Can agree lighting is a bitch, generally I start with a greyscale before color since doing color is much more difficult.
And there’s a rule you need to reminder about shading where you need to keep a eye on called shading equaltity or something along the lines let me find it real quick

Basically tho make sure the darkest shadows match up with each other and vice versa with stuff around it or on the creature itself, like let’s say you make under the head really dark and then by the base of the body it’s not as dark but it should be

The only issue I ever have with Krita is the select tool being a little dumb if you have the wrong layer active when you use it

Although if you're using a touchscreen like a tablet or laptop you have to change something in the settings for the stylus to work properly.

Artist but one of the biggest advices I could give you would be to use references. Since you can’t really find real life Dinosaur Gore I‘d recommend you googling Animals that somewhat have the same shape of the animal you are trying to draw as an example Komodo dragon or any other lizard. After picking a reference you just have to apply which sounds easier than it is take your time and practice cause you are bound to fail everyone is

Not to mention how certain injuries work; If your neck is slashed you'll bleed like a pig, but if you're stabbed you won't bleed that much. @fringe kestrel for some advice that is hopefully helpful, although i can't tell properly due to the angle the photo was taken, the jawline doesn't look very pronounced so i'd thicken it up a bit. the neck seems to come to a relatively small width so i'd recommend making that a little thicker in the front. for the eye i'd suggest modifying the "fleshy" part so it'd look a bit more natural and up size the eye since it is relatively small. for the last change since the rest of it looks good, i'd personally make the chin a bit less protruding, but that one is up to artistic choice and preference.

Make a light source. Make a spot where the light specifically comes from. You can always do this (some people do it) by drawing a sun first on a different layer, to always know the location of where the sun is at, then place the shadows based on the location of that sun. (You dont have to have sun in your art, just a different layer you can delete later). This may help! Otherwise if this is your first time doing shading with light, it does look good! 🙂

And you have to realize that we, as mods/admins, often do like some things that we remove. But it just simply doesn't go in the channel, as per the channel rules and guidelines.

I see memes in here. I also see posts of dinos that are not even isle related. They are just dinos.
