I've done literally everything that others have suggested, it takes the server list about 10 minutes to load. I have 500mbps internet, so that's not the issue. I've done a winsock reset, flushed my dns, verified game install, re-installed. I'm not the only one having this issue, the devs need to do something.

It is a problem with Steam, there are many games having this exact problem. Even CSGO, just open the community server browser in csgo and you'll see all Russian servers all with same names. I've also found several posts about people having this problem, just Google it and you'll find many

All you could do is write to steam support, I've already done it. But the response was "Dedicated and community servers are provided as is" but apparently they also took note and passed the details to the dev team. Maybe if enough people create a ticket about this then they'll actually take some action

I admin for a server and for some reason my admin name toggle doesnt work. I've tried everything recommended including renaming input to input2, it worked the first time but it isnt working now. Im in the process of reinstalling and I'll go through all the steps afain ( delete config / saved files, verify integrity, etc ) but if those don't work, what will?

yo so recently I've been getting some pretty major stutters every few seconds on thenyaw and I haven't tested it out on v3

I've tried cleaning the files and doing a fresh install, clearing up more space, verifying files, updating drivers, nothing has worked

Try deleting your Config, that resets all your graphic settings and your custom keybinds.
I'd recommand taking a screenshot of your Settings before doing that, so you can restore them if something changes.

Hey so I was able to get into a legacy server just a few minutes ago but I verified my files and did the fix for my escape not showing up (deleting the isle folder)

Now when I try to load servers, (I've already verified twice and restarted my pc) it infinite loads them. I have tried the fix for checking the hide empty on and off already, and have also tried lowered the range but I can't get it to load the servers

hm ): that issue is a weird one, I have a few ideas you can try:

0.) Make sure you have Official servers disabled at the side, there are no official servers for Legacy.

1.) Take a look at this post and follow it

You may want to try getting into servers via steam. And incase you don’t know steam has and option were u can join servers of any game you have straight from the app itself. But besides that u may just need to reinstall the isle all together or try going to evirma n back to legacy n see if that works.

Anyone hosting multiple servers on the same IP noticed any issues over the last few days? Mainly when you try to join one server from steam, it'll randomly pick one of your servers on that IP to join instead of the port you chosen? Multihome port and query are all set on the command line, and port / peerport are both set in engine.ini as well just to make sure.
Feels as if the backend is joining you via IP instead of IP:Port.

1.) Clear your Steam download cache

• Open Steam
• Select “STEAM” on the upper left corner
• Go to Settings -> Downloads
• click on [Clear Download Cache]

2.) Firewall exclusion:
Do you have an Anti-Virus Program ? If you do, make sure it's not blocking the game.
You should be able to add an exclusion for the "The Isle" steam game folder
(I mean the folder under:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files)

Else you could also try adding an exclusion to your windows Firewall, this post should explain it well:

3.) A complete manual uninstall.

A re/un-install from hand can sometimes help with certain issues were a normal uninstall over steam doesn't work.
Some files "survive" if you uninstall a game over steam, therefore this might help.
It will however delete the Skins you have saved to presets, so you might want to save those first.
For a complete uninstall do these 2 steps:

1.) Deleting your Steam game files:

• Right Click The Isle in your steam library
• Select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files
• Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.

2.) Deleting your Local game files

• Press "Windows key" (or "Windows key" + "R" if that doesn't work)
• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.
• Search for TheIsle folder.
• Delete the TheIsle folder once you've found it.

Now you can re-install the game over Steam, like normal.

4.) Swapping to Legacy and back, that helped a few people before too

To have both legacy and evrima version:

1. Swap to main branch (no beta selected) and install Legacy
2. Go to steam > steamapps > common and change TheIsle folder to have _OLD after it (picture attached)
3. Now swap to evrima beta branch and install evrima version

After this, if you want to swap back to legacy do not change your branch to legacy keep it on evrima version. Simply go into the steamapps common folder and change the evrima version TheIsle folder to have _NEW after it and remove the _OLD from legacy version file.
When you boot up the game it should open legacy this way.
Likewise if you want to swap back to evrima change the legacy version to _OLD again and remove _NEW from evrima version.

⚠️ If evrima receives an update while the legacy file is your active folder it will install the new evrima version over the legacy file. So, make sure your evrima file is the active file when an update hits or you will have to reinstall legacy again.

I've attached an example of what it should look like in your file explorer

With the changes to steamapi over the last few weeks. Any chance we can get the files updated on legacy? Multiple servers on one IP are having issues. IE try to join one and it sometimes will join another on that IP instead (seems to be joining the first one the game and see on that IP instead of joining via the IP:Port)

Even just a work around would be great right now. Have a large isle community that would love this fixed.

There is very little chance that Legacy will receive any updates. The issue you are describing has been occurring for a while now, not just over the last few weeks. Best fix (atleast when I hosted a server on Legacy a while back) was to switch locations and get a different IP

It has always been a bit of an issue for some players, but the past couple of weeks, we have half of our playerbase unable to find the servers in the server list. We have had Khurune working on our server trying to fix the issues by doing the things you suggested (they work for the server host we use). It has most certainly gotten worse since the most recent steam API updates. I don't expect that Legacy will be updated, honestly. Would it be nice if they kept Legacy running smoothly until Evrima had more going for it? Of course. Thousands of people think the same. Sad

Many servers offer a request-buy system on their discord.
Usually you can just spawn in as one over a Discord command, but it depends.
Just don't get tricked into using real money!

I played evrima for a while now and when i switched back to legacy for some time it was all okay but about a week ago when i got into the game my screen turned black and all i could do was close the game. After that the game opens just fine but servers just dont load in. It doesnt show "server not found", they just simply dont load in no matter what i have tried to do. I changed my steam settings as was recommended "server browser pings" down to 1000 but that didnt help. Tried to uninstall and install the game back but that was not helpfull. I have a powerfull pc but when my game opens if i click on the screen just before it completely loads up a red message of "your computer doesnt meet the minimum system requirements" shows up for a brief half a second. Even so it should still load up so thats not the problem because i know for sure my pc specs are more than enough. It’s because Legacy isn’t updating when Steam does. I think it’s missed 3? updates now. Problem will only continue to get worse each time Steam updates, unless devs finally decide to fix it. Given how they’re not even acknowledging the issue tho, I feel like their plan is to just ignore it and hope the 6.5 update is big enough to bring the player base to evrima 🤷🏻‍♀️

Step 1 go into the folders to: Steam >Steamapps> common>The Isle> TheIsle > Binaries > Win64

Step 2: In the folder you're now in (Win64) you should see a file called TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping. If you do, then you're in the right place. In this folder, create a text file named steam_appid. (A normal .txt file)

Step 3: open up your new steam_appid text file that you just created and add 376210 to the file. Just the numbers, nothing else. that is The Isle's Steam App ID

Step 4: Check and see if the game starts properly and you should be set with no more steam subs system error message and can play normally

If that doesn’t work, you may have to do flush dns or restart steam

I had that same issue today. I went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle and launched the .exe there. It pops with some sort of error when you get in, so I'm not sure how that might affect gameplay.

sometimes nesting doesn’t work at all. you press the button and it doesn’t even tell you you cant nest. no button bound to “build mode” either so no confliction.

Okay, so you should be good there for legacy. Ram is good and I’m assuming cpu is good as well, however it’s running at 100% so I’m going to guess the issue may be that you have background task or malware eating it causing that to appear.

If you click on cpu, what comes after the 11 Gen Intel(R)

Your components seem to all be good for running the isle, not sure why that error is showing. You should be able to ignore it and keep playing.

However, I see that you have added “mods” to the game, which in turn changes the code. Because of this, it makes it difficult to know what’s wrong and you very well could have downloaded something that is causing this

You can try changing your steam ping in the steam settings, that may help with finding servers. Unless an error pop up that says you aren't allowed

hey, so, the servers on legacy have been completely demolished. all i see are chinese servers, or nothing at all besides 2-3 community servers, which are all dead. a few months ago, this was fine, and all servers popped up, with rarely any chinese servers. is there anything i can do to fix it, or can only the devs fix it? so far, i have done everything i could possibly think of, yet it didn't work.

If you go to your task manger, there will be a performance tab. Check GPU (it’s possible it will have a number after it like 0 or 1. If there are two, share both please)

Graphics card is borderline, it’s possible that’s part of the fatal errors. When does the fatal error occur?

Ah okay, that error means there is an issue with the graphics card or files. If you have already, verify your steam files. After that, check for any updates for your graphics card. For nvidia, you should be able to download GeForce experience and update from there.

Used to play The Isle legacy a lot... Just got back into playing the legacy version of the game. Lets me into a server for 2-5 minutes before connection to the host has been lost. I've done this for innumerous servers and it happens every single time. What am I doing wrong? Any advice on how to fix this? I've uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times now.

@gusty pumice you can try to completely reinstall nvidia drivers for your gpu if that didn't work but you will need to get a gpu driver uninstaller I forgot the name of the one I used before but its called guru or something

Try fiddling with how many servers you can view or search for a specific one.. unfortunately legacy is full of fake Chinese servers and isn’t going to be fixed.

Ex, instead of 5000 put like 1000 or 100, usually it loads faster too

you need to give The Isle exclusion in your antivirus and in firewall network settings

and find a steam ping that fits your wifi speed you just gotta experiment with that

another thing is if you search for more than 100 servers it will take longer to find servers

btw uncheck all the filters in the server filters

only have hide empty and hide outdated on if anything
