My best guess is that has a massive genomic (and maybe proteomic) database from organisms all over the world, and it understands how these genes all interact. I think it is able to craft chimeric organisms using these sequences, kinda like someone stitching a quilt out of many different fabrics

It is helped by the sheer amount of genetic conservation across species, where many many many genes all have the same function even though they are found in diverse groups
