a lot of games have several games
and each game being their own episode of the overarching "game series story"

but within ONE game? Done through several maps (and possibly game modes within those maps)?
That sounds pretty unique for this game and would definitely be a beautifully painful way of story telling in lore

and also a pain in the butt for reformatting the lore doc

Alright here’s my theory. I thought they said EIPs were not happening which made me not post it, but if they’re still planned then it could still happen.

I think humans around the world are able to enter the consciousness of a dino/Gen 1/Gen 2 on the island and the dino is made by the replicator (could be completely off with how the replicator is used, but they’re made by something).

When controlling a Gen 2, the goal is to discover a secret of the island. This would be very difficult and involve travelling all over the island and collecting enough things, push the levers, turn on whatever. Once they do all that, it completely wipes that server (all player dinos are wiped, just like happens in some updates). Once you complete this mission, a cinematic plays showing the island getting nuked, an asteroid hitting, whatever. There will be a few different missions, and with each completion, you are able to unlock the ability to play as either a Neuro/Tisso/Hyper on that server. Each mission only unlocks one though, so asteroid mission might only unlock the ability to play Neuro for example.

Playing as Gen 1 or the dinos, you obviously don’t want to lose your progress if someone completes these missions and obtains a server wipe, so their mission is to thwart all humans on sight. This keeps humans from being OP as well as knowing that each time they leave a base, the entire server is against them. This encourages ambushing from the dinos and really keeps the Gen 2 on their toes. I think playing as a Gen 1, gives the player the ability to be kind of a hybrid. They get far better agility and attack than Gen 2, with the bonus of being able to read any signs or papers, which could help to explore the map as Gen 1 before attempting to complete the missions as a Gen 2.

I think once you are able to complete all 3 objectives, you unlock the ability to play as the Matriarch. This would be extremely rare, but you also don’t know who would have unlocked which servers, so at any point, you could be on the server with someone who is the Matriarch.
