the game dev?
Can you pls let there be some more ai and plants outside the habitated areas
Let AI spawn in areas with lil players or alone players in it. Theres no reason for AIs to spawn in areas filled with corpses and players to hunt.
The current AIs spawns makes carnivores need to go to hotspots or player populated areas to find AIs, this leaves the rest of the map empty.
Make AI spawn in faster once a player loads an area. If you enter a new area on 10-20% stomach, it can take so long for the game to realize you're there to spawn AI that you can starve before it spawns in.
I haven't seen any AI except deer and turtles for the last month, where are all the boars and goats? Do they have such a small chance of spawning?
ADD BIGGER AI
Playing with a carnivore with adult its hard find baby/juve herbs to eat and when we finally find it, it is with a whole pack, which is a lot more strong than you. Even if you find one, its almost no food, you eat all in one bite.
With baby carni you can only scavange and only if youre rlly lucky you can find some baby herb smaller than you to eat.
Its so hard find the // diet with all dinos for some reason, for carnivores its because its an abandoned dino like the dilo for cerato which is a bit hard to find someone using and for herbivores its bc this diet just wont spawn at migration zones.
Well with my suggestion we could fix this problem finding some dino AI!
Add AIs like juvenille/baby Tenonto, dibble, dryo, galli, dilo, pachy, stego and beipi, make them spawn alone or in small packs of 2-3
Make the Ais be able of selfdefense ( if the attacker is smaller ) and flee ( if the attacker is bigger or its a coward prey dino like dryo )
they spawn more at migration zone and only baby dinos spawn at sanc and they spawn like a lot at sanc so baby carnis can find a good utility for sanc!
let AI bleed out
Add more attacking AI, Its sooo unfair that you can just kill AI very easily then AFK for a whole hour, and repeat the process till your adult, Don't you think AI should be more challenging to hunt? (NERF DIABLO BTW WHY CAN IT STUN A FULLY GROWN STEGO! ) I know some kind of AI's are hard to find but that is not the point, the point is that hunting someone should'nt be this easy.
make ai spawn more likely where theres less players around? isnt their whole point to feed players when theres no one around or in hunger?
when theres a lot of people around players can hunt them instead of ai
-41,317.706, -154,973.3, 56,585.644 There is a patch of spawnable area in a rock AI is able to spawn into. unaccessable and takes up spawn cap
Add at least 1 IA for each dino diet.
My experience playing carnivores:
carno: spawned, found no // diet, needed to grow without it
cerato: spawned, found no // diet, needed to eat bones until sub, when sub completely lost // bc no dilos at the server and i was FAR away from high
in another gameplay with adult goats could not fill my // much too
Much like the herbivores can graze to keep from starving I think there should be schools of small fish and rodents and such scattered around the map to keep the carnivores from starvation as well
The whole AI pop is either deer or goat. We need balance in numbers.
Add more attacking AI, Its sooo unfair that you can just kill AI very easily then AFK for a whole hour, and repeat the process till your adult, Don't you think AI should be more challenging to hunt? ) ** I know some kind of AI's are hard to find but that is not the point, the point is that hunting someone should'nt be this easy. **
little birds should not block big dinos
I have an amazing idea! a new type if ai mechanic
BIRD NESTS 🪹
How it will work
there would be bird nests up
tree's 🌴
branches 🪵
high rocks 🪨
high places and so on
and there would be a small amount of chance that it would have an amount of eggs, ranging for 1-7, the more eggs the more rare
The dinosaures ment to hunt the nests
**herrerasaurus ** 🧗♂️
pteranodon 🦅
etc, flying, climbing tree's dinosaures
small note!
if an omni some how!! dont ask me how, manage to get up the spots, it can eat them. (your risking your life by getting to that height)
smelling icon! 🪺 (Something like that)
UPDATE
There could be also 2 birds, mom, and dad. protecting the nest. 👪
Of course they will get killed easily, but for jeuvline and teens it would be hard. 😓
We're not talking about normal birds here, we're talking about dinosaur birds. 🦖
Please bring fresh water turtles to the game.
Updated crab models would be neat. 🦀
Pls let there be some more ai outside of the migration zone so that you dont need to stay there
No ai servers are a W
BRING AI's in the game... i died as deino and havent found a single AI out of migration zone... come on its a whole map and u " control " us where we suppose to be...its lame...iam done!
Pls let there be some BIG AI spawning in herds. And an additional option: Let player spawn in AI nest with AI herd (btw I know it would be a lot of work but it would make it easier to play solo)
Fresh spawn Ptera having a hard time catching frogs 🐸 they hop so fast! And when I try to catch them I’m already out of Stam. Rest & I lose them completely.
AI like Deer, Boar, and Goats for some reason have odd sound attenuation/traveling. Many many times will they sound as if they're right next to me, yet be across an entire field. The direction of the sounds is noticeable, but the distance....not so much.
This may just be a part of many sounds breaking due to UE5 updates and such, but it'd be really nice if AI calls traveled more normally similar to player calls.
even as a troodon i havent seen ANY chickens or rabbits and as a troodon ive been all around the map
ai is partly not to be heared by birds anymore. same goes for river sounds and shooling fish, if you dont have the camera nearly touching the water below you. during the grainy water in the rivers i often pass fish not seeing it or it spawns to slow, idk, and hearing it afterwards if i fly low and scratch the cam over the water, but this cannot be intended i assume? same goes for frogs in the river part while in the swamps they are fine.
so please higher the upper border of the sound zone again as it was 2 or 3 patches ago
Add AI in the open Ocean besides turtles so that salt water mutation has somewhat of a purpose
add teno ai back
DONT ADD PLAYABLE AI
Ai spawns lack consistency. I travelled from water access all the way until the delta dam and not a single fish or school of fish in sight. I have no idea how the games AI system works as far as fish are concerned. But please look into it during stress testing as it seems to happen alot and playing deino isn't fun when you are starving and trying to get to elsewhere to hunt
Bring back the normal spawn of fish in rivers and lakes. THERE is NO FOOD AT ALL for adult crocs. And with fact that we swam three rivers and didn't find anyone at max server's online. It's really annoying. Why should I search for goddamn fish all over the map with 0% hunger? Why is it that when I play as a herbivore, I constantly find animals and fish, but I can't find anything when I play as a carnivore. Jesus.
Instead of Ai Spawning randomly in an area there shood be more exact places to find them because i swear if i go some where to find Ai and they spawn the second I'm on 4th screen i am going to LOSE it. And please update the audio for the Ai sound and steps
Please add more saturation of AI spawns...there are so few around the map and often when I arrive in an area it should be, it has already been hunted and eaten or you can hear it but not find it...
Also idk if it's just me who can't smell them while trying to find them (i never smelled an alive one) if not:
Please make them smell-able when still alive if you are in the area of their location. They are already rather small sometimes so that would help finding them in tall grass or plants or such..
you should do AI spawns like legacy. if a carnivor is very low on food, AI spawn near it.
I was thinking... shouldnt carno have all the bigger AI in his diet? you know he is supposed to be a "small game hunter" so i think its logical that all small game AI fits into his diet. By small game i mean boar, deer, goat and seaturtle. Seaturtle is a no brainer as carno actually spawns near beaches. This would also enable him to have an attainable diet in less populated areas.
I mean, I thought brachiosaurus would be a cool idea. Like extra small playerables can pick bugs and hitch a ride on the brachs back. And provide a Snack or meal of a big trex pack or smth (as an ai).
Sorry for all the brachiosaurus lovers, but brach is way too slow and chunky to be fun and fair.
i can hear plenty of boars in hordetesting, i just can't see them
Goats spawn are terrible.
BRING BACK THE AI's ALL OVER THE MAP i died 2-3 times as DEINO bc i didnt find a single FISH!... jesus i was killing me deino and making new one to eat my old corpse to survive...
Rats AI in human building areas.
Would breathe some life into the areas and also a little treat for hunters.
It might be a skill issue, but it's easier to find a t-rex roaming the map than finding fish and frogs
I AM TIRED DYING TRYING TO FIND FOOD, I MEAN THIS IS INSANE!
hordetest feedback
Chickens and rabbits AI only seem to be there after a server restart and do not appear again after that
agree on the above, chickens and rabbits seem incredibly rare compared to deer/boar. would like to see more frogs, rabbits, chickens and especially crabs spawn more frequently as they are pretty much non-existent. don't think i've seen a single crab for months on gateway
i think Taco should be on more diets because as far as i know its not on any carnivore diet currently. otherwise its a useless addition thats only value is nostalgia.
AI is so much better with random spawns, it's lovely to see!
Jesus christ, fix the fish spawning, my Beipi just starved to death swimming around in EMPTY RIVERS AND LAKES, The whole map feels like a desert with no life except random animals you hear but cant see. Make a system where you can slightly smell prey to actually hunt it instead of running around like a jackass in the dark trying to catch a fly.
Have been seeing elite fish very rarely. But when I do find one. It seems to be the fastest fish every time and able is to outpace my FG Dieno with the swim speed mutation
Give taco organs
Remove frogs as ai or reduce spawn chances of them, im trying not to starve as a dieno and ive seen 13 frogs and zero schooling or elite fish frogs give less than 1% food.
When schooling fish spawn in most rivers and some lakes they like to stack up in the same area, verry close together.
Would love to see when a group of fish spawn that their schools are more spread out as in lakes it can be hard to locate them at times due to them all being in a big cluster
the fewer people there are in the region/server, the more the AI will spawn. 8 people on the server and for 2 full stamina I found only 2 ai
I am once again asking for bullfrog AI to get vocalisation, one because it adds to the ambience, and two because you surely cant expect us to locate a small green amphibian amidst all the greenery, we need at least a helping hand in the right direction, you hear more boars than you do bullfrogs.
This very short video shows an American Bullfrog, our largest American frog, as it calls to stake out territory and/or to attract a mate. Shot from a kayak using the 150-400mm 1.25TC Olympus lens, the video illustrates the versatility of this lens and alerts viewers to my upcoming video on macro photography.
Small Fauna AI
This game could use some more life in its environments, and one way to do this is of by adding AI, and my idea of small animals as AI can help out adding more ambience to the environments, as well as being food for small carnivores.
Ambience: Right now when I walk around alone on Gateway it does tend to feel a bit empty, like nothing but you exists, so adding some small AI around could really add more immersion to Gateways environments. The AI in question could be a whole range of species in the animal kingdom. Rodents, reptiles, songbirds, clams, fish, stingrays, worms, starfish, snails, and pretty much everything throughout the Arthropod phyla like tarantulas, beetles, butterflies, tadpole shrimps, hermit crabs, ECT. These AI could also come with distinct advanced behaviors to add immersion when players interact with them, with different behaviors for different species
The AI could also get the feature of spawning near players & de-spawning when no one is around a certain radius after a certain amount of time (around 15-30 minutes). As well as having a decreased chance of spawning in already populated areas (since the players are kind-a already fulfilling the immersion part). I think this could work for these types of AI as apposed to the larger AI species we have now, as they more-so act as a meal instead of acting as ambience.

I saw that it was already somewhat posted but AI elite fish are broken on HT right now. When you begin to approach them not only are they insanely fast but also they are rubber banding hard and constantly switching directions as if the server can't read their location. The only way to actually catch them is to corral them to the beach so they are stuck.
For hordetesting feedback please make ai louder and not go silent as you get closer. It's extremely difficult to spot ai unless their in an open field because the map has soo much foliage. That on top of ai being so rare in the first place makes them nearly impossible to find.
i just spawned as a deino at water access, scanned the whole lake and then went downriver until i died of starvation - not having seen another player or ai the whole time... no fish, no nothing. Server is full but there was nobody in the river or in the lake yet no fish. I think this should be adjusted bc i feel like i literally had zero chance to do anything
Lack of Ai is literally making the game unplayable. Juvi anything can’t kill larger players. So no fish, no goats, turtles and crabs that are non existent make getting any bigger impossible. What’s even the point of putting them on the diet list?? How bout instead of redesigning the map and putting out a million dev blogs, actually work on the fundamental issues with this game?
Consider adding some sort of AI similar to boars but more aggressive that will specifically hunt down juvenile omniraptors
I miss my favorite little dino compsognathus! Free him!
Building on this. Perhaps Bobcats would fill that niche. Fighting off a bobcat would be fun too!
The flyer AI guys just spawn and stay grounded, they are so hard to see that half the time they halt my dinosaurs running or walking just because theres a pile of them in the grass.
Not to mention I dont think they (or compies) are doing the job of actually eating abandoned corpses which builds on server lag
I would like to see more of our small AI in general, but also occasionally a mid or large AI would be nice.
Smaller AI such as lizards could be added to both jungles and the Highlands, as they're often found in dense vegetation along with shrublands. It would be fun to see a lizard sunbathing on a rock before it skitters away from danger.
I saw someone mention a bobcat, which made me think of other predator type creatures that could be added for diversity. Foxes, coyotes, and mountain lions are all capable predators that can also scavenge. These would make great AI that could 1.) be seen hunting prey AI, 2.) be seen cleaning up corpses and 3.) fight back when hunted.
Increase the rate of ai in the water of swamp, I keep starving and depending on ground kills there as a deino
ht
bring back elite fish death by hitting the shore or significantly reduce its movement speed. only way to kill an elite fish now is to get it stuck in a log underwater
Less erratic pathfinding for AI would be nice. No animal runs at constant 90 degree angles or repeatedly 180s between two predators. This is especially egregious in elite fish.
just lost a full grown deino cos no fish spanwed for so long
AI seemed to never Spawn when Starving
More AI fish
Good progress globally .i think is enough easy to kill for noob and little . Number no so much , just sad for a thing..... why compso ; quetzoa; deer ; boar are not agressives? Players play agressively ; wild is agressive ; and we decide to give up that? I dont understand
Leave the AI spawns as they are right now, but maybe add that some Ai may spawn when theres a carnivore with less than 50% hunger around, so they wont starve. it shouldnt be alot of ai, just a small amount, for example: 2 chickens for a carno or 1 rabbit for a utah. Just so they dont starve to death while exploring the Map. Its kinda hard to explore the map when you constantly have to search for food and there appears to be none. also turtles should spawn more frequently in my opinion. I was a full grown dilo at beach, been there for 3 hours straight and havent seen 1 turtle. only deer and boar. its kinda annoying. but when I play as a diablo and Im at the beach I seem to find thousands of turtles at the place I am at. Its weird how turtles tend to spawn in more herbivore dominated fields.
Today on EU 6 a bunch of Ai spawned, then they didn't for hours... We tried to play with several dinos (troodon, herrera, etc) but kept starving to death. I'm used to searching for food ofc, this is what the game is about, but when the food is nonexsistent, it's a bit hard.
hordetest feedback:
crabs, chicken, rabbits, bullfrogs and turtles seem to be non existent as a Ptera (fish is very hit and miss, seems to be clustered too much in ond spot you can easily miss)
4 out of 5 ptera’s starved to death on a full server
(the other Ptera was 100% grown and got insta killed by a hidden baby boar 🥲)
Generally hunting small AI feels painfully rng and some dino’s could do with a way to track/sense them a bit more
Additional hordetest feedback:
some more testing on Ptero, something is defo off with the table/tuning for AI spawns, I have seen 20 out of 20 baby deer spawn where crabs and turtles used to spawn (beaches, small islands, sandbanks, middle of the ocean)
I have seen 10 out of 10 baby boars spawn where schools of fish used to spawn (middle of rivers, nearby waterfalls, edges of lakes)
Make Ai like Frogs or Seaturtles, Crabs Spawn when with Hunger, Young Dilos or Pteras have it Extremly hard to get a Growing Diet
Yesterday had, and not being hyperbolic at all, 17 seaturtles spawn on the west rail beach. Along with too many crabs for me to count.
I didn't see a single AI on the rest of the map for over an hour and a half and then find a friggin' heard of turtles n crabs. Tf?
